Cindy, the president of Party Cat, helped me design and print custom napkins for my wedding reception, and I couldn't be happier with the result! Prompt, clear communication characterized the entire transaction: I got quick email replies, accurate proofs, and excellent in-person service. Party Cat's flexibility in working with art I provided also set them apart from other printers I contacted. Their printer allowed me to use a jpeg of a motif from my wedding invitations on the napkins, which no one else seemed able to do. There was a small "plate fee" for this, but the pricing seemed fair to me. When I first picked up my order, I was disappointed at the clarity and color of the printing (silver on red). The product really didn't meet expectations set by the proof. However, Cindy immediately contacted the company and they re-did the order to my satisfaction in just 3 days, so I had perfect napkins in time for the big event. Custom napkins can get a little pricey, but Party Cat offers a good value for a high quality product. I'd definitely use this business in the future and recommend it to others. read more

I went to Party Cat to have a bag embroidered with my company logo. I was very happy they allowed me to purchase my own tote bag as I had something specific in mind. I bought a large LL Bean tote for reference. The staff at PC was very helpful over the phone and in person. I called on a Monday and emailed Kenneth (the embroidery guy) my logo that afternoon to be digitized. The next day I dropped off the bag, reviewed colors with him and paid for the job. Party Cat shut down this fall without first returning their customer's personal property, and also never issued refunds for services that were not delivered. There are many families whose Christmas gifts, stockings, and personal special items are being held in this closed store and the owner has taken no care to return them or communicate with us. Its incredibly disappointing and upsetting. It is unclear if we will ever have our items returned to us and/or receive refunds. I plan to report this business to the BBB, and If items are never returned I will be filing a police report as well as disputing the charge on my credit card. As for this Christmas, I had to purchase all new gifts for over 10 people at the last minute and ship them priority. All which could have been avoided had Party Cat simply returned the items. read more

As a business owner myself, I do not write a poor online review lightly. I know how much it can hurt to get one. But we were treated with such apathy that I have to say something. I picked this place based on reviews on the web and some friends who live in the neighborhood's recommendations. We wanted simple invitations and did not want them to be something we had to worry about a lot. I regret deciding to use Party Cat for our wedding invitations. The design process was fine. That part worked well, except for a few minor details that I thought they would have brought to our attention as the experts. But I have no serious complaints about the invitation design. You would think that would be the hard part. Instead, there were multiple "printing errors" which caused long delays. I can understand one printing error. I cannot understand not telling us about it until we called to ask what was taking so long. The second error caused a significant delay "because of the holidays" and we had to change our RSVP dates. We're going to have to go on our final wedding planning trip without a guest count. Two more deadlines were missed after the initial deadline. Overall the invitations were 5 weeks late. I do not understand how printing errors take so long to fix. Put the paper in the machine. Click File ---/ Print. Oh, there's an error? Fix it and do it again. Repeat until the invitations look like the document they're being printed from. Total time, a day maybe? How are these little printing errors causing 2 week delays. That seriously doesn't make sense. We were not kept up to date on the issues. The owner was dodging us rather than actually owning the problem. I finally walked in the store and asked for a daily update until they were done. I got one of the updates then nothing. When we visited the store for the second time to demand better service, the owner was gone and the staff had no clue what was going on. The invitations themselves ended up looking nice. They gave us a big discount. But the damage was done. We don't know how many attendees we have as we're about to travel to do our serious planning. We dealt with an unreasonable amount of stress and strain on something we didn't plan on fretting over. If we had been a young couple from Tarrytown with an over-attentive mother nursing this process along, I bet we might have received the proper level of attention. But the reality is they don't think our wedding matters. An apology or an inquiry into how things have been going after our terrible experience might have saved me from writing this review. But really they're just glad we're gone. They don't care about us, and never did. read more

They have a nice selection and I wasn't originally crazy about the way my family stationary came back so they redid it to make sure I was pleased. Terrible service. We placed a custom order, drove an hour to the store and their door was locked. The lights were on and the sign said "Come on in". There wasn't a note saying they gone on the door. We knocked on the door and called the number, no response. We waited from 12:45 to 1:30. read more

The embroidery is fine, pretty expensive but fine. If you feel like being treated rather poorly for wanting to get your initials on a pillow however, this is that place to be! It comes complementary with looks of, we don't really want you here, and I can't believe you can afford that. I have been a customer of Party Cat for over ten years. I have used them for print invitations and for embroidery. They have worked with me on embroidering over 13 stockings as I've added family members over the year. Well, this year something went wrong. I'm not sure what, but from not returning phone calls, to losing my stockings, to finally telling me they can't embroider my stockings (something about a loop) to me bringing more stockings before I found out that they couldn't embroider them, to finding them, to shutting down the store, I finally received my unfinished stockings one week before Christmas. This odyssey started in October. I am very disappointed in the customer service I received, or didn't receive. I'll find someone else to get my stockings embroidered in time for next year, but I am very, very disappointed in the way I was treated. I had a lovely picnic blanket monogrammed for $15, and they turned it around in less than 3 days (they said this wasn't a normal turn around, but they would do their best to accommodate my request). They had a great selection but we couldn't find just what we wanted in one of their books so they suggested that we do something custom. We told them the style, font and colors we wanted and they did a custom design for us to approve. We are thrilled with the invitations. They are simply gorgeous and within our budget. Just walking in the store makes you want to find a reason to have a party! Party Cat has been my go-to store for the past several years. If they don't have it, they find it or create it. Lately, I have been taking advantage of their custom design service. I just give them a basic idea of the type of party I am having, and they design something wonderful - for a much lower price than you would expect to pay for something so personal and special. I always get compliments on my daughter's birthday party invitations. People even have told me they anticipate our annual Christmas card because it is always so beautiful - all thanks to Party Cat. In addition to the stationery, the store if full of gift items. I can take care of at least half my Christmas gift list with one stop, and it's always where I go for my daughter's friend's birthday party gifts. I can run in and find something on the shelf or order something custom (who doesn't like receiving something personal?). Now that they are offering embroidery services, the gift options have even expanded. Unlike the previous post, I have experienced only the best customer service at Party Cat. I ordered 3 personalized plates back in November 2010. They were made poorly, and I requested they be redone. The owner agreed to redo 2 out of the 3 plates and even told me they had already sent them back once to be redone before I had even seen them. I have been to the store and have called numerous times, and I still do not have my plates. I spoke with the owner one month ago and she told me she would check into this and assured me she would call me the next day. But once again I haven't heard from her and still no plates. I would not recommend party cat because their customer service has been awful. Although I rely on reviews, I don't ever write them. That I decided to take time out of my day to write one is saying something. I ordered a swig water bottle for my niece with her name etched on it. As the bottle was a metallic pink, I mentioned that I was concerned that the etching mightn't show and whether I should use the painted on lettering or pick a different color. One staff member said she didn't know, the other said it would show nicely... so I went ahead and ordered it. I picked it up today, and sure enough, the etching is absolutely indiscernible. I asked if there was anything they could do and the staff member said that they made what I picked out and that there was nothing they could do. Obviously, if I picked something that wasn't going to work, I should have been told. At any rate, I don't have time to get something else, so my sweet niece is going to get an expensive, bland swig bottle for the holidays :( read more

I am a paper snob who loves the tradition of selecting, printing, and mailing actual invitations and letters. In the age of evites and email and texts it has become increasingly difficult to find anything that suits my old fashioned fancy. UNTIL, I found Party Cat. Party Cat is a mecca of fine paper and custom printing. And just when I thought my indulgent taste couldn't be accommodated any more, Party Cat throws out embroidery. I LOVE a good monogram and Party Cat can monogram and embroider anything that sits still. One of the greatest aspects of Party Cat aside from the above perks is that you don't need to be armed with what you want when you enter. Countless times I have walked into Party Cat clueless as to what I want and walked out with the perfect invitation or gift. One would think that such a top tier and high end store would break the bank but one would need to think again because Party Cat is about as reasonable as it gets for WHAT you get. The owner and the staff know their stuff, take pride in their product, and go out of their way to assist. One of my all time favorite purchases is a set of about 100 cups I ordered for a family member's party. I had some idea of what I wanted but just couldn't close the creative loop. Elizabeth pulled out of nowhere the most adorable and fitting design and now my family members want to know if the design is on file so they can order more of the cups in bulk. I have never been treated with such rudeness and disrespect when using any type of service, until now. From the initial phone call the representative, Elizabeth, was extremely short and made me feel as if I was bothering her. I was not warned once, if I make any changes to my proof there would be a $15 charge to change things as simple as the font...when I suggested they warn future customers ....so they don't make the same mistake as I did...she sharply said "it's listed on the on the website" I don't know about you but the reason I decided to have these done if obviously I have a career and don't have time to create them myself, let alone read entire websites, which I still can't find "the rules" anywhere. Lastly, I was told they only needed a credit card to start my order and I can pay with other means which I pick them up. When I came to pick up the invitations she had already charged my card without my permission or signature and tossed the bag on the table and said "thanks" ...not even giving me a second to look them. The inviations did turn out cute...but I aways treat people with kindness and because of my experience...I will never use Party Cat ever again.
