I must say the park tavern is a very good spot for pub food. I was driving around the Huntley area looking for a place to grab a bite to eat, non-chain and this place hit the spot. The food is prepped fresh and made to order. We ordered the southwestern egg rolls as our app. It came hot and fresh along with some side veggies to eat as well. Our ordered consisted of fish and chips, Philly cheese steak sandwich, fries and onion rings and all were given to us freshly made. Prices are on par with the food. Again, very great spot. They also have outside seating to boot for those who want to enjoy the weather. I definitely would come back if in the area again. read more

We have come here for years and will NEVER revisit. We visited on a slow night, and our server, Jess, messed up over and over again, favoring her side-work over her customers. One of the guests at our table never received his meal and our server never checked in on us. The owner was rude and disrespectful when we approached him regarding this issue. It is clear that Jess forgot to ring in his order and didn't take responsibility for her error. The owner was so disrespectful that I cannot ever put money into his pocket again. read more

Burgers are great as are the patty melts. The staff is friendly and it is a great corner pub experience. That said the bar is next to the tables inside and the customers drinking at the bar were loud and obnoxious. I had my kids with me and will never come back with them. If I am out alone or with my wife it wouldn't be bad. Although I have "grown up" and don't need to be surrounded by loud drunks the burgers are worth it if you can sit outside. read more

Wed. is Rib Special. $10 1/2 slab. $15 full slab. Full slab for us. $1 more for onion rings. Drinks were there in a flash. Food came shortly there after. Ribs onion rings (or tater tots) and coleslaw. All were good. The Ribs were fall off the bone good! Much better than Sweet Baby Ray's. The two guys working our table were great with the service. We've dined at Parkside Pub numerous times, and we like the food and the outdoor seating. Please be careful when sitting in the outdoor chairs! I sat on one on Saturday, and it was broken. It ripped a brand new sundress I was wearing, which was not cheap. I pointed it out to the server, and she was very apologetic. She said that she would et the manager know, and nobody returned to my table. Replacing the dress is costly, and paying to have it repaired is pointless. It's a good hole on the seat...I am very disappointed and I will not return to this restaurant. read more

Came here on a Monday night. Weather was perfect. Sadly everyone else in Huntley had the same idea so the place was packed. Couldn't get a waitress for first 10 mins. Then didn't get our food for almost AN HOUR AND A HALF. Our poor waitress was running around like a chicken with her head cut off, constantly apologizing saying the kitchen was so backed up. Just stopped by on a Friday afternoon after work to meet up with a meet for a pre poker beer. The bar has a good vibe with a good local draw. Bartenders were on top of things...Namely keeping my Summer Shandy's cold & full. I did order some of their Voodoo Shrimp that were a pleasant surprise. Love the new owners! Very personable. It's much cleaner now and the menu (especially the voodoo shrimp) is incredible! They offer up to items such as sweet potato fries vs just the basics. Outdoor area is large and provides a family environment for larger groups along with an outdoor bar area worth tvs for those wanting to watch the games. Waitresses are super friendly! read more

Well, my husband and I went here with a groupon. We were a little dissapointed. I ordered a patty melt, easy onions and it came loaded with onions. We also ordered the nachos supreme without the jalapeno peppers, it came with the peppers. I ordered a 2nd Margarita that I never received. The portions were generous and hot but beyond that, not much good to say! The place was somewhat crowded with one nice waitress working the tables. Besides, the restrooms, especially the men's was filthy. The whole experience left us unhappy. We won't be back anytime soon. read more

Had an hour with my wife before we had to go pick up our daughters from dance class and we needed to grab a quick bite. We have lived in Algonquin since 2001 and I am sorry to say we have never tried Parkside Pub. Driven past it a million times but never been inclined to stop. My wife suggested that we try it so we decided to stop and have a quick dinner. Great little pub. The inside is quite small (maybe a total of ten booths/tables other than the bar itself which is decent size.) The overall atmosphere is quite nice. It was warm and inviting and the staff was very friendly. My wife and I had the nachos and then split the Fire Burger. We each enjoyed a draft beer. Service was prompt and the food was above par for a pub. The nacho chips were really good and the burger was juicy and flavorful. I also had the cheese and bacon soup that seemed to be homemade and was crazy good. We ate drank our beer and still had around 15 minutes to spare before we had to go get the girls. The bill for the two of us came out to less than $30.00. All I can say is that I regret never coming here before. We will be back for sure. read more

Stopped in for dinner with a friend before heading out to a show at the Cosman Center in Huntley. They are on Restaurant.com now and I had a certificate for $25 (had to spend $35). With two burger entrees, we needed more to make the $35, and they were fine with us ordering margaritas to make up the difference. Cool. Good burgers, good service, crowded. This place is indescribable. I'll spare everyone the long story and keep this short. The staff are all pretty darn good. They hustle and try their best. The chef/cook seems to care about what he serves. Both great, but.... The HUGE problem with this place is the ridiculous wait for food! My wife and two children waited an hour and a half for our food to show up. AND, this is the second time this has happened. We didn't order anything crazy, just 4 simple entrees. When we brought this up to the "manager", he said he would look into it, and promptly blew us off. Only when we told our waitress that we wanted to leave without the food, then it finally came out. 1 hour and 25 minutes after we ordered!! They were not even that busy at the time also! I've worked in the industry, so I know enough not to blame the wait staff. The problem with this place is the owner. The cooks need three more of themselves, and the kitchen needs to be 3 times larger. We will never go back to this place for food, which sucks, because it's pretty good. read more

Was there on a Sunday afternoon following a round of golf. Typical biker dive bar. Sat outside on wrought-iron furniture that ripped a hole in my pants. This was right before the election and some guy kept driving back and forth in his pickup with huge USA and Trump flags waving in the breeze. Ordered Philly Cheesesteak Nachos - not very good. This happens to be one of my family's favorite restaurants because the quality of the food is great!!! Unfortunately, the wait can sometimes be way too long. When you have little kids, it becomes a real nuisance to constantly be told, "Your food will be up in a minute." or "They're working on your ticket right now." Our solution to that is to visit them during the week and avoid them on the weekend. Also, consider going early to avoid the rush. It sounds like they simply don't have enough chefs/kitchen staff to accomodate many food orders. But, definitely give them a try. read more

Ugh. Don't go here with your family. My kids are under 5. Smokers on all three sides of us. Told us 10 min for a table, 25 minutes later, we sat down and the waitress informed us that food was a 45min-1hr wait. After all of that time, the kids' chicken fingers were raw in the middle. I'm a fan of Parkside. Their food is really good for a bar. The last time my husband and I were there on a Saturday for their Mexican Fiesta menu, the service was really weird. The two shall I say "seasoned" bartenders looked really out of it...puffy eyes, and their clothes looked like they slept in them. They were more interested in what they were putting into the computer than making eye contact or being the least bit attentive to the customers. This has never been the case before, but it was so annoying that I actually had to write something about it. I'll still will go back often to eat, though. Their parmesan melt is the best. read more

The food here is real good. My fiancée and I went in because we had bought a groupon. The bar is small but there is a beer garden and sand volleyball. We ordered the nachos for an appetizer. Our waitress warned us of the size of course I didn't listen! Holy crap! The nachos were huge. They were also really good. Plenty of toppings unlike most restaurants where you get more chips than anything. My fiancée had the chicken sandwich which she enjoyed. I had the angus burger. This burger is not for rookies! It was also huge! We're definitely going back! Come to this establishment with an appetite. I didn't give it 5 stars because there's not much else to do. No darts or pool which I like to do. A group of 12 of us went for the Friday night Fish. Gina, our waitress was Excellent!!!! Busy Friday night and we never waited for a drink. The owner stopped by the table to inquire about our experience. The Fish boil was excellent and several had the Shrimp platter which was also excellent. It was pretty hot outside but they had fans to keep the air moving on the outside patio area. Restrooms were kept clean. Plenty of parking on the backside. read more
