Love the small town feel great beat garden, all some burgers, friendly staff,got to give it a try

One of my fvs. Hot spots in town. Great for a glass of Guinness their fish & chips is better than Boston's Ma. F&C. It has a outdoor patio in summer. Bikers luv it. This place is your average bar with Bar food. I ordered a chicken wrap. It was pretty good with the tots. We also ordered the voodoo shrimp appetizer. DELICIOUS! read more

Went to Parkside to get to dinner with friends and family. Have loved the food in the past, have gone many of times and been so disappointed lately. Service was great by wait staff, however the owner was a real jerk. He clearly had too much to drink and was baggering staff while sitting at bar hounding staff. He actually started yelling at kitchen staff. It was very unprofessional and embarrassing. Im pretty sure he is involved in the community as well. I would expect better behavior out of an elected official. Cant wait for BBQ place to open up. Maybe the stellar staff can get jobs there and be more appreciated. Shame that place used to be top notch. read more

The absolute best place to eat in Huntley area! Food is amazing and service is amazing!

Philly cheese steak is very good! Pot roast sandwich is very good! The mini burgers are absolutely a must have. The outside seating area is nice . Inside is a townie bar. Went to parkside last night with several friends small celebration for my bday . For a very busy evening the staff handled everything great . One way I judge service is my glass . It was never empty . Staff and owner very attentive and always asked if our group needed anything else. The owner himself was involved helping the staff which is outstanding . Very disappointed. I've been a few times before and each time the experience gets worse. We met up with friends last night. The waitress was nice but not very on top of things. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich and was asked how he wanted it cooked, so once it was determined it was chicken not a hamburger he wants he is still brought a hamburger. We needed to ask about my other friends meal, which was just a wrap a couple of time before it was brought. She and the runner were very apologetic, but unfortunately that's all we heard them doing to all the tables around us. Too many mistakes for not a busy night. The waitress at the table next to us was in the middle of lighting her cigarette (in the outdoor seating area) when she told that table the food will be up shortly and then just after that about 6 (mixture of kitchen and waitstaff) staff members stood around the entrance into the outdoor seating area smoking right in front of all the people waiting for service!! At least go behind the building to slack off at your jobs and not blow all your smoke into my face. It made me sick to think their nicotine filled fingers were all over my food. So very unprofessional and I don't think I will be returning anytime soon read more

Horrible place, at first it was good then some drunk bartender or waitress doesn't matter off the clock coms from the slot machine and announces how she could hear me across the "tiny bar" as it is and how she works there but yet "off the clock" and calls me a mother fucker and continues on with swear words etc. not really professional for your reputation off the clock atttt the bar you work at then to top it off the woman that was our bartender backs the drunk woman that "works at the bar" up and tells meeeeee to leave. And they laugh and continue to laugh as we are outside... bad service... waited for 15-20 mins when I walked in even to get a menu or to order a drink for a tiny bar I could spit in and fill the room and then that drama happens. Doesn't matter if you hear me a mile away on the clock or not you respect the place you work at and the customers after that experience place is a total dump hire professionals or people who don't get drunk and play slots all night and drink after their shift at the place they work at. I will be filing a report with the BBB as well. If your dumb bartender doesn't know that means it means better business bureau. Really liked the place till now. Reallllllllly bad experience. I even walked back in with 20$ cash to tip the bartender and she refused and and continued laughing with the off duty drunk woman from the slots. It's huntley.... you can find way better food and service anywhere else even 10 down the street to Lake in the Hills/ Algonquin. I never write reviews but this was the last straw. I wish I could rate Parkside more stars!!! My boyfriend and I LOVE coming in here! The food is always great! (This place makes the best tater tots! The atmosphere is great for watching sports games or just grabbing a bite and a drink! I love the outdoor patio, especially at night in the summer! And the price is always great! read more

After reading other reviews, it sounds like I had an abnormal experience but one that I feel compelled to write about. I was there with a couple of friends on a Saturday afternoon. At first, it was promising - great beer garden, lots of seating (with umbrellas for shade) and the food coming out smelled delicious. Unfortunately, that's where the good feelings ended. After waiting 20 minutes for a waitress to stop by, we finally were able to flag one down to get our drink order in. We were in kind of a time crunch but thought we'd have enough time to eat. WRONG. Apparently, there was an hour wait for food but our waitress neglected to inform us. After 45 minutes of waiting for a fried appetizer, we flagged down the waitress again and told her to cancel the order and bring us the bill for drinks as we had to be somewhere. She was extremely rude and at that point, informed us it was an hour wait for food. If we had known beforehand, we would have gone somewhere else and saved Parkside Pub for a later day when we had time to relax and linger; unfortunately, that was not the case on this day. After she cancelled the food, she comes back and literally throws the bill on the table and walks away. We all looked at each other, shocked because we've never seen such a poor attitude. I understand if she was busy or frazzled but there was absolutely no excuse for that. I rudely (I admit) said she was rude and she comes back and yells at me that I should stop blaming her for the slow food and it's not her fault. I agree that it wasn't her fault for the slowness of the kitchen but it was her fault for not informing us at the beginning of the wait and for taking so long to even acknowledge our table. And there was no excuse to throw the bill (and it's holder) at our table and walk away. This is the pub that throws the Turkey Testical Festival every year and I have no idea how they handle those crowds. Hopefully with different help. And even though the food smelled amazing, there is no way I will go back to give it a try. read more

I went there yesterday afternoon about 1:00 PM and the place had a pretty good crowd already. We waited a couple of minutes for a booth and in the mean time ordered a round of drinks. We all had the Revolution IPA. Once seated we were greeted buy the owner Bubba. We ordered the Nachos Grande app which were delicious and plentiful. After finishing about half the nachos we decided to order lunch. We ordered the 12 piece shrimp dinner, the bacon-bleu burger and the shrimp po'boy. Everything was exceptional. This place really takes pride in serving quality food at a decent price. Since the snow was coming down pretty good by now, we decided to stay and play Golden Tee and have a few more round of drinks. The staff was very friendly and attentive. This will be our new go to place, and can't wait for there beer garden to open. read more

The worst customer service we've had - in - ever! It all started when we were seated and two of us were given one menu. Then our waitress came to take our drink order, we asked what type of ale they had and she said, "I don't know what you mean." She was clearly experienced and was near confrontational and sarcastic not knowing what ale was. She took our drink order and never returned. The place was packed outside and only had two waitresses. I look over and see our waitress sitting at a table talking to a couple. We got up and left. If a server is having a bad day, don't take it out on your customers. We'll never return. Food is not bad if they can get your order right. Watch out when you call in for a take out. The guy who usually answers is real rude. (And), I believe he is the owner or the mgr. Occurs every time we call. Guess when your the only bar with food and nothing eles but fast food around, you can treat people how you want and it doesn't matter!? read more

4-star rating for the food only. My son and I both had the BBQ pork sandwich, which was pretty darn good...a little spicy and served with coleslaw on top. I had the sweet potato fries, which were excellent. We sat outside on the patio, which was nice, BUT the music was so loud that we could barely hear each other talking and I was really surprised to see a lot of people smoking. Didn't know that was allowed at restaurants in IL, even outside? Waitress wasn't very good either. She took our order, then basically disappeared for a long time (hanging out at the bar). Some young guy from the kitchen brought us our food. I wanted a drink, but the waitress was nowhere to be found. Speaking of drinks, there is no drink menu, which we thought was really weird. Waitress finally reappeared when she brought our check...before we were even done eating!! Totally rude. She didn't even say thank you. Would go back for the food and to hang out on the patio with friends, but hopefully next time we will have better service! read more

We came in as a family of five for burgers and fries. We've eaten here before and greatly enjoyed the food. Don't get me wrong, the burgers are still good and god love the sweet potatoe fries., but we waited an hour for our food on a Sunday afternoon. read more

Outside seating was nice. Food was good. Had Reuben and chipolte burger. The only reason for a two star was that we had chain smokers next to us the whole night and we felt the manager was rude to an elderly couple who was about to be seated and then physically held back and made to wait so that room could be made for a larger table. read more

Went last night to have some fish and chips, you'd think it wasn't hard to fry good fish, but many bars can't seem to get it right, no problem here, their fish was awesome! Tater tots option instead of fries was a nice bonus too. The wait staff was very nice as well. The only complaint I have is wish they had a little more seating, but that won't be a problem once it warms up because they have plenty of outside seating. read more

It's been years since we last stopped in at Parkside. I've gotta say, our experience this afternoon was great. Hubs had a chipotle chicken wrap, my mom had the special of the day (BBQ ribs), and I had the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. The food was really good bar fare....what I mean by that is the menu items are exactly what you'd hope for at a neighborhood bar and the food was truly delicious. (OMG the tator tots? Kind of addictive.) Everything came out correctly and looked as good as it tasted. Our server was great too. He took an extra moment to walk my mom through her meal options which was really kind of him. Overall a great Saturday afternoon experience! We will come back (much sooner this time!) read more

This is a typical bar with bar food. All the food is excellent. All the sandwiches are great and the portions are large. They have wonderful tater tots. The tater tots aren't greasy. Two thumbs up for great food and great service. I just wish they had more indoor seating and some booth seating. read more

Casual and delicious. Large outdoor patio. Their Voodoo Shrimp is so yummy. The Carne Asada Wrap is delicious! Great apps, salads and burgers. All is really good. I am a big fan of their fish fry. It always tastes good, and the service is generally on par. There isn't a better fish fry in Huntley. Their are lots of beer specials as well. My only complaint is they should give more fries with the fish and chips. They give a very small amount, which is odd because fries are very cheap to buy for restaurants. read more

New residents in area for a year, decided to check out the place for their advertised best sandwiches. Service was very personable and friendly, food was excellent. Had their bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. Excellent...will be back. Stated their burgers are 1/2 price every Monday. read more
