Genuinely SO surprised, I ordered some donuts for delivery (the mixed dozen), and I honestly think these are my favorite donuts I've tried in DFW so far. I've tried a lot of the more well-known donut spots, but the ones here are fresher, tastier, and so well-made. I think these blueberry cake one was life-changing LOL. Will be coming back! read more

Awesome selection and friendly staff. I had a kolache and regular donuts but they did wide have a variety of both.

Sugar boy is a small unassuming donut shop from the outside but inside .... Still small unassuming. It ain't fancy but do them donuts make up for that. They have the standard donuts, and then the spesh ones like nutella and bisquella, which is basically biscoffy flavored nuttella. The spesh ones are instagram worthy of course. My favorite, spinach and cheese, not a donut I know. The Mrs loves the cinnamon glazed donut holes and they also have a bunch of different drinks which are good but they are kinda pricey for the amount you get. The lady who works here is always nice. I'm guessing she owns the place. She's usually flying solo so be patient and you will be rewarded with doughy goodness. read more

Little bit of seating. The kids love this spot. Good selection of donuts with great taste. Coffee was decent. Great Saturday morning spot

Highly recommend this place. My daughter loves this place. The donuts and kolache are fantastic.

Very typical donut shop. Tastes like the vast majority of other donut shops. Limited selection.

So not my favorite. It wasn't bad just not great. The oil seemed a little off on the lemon old fashion but J enjoyed the option. The fritter had nice apple pieces. The cronut was okay. A little dense vs flakey. read more

I loved this place for their cinnamon sugar Nutella filled donut, but they changed it to glazed donut with Nutella. They said it was too hard to fill the sugar donuts, and glazed taste better. I'm not buying that, bc it worked fine for years. Please bring back the cinnamon sugar nutella filled donuts! The glazed does not taste better. read more

My new go to mom & pop donut shop. DonuI always prefer mom and pop donuts - they're inexpensive, fresh & made with love and care. As always, I got a glazed donut to test how oily, sweet, and crispy their donuts are - if you mess up a glaze donut, you'll never have my business again. We also grabbed a few kolaches, white sprinkle donut, cinnamon old fashioned, and a creme filled glazed. There is not one single thing wrong about any of these pastries. The perfect crunch (mind you we always stop by within an hour of opening time so of course the donuts are fresh), the softest inside, glaze is never overdone or too sweet, the donuts are light and fluffy and you're honestly not able to pinch more than an eighth of a teaspoon of grease out of these things. Definitely will be back to try all their other beautiful & yummy pastries! read more

I am a very lucky gal because this place is walking distance from my home. Needless to say this is our donut shop. You cannot just have one glazed donut. It's physically impossible! My girls love their donut holes. I LOVE the chocolate glazed donuts. Their kolaches are the bomb! The staff is always so friendly and they are always giving us free donuts holes when we go and buy way too many donuts and kolaches. It's the perfect spot to go in and out before going to work or better yet picking up a couple of dozens to take to work for your peeps!! Here is a picture of my daughter shoving half of a kolache. I didn't want to post her face which is why is zoomed to her mouth only . We went and had breakfast there because they also have good coffee for us to enjoy! read more

I was expecting to be impressed by this place but honestly not that much better than DD. I got 2 dozen donuts. Some donuts naturally had holes in the middle and some were full circles (if that makes sense). I assumed the full ones were well, filled with something (ie: boston cream), but they were just empty. read more

Donuts are ok. Try to buy early in the morning because they become dry and hard but afternoon. I had their cronut at 8 am and it was delicious but the one at 12 was extremely hard to chew. I recommend going to Jaram's in dallas for soft and fresh cronuts read more

Their donuts are pretty but I found them extremely overpriced and not that good. I got the cronut (a whopping $4) and it was dense and not flaky. It looked pretty but tasted very sad. The fancy donut I got was a bit better but not worth the price tag. It was +$8.00 for two donuts that were lackluster. Just down the road I can get to amazing donuts for $3-4 total. Not worth the stop. read more

I don't leave reviews often but. Everyone says that donut shops are a dime a dozen but that's not true about sugarboy. I've got five children and they love their donuts! We don't go anywhere else not even one or out of town on a trip because the kids complain that it's not their favorite donut shop! I've never been to a place that makes you feel more like family, they remember your face and they always ask how your kids are! I feel like every time I come there they take care of us and if you don't see something you are looking for most likely make it for you!! (If they can) And let's not Forget the insanely creative donuts they make I mean I'm blown away every time I go in with a new thing they make! Unicorn donuts, mermaid donuts, on the beach donuts, rainbows, and galaxy donuts! And for their happy birthday donuts they go out of the park with all their creations they can make just ask! read more

We found our regular local donut place! The owners were so nice and the girl at the front was also very sweet. Individual donut review: Bacon maple: so good! Exactly like you would imagine it to be. Heart: my 5 year old absolutely loved it! She also enjoyed the little candies Strawberry mochi: my 2 year old found it to difficult to chew. I've had mochi donuts before, and this one was a little too dense for me. Reesces: are you kidding me? So good! Exactly what you'd expect! Strawberry Nutella cronut: very good flavor wise but a bit dense if you're used to Paris Baguette. It was very "American" in the texture profile. Hot dog bun: friggin delicious and simple! Not too rich. Make sure you specify that you want the larger one. We got a small one and ended up squabbling over it. Donut holes: ok usually I wouldn't even bother reviewing these but they were really light and airy!! 100% recommend! Coffee: I got Hazelnut for my hubby. I got a small and he was sad I didn't get a medium. Get more for your hubby and don't forget to size up like I did . I'm definitely coming back! read more

Delicious and inexpensive, and a lovely neighborhood donut shop that's several steps above many of the close by smaller, local donut shops The owners were kind and helpful! They have wide savory options, and the donuts are delicious! Also, CRONUTS. They have some adorable, decorated donuts for kids, too To top it off, they have many drinks including coffee smoothies, flavored lattes, and more with boba or popping boba!! Super excited to discover this spot. Will be coming back more when I'm visiting home! read more

Picking up kolaches from here and having them for breakfast has become a Saturday morning ritual for me my boyfriend and our dog! They are delicious! I especially like that the bread doesnt get soggy even when warmed up. I've also sampled a few different items: * The danishes are good, not the best I've had but good. The cream cheese is the best in my opinion. The ones with fruit have a slight metal taste to me like they're from a can. * The "cronut" I've tried twice once filled with custard and once with cream cheese. Its kind of like a thicker, crispier donut. I didnt care much for the custard one as it was covered in raw sugar, which made it too sweet. The cream cheese one however was quite delicious and was dusted in powdered sugar instead. The cream cheese ones go pretty quickly so snatch it up if they have it! The coffee is so-so. I've ordered regular coffee and a cappuccino and neither were out of this world or very strong. *TIP* They have a machine were you can pour ready made cappuccinos like at a gas station but they also have an espresso machine behind the counter to make by hand. Just make sure to specify because they will assume you want the first option. read more

Caution, the glazed donuts here are magnificent and you will not be able to eat just one. I came here for 2 plain glazed donuts, left, and they were so good that I came back for more the same day. The only mistake I made was only ordering 2 donuts the first time. The second time I went, I decided to get a whole dozen and I may or may not have eaten half the box in one sitting. The plain glazed donuts and the donut holes are moist and divine. I doubt I'll ever find another donut in the area that comes close to how good these are. I've also had the chocolate covered donut and it's great too! The croissant kolaches are so worth it. Skip out on the regular kolaches and get the croissant breading and you will not be disappointed. Both the regular and the jalapeño kolaches are spot on! The service is great. Everyone is nice and attentive. read more

We tried this place on the recommendation of a friend and I am so glad we did! They have donuts of course but so much more. I will say the glazed donuts were amazing but my absolute favorite idea they had is that they make what are normally stuffed donuts empty so you can put whatever kind of filling inside-fruit, custard etc. The prices are very reasonable. The dozen glazed were only $8. They also have kolaches which looked amazing! I will be back to try them. The one with the bacon looked especially amazing! There will be one on my plate next time :) read more

My daughter always likes donuts from here, but honestly, I've never been impressed. Apple fritters, one of my staples, aren't big and are usually stale tasting. No donuts I've tried are any better than something you'd get from a grocery store. On the bright side, prices aren't too bad, so you don't feel like you're being taken to the cleaners while eating a sub-par donut from here. Oh yeah, the cleaners next door went out of business, so it's not even as convenient to be taken to the cleaners as it used to be. read more

Honestly I wasn't impressed. This place has great reviews and I've even been here a few times but I just don't love their donuts. I'm simple when it comes to donuts. I don't like anything too sweet or too fancy. When I go to donut shops, I always try a glazed donut and maybe a chocolate frosted (without sprinkles). Those are always the best measure of how their donuts truly are. I love big, fluffy yeast-risen donuts, don't really crave cake donuts as much. I stopped in today on a late Tuesday morning and got a glazed donut plus their fruit+custard cronut. The glazed donut here was tiny and light. Since the donut was small, the glaze was overpowering. There's a picture posted with someone's comments saying best glazed donuts ever and that is a total lie. I've had plenty of donuts and their glazed wasn't better than the rest. The fruit and custard cronut was ok. The dough was chewy but needing a bit more crust on the outside. The custard and fruit didn't really add much spark. Didn't feel like this place was that special. Just ok. Happy that they are doing well though! Just not the shop for me read more

Do not try these, unless you want to become a donut junky. These donuts are addictive!!!! They are so light, fluffy and tasty. They have the right amount of sweet glaze. I dare anyone to eat just one, you can't!!! Forget Krapy Kream donuts, they have nothing on the Sugarboy donuts. read more

Excellent place for donuts. The yeast donuts are lighter and more airy than most I've had. I had a raspberry filled and cream filled chocolate long john both of which were extremely tasty. Wow! Didn't know what to expect as this Donut shop popped up about thirty seconds drive from my home. "Boy" was I pleasantly surprise. Great selection of donuts and other breakfast sandwich items. Some unexpected items like frosted waffles which our little girls are eager to try. I highly recommend this place for donuts, breakfast sandwiches, kolaches (which were also great BTW) and specialty drinks. Go check it out! read more

Terrible donut shop. Donuts are always stale & not fresh, especially the donut holes. They leave them sitting out with the bag open already prepared which allows the air to get to them. Maybe they should fold the bag closed. I always ask for the ones in the case but always happen to be handed the ones not sitting open on the counter. Then when I have to go back inside & get a replacement bag the young girl with the color hair has an attitude. read more

This was our favorite spot for weekend donuts since moving here. The owners have always been very kind and thoughtful. Recently however, there have been new hires of college age-ish who are very annoying to work with. We have tried three times to come back here but I think we are done with how inconsiderate these kids are. They give us a feel of being rushed during selection of donuts bc as soon as a selection is made, they immediately say "and what else?" Without giving us a moment to browse the selection. After we select our donuts, they literally squish them all into a bag. Then donut holes get squished on top of them. Who wants to eat a flattened donut? Someone please train these people on customer service or we won't be coming back. read more

I was really hoping for greatness. I have hit at least 150 donut shops in the Dallas area and all the positive Yelp reviews got me excited for this one and sadly it disappointed. The donuts are light along the lines of a donut shop like Shin's (just not quite as tasty). The service was very friendly. Plain Glaze - Above Average. Crisp with good flavor Boston Cream Donut - Very good. Crisp with pretty nice bavarian cream filling. The chocolate is tastier than most places Cinnamon twist - Slightly above average Devil's Food - Just Average at best. Not near the top cake donut I have tried. Maple - Above Average. The Cronut - Maybe I came on a bad day. I have tried a number of Cronuts in the area, and it was the worst I had ever had. I couldn't even eat more than two bites. It so dry and very little taste at all. So many people raved about these, I expected much better than what I received. I almost feel like they were leftovers from the day before, it was that bad. If this was your neighborhood donut shop, you could do worse for sure but it is no where near the top tier of donuts shops Dallas has to offer. read more
