This is a cute shop with really fun paper, crafts, and small gifts. I came here looking for a present for a friend of mine who loves stationary, and ended up buying gifts for three friends instead! I got a journal and some cool sticky notes for my first friend and books for my other friends. The prices are okay. A little high, but i feel like that's pretty standard for fun and interesting paper these days. I mean, it's almost a pure luxury, since so much of what we do is digital now. I like that they have a clearance table, and they have a few fun little toys and candies too. Their selection of individual cards was quite nice, and the whole vibe of the store was inviting and comfortable. The place was clean, well lit, vibrantly colored, and the young woman who rung up my purchase was friendly and polite. I spent about $80 on two books, one fancy sticky note pad, one ultra fancy card, and a clearance journal. So... more than I intended to spend today, but since they were all gifts, it felt easier to justify. I also found out Paper Source is connected to (owned by? part of?) Barnes and Noble, which I hadn't realized before. Anyway, or was a fun shop and I'd stop in again if I need a gift. I'm not sure I'd come here for myself unless I had a very specific need for some high end artistic paper. I was on a mission to buy a specific-numbered birthday card for a friend: 75! b/c isn't that a Milestone Birthday? I thought for sure that Paper Source would have it b/c in the past, I've found so many cool birthday things, most esp cards. It's been a minute since I've been there and had no idea 1) they're owned by Barnes & Noble now 2) they have a rewards program 3) they have someone who works there who goes ABOVE AND BEYOND to help. I point this out b/c in the past I've had to flag someone down for help as if I was at a huge department store. As soon as I came in the store, this gentleman Joel helped me. Even when we found there was NO "Happy 75th Bday: cards, he continued to make suggestions for how to help me celebrate my friend's 75th, including buying the numbered candles they have (which I love & have bought there) as well a bunch of other creative ideas. Much appreciated! Their inventory is outrageous! So many interesting & unusual items to buy for gifts, parties, etc. One of those unusual items is the Magic Butterfly that you wind up & put in a card & when the person opens up the card, it FLIES out of the card. So cool! And the person receiving it can wind it back up & pay it forward to another friend or fam member. (Side note: Make sure you watch the "Magic Butterful" video if you buy one b/c it actually shows you how to wind it so it works & it doesn't break). read more

I recently got into bookbinding and was on the hunt for some various prints/specialty paper, Paper Source quickly came to mind! I got about 10 different sheets of beautiful various prints. They have quite a great selection, prices range from about $8-$15 depending on a few factors. You do have to pull each print off to see the price in the corner, but it's nice to get a feel for it in general. They have lots of other cute trinket and stationary items. I do wish they had more cardstock options, for a paper store, but it's pretty much limited to stationary needs for letters or invitations, but that's not the end of the world. It's definitely a fun store to peruse through and though I did not get my paper for wrapping, It's definitely something I would consider doing or return visit for a special gift. The Paper Source team was split, with one super friendly employee and another less so, still a positive experience overall and I will return when I am looking for some fun prints for another project! read more

This was the first time I've been in here since I was a kid. When I grew up around this area it was NOT as nice as it is today, and I remember this being one of the first nice shops to open and thinking it was for rich people. HAHA. I am definitely returning here in the future. Paper Source sells everything you need for your, well... paper needs! They have quality journals, planners, sketchbooks, pencils and pens, wrapping papers, greeting cards and materials to make your own cards, stamps, etc... There are also some other cute miscellaneous things such as gummy bears, little toys, pop sockets... Upon walking by, my friend said she was afraid to go in here because she was scared she would want to buy everything. I ended up being the perfect example of that. There were these ADORABLE neck pillows that looked like bears and elephants. I had trouble parting with them. I will have them one day..... I had a lot of things in my arms towards the end of the trip, but ended up practicing self control and only bought a nice sturdy journal that has the evil eye on it (a big part of my culture) for only $14.95 and a sticker sheet. A wonderful place to have your gifts wrapped. I had a gift at home that I wanted to spruce up and make it look beautiful. They charge eight dollars for the gift wrap and then you buy the paper and ribbon additional. It ended up looking absolutely beautiful! WOW.....is all I have to say. I was freaking out, less then a week away from a dear friends wedding and out of gift ideas. I knew I wanted to somehow make something special with my friends family crest she had created for her wedding. I thought maybe I'd swing in this store since it's by my house. I walked in looking for some card stock to try and take it at home and print a card myself. Rachel was working the register and I explained what I was trying to do and asking about Card stock.... telling her my woes me about my lack of real talent when it comes to this stuff. She said, I might be able to help (that was an UNDERSTATEMENT!)...she had me e-mail the store the crest and she printed it, cut it, put borders and helped me make a custom two tone envelope. It's BEYOND beautiful....I was practically in tears, because I had no idea how to make this idea come to life and she took the time to literally create the most gorgeous custom card! I've been in Retail Management and Customer Service a very long time and the way she literally handled this as if it were going to her own friend or loved one touched me so deeply. I've never been in Paper Source before, but I'm going to make it my one stop shop just for Rachel!!!! Yes, it's a chain. And yes, it's expensive. But now that we've gotten that out of the way, on to the rest of this review... Paper Source Biltmore is a one stop shop for cards, gifts, stationary, and more. It's rare that I've gone into Paper Source without purchasing anything. I recently went in because they are also a "happy return" location for Rothy's. I found this out decided to return a pair of shoe's I had ordered. Nice touch to save on the UPS shipping. They got me into the store and even offered a discount on my shopping that day. Clever marketing :) Staff is friendly and attentive... I haven't used Paper Source for any custom invitations, but I know that is something else they are known for. If you're close to any PS location and seeking a card or gift, or just want some inspiration to create your own, this is your place! read more

I would have never stopped here if I hadn't been killing time before an appointment - and that would have been my loss. Paper Source is bursting with cute cards, gift wrap, gifts, etc. It is one of those shops that you have to walk through slowly or you'll miss a bunch of cool, cute stuff. Everything is high quality. Yes, the prices reflect that, but you won't find most of these items at Target or Hallmark. I saw a tin of lip balm that I used to wear religiously as a teen, which brought back some nice nostalgia. I was in love just walking in yesterday, and I couldn't believe that there was a whole table dedicated to plant lady merch! I've been looking for things with houseplants on them everywhere and have had no luck at all, and then I stepped into the treasure trove purely by accident! On behalf of all the crazy plant ladies, I cannot thank you enough! I noticed that everything was beautifully arranged, even down to the angle of the packaging on the shelves, so kudos to whoever did that, it shows that a lot of care was put into the place. Placed an order in-store for custom printed stationary, paid for it, and was told it would be printed and shipped to me. Received a call the following Monday that it would actually cost 50% more! I told them to cancel the order - the bait and switch really turned me off to the whole thing. The best was yet to come however. It took no less than 4 weeks and multiple phone calls to track down and finally get my refund. Beware this company - poor service from their 1-800 line and bait and switch tactics on prices. read more

Great shop. Love the location. I'm sooooooo happy that a Paper Source opened up on my side of town. The Friends and Family event was fun. The store was crowded so that was nice to see. The layout of the store is easy to maneuver and they have a great selection of paper and crafting supplies as well as gifts (see my other Paper Source review). The store was packed with employees as well as managers from regional and probably the store in the Scottsdale Quarter. I witnessed some training going on but the new employees were jumping right in and were excited. If you sign up with your email you will receive an email for 10% off. Not sure how long that promotion will last but even when it's over, sign up anyway. The emails are great as well as their catalog. Happy crafting. read more

Been a customer here for several years after another card shop at The Biltmore sadly closed. Five weeks ago I ordered balloons and bought decorations for my nephews daughters 10th birthday. A huge surprise since they live out of state. Less than two days before Im to pick up balloons-Im told they have no helium now for several weeks. No options. No solutions. Just a refund. Im out of town. Not home for two more days. Had a rough conversation trying get a response that communicated back back to me they understood. Tried to explain that if they had done some extra leg work and called around and found some places to fill the balloons I could have used, that would have been extraordinarily fantastic customer service. Years of doing business $$$ here evaporated in a matter of a few minutes. I then explained other places that do balloons look like "sh#t" compared to theirs. I chose Paper Source on purpose. Sorry Paper Source. You dropped the ball on a little girls surprise birthday. But hey, it seems a business I called not to far from you has helium. So much for the "shortage". This is a great store for unique cards for all occasions and personal little gifts. also a lot of stuff for crafts and scrapbooking. the staff was very helpful, I asked about their class schedule and the employee was able to answer to some degree but was new and did not know much about it but I give her props for trying and seeming eager to help. My mom and I casually stopped in here to check out their wedding invitations after enjoying a yummy lunch at Grassroots. Before we stopped in, I wanted to save money and had my mind set on ordering them online. However, by the time we left, we were SOLD on the most adorable invitations that actually weren't that much more than ordering them online would be! :) Evelyn was SO nice and gave us a quote that fit within my budget and was exactly what I was looking for. I've been a fan of The Paper Source for 10 years. I used to work down the street from the one in Beverly Hills and would spend my lunch breaks browsing the greeting cards and trendy gifts. The Phoenix store is as good as any location I've been to in California, despite being a tad smaller. The staff is extremely attentive and customer service is clearly a focus here. The staff also knows the wares well, which I appreciate it. The big secret that most people don't know about The Paper Source: despite being a great place to get unique cards (and paper of course) is that they have unusual, delightful and sometimes delightfully bizarre tchotcky-type gifts that are usually PERFECT to accompany a card when all you want to do is make a small gesture, but not really buy a *real* gift for someone. Example: spherical ice cube freezing tray, whiskey stones, wine glass markers, convertible pens and little humorous gag gifts that you might've seen at Spencer gifts in the 1970's. When you just want to get your friend or co-worker a little "something" but it needs to be unique and you don't want to spend more than $10, this is THE place to shop for a card and a little something cool to accompany it. read more

This store is so cute! I love all of the cuteness and gift selection! I want to hang out in this store all day, because it is full of inspiration of things to make with paper and things to wrap with paper! There is a wall full of beautiful envelopes and stationary in a rainbow of colors. They have a cute selection of rubber stamps and wrapping paper stuff too! If you don't want to make a card, they sell greeting cards too, way better than Hallmark! This location is newer than the one in North Scottsdale. I think it opened in August. It seemed a little smaller than the other location, but I don't care, I LOVE shopping at Paper Source! The gals on staff were friendly and very helpful. I think the prices are reasonable at Paper Source. If you are a craft chain store coupon clipper, then you might think the prices are too high. I visited this shop located at Town & Country yesterday after attending a downtown event since I am a scrapbooker and like to keep tabs on local scrapbooking or rubber stamp stores, as well as supporting their existence. The store is a combo of Hallmark gift shop and scrapbooking and first opened in August of last year. There's alot packed inside a very small size of a store. They sell brand-name rubber stamps, paper, gift items, books, and custom invitations. They also sell their own lines of quality rubber stamps and paper and kits. Pretty much selling items pertaining to card-making and various parties / events. They even have a little work table for classes. The sales ladies were polite and professional. The prices are manufacturer-recommended (i.e. Hero Arts rubber stamps) but they offer sales and if you sign up for e-mails, you get 10% off the total both online and in-store if you are a new customer. They heavily decorate all over and display samples according to seasons / holidays. Yes, they sell many items that you can get cheaper elsewhere, but you can purchase their design lines and help support a local business. I purchased their detailed ice cream cone stamp, paper doll kit, and a mini stamp set in a tin (by Cavallini & Co, another company) using that 10% discount. I also look forward to their pretty paper catalog in the mail ;) I eagerly await their next fall & winter designs, sooooo I will definitely be back! read more

The people in store are very nice and helpful! The actual store I would give a 5/5 stars! I would not order anything custom from them. They send the order to the corporate office and it's awful. I order my wedding invitations with a 2 week timeline and did not receive them until almost 6 weeks and my invitations went out late. I called the store and they were very helpful but this issue was out of their hands. Took forever to get a hold of corporate. They gave me so much attitude when I asked about a partial refund and then only ended up giving 10% back. I hardly ever give bad reviews but it was for my wedding!!! Like I said in store everyone was great but if you need something for an important special occasion go with someone else it's not worth the trouble. read more

The store was beautiful and pristine. The stock was wonderful and well displayed. I went into get the great 30% off deal for Planners that I heard they just put out. The store staff were doing inventory, getting rid of the old, and bringing out the new Valentines days adorableness. I found this timing at 5 o'clock right after work interesting, for as I have worked retail inventory days, which stores make employees stay late or come in early to avoid having customers in their hair while getting everything sorted. To be fair there were only 3 or so customers in the store; I was awaiting my fiancé to make up my mind on which planners I was to buy. So, I entered store at 5:05, knowing he would be there to meet me at 5:17 ish. Now, between these 13 minutes I had employees excusing their selves for me to move in front of the planner display, so they could notate whatever they were doing for inventory. I felt so bad I was in their way.... Oh wait no... no I didn't, for they chose to pick after work time on the day they release their planner sale to do said inventory/ rearranging. And I went to buy a planner for all my loved ones whose birthdays are coming up. I was so very lucky to have had 4 employees ask me if I needed help or simply stand behind me. I assume they were looking at my awesome hair from 2 feet away; it was a good hair day of mine. Finally after 8 minutes had passed, three huge planners in my hands, me trying to decide which one I could connect with for the next 12 months. I had to politely ask the person standing behind me if I was a bother and explained I am meeting my fiancée here. She explained in shock I was the only customer there so she wanted to help. I said I will ask her if help were needed. 2 minutes later my fiancé came in and I wanted for him to see if he needed any stationary. The latter employee proceeded to follow us in the back of the store where I was showing him the awesomely displayed stamps, knowing he needed one. He finally looked at me and told me which planner he thought I would have the best relationship with and pointed me to the checkout. He later explained to me that it was not my hair the ladies were admiring up close, but more that of the sense that I was a 13 year old with a backpack in Claires cheap hair accessories store. Now, unless you think of your store as a cheaply made-in-China store for pubescent teens, treat your customers as though they are not acne ridden, Beiber loving thieves. Just wandered into this place waiting for the world's most mediocre car wash next door. The man who helped me legitimately knows more about pens than think maybe anyone in the world. He told me exactly when various brands stopped carrying the style of pen I was looking for. He offered to call all of the local art supply places in the valley to see if they carried what I was looking for see if they carry it what I was looking for. Also the prices are way cheaper than Michaels or even Amazon and even if it's an illusion I feel like I am actually contributing to a local business by shopping here. So for any esoteric and extremely niche pen needs this will be my first stop. read more
