This place is a local favorite-- beers are cold, servers are attentive and easy on the eyes, and the food is actually quite good. Not sure why the rating isn't higher but indeed been coming for years and never had an issue with my food or the service. My only gripe is I wish they had a bigger menu, but as far as bars go, I think you could definitely do worse going to many other places and I do think Niko's is worth a try, you might end up a regular like me. read more

Among the few hangouts in Pingree Grove. It has a pretty casual feel to it. Niko's is okay. Has a pretty basic menu of typical beers and food. There's not much that can be called healthy, but this is the kind of place where taste is the most important thing. Had to stop to go to the bathroom and decided to get some drinks and food. It was later in the night and they weren't all that busy, which may not be surprising. This place is in the middle of nowhere, that would be why. I was like, we might as well get beer. That meant having to use the bathroom again later on. It's about $3 on certain bottles and cans. The food isn't bad either, from what we had. It was getting late and they were giving away free food. They had some chips, rolls, soup, and a few other things. For what I had, it wan't bad. The others said the soup was good, and tasted like it was actually made instead of from a can. Good stuff at a bar. It certainly isn't gourmet, but you can get some pretty decent food. The atmosphere may be a little too hillbilly for some. read more

Yum! My neighbors and husband love this place. Our neighbors probably eat here about 1-3x a week! I finally said, let me check it out. We came for a late dinner on Friday night, the dinner rush had died and we got sat in a booth right away. They have a out door patio seating too. Perfect for a few drinks outside or even date night. I love the menu and the different side choices they offer! They usually have a drink of the day or month too- fun! I got a Buffalo chicken wrap and Mac cheese for my meal and everything came out Perfect! My husband has had some of the salads and burgers. He really likes the burgers here. Pros: it's newly built / remodeled. It's nice inside and has a patio. The food is good. Cons: It's a bit expensive. My small side of fruit instead of fries added $5 to the bill. No deduction for the removed fries. So $21 for a wrap and a side of fruit. Ouch..... The patio floor has lots of debris and looked like it had not been cleaned that day. We went here with a group of family recently at the recommendation of my sister in-law. We had a large group so we sat in the enclosed outdoor area which was fine, plenty warm on a cold night. The start wasn't perfect, I tried to order some beer off the beer menu only to be told that they have changed from fall to winter and did not have a menu of what was available, so I gave up trying to guess what they might have and just got something else. We started with a few orders of the fried green beans, they were excellent, and didn't seem to be pre-frozen. The beans still had some texture, they were possibly the best fried green beans I have ever had. Everyone was getting burgers and I saw one on the way in and it looked good so I followed. They have a burger with a fried egg but I have found that many places will not let you have the egg runny...then what's the point. I asked and was told that I could have the egg any way I wanted it....Score! So I got a medium burger with Cheddar, egg and bacon. The burger had good beef flavor but it was cooked a bit more than medium for me. The bacon was a bit lost and could not stand up to the other flavors. All in all it was very good and I look forward to going back read more

Restaurant area had big sports TV screens going in great music playing. In the bar area there was an outdoor enclosed area with a live band playing that sounded great. They made outdoor seating , a guy going around wiping down things constantly, tables were far apart from each other , and you can't refill your cup they give you a whole new cup. We had the salmon, let me tell you one of best pieces of salmon I've had with the best lemon sauce, my kids and husband were asking for bites the whole time. We've been regulars for a long time...between this location and Woodstock, we literally eat at Niko's 7 times a month on average. Our bill is always at least $70. Sadly, we're done. My wife drinks Ketel One vodka, exclusively. A decision has been made that Niko's will no longer offer Ketel One so their private label vodka can be forced on their customers.
