The first time my wife and I tried Parlor we immediately felt the warm and welcoming atmosphere that they have created there. The staff were on point in their recommendations on what to try from the dinner menu as well as the cocktail menu. We were greeted by many staff members including the General Manager Joe G., the awesome bartender Mia, our server Brynn even brought out the head chef to explain his pizza making process. Another server Zach circled around a couple times to check on us and the support staff never let our waters get below half. We felt very well taken care of. Our experience was so good that we have since made it our go-to spot and with the kitchen being open later than most spots in town it is very convenient for our schedule. OK- Wow! I live in San Clemente and I'm sad its taken me this long to check out Parlor! What a fabulous experience! We were immediatly greeted by Joe, one of the operating partners. He gave us a personal tour of the speak easy we heard about downstairs- So COOL for a private affair! Our server Brynn was amazing- Didn't miss a beat and made us feel like we'd known each other a lifetime! And the FOOD!! Amazing!! Joe brought us complimentary wings, and we tried the calamari, pizza, salads, and spaghetti- it was all delicious! The environment there is hip and lively with music GenX'ers really appreciate. Word has obviously spread because this place was busy and bustling- so a reservation is a good idea. Situated in the middle of El Camino Real street and directly across from the wonderful Vine Restaurant, Parlor is a nice mix of vibrant bar and outdoor patio scene combined with comfortable and quieter indoor seating. They have a small, but nice, selection of wines and draft beer. The menu offers a diverse variety of fish, beef, chicken, pasta, and pizza selections. We started with a delicious burrata and heirloom tomato appetizer accompanied by drizzled pesto, basil, and dollops of purred garlic. It is served with small slices of olive oil basted grilled bread. If in the mood for pasta, try the short rib bolognese or the rigatoni with mushrooms, a light butter sauce, and house made fennel sausage. Both were exceptional and provide very generous portions. The manager checked on us several times and the server could not have been more helpful with the entree selections and attentive throughout the meal. The manager brought us a rice ball/goat cheese starter as a complimentary offering from the chef. A rare, but welcomed, gesture. The only negative was loud and odd music selections playing in the background. That brings them to a 4.5 if that was an option. I'm hoping the owner reads this and dials back the volume and offers some non-distracting music .....like Italian instrumentals. Kudos to the owners, who have garnered the respect they deserve with outstanding sister restaurants Bloom and Ironwood. Nice dinner and staff. It's a good thing we made a reservation and had an early dinner as parking in San Clemente is a nightmare. We ordered the Fennel Sausage pizza, very tasty with perfect crust and decent amount of toppings. The Jack & ginger drink was good, it's always nice when you can taste the alcohol in a mixed drink. I met a friend last week right here in San Clemente at Parlor, which is located just across the street from Vine another one of the 6 remarkable restaurants in the RJB Restaurant Group. My hubby and I have eaten many times over the years we have lived in San Clemente at the Vine. There we always felt spoiled by partners Russ Bendel and Chef Jared Cook and then Gabe Whorley would create the perfect cocktail just by asking a few questions about personal preferences. This as well as experiences at the other RJB restaurants set great expectations for Parlor to meet. Parlor's operating partner Joe Guillena and Chef Jimmy McAndrews more than met the challenge. They have really created a magical space with inventive reimagining of the prior interior and food creations in the wood burning oven and rotisserie. Downstairs now has a speakeasy and dining/game room available for private parties. Joe pointed out so many of the special San Clemente touches like lights that used to be at Casa Romantica or the Pizza sign from Cassano's. Chef Jimmy and his team have put together such a nice menu and we sampled just a few of the dishes: Creamy Burrata & Heirloom Tomatoes - this included garlic confit, sweet basil sprouts, pistachio pesto and served with grilled house made sourdough. I really could have just had that as it was a hot and humid evening and this was so refreshing. It had just the right variety of textures and flavors. Sweet & Spicy French Cut Chicken Wings - these, what I would call lollipop wings, had just the right amount of spice with Calabrian chili honey, pickled celery and a smoked blue cheese-buttermilk dip. My friend loves her chicken wings and they were the favorite of the evening for her. That speaks volumes about the dish. Signature Crispy Porchetta - done on the rotisserie with Chermoula, pickled onions, watercress and sardinian fregola really was crispy yet tender. It was wrapped in pork belly so again, another dish with such attention to detail not only with the flavors but also the textures. I rather selfishly hesitate to tell everyone about Parlor and how nice it was to go to an early dinner on the back patio before the crowds really arrived to eat. Disabled hubby and I must eat outside and I do not want this to become too crowded for us to be able to go there. So do go try Parlor but have a fun drink at the bar first and then eat inside or later outside. read more

Nailed it! Pizza was on point. Regular cheese and half pepperoni for the kids and a truffle mushroom with fennel sausage for the connoisseurs, lol. The Burrata app was unique with more complexity than others. The drinks were balanced. Don't sleep on the Sunday ice cream, the team sourced the best small batch ice cream maker in all OC and you can taste the difference. The restaurant was gorgeous inside with a great patio. Came on a Friday night. It was vibrant with a great ambiance. Our 7pm reservation was for a community table where you share with others. It worked out perfectly. Friendly and still private. I had the arugula salad to start then the truffle toasted miritake mushroom garlic wood fired pizza. it was all delicious. Service was excellent. I came here for the first time a few Thursday nights ago when they first opened, and everything from the food to the service to the ambience was impeccable. I sat at the bar, which was nearly entirely full, and right away, I was greeted with a friendly face. The bartender definitely made me feel comfortable, and the pacing of the service was nice and relaxed. The mushroom pizza was phenomenal! I was not expecting the whipped herb ricotta dollops on top, but they gave a nice texture range to add to the delicious flavors of the garlic and mushrooms. My cocktail was delicious, and came at a recommendation after I described what I typically like. I can't remember the name of it, but it was the one with toasted Rosemary. It was well balanced, not too strong and not too sweet. Since that first time, I've been back twice, and I have had the arugula salad, as well as the margarita pizza, which were also amazing. I can't wait to get into the pastas, which look delicious. I typically sit at the bar, but I think I'll sit in the patio next time, which is super cute and would be good for a private party. The waitress almost read my mind when she helped me out with the menu and recommend the specials, appetizers. drinks and entrees. We started out with some appetizers. We had a delicious slice of sourdough topped with balsamic dressing and cheese. We also got these amazing drinks which I sadly do not know the name of. We also got the chicken wings which fell off the bone and were absolutely remarkable. They also gave us these fried rice balls with a pumpkin reduction, which was my highlight of the night. . Me and my Business bros all got different types of pasta. One of my friends however got the Chefs Special. Which was a Rib-Eye with mashed potatoes that was practically scoopable. Very tender and delicious. Everything looked great however I got the Mushroom Sausage Rigatoni. The best part was how you could tell the pasta was fresh. It was absolutely amazing. Even the owner came to our table to ask us how the food is. We all told him that it was amazing. This shows that the staff truly care about the customers, and put a lot of hard work into their food, and service. We all finished the night off with an icecream sundae, which had an assortment of toppings. I was so stuffed from my pasta and all the appetizers I had earlier however, It was amazing. Parlor is one of the new Italian spots in San Clemente. Owned by same group that owns The Vine (San Clemente), Bloom (San Juan Capistrano) and Sapphire (Laguna). We had the Margherita Pizza and the Bolognese pasta. As a Bolognese fan, I can say this pasta was delicious. Large chunks of short rib and a very good hearty sauce. The pizza is a bit fancier than it needs to be for a Marguerita. The pink sauce is tasty, the crust is authentic Neapolitan. Not a basic pizza, but definitely worth a try. Overall giving this place a great review on the sheer taste of that Bolognese. Wow. read more

I've been going to the parlor now every Friday night with my wife and granddaughter. It is very consistent. The food is excellent. The Quality is definitely above par. for instance tonight they had the salmon which was wild as opposed to farm raised. The staff is top-notch from the manager, Joe to great servers like Sebastian highly recommend the chicken Parm to substitute the fettuccine with spaghetti.
