This doughnut shop specializes in layered donuts and savory donuts. I started with their best seller - Maple donut. The icing was generous, the dough was stretchy and I could smell the maple! I also ate the margherita pizza and the crispiness, cheese, cheese, tomato, basil all compliment each other and make a great margherita donut. On top of that, I also tried the blueberry hill - the smell of blueberry wasn't as strong and a little overshadowed by the powdered sugar but nice regardless. Overall, I was impressed. They are far away from Dallas but I hope they expand more! Was looking for a sweet treat while in McKinney and I saw this donut shop. It's small, but warm and inviting inside. They have tons of options and even do savory donuts. I got the French toast and 2 strawberry shortcakes. The cashier was friendly and danced to MJ as he prepared my donuts to go. The French toast (no photo) was my favorite of the two. If you want to leave and come back when they're ready, they take down your number which is really convenient. i had a great experience here, even with coming 15 minutes before close. who i assume was the owner or manager was so polite and explained to us the menu and ready to glaze process, and you can tell he genuinely enjoyed helping us. the menu was much more extensive than i realized, if i came again id definitely come at an earlier time to try all the variety. i ordered the plain jane for myself and it was a great texture and taste. the interior was really nicely decorated and the logos were so memorable! i was seriously thinking of buying a mug as a gift. i unfortunately only see myself coming back again if i'm in the area, but it was a really great visit! i definitely recommend if you're looking for a sweet treat and a coffee in the morning. read more

I bought a dozen of these donuts. They are ok but definitely not the best donuts I have ever tasted. The coconut cream donut was pretty rich. I would not get it again. The chocolate donut was good. The raspberry pistachio donut was not very good. I still have some other flavors to try, but I doubt I will return here. The staff is very nice. Also, these are very expensive pastries and not worth the high price. Also, the flavors I ordered were not exactly right. I did not order the campfire but got one. They substituted. When you have had a bad night unable to sleep and you have watched the sun start to rise and you become upset you are up to watch rise BUT then you realize that Parlor opens in 30 minutes and you could be there in 20 and the day is saved!! No one was there as i was the first customer of the day but when they get busy lots of room to queue up!! It is hard to describe the donuts but they are fantastic. They seem to be a folded dough so they were nicely textured and firm but also soft inside but a crispy feel on the outside close to a crois-nut but not the same. I went with churro, double chocolate, lemon curd, strawberry and Cookies and cream. I went for the lemon curd first. The cream topping is lite and fresh and perfectly sweet. The lemon glaze is sweet with good lemon flavor but not tart. It was perfect. Unfortunately my kids got to the rest before i could return for more but they loved them too. There are some tables and chairs inside and it's a pretty spacious place. The staff is really nice and accommodating as well. A line appeared that ran out the door after we were served. I spent some time looking up their menu online, trying to figure out what I wanted, and I noticed that a lot of people complain that they're not a lot of details about what is on or in the donut. So the reviews helped me make my decision. Maple Bacon - my fav. There are a lot of maple bacon doughnuts out there, and this one was pretty good. I wish it had a little bit more bacon on top as you can tell by my phone photo it only had four crumbles. Blueberry - was actually my first choice. And while I liked it, I was really expecting it to have actual blueberries inside of it or maybe a blueberry compote inside. Nope. I'm glad I bought the bacon and maple as my back up. Raspberry pistachio - this was my daughters pic and it was pretty good as well. However, I really wanted some thing inside like a raspberry compote. Coconut Cream - (not pictured) this was my wife's choice and she really liked it. I thought it was good. The cream filling, satisfied my craving of having some sort of filling, where the others lacked. The place was super hipster and I love the decor. Our new clinic director stopped by to meet the doctors and other staff, and she brought these along with her. I wouldn't call them doughnuts; they're pastries with flavored toppings. I loved the maple bacon. It combined the sweet and salty, very well. I had a small bite of some others, but at the end of the tastings, I still favored the maple bacon. Some shops that serve maple bacon, don't use quality bacon and the maple is usually lacking. With Parlor, you get the full punch. Overall, I don't think I could eat these often. These doughnuts use a croissant like dough. This is a really unique twist on the normal doughnut, and I liked how the dough was flaky and crunchy but still soft! I tried the coconut vanilla creme filled one ($4). They only had 2-3 filled options, while the rest of the flavors (8+) were just changing the toppings. They did say you could fill any doughnut, which is something I might do next time! I didn't want only the flavor on the top of the doughnut because I think the flavor to dough ratio is important. I tried a few of the donut holes. They are more like doughnut squares (similar to Taco Cabana's sopapaillas in that they are more dense). I thought theses were okay. The powdered sugar and jelly can be a little oversewed for the size of the donut square. I prefer the larger doughnuts. A beautiful interior! A few tables and couches. All bases are the same, which means the icing and toppings are the differentiator. And what a difference in the type of icing here vs other donut/pastry shops!
