This was an accidental find but a great one. If you are looking for amazing views, great service and no fluff then this is the place for you. This is a family owned/ran winery that is build on the family property which I loved hearing that. The wines are all bold reds which were great. Given that they were all served at the same time we did not hear much about each wine but that was fine by me. I enjoyed my experience at this winery and I will certainly be back To note: there is a 90 min maximum. I was a little put off that there were plenty of open tables, we just finished our glass of wine when someone came over to pretty much "remind" us that we had met the 90min maximum aka get out is how we took it. We were put off because there were so many empty tables around us. Overall I would recommend and I would visit again.

Love the views. So peaceful & beautiful.

Every single time we come here, we have the best experience- From the moment you walk in and how they greet you & the views, the service, food, music , and especially the wine. This is by far one of our favorite wineries. So cozy & beautiful. So lucky to have Parrett Mountain so close by. We are a forever customer.

Absolutely stunning views, beautiful cabin with and outlook of the vineyards, we came in November so we also got wonderful fall colors. If you love wine you must come to Parrett Mountain Cellars great wine, charcuterie and the view just WOW!!! Marlene the wine maker and Sara were just so nice and accommodating. One of the best Northern Willamette Valley has to offer.

Exceptional experience & a beautiful view So nice to have a location like this in the mountains

We were in Newberg for the weekend for a friend's wedding and we had time to kill so we wanted to wine taste. Ya know, since we were in wine country of Oregon. Wanted something simple and casual so we came here. Had good reviews and pictures of the view were nice! Clearly this is not a winery as they do not make their own wine, but nonetheless it was a really nice visit. We're from southern California so doing on some lovely wine in literally a forrest was such a vibe. The service was good, snacks were good, and our wine flights were delightful! Update/edit 10.3.2021 From the owners comment below, it looks like they do make their own wine. Guess I misunderstood our server. Anywho, still a great place to visit!

Stopped by Parrett Mountain while in the Willamette Valley for some wine tasting. They do not take reservations, and we showed up right when they opened at 11 and were the only ones there for about a half hour. First, the place is beautiful! The tasting room is about 3 years old and looks like a mountain lodge. The view off the back deck is incredible- we spent a few hours enjoying it during our tasting. They basically do a pour-your-own, where they bring you pours of the whole flight and you go at your own pace. The woman working was incredibly kind and friendly. The wines weren't my favorite, which is the only reason this wasn't a 5 star review. Definitely a great spot to spend some time tho!

Parrett Mountain was the perfect first stop in wine country for us! Reed was so friendly and helpful in going through each of the wines on the flight. While it was raining when we were here, you can tell the views are spectacular, especially on a sunny day. Great cabin and cozy vibes, highly recommend!!!

Visiting from Northern California and just had to try this winery tucked up and away in the mountain forest...so unique and serene! Local lumber built the modern cabin-esque property and while grapes are imported from Washington the wines are made on the property. Fuller and bolder than the typical Oregon style we certainly enjoyed our tasting. Staff were friendly and helpful, no reservations required!

This location is beautiful! Surrounded by trees and shade and its just so green. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is knowledgable and very friendly. They have good snacks! I enjoyed the artichoke dip (had pita bread and crackers) and the charcuterie board had a delicious variety of meats, cheeses and fruits (grapes, dried mangos, dried cranberries or raisins). The wine selection is very attractive and the overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I'm a red wine drinker and I enjoyed the red wine flight and loved the cabernet. This is a winery I recommend and will definitely return to.

The tasting room in Sherwood is easy to find, has plenty of parking, and has lots of space indoors and outdoors. There's a large open main tasting room with several different types of seating, a private room upstairs, and lots of seating in the covered outdoor area. The views of Mount Hood and the surrounding vineyards are breathtaking! They have two main wine tasting options: the Vista Flight ($25) and Single Vineyard Flight ($40). If you're new to Chehalem Wines, I recommend the Vista Flight. Both are fantastic, and if you're a Stoller Group member, you get either one flight or one glass at this (or other member wine tasting rooms) for free each month. We love their Pinot Noir wines, especially the Corral Creek Vineyard Pinot Noirs. But they also have a delicious Grüner Veltliner and solid Chardonnays. While you're wine tasting, this is a great place to also grab a bite to eat, as they have a full kitchen and food menu. Their focaccia bread is super fluffy and SO good! Wine prices are on par with this part of the Willamette Valley, and some are actually below the average in this area for what I think are high quality wines. Finally, we always have amazing service here. The staff are friendly and helpful. We always love coming back here and can't wait for our next visit. If you're looking for a spot to go wine tasting in this area, I highly recommend making a reservation (although they take walk-ins).

Don't pass up the chocolate cookies, a fantastic pairing with the Ridgecrest Pinot. Great wine, food, fun people and right off of 99. We scheduled a tasting for 10a as their main event person happened to be getting married and we were glad they were able to accommodate us. Wine for Breakfast? Heck, it WAS 1p EDT so it worked out. Their tasting room wasn't necessarily elegant, but the glasses were all set up for us and we began promptly. It was a rainy morning and we did get to walk through one of the vineyards, eat some grapes from the vine, and hear about Chehalem. We also toured the winery with the tanks and workers being friendly and doing their thing as it was time to make the wine. The tasting was done very well and what was very interesting was we tried the same Chardonnay from a narrow glass and a wide glass and they tasted completely different. Who would have thunk it? The science of wine! We joined the club (they waive the tasting fees if you join) and our box just arrived (they ship to FL later so the heat doesn't ruin the wine), which made me write the review. I wish I knew about that before the great quarantine of 2020. Anyway, what an excellent experience from our host at Chehalem. They also have a tasting room in Downtown Newberg by the food trucks where the road splits. If we ever go back (we want to), we may stop to see what's new.

Walked in one day and was surprised to see how busy they were. Nothing too crazy, but the standing bar top was full so we hung out at the lower counter on the other side. The man pouring, Matt, was awesome. So friendly and funny, and handled the crowd well. Water and oyster crackers available as a palette cleanser. Their tasting menu and wines are SHOCKINGLY inexpensive. Maybe that's why I was so caught off guard at how good the wine was? He explained to us that they rent out their facilities and machines to other surrounding wineries which pays a lot of their overhead and therefore they don't need to charge absurd prices on their bottles. What a cool concept! Towards the end of our tasting, the crowd cleared out and we were the only ones left so Matt took us on a private tour around the whole facility. It was really awesome to see all the steps of the process, including the bottling/labeling machine which I had never seen before. Went into the barrel room too. The whole place is clean and nice. It was so fun to be shown around like that! He was so great. Even let us taste extra wines outside the tasting menu and a couple straight out of the tap on the holding tank! We bought a few bottles, how could you not when they're this cheap! The Pinot Gris stood out to me as it seemed much fruitier and juicier than what I've tasted before. We also loved the Maréchal Foch which they serve with a piece of dark chocolate, and the Port version of this as well! Sooo good. Thanks Matt and August cellars for giving us a great time! We will certainly be back!

Since the clay allows for a slow oxidation, the wine has softer flavors without the oak derived butter, vanilla and spice flavors. It's a middle ground between the oxidation of oak bottles and the more sterile stainless steal. We enjoyed the education and the wines!
