My usual place was closed today so I gave Rainbow Donuts a try. I was quite pleased. Pros: GREAT prices, private parking lot, nice variety of "normal" donuts, plenty of breakfast sandwiches/sausage rolls, and lots of drinks to choose from including flavored coffees. They threw in a couple of extra donut holes too! The donuts/holes were yummy and fresh although not hot...which is fine with me. The older man that helped me was super nice, even with a language barrier. They do take plastic. Cons: Awkward to get from parking lot to front door since door faces a very busy street with a narrow sidewalk and there's no direct from parking lot door. The waiting-in-line area is very small...maybe enough room for about 4-5 people. The lady (dressed a little crazy but not completely out of the ordinary) was a little on the rude side...both to the nice older man that works there as well as to the customer she was helping. Perhaps it wasn't quite rudeness but a personality thing. She did smile though. Overall, I would be happy to visit Rainbow Donuts again. It will not replace my usual place but I was mostly happy with the experience. read more

The place changed owners Nothing is the same We came here by recommendation from a lady in a Facebook group im in and it took us a while to get here. This Sunday morning we woke up with craving for donuts so I took the kids and drove about 20 minutes. It was so worth it!!! Super friendly, super delicious, and super convenient! I've been driving past this place for almost half a year, and finally stopped by on a Wednesday morning (for those hump day donuts...). Plenty of parking, don't be deceived by the K ave entrance. There's plenty of parking in the back if you pull in from 18th or from K. There's a good selection of standard donuts, donut holes, and kolaches! The prices aren't explicitly marked on the trays, but it's stated on a board above the display case. I kinda just winged it and bought 2 smallish donuts (one glazed and one chocolate) and 2 small kolaches. Really nice server threw in a handful of donut holes for free. A nice surprise! The building itself is quite unassuming. But the staff was helpful, cheerful and completely pleasant. They've got a variety of sausage rolls, donuts, even breakfast sandwiches. We've had a few glazed donuts and donut holes, which are both excellent. They have been quite generous with their holes, tossing in few extras. So nice. Looks like a family run business and they've been happy to serve us every time we've come in. We were especially excited to see cappuccinos advertised on their window. Sadly, their coffee and cappuccinos come from a machine I think I saw at the DMV in 1987. It tasted like coffee with flavored creamer. A little disappointing. Coffee aside, this place is fantastic! AS GOOD AS IT GETS! I've tried a lot of donut shops (in plano and elsewhere). This place has some of the FRESHEST and BEST TASTING donuts you'll ever find. Almost always fresh, no matter when you go, even between 9am-12pm. They're usually still warm!!!! (especially regular glazed and chocolate covered. Other ones are still super fresh though maybe not warm). They also have great kolaches. I especially like the jalepeno sausage roll. The dough is always fresh and tasty and great sausage flavor. Really good service too. Its run by a family (im pretty sure). Father, mother, and daughter. All of which are very friendly. I normally go sat or sun and drive across town just for their donuts cause other donut shops dont come close. This is a REAL GEM. It puts to shame other donut shops who make everything at 4am and stuff is stale by 8am. IF YOU WANT FRESH, WARM, DELICIOUS DONUTS, GO TO RAINBOW DONUTS.
