I ordered a bunch of balloons for my wife's birthday, which was the next day and I always set up balloons in the morning as a surprise. Im a UPS delivery driver and got off work extremely late but Harmony and her staff stayed a little bit after close for me so I could still pick up the balloons and complete my surprise. Zero stars for customer service and friendliness. Zero stars for having what I needed. Party city is supposed to have everything yet they don't have golf or voting decorations. Also the manager Paula really needs to learn some customer Service skills and how to use her smile to show that she's happy that we're there and when we have feedback, she could be more personal about it instead of listing off what they don't have and refusing to talk to headquarters about it. We went with our almost 10 year old to pick fun birthday party stuff and left with NOTHING! Seriously, their selection is lacking!!! I don't often recommend a competing business, but I must in this case. Party Planet in Surprise is worth the drive if you are not nearby!! We drove the distance, in fact twice!! We purchased over $100 of super fun and unique items and then realized that we should have got 'this and that' too so we returned! SO MUCH fun stuff at great prices!!! Party PLANET is also a mom and pop owned store! I now call Party City, "Party Pooper". I also have an issue with Party City because they rented out a HUGE venue and left it empty during the Halloween season so that a competing company could not use it as they had for many years! Their competition was stuck in a very small space and we didn't have the choices as typically we would for our Halloween purchases! Party City wanted to stop them from doing business. Shameful. Party Planet is HUGE and they have so much more to offer than Party Pooper/Party City, and at great prices!! read more

This is the worst retail experience I've had at a party city and overall at any retail store. I bought a couple of masks and went to return it within my 14 return day policy. I was then informed by the worker that I would not be allowed to return my items because it is the night before Halloween. The workers at party city when I originally bought the masks did not educate me on this so instead of getting money back onto my card I had to take a gift card from the store. However the manager was willing to do the return for me as long as the money went back onto the original card they had on file in the system. Ironically, the card they had on file did not match any of the three card numbers I have or the one I used to purchase the masks originally. Overall, I do not recommend coming to this party city because they will not educate you on things you need to know as in consumer and will not care for you as a person. read more

My review is really based on the luke warm overall experience of the customer service. The place itself is great and provides a huge variety of supplies for all your events! We went in the morning as soon as it opened to drop off an order, then in the afternoon to pick it up. In short, the customer service in the morning seemed like the employees were being punished for being there....However, in the aftertoon, the cashier was much much better. I would give it zero stars if I had the chance. I bought a bunch of balloons for my son's birthday, I asked the employee if they inflated the balloons for free, he said yes just show the receipt. I come back a week later, asked to inflate the balloons and they said it's $1.30 per ballon, we'll I have more than 30 balloons. The short female employee was really snotty didn't even apologize about the situation didn't show any empathy. Party City come on!! I ended up returning the balloons for a refund. You're better off buying your party goods online. read more

Wow. I dealt with a customer service representative today named Jackson and he was amazing! I had a very unique request and he had some things to try to go around and he made it happen and with all that said he also made me feel warm and fuzzy about placing an order I was very uncomfortable in doing. I would recommend this party city to anyone for a balloon delivery especially, they are amazing and Jackson deserves some kudos if not a raise! read more

The people working in this store are so in competent. I looked online to make sure they had the stuff I need in the store when I got there they didn't have them on the self. So 4 workers came out and looked on the small shelf, that I clearly could see for myself, and proceeded to tell me they didn't have them. Like duh I can see they are not on the self. I asked them to look in the computer and they refused to do so. Then as there were talking to me the girl was so rude and condescending by calling a "dear" when I am a grow woman and she was clearly a 20 year old girl. It has been two years now since I was able to get balloons from this place because...wait for it...they don't have helium! Yep. So, please don't go here thinking you will get any balloons filled. They have balloons, yes, but no helium. I find this extremely crazy because I can go to Valentinas and get my balloons AND they have helium. Don't waste your time at this place. read more

I went into Party City on Oct 20, 2011 and was looking for one particular item, I ran into a particularly common problem where a customer goes into a store and finds two identical products listed at two different prices. Went to check out, cash register shows the higher price. I noted to the cashier that there are two prices listed where I found this item (both the same item). Cashier spoke to the manager (whom was busy filling balloons) - manager said there was nothing that could be done. I cashed out at the higher price, walked to the manager and asked to come and look what I was talking about. Walked him to the back of the store, he showed me the high price - I showed him the low price, he agreed it was the same product and finally honored the lower price. I went back to the cash register was credited $1.00+tax back onto my card. If you're an employee of this Party City reading this review and you find yourself too busy to help the customer at a certain time, then believe the fact "the customer is always right". read more

This place is pretty good. What I like about it is that each aisle has a different party theme. It makes choosing things very easy. They have cute things for birthday parties, weddings, baby showers etc. They also have a big selection of balloons and will fill them for 75 cents each. The tanks seem expensive to rent. I calculated the cost for a small one, and it was only saving like 4 cents a balloon and would only fill up 40 balloons. If I have to lug a big tank back and forth, plus get ribbon, I want more of a savings. The decorations were very cute. I looked on amazon though, and found everything for cheaper except a few items. All in all it is good if you need the stuff right away and do not want to order online, and want to support stores in your community. read more

This Party City is amazing! It is huge and has anything one would need when throwing basically any type of party! They have a huge bulk candy and toy section that is reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and even gave our son a balloon for free because they did not carry an Avengers balloon. We had a great a experience at this store and did not mind the travel because of the great selection. read more

I go in trying to purchase balloons for my friends birthday party. It takes about 5 minutes just to get someone to help me. Once someone comes he is focused on doing something with the phone. He keeps picking it up and then back down and slamming things around. It was really weird, he was distracted and not helpful. I finally place my order but the price is crazy. I only wanted 10 balloons and it cost over $15! I feel ripped off. To add to this, one of the balloons had a hole in it and just looks pathetic compared to the others. I love coming here when it comes to party planning and decorating. It's a nice size store so they have quite a bit of stuff to choose from. Most of it is organized into different sections according to event type, holiday, etc. The employees are pretty cool and the few times I've been in here they add extra staff to help out around the holidays when it gets busy. I really like that this place is kept neat and fairly organized so that you aren't stepping over things or rummaging through different sections to find what you need. I recently came here looking for little toys and pencils for kids gift bags I was making and was happy to find everything I needed and more! Party City has tons of cool little toys and favors as low as .25 a piece. A nice feature they have is to email your receipts - it's good to have, especially if you're picking up items for work that have to be submitted for reimbursement. The people here are super helpful, they let me try out Halloween decorations before making my final purchases, and they also let me return a few items I didn't use over Halloween with no hassle. The store itself is huge with all kinds of costumes, decorations, accessories, etc. They have all kinds of products for kids and adults.
