My wife and daughter brought home half a dozen donuts the other day. They had a really positive experience ordering the donuts with the nice lady behind the counter and actually talked about it at home for a while giving me every detail of the experience. So while I cannot personally vouch for being there, I did try at least 1/4 or more of each donut. I was going to consider going through every flavor I tried, but honestly, they all tasted great. Every flavor was fun and offered something different that was honestly incredibly tasty.I ended up liking two flavors more than the others, but both my wife and daughter enjoyed others more too, so it depends on what you like. I'll have to go in and try more one day for myself. The place did look pretty cool when I walked by I'll try to leave an update or something. You should check out it if you enjoy sweets. read more

Wow wow wowwwwww. This place is insanely amazing! Found this while we stayed at the resort nearby and I'm glad I had my cheat days. I got the sweet and savory donuts, both are amazing, very light and addicting! The chicken bacon ranch is perfectly curated. The chicken is very soft and well blended with the donut. It's crispy and light and afterall it doesn't make you feel heavy and gross. The PB&J is perfectly sweet where it's not too sweet and not too filling as well. It's not your typical peanut butter and the strawberry jam inside gave a nice balance. They also put fresh strawberries on top. Mind you, I'm not a donut eater and this place is an exception. Finally got around to trying Parlor Doughnuts after hearing a lot of people compare this to Sidecar (my favorite donut place). It's located right on PCH so parking can be a little tricky but I love how you can enjoy your donut and walk right on the beach. There is a wide selection of flavors to choose from but do note that all of the flavors use the same plain base donut... What makes each flavor different is the icing and toppings on each one. As for the donut itself, i would describe it as a cross between a traditional yeast donut and a cronut (croissant donut); very crisp on the outside and has layers throughout the donut with a slight airy and chewy texture. I feel like you can't compare this place to Sidecar as Sidecar has more of a focus on yeast and cake donuts and the bases to their donuts are all different depending on the flavor. read more

My wife and I stumbled upon this place after our date night while we were on the hunt for the proverbial sweet treat. Absolutely stellar donuts. Fun decorations inside and a big selection that feels a more like a donut art display than a typical donut case. After an extended deliberation (yah no line today)... I went with the caramel turtle donut, about 450 calories, so definitely a special-treat situation. Soft on the inside and really well made. A bit of guilt when I ripped a large wide bite into the closest corner. Yum and I had the sugar mouth corners and crumbs on my shirt as my badge of honor. Worth it! It's on PCH so parking can be tricky, but the ocean view makes up for it and feels fitting since the donuts are just as sweet. The server was helpful in choosing a fun variety as it was our first time there. The place is rather small but it's cute and clean and most people don't plan on eating their donuts in the donut shop anyways. We loved the dough on these and the fun flavors. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because the cream on top tasted like oily fake cream rather than fluffy homemade cream which I expected with the "made fresh daily marketing". I would definitely recommend these though over a normal doughnut shop and a pumped because I just discovered they have one in my hometown in UT! read more

I have been waiting a long time for this location to open up and it finally happened! I went to the grand opening and was the second person to receive a shirt and buy some doughnuts! I am fan of the doughnuts and the quality of this establishment so far is keeping the Parlor Doughnuts reputation high and steady. I believe I met one of the owners; she and the employees were very polite and definitely made me feel like an appreciated customer! The doughnuts were all good. I would not call these a traditional doughnut, but if you are a fan of doughnuts, you will like these doughnuts. These doughnuts are definitely made with quality ingredients. My favorite is the carnival vanilla glaze. Very traditional and a solid doughnut. I bought a couple of the mini doughnuts with the base cinnamon sugar cover and they tasted good without any topping on them. The bread of these doughnuts are good enough to eat alone and only get elevated when they add their other toppings on these little pieces of heaven! Parlor opened Saturday Jan 3 in time for the new year! This place definitely reminds me of sidecar donuts for those of you who are from So Cal. I think sidecar is still better because their flavors are a bit more complicated with a wider variety in donut styles. Anyways, this is the 100th location and they're having a promotion for the day - free donut. Fare warning, the deal doesn't show up when you sign up for the app because they say it'll take 30 minutes. Service - there were workers outside promoting the store and giving advice. The individual who helped me with my order was not as friendly... but hey it's the opening weekend. Environment - glass cases filled with donuts and a fancy espresso machine at the end. There are about 5 small round tables for you to enjoy your purchases indoor. The ambience is nice and the store is pretty spacious. I can see it getting crowded during high beach season. I got their famous French toast and blueberry. Both were very sweet, too sweet. But that's just a personal preference and also comparing them to sidecar lol All in all, will come if im in the area. Good addition for Main Street though! Food - their brand is essentially flakey donuts and j think they pretty much deliver. It does remind me of a "cronut" but less buttery and softer. Parlor Doughnuts just opened today in downtown Huntington Beach on PCH, and wow -- what an amazing addition to the area! This is their 100th store, and they absolutely did it right. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. There was a friendly greeter who explained what to expect, walked us through the menu, and even gave solid recommendations. There were plenty of cashiers, the line moved surprisingly fast, and everyone was attentive and welcoming. You do need to download the app to scan rewards for free doughnuts, which was easy and totally worth it. Now let's talk about the doughnuts -- hands down the best in town. These are not your average doughnuts. They're gourmet, fluffy, big, and insanely delicious. I tried the Blueberry Hill and the Turtle, both recommended by the greeter, and they were unreal. Perfectly cooked, soft on the inside, beautifully layered, and packed with flavor. Honestly, some of the best doughnuts I've ever tasted. The space itself is great too -- plenty of indoor seating, clean restroom, and a fun location right next to Handel's Ice Cream, making it a perfect dessert stop (or double dessert stop ). I haven't been to their San Diego spot before so it was great to hear they're opening one here in Huntington and I saw a posting about it via instagram so I had to check this out. They have all kinds of different flavors which makes them unique! So if you sign up on their app, you can get a donut for free so I tried it out and I got one of the s'mores donut and it was delicious. Once you get there prepare for a line especially if it's a weekend! Definitely this place is more of a higher end donut similar to sidecar, parking is a bit tricky over here but just a walk over. We have been coming here since the day that it opened . I became a rewards memeber and it's our little treat. This morning I received an email telling me I had a BoGO offer . I brought in my 3 toddler grandkids to pick a special donut. When I went to order the lady behind the counter said they don't have an offer like that . I showed her my email and she said "well I don't know anything about that" and charged full price . My husband tried to talk to a manager and they said oh I have no idea. Again I tried to show the email and she said it must be somewhere else . The customer service was very rude . And as much as we loved these expensive donuts we won't be back. Where have I been hiding to only find out about layered doughnuts now?? We had just finished cooking on the sand and were walking back to our car when we noticed the new storefront. The interior is modern, looking like every other coffee shop but with the display case filled with treats, we were sirened in. Service was indifferent, two people were behind the counter and both didn't bother to greet us or ask us anything. We stood in front of the cash register for an awkward while before I initiated some assistance. It was around $4.50 for each standard layered glazed doughnut. We tried French Toast, Sandy Beach and Maple Bacon. Man, these doughnuts are so good, 10/10. Deal with the crappy service, pay that premium donut price, and enjoy these pucks of joy! I'd recommend French Toast, though it was on par with Sandy Beach. I loved the glaze being able to seep through every nook and cranny. The light dusting of sugar on top was something I didn't expect to do so much. As I'm typing this, I've downloaded the app, made an account to get a $5 coupon.
