Well how disappointing that this place sold out to a local 'grabbing up' all the restaurants we can in the area company. The food has gone from one of the best little dive bar places to eat for as long as I have lived here (50 years) to just another so so place. Used to have fresh cut fries (amazing) - not now, just the same Sysco product as everyone else. Wings were grease ridden and not cooked well. I am so sad this place has changed hands. read more

Nice little dive bar with a porch if you are into outside eating/drinking. If you are looking for upscale dining and a new building, keep going to Chocolate Ave for all the new "trendy" bars/restaurants, because the Parkside Hotel isn't what you are looking for. If you are looking for a relaxed diveish type place with good inexpensive food and drinks, this is a good choice. Bartender was pleasant and made some small talk. Pretty sure I will stop again. read more

We always stop in after our trip to Hershey Park and are never disappointed. They have great food at great prices. Real beef patties, not frozen hamburgers, which are a generous size. My husband always gets a bowl of Maryland Crab soup which he enjoys. On our last visit my son got the veal parm hoagie which did not disappoint. Portions are generous and always great. I highly recommend stopping in for a meal. I would much prefer to support a local business rather than a chain restaurant. read more

Best bar in town! Has been a staple of Hershey for as long as i can remember! The food is delicious, drinks are cold...good vibe!

Hidden gem in Hershey. We've eaten at many of the more well known local spots and this was by far the best. Pit beef and cheeseburger were amazing. Great wings, great service and prices. read more

I've always heard such great things about this place: great food at decent prices. But I think I can only agree with the latter. The food was reasonably priced, but I feel more as though it was appropriately priced. If it were up to me I would say "good food: good prices" but I wouldn't over emphasize. And regardless of its location, I don't find it cliche of them to give out Hershey candy at the end of the meal. A Kit Kat and Peppermint Patty were a nice finish. read more

Great place to sit and converse with the locals. Food here is really good. Right outside of Hershey Park on the corner. So yes, it is one of those corner bars with great drinks and good peeps. The steamed shrimp here are awesome. Good size, seasoning and cooked perfectly. Fresh cut fries with all sandwiches along with many other great menu items to choose from. Once the warm weather comes nice little covered patio right out front, so even if it rains you can still sit and enjoy yourself. Great selection of beer and friendly bar staff. Don't pass this place by..... give it a try. read more

We went in a little after 730 and waited to see if someone would approach us since there were a few empty tables. After about a minute I approached the woman at the bar and asked for a table for two and then I pointed to a table. She said "if you find a table you can sit there." She wasn't the friendliest but she most likely was busy. We waited for about two minutes then I set a timer on my watch for another two minutes. Told my wife that if no one's comes after those two minutes we will leave. That is exactly what we did. I'm not sure if they were understaffed or if you need to order somewhere and then bring your food over. Since we were not from the area, we didn't know the dynamics of the restaurant. If we are back in the area maybe we would go back during lunch when it's emptier to a get a sense of the service and food. The food looked good in the reviews that is why we wanted to try it, but maybe next time. read more

My favorite bar in central PA. Good solid pub grub at insane prices. If you're looking for gourmet or craft beer then go elsewhere; if you want to stretch your buck and have some tasty food with real people, you could do a lot worse. $6 pitchers of rolling rock, $7 pitchers of yuengling - how can you go wrong? Plus, we got to see the bartender abruptly throw out these two entitled millennials last night...it was amazing... read more

Saved us when the rest of the town was closed for the night, on a Saturday. Friendly and accommodating and the food hit the spot!! Now this will be our go-to place when we come back. We ordered a regular menu item burger and a special order of NY strip. We also got clams. Portions were just right, didn't leave us wanting more and had no leftovers to chuck. read more

Visiting my friend Salli in Hershey for the first time, we met her friend Marybeth at Parkwood Hotel. What a wonderful neighborhood kind of place. Great atmosphere, very comfortable, in a fantastic location right near the famed Hershey Park! The people working there and some of the customers greeted my friend, like she was family, so welcoming! We all got burgers, and anyone that knows me, knows what a burger freak I am. This burger was cooked to perfection I ordered it medium, and the cooj hit it on the nail! The French fries were just the right combination of crisp, and flavor! What a Gem! read more

This place saw us arriving into their establishment and shut the door and refused us service. This was at 11:15pm on a Saturday night and the establishment closes at 2am per Google and Yelp. It appears they do not want the business of visitors. read more

The parkside hotel grill was such a great experience. The music was great selection. The service was great and spot on. Really trying to meet your expectations. They were very attentive to all their customers. The food was great. Wings, burgers, chili, salads, all was spot on. Drinks were on time and good. Bottom line this place has a lot of blood sweat and tears in their service for their business and customers! Thanks parkside grill. read more

The last time I was there, the bartender was very rude and gave terrible service. I've gone there before and knew exactly what I wanted. He took our drink orders but refused to take our meal order. I was going to order a single cheese steak. He said he couldn't get to us right now and I'd have to wait my turn. He was actually very curt with his answer. We then sat there...at the bar...for over a half hour while he waited on others. The issue wasn't that he took care of other people, it was that he took his time doing everything, including texting and talking to the other customers ( conversations, not taking orders). After sitting there for just over a half hour, I paid my bill and left. read more

Cheesesteak sub was spectacular. Like 4lbs. Of meat piles. But the man's pork. N crute mash. Pot was really instant tasting I really feel jipped. When place Can t make there own mash. Potatoes. Others wise really simple basic menu. With good beer prices. Wonder how there wings are?. read more

I'm going to try and write this review with no regard to the horde of post-college morons who have nothing better to do except sit at a bar for seven-eight hours on a Sunday. That's to you, hideous sleezy guy who was convinced every woman should be wowed by his muscles (I wasn't). And to you, guy who made my obviously uncomfortable mother extremely nervous with your beer gut in her lap asking her to buy you a drink. I hate you both and your obnoxious frat friends. Okay, on to the actual review: From what I hear, it's normally a pretty quiet bar that doesn't usually attract a younger crowd. The bartender, Sue, is wonderful. She bought us our first round of drinks. Even if she hadn't our tab still would have been cheaper than the one at our next stop where we didn't even get food (or many drinks). The late shift bartender had muscles that wowed me, and he looked exactly like Crais on Farscape (this is a good thing). I got the black and bleu wrap. The "bleu" was rare and difficult to obtain. The roast beef was cold and chewy, sauce was scanty and there was about an inch of cold cheddar cheese. The "black" (tortilla wrap) was grilled, but was also cold when it came out. My mom, a notoriously picky eater, loved her hot roast beef sandwich with gravy. Their fries were worthy of many future visits: the skin is left on and there's a nice mix of soft and crunchy that will satisfy everyone's fry preferences. My mom's "monkey sauce" (?) helped out: ketchup, vinegar and lots of black pepper. read more

This is my second time here and definitely not disappointed either time. The beer is really nice and cold and the food is very reasonably priced. It's pretty small inside so don't take a party larger than 4 or 5. They make their burger patties by hand and they smoke their own pork and beef daily. And the hand cut fries are the best!! Delicious!!!! read more

Decent wings, burgers are good as well. Must have driven past here a hundred times before I stopped in. They have a decent sized sign out front that advertises steamed clams, although we decided against them. Staff was OK, not super friendly, but we thought they took care of us.The owner-lady came and chatted with us when she realized we weren't regulars. Kind of a dive, and not exactly up to date, but worth a stop. read more

I drove by this place for years. Is it a hotel? A biker bar? A dive????! It's none of those. It's a cool place with the most diverse, friendly customers you will ever find. You can't beat the prices, the food is great and the waitstaff is the best. I take my whole family there and we all love it. If you are in Hershey and don't go to the Parkside....you've missed one of the best attractions! I almost forgot.......best clams ever. I'm not kidding! read more

The Parkside is a staple in Hershey. It's a biker friendly bar, and it's a great place to relax and grab a quick brew or get a full meal. The Angus burger is really good, the pulled pork sandwich is always good too. The outside area has recently been redone to allow smoking outside, and as always you can relax out there and watch the park riders at Hershey Park all day with a cold one in hand. It's has a a great local atmosphere, not the usual run of the mill Hershey fair. FYI, Cash only . . . an ATM is on hand inside. read more

A very solid four star. Always knew of and drove by...but never stopped on, until June 22. I got a steak special of the day with sides for like $14 and it was very good. It's a no frills bar where you can get pretty good food. It's not gourmet, but it's good...and a classic local location. The best part of the night was when we asked if they had dessert after we were done eating, and the bartender replied, "Yea....shots!" He was dead serious. read more

Parkside is the definition of dive bar. This place is great!! I had the brisket sandwich and wanted more and more. I am very particular when it comes to brisket, too much fat and we have an issue. We also got a few drinks and the bill was super cheap. Can't wait to go back again, maybe when it's warmer out and we can sit on their deck. read more

Great find........hidden gem....Very decent prices especially when you're in the middle of tourist mecca and all the other food places around are charging way more for food because they can...... Decent food. Actually, very good, decent food and reasonable service. Clearly, if you're a regular you'll get a lot more friendly attention, but Hey, those people are regulars that support the place every day. Some staff can be a bit "aloof" and frosty. I don't expect everyone there to fall all over me but a civil answer to a civil question or two would be nice. read more

3+ stars. Gritty but good "biker bar" filled with some of the nicest bikers and staff you're going to meet. Get the pit-cooked beef (pictured) and pork, the Sue's Wrap (pictured), the mushroom soup (when they have it), and the fries. Darn good place for lunch or a quick bite after a hockey game. We were curious about this bar when we saw it "behind" the gates of the Hershey Park waterpark...and it ended up being one of the only places open after 9 pm on a Monday night, so we gave it a try. Awesome cheese steaks and fries. Everything prepared fresh. Keep in mind this is a local bar with food, not a Red Robin with a bar, so it might not be "appropriate" for small kids after 9 pm. There was only one waitress for 3 tables (to be expected at a bar) and food worth the wait. read more

We really were looking forward to trying this place out. We heard the food was amazing, but sadly, it was not. The crab cakes were soggy, and the French fries were mushy. We darted in for a quick lunch sandwich. We did not sit at the bar because we didn't want to occupy bar seats while not ordering cocktails. When we ordered waters ahead of our meals, the bartender audibly huffed, turned her back on us and stomped away. read more

A typical dive bar. Its no frills. Has good food, and the service is efficient. I've been here twice now and I want to LOVE it. Something is off for me. I don't know. My feeling is that they cater to locals but they see so many tourists that if they don't know you-know you you kind of get average treatment. Don't get me wrong, they're fast and really sharp with taking orders and getting things right and tabs organized. They're spot on. Just not feeling warm and fuzzies. I mean I don't need a big hug or anything, but I feel like they don't truly APPRECIATE your presence in their establishment. Now in their defense this past time I went I was with a larger group and I just feel like they were annoyed with us. The time I went just with my husband they were much friendlier. So I can't put my finger on it but when I left this past time I just didn't feel it. Anyway the food is great. Service is excellent. Staff I am sure can be friendly but maybe I caught them on a bad night. Or they didn't like my group. Who knows. I'll still go back and if I feel differently I'll throw another star on my review read more

Truly a Hershey classic. I love this place and it's food. Worst part is the parking but by far the best dive bar in town.

Had a fantastic experience at the Parkside tonight. We had a group of 7 not long before the kitchen closed and our server Heather was amazing. She served us quickly and was beyond friendly. She was the only employee manning the bar and both indoor and outdoor seating areas and did it with a smile on her face. We will def be back!!! read more

We are staying in Hershey for the weekend and stumbled across this place by chance last night. It was packed due to a concert but all of the servers were friendly. After the crowd thinned out we got a table and ordered food...clams, fries and wings. Everything was good and prices were so cheap, even for alcohol. We liked it so much we went back again tonight for dinner. We sat at the bar and once again food and service was spot on and we got to speak to some of the "regulars" who were super nice and they played some great music. From the outside it doesn't look much but don't be fooled...place was very clean and food was great. read more

We just left the Parkside bar in Hershey. It was not a pleasant experience. The bartender was slow and barely acknowledged us. I guess because we are not regulars are service suffered. We ordered a fried appetizer (blue balls) waited a half hour before we asked if she even put the order in. She did not. I am in the service industry and this would not be acceptable where i work. I will probably never go back. At least not on a Wednesday day. It is a shame because the inside of the bar is actually very nice. read more

Stopped in here for lunch on our way to Troegs for a brewery tour. We split the pit beef sandwich and upgraded to onion rings. Skip the onion rings they're nothing special. But this sandwich...just do yourself a favor and get it! Ours was definitely smaller than we expected due to other yelpers pics of an over stuffed sandwich...ours was definitely not. We got it with a side of horsey and BBQ sauces and it was delish! Bartenders were friendly and efficient. Definitely a dive bar but worth the visit for the pit beef! read more

If you're looking for fancy, this place is not for you. However if you like good food and a very reasonable price, have I got news for you. From pit beef sandwiches to steamed clams you get a good meal without denting your pocketbook. Daily drink specials add to the fun. Being a "jersey shore" boy (the place NOT the show) I find it hard to believe that a dozen clams are 1/4 the price of what I pay and the clams come practically out of my back yard. Service is friendly too. This is a must stop if you are ever in Hersey and are tired of the overpriced name brand joints. As mama used to say, "Try it, you"ll like it..." read more

Such a cool spot we stopped by for a late lunch! Great service and even better food. We tired a little bit of everything from the MD crab soup, to the wings, the pulled pork, and the classic cheese steak. Everything was fresh and super tasty.
