Best fish fry I've had since the 90's. Absolute hidden gem! Great beer selection too.

We were excited to check out the only self-pour concept in our area. Darts were awesome, but make sure you eat before you start darts because you will spend that valuable (and expensive) time eating when you want to play. The host was flexible with start times so we could order which was a major plus! Wings were great, beer selection is solid, but overall a high ticket price for a basic experience. read more

Been meaning to write this review for a longtime but hey I get busy! I've had several of the items on the menu. This used to be Riverview Restaurant and the new owners still have 90% of the old menu. Apparently the main longtime cook is here too. On this occasion I had the Slim Jim Riverman (pictured). Italian beef, bacon, cheddar cheese..can't go wrong! I think my favorite sandwich is the River Monster. We've also tried newer menu items, Samosas in particular and they were excellent. And the beer wall, enough said was really cool to sample different beers and pay by the ounce. Great place! read more

Thought we'd finally check this place out for dinner and beer. They have 30 beers on tap where you get a special card to dispense it yourself. It enables you to try a bunch of beers by getting as little as 2 ounces. The bartender told us that they change the beers out every 2 weeks or so. The food we ordered was okay - chicken tenders & potato skins. Typical bar food. We did see others get the pizza and that did look pretty good. The real draw is the dispensing of beer. You can get up and get another beer without waiting for the waitress. Other than that, I'm not rushing back. read more

Had a great first experience here. The beer selection is great and we've always been big fans of pour your own tap houses. The owner is very knowledgeable about all the beers. We ordered the fish and chips and foldovers, both were great. We brought our toddler and the owner was very accompanying. Brought us bubbles to help keep him happy and kids meals are discounted on Thursdays. Overall we had a great time. read more

Great night of friends, food, and darts. Great variety of food items I have prime rib Philly steak, my wife had the broasted chicken. The beer selection was not only fun but huge selection. I tried many varieties. The Dart games and the tech built around it is too notch. Never experienced the variety of games and with great boards to toss into. The server was great always there to fill drinks take plates and was very friendly and attentive. While managing the whole dining room. To the owner response - I didn't say the bill's math was wrong, I pointed out it was overpriced for bad service and the shrimp app being a pile of fried breading and not much shrimp. Presentation made it look even less worth the price. It was a boring environment for what is advertised. The board games are old and thrifted, not as described online. The seating is not inviting or comfortable. Plus you/other management I suppose darting in and out to stare around but not engage is weird. ' al'l over a ''menu' i's a weir'd practice. Chick'n is absolutely the generally accepted spelling used for vegetarian pseudo meat. Clarity is what people want, that's all. We tried a trivia night once as well without eating there, but no one showed up but us so we left without having anything. Hopefully your business picks up for those nights to happen. read more

Only a 1 star because there no zero stars. You should really read all the 1 star reviews before going here. Clearly this is poorly managed and comes across in the service and the food! Awful food and awful experience. Thought we would try it and got a coupon from clip. Went and thought about leaving but decided to give it a try Pizza seemed like a safe bet. Waitress took our order and confirmed twice. Pepperoni and sausage on all and mushrooms on half. She then came back and asked if it was thin crust. We said yes. It took about 25 minutes and the pizza came out wrong. 1/2 sausage and pepperoni the other half mushroom. We let the waitress know and she said that is what we ordered we explained no that sausage and pepperoni on all and mushrooms on half. She didn't see to know what to say but said l will talk to the manager and get you a correct one to eat or take home. Saw her talk to the manager and then she never came back to our table. Didn't even come back to refill our drinks. The manager then comes over when we have a piece left and proceeds to sit down at our table uninvited! He thanked says the waitress says she gave us the correct pizza. She confirmed it twice. I said she confirmed it twice and we ordered what we wanted twice. She never wrote anything down which is why she had to come back and asked us if it was thin crust even though we had told her that. Manager gave us some bs about him just trying to figure it out since he had only been there two weeks which I absolutely didn't believe. This place is way beyond what you would expect in these 'burbs. The innovative spices on the "chicken 65" appetizer. The personal service from the owner. The CRAFT BEER WALL!! This place is really top notch and way beyond what I've gotten used to in the suburbs. The food is excellent and homemade and delicious. The craft beer wall is amazing and fun and a great value. This place is great. The pouring your own beer thing is so fun but they also have bottles and cocktails at the bar if the craft beers isn't your thing. Prices are good, they have $3 domestic bottles M-Th 4pm-7pm. Amazing pizza, other food I have tried is also really good. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Highly recommend. Not sure what the 1 star review is about. Maybe there is something that they weren't happy about, we will never know, they didn't say. A 1 star is pretty rough though, I think an employee would have to hit me in the face or something to rate a place that low lol read more

The second we sat down we waited 15 minutes to be greeted by our waitress. When she came by we immediately ordered some appetizers that arrived after our meals. The meals did not come out together. It was about a 5 minute gap per meal per person. Don't be fooled if they ask you for a side with your meal, everything is a la carte even with a burger or sandwich. Bill came and was charged $8 for a side of fries. The fries came out 10 minutes before the burger. Also don't get the folddoughver.. Loved the atmosphere. The fish fry was the best. Great concept of trying a variety of different craft beers and only pay what you drink.

This was our first time at Brewhaus 31 and the pour your own concept is great, BUT there were two of us on one card and we got cut off! The owner fixed it but as a heads up to others, if you are using one card, it doesn't know if you have more than one person drinking. We also thought the taps should have been up higher. The night we were there, there wasn't much variety in the beers offered. There were a lot of sours (some excellent, some just ok), almost all of the dark beers had coffee (huge turn off for me), and many of the other selections were ok but not beers we would consider outstanding. It was really nice that you could build your own flights and also pour as much as you wanted. We got some apps and the nachos were ok, and the meat samosas were also just ok. Now the veggie samosas were outstanding! So I would recommend getting all veggie instead of the mixed ones. The food that we were especially impressed by was the pizza!! Holy cow it was delicious!! We had the Sicilian Mess and it was so crispy and delicious! I wish I had taken a picture because it was truly outstanding. Loaded with meat and cheese and the roasted peppers and tomatoes really added a lot to the taste. Does not need the croutons on top. As others have said, it is pretty loud in there but was a fun spot for Friday after work. The darts area looked like a lot of fun too and we would probably try that next time. The waitress was great and was the only one waiting on tables. Both individuals who seemed like the owners were there and did not seem to help out much at all. Food was well below par and upsetting as the idea of the place sounds great but the experience is not the same. Finally one of the beers that was poured had something floating in the beer. It was either out of the line or in the glass itself. Regardless we kept it calm and approached the waitress who immediately told us she would have one of the owners comp it and pour us a new one. The new beer never came and was luckily comped. The worst part was the owner instead of apologizing, tried to explain to me that there was no possibility it came from the line or the glass. He eventually watched the cameras and came to the conclusion it was spinach from another individual's dish at the table.... I PROMISE it was not spinach. Wont be back for a long time until things are changed. And dont get the cheese sauce For credibility purposes I am an expert in beer and cheese sauce. The food here was awful. It tasted as if it was sitting out for days, and was far from fresh. We ordered the beer nuggets as an appetizer, and it came out after our entrees and also was very stale, giving the impression of sitting out. The service was so slow, we were being very patient given it was a Friday night, but it took significantly long to even get an appetizer order in. Overall we were very disappointed in the quality and level of care of the establishment. Safe to say we won't be returning which is a bummer. My dad is Italian, and he used to bring home delicious panzerotti's every week from a store in Chicago. When I went to Brewhaus, I thought the panzerotti looked good and despite four times what I would normally pay at a Chicago store that I get them from, I thought I'd try it. Stopped in for a couple beers during happy hour. Bartender (Alex) was friendly and helpful on explaining the self tap beer wall concept. A good variety of craft beers from good microbreweries. The price of the beer is WAY out of whack. We have many microbreweries in the area, so it's not like locals don't have options. Shouldn't be paying 10 bucks (or more) for a pint. The novelty of the beer wall is only gonna last so long. The owner is going to have to give up some on the margins for that beer. That being said, I hope they are successful. read more

My first time in since the new owners . I was very impressed the minute I walked in .The owner was bartending and made some cocktails that I will be coming back for . The place is absolutely beautiful . A huge upgrade from Riverview . He took the time to show me around . He let me sample some things I never tried before . Honestly a disappointment from what it once was. Very cold interior. Uncomfortable seating. Extremely loud. Beer nuggets changed and are now $11.99. A soda is $3.99. The Sturgis is gone (if you know, you know). Our app wasn't put in. Slow service. Beer wall neat but costly. Cameras everywhere (creepy). Pizza was still good. Fun idea- but trendy and sterile is not my thing. I can do carryout but don't know if I will want to. read more

Long time patron of this restaurant. Very disappointed in the service and fulfillment of our latest pick up order. Out of 6 dinners, 3 were completely wrong. As an example, ordered my favorite meal of a Rive rMonster that is beef, pepperoni, and mozzarella cheese. What I received was beef, bacon, and cheddar cheese. Was told the food would be done between 25 min and 50 min. Not a very concise time frame if you ask me. Also, meals used to come with sides, not anymore I guess. When we called them back to get this fixed, they said they could credit us the wrong meals or remake them. We chose to have them remake them and they said they could send it out or we could pick up. We chose having them send it out. Told it would be 45 min to and hour. We called them after an hour and they said they did not even start cooking the new food. Told them to refund our money and they said it would probably be 2 days until the money would show up in our account. Too bad Riverview went so far down in quality and service when they became Brewhaus 31. Probably lost this customer forever. read more

It is a brand-new building and the inside is clean and fresh. They seem to be focused on gaming as they have a separate gaming room just for that, but I'm not much of a video gaming person, so I didn't go into it. Our server was nice, friendly and attentive, and even put up with our table being a little obnoxious from time to time. As a table, we ordered boneless wings and cauliflower "wings," and they were ok. You can choose your own sauce for the wings, which is nice, and the variety was good. We all ordered entree salads, and they had fresh greens and were decent size, but nothing really special about them. We also ordered a pizza to try it, and it was by far the best part of the meal. The crust was thin and crispy, and the toppings were good, but I have to say that if you have a pizza called the "Garlic Monster," you better be able to taste garlic, and we were disappointed that it did not. They also have a self-serve beer tap wall. This is a good idea, but the selection of beer seemed to be more of what their distributor was trying to get rid of more than anything else. It was also quite over-priced. The vibe in general is kind of weird. Probably won't go back except for maybe a pizza night. read more

Two stars because our server Lexi was absolutely phenomenal!!! Everything else was subpar, the steak sandwich was $16 for a small salty sandwich with no fries. When the pizza came out wrong the owner did not care about trying to fix the mistake whatsoever. Mistakes are okay, they happen but the recovery is the most important thing. The owner was completely fine with having the server pay for our pizza that was messed up. Would go back again for the server who was great but absolutely no other reason. The burger was bland and boring. I would not recommend unless you're more than willing to pay for mistakes that weren't yours or having your server pay for mistakes that aren't theirs. read more

I absolutely love the concept at Brewhaus 31!!! Self pour beer is different and glad they have this as I don't think there's other places in Algonquin that do this. They switch up their beer options and also have happy hour! I tried their boneless wings and their BBQ brisket sandwich and omg it was delicious. Definitely a place to check out if you want to have a fun time and enjoy great food and drinks. The staff is friendly and willing to help explain how the self pour works. read more

If you liked the food at Riveriew it still very similar. we had the foldover and broasted chicken. The food prices are reasonable for todays costs. The craft beer selection is very good but very pricey. You pour yourself and it records ounces and brands which all have different prices. A pint is going to run you 8.80 to 17.60 basically count on 10 bucks a beer and to get a taste you will be charged. This is self service so do you tip on what I consider overpriced beer or go for the food and have cocktails elsewhere. For me if the beer prices come down I will visit more. read more
