Stopped in during the week for a quick lunch. Service was quick and friendly. We love the nostalgic feels of the Irish Style Pub/Brewery. They have a large selection of craft beers and many hand crafted cocktails to choose from. What we ordered: *Tenderloin Sliders- they were full of flavor and tender. * Chicken with pasta and a creamy mushroom sauce. It was very flavorful and definitely something I would order again. I had not been here in about 10 years and it was just as underwhelming as ever. Not bad but nothing I've ever eaten here has been great. We were a party of about 10 but there were hardly any other people in the place on a cold snowy night and service was severely lacking to top it all of. I was disappointed in the kids menu that had Kraft Mac n cheese , buttered noodles, or burger for $12. A children's meal should never be $12 unless I'm downtown Chicago. We ordered some apps which never arrived. We were happy to see a whole gluten free menu since we had people in our party that need gluten free options. I went to a gathering here with a large group on a Saturday night and was able to sample a good number of different appetizers including the Emmett's Nachos, Woodland Flatbread, Margherita flatbread, Based pretzel twists, Chocolate stout brownie, and more. Overall, the flavors of all of these items were as good as other more upscale pubs that I've been to with fairly good textures to match (nachos were quite crispy, pretzels had a good firmness). Portion sizes were fairly generous for the price as well, considering that appetizers are a similar size to entrees. Service here was quick, efficient, and friendly as our waiter was able to accurately accommodate our table of 20 -- with good recommendations and prompt drink refills as well. Despite the large number of orders, food was served hot and at a similar time to one another, and plates were also cleared at a good pace. Giving 2 stars here seems generous and its only because the service was good and our server was attentive The food I ordered was the tenderloin sliders. Let me tell you, the only way I would ever serve this is if I had a prisoner and I had to keep them alive. The sliders were dry and when I say I maybe a drizzle of balsamic vinegar if that. Not enough horseradish sauce to even make a difference. In addition, the sweet potato fries were cold and limp. The atmosphere of the restaurant itself is cool enough and they have decent beers. My buddy, I was there with got the fried chicken sandwich which I almost got myself and he even said it was terrible. Do better. read more

Emmett's Brewing Co is a local favorite in the West Dundee/Elgin area. I have been here many times for lunches, dinners, and banquets. The last time I was there I met my mother there for lunch. Our server was very nice and spent time to answer all of our questions. I had the cheddar ale soup which comes with a pretzel twist. This was flavorful without being too heavy. For entrees I had the RASPBERRY WALNUT SALAD (Grilled Chicken, Cranberries, Bleu Cheese, Pear, Raspberry Vinaigrette), while my mom had the BURRATA CAPRESE SALAD (Tomato, Basil, Crostini, Balsamic Glaze). Once I mixed all of the ingredients together, the salad tasted great. The chicken was a little dry but pouring some of the salad dressing on it fixed that problem. The tomatoes in my mother's salad were HUGE. The food was good and I am already looking forward to my next visit. I recommend Emmett's Brewing Co. read more

Visited the Palatine, IL brewery on 10/24 partly to redeem a free refill of a (1 of 3) growlers that I got from a Honors Flight golf outing in Sept in Arlington Heights, IL and to have lunch with friends . Meal was OK but when I tried to redeem the coupon I was told that this was not one of their coupons or growlers and I could not use the last two. I asked for the manager and was given the runaround by the server. Very embarrassing to my party of four. Nice pub with a classic feel, Emmett's has an extensive line of their beers as well as some classic pub grub. Prices are fair, and I enjoyed a prime rib dinner for under $30. Nothing fancy, but it was well prepared and I would order it again. Place gets busy, but we were able to grab a couple of seats at the bar on a Friday night. Went with a friend from the Netherlands, and he also liked the brewery Merch as well. Overall, a nice place for a meal and drinks. read more

Enjoyed a nice lunch at Emmett's Brewing Co., this traditional American restaurant is also a brewing house when you walk in you can see this massive tank! Got the two soups of French onion and also cheddar ale soup. I got the cheddar ale one because I never heard of a soup with ale in it and it also came with a pretzel to dip in your soup! Super rich and creamy. Overall I loved both soups and would say they are both good. Also had some baked potato skins and had them put the bacon on the side since I'm not eating any, but my table was still able to put the bacon on their skin if they would like it. My burger was also juicy and super tasty! I enjoyed the string onions on them. They were cooked perfectly well. A filling and a full meal for lunch but I loved it. read more

We stopped in with some friends and our kids for an early dinner here a while back and I never got around to writing a review. But I need to do it for one reason. Did you ever watch Hell's Kitchen? Gordon Ramsey would always make Beef Wellington in his restaurant and I never had it before. I always wanted to try it. Well I got to try it one other time and it was a fantastic dish. And they had it as a special the evening we stopped in, and for a much cheaper price than what I paid at another establishment. So I gave it a try and it was a slam dunk. Me and a friend chose this place on a whim. We were seated by a very nice host immediately and our server was super friendly and checked on us often to make sure we were doing ok. You can sit on the bar side or the dining room side and we chose a booth in the dining room. Was very happy about that after going to the restroom later and learned how loud the bar side was. The menu had several different salad and sandwich options as well as several different sharables and entrees. They also had a small list of specials for St Patrick's Day. We started with a couple of glasses of wine, a merlot and a rose. We loved both wines and the pours were decent sized. The merlot was a Sycamore Lane merlot and now I need to find where to buy it. For entrees, we chose the corned beef and cabbage and the fried cod dish. The corned beef dish looked very fresh, filling and appetizing. My cod was a couple of medium sized pieces with large chunks of fresh whitefish, with crispy breading. The cole slaw was very creamy and sweet and the sweet potatoes were long, thin and crispy. Both meals were very delicious. We ended our night with a slice of their carrot cake, which was large and the middle of it was very good, but the top of it tasted slightly freezer burnt. It had a thick cream cheese frosting covered in walnuts. The cake was very good. All in all, for 2 glasses of wine, an entree and dessert it was about $50 each. Brought my two young kids (5 and 2) on Valentines night by myself after my husband unexpectedly had to work late and Shelley G was our server...truly one of the best experiences I've had eating out with my kids thanks to her! She was engaging with us and brought the kids' meals out quickly and once my meal came out (Brussels sprout salad, absolutely delicious!) she brought them valentines cards and stickers to keep them entertained so I could enjoy my meal in peace. She helped make for a truly memorable and wonderful night after my plans had changed and it will be a long time before I forget her kindness to us. read more

Recently we visited Emmetts Brewing Company. While the venue is great and our meal was delicious, the overall experience was undermined by seemingly small oversights (or lack of attention to details). 1. We met our friend in the bar and ordered drinks. The beer was excellent as is always the case with Emmetts. However, when you order drinks from the well a simple rum and coke should not be weak but even worse, the coke should not be flat sugar water. A $100 bar tab to start the night begins with some lousy pours/drinks. The beer saved the night. 2. Prime Rib was presented as the special for the evening so we all ordered it. When we requested bread for the table we were presented with a single pretzel breadstick - ridiculous and totally inappropriate. Oddly enough, while at the bar we were actually served bread and butter. 3. Moving on past dinner, we ordered desserts and coffee. While the desserts were delicious the coffee was lukewarm/cold Total dinner tap, $200 for the night. The above issues could have been resolved at the time of service but it is not our job to educate the staff on how to care for their patrons. The time to make things right is at the time the service is being provided - not after you've done it wrong. West and East Dundee have many eating establishments to enjoy. These restaurants have a responsibility to the community that supports them with their dollars to always give their best - that is how it works. Take care of your guests and they will take care of you year after year after year. Emmett's has great food and you certainly do not need to spend $300 to enjoy yourself there. I have been to Emmett's less than a handful of times throughout the last few years. They have a nice cozy atmosphere and this is a good date place. Last time I was there I tried their pear martini that was really good but a small pour (and a wrong glass). The bartender was a bit slow in getting utensils and cocktails but he was nice. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich on a pretzel bun and I subbed out the Swiss cheese for Gouda cheese and I got ranch instead of honey mustard and the sandwich was fresh and delicious! Came for a large private party. The steak and salmon were fantastic. The portion size was good and the mixed veggies was great. For the steak I would have liked a little more brown gravy. The server was great and she worked very hard for all of us. We didn't see a helper until the entrees came out so for the 30+ people great job. The brownie dish for dessert was very rich in chocolate. The beers were all pretty easy drinking. But we were burping almost immediately. Went with hubby to get some dinner after work. I tried one of their specials - their $4 tacos. Got a pork, steak/beef, and fried cod taco. Very good! They were quite generous for the low price. My husband was kinda jealous! He got the burger with the egg, and thought it was a good quality burger and enjoyed it. Burger came with fries. They have daily specials which seem very reasonable. Pricing was very reasonable in general. The ambience is very nice and quaint, and parking is free in the back of the restaurant. Seating is ample. Overall it was a very good lunch. Been to the palatine location many times so was looking forward to eating here and trying this location. The spinach artichoke dip was delicious. Pita was hot and crispy. So good! The serving size was much larger than we expected so there was plenty left over. I had the soup and salad meal. The cheddar ale soup was rich and filling. It wasn't very hot. I'm guessing it was plated first and sitting a bit. The pretzel twist was clearly right out of the oven and was delicious dipped in the soup. Salad was good as well. But there is no getting around the fact that the food was a disappointment.I had decided on the " shaved prime rib "  sandwich and at the server's suggestion, got the " home made chips. " Both were disappointing. The prime rib was two thick slices, both of which were somewhat fatty. And the chips could have come from a bag. My wife had the potato skins which were tough and without much of an appealing taste. End of September there's noisy construction out front on 72, but don't let that stop you from coming inside and enjoying a great meal. Large parking lot is in the back off 2nd Street. Head in the main entrance which is on the side, on 2nd Street. You'll be greeted with a smile and seated either in a booth or a table. Your choice. I believe there are two dining rooms, front and rear. We've always been seated in the front with great views of Route 72 (which unfortunately right now is filled with construction crews). Large screen TVs are in several corners of the front dining area and showing different sports channels. Be sure to look for the bear head in the wall. Our server for the evening was Gideon. He took care of all our questions when ordering, kept our drinks filled, and helped us package up our leftovers. Our teenage son had the Walleye Poboy sandwich with a cup of soup. Soup of the day was Shrimp Bisque. Very thick and full of flavor. A must try! Hubby and I both ordered the fried Cod and a salad (instead of fries). The fried cod is very good if eaten when hot. But the breading gets mushy as it cools. The salad is a good size salad with tomato, cucumber, grated carrots, red onions! Best side salad served with dinner that I've ordered in any restaurant.
