Meters don't run past 6pm so I didn't need to pay. At 7pm, the establishment had almost reached capacity, but a few tables remained. I sat down and ordered my go-to, the spicy seafood noodle soup / jjampong ($19.99). Since I last visited, the menu had gotten a revamp. Jjampong now has a dedicated section. A previous iteration of the menu had a regular portion for $17.99 (v-shaped bowl with tapered bottom) and a larger one for $19.99 (deeper round bowl); now only the regular portion is offered at the updated price point. Otherwise, the dish remains unchanged. The sauteed vegetables and seafood carry strong amounts of smoky wok sautee / wok hei, which also permeates the broth. This dish is still a comfort food of mine, but I will reconsider visiting if the price points breaches $20.

Do note that because they're assuming a party of 2, when making a seafood and meat selection, it'll be for the BOTH of you (ie: you only get 2 seafood and 1 meat choices, not 4 seafood and 2 meat as we had originally thought). We decided to be baller and went with the Premium option ($98 per person as of 9/2026). Here are what we chose: - Appetizers - An assortment of banchan side dishes that are common in many Korean restaurants with a noticeable improvement in flavor and quality (Japchae was especially tasty). The kimchi was good and not overly fermented (plus for me, slight minus for the missus). The biggest bummer is that there is NO refills. - Seafood - We happened to get the Boton Ebi (a single marinated shrimp) as well as the Yanyong Scallop which were both fresh. Note that they are both raw so if you're not into raw seafood then beware! We selected the Ganjang Gejang which is a raw marinated crab in a sweet and savory soy sauce. Luckily they provide you with gloves so that you can get in there without making a mess of your hands. It was indeed fresh but wasn't my cup of tea (not used to raw crab). The missus LOVED it however so if you're Korean, this is likely right up your alley. Meat - We selected the Kalbi Chim and oh boy was this delicious. The sauce the kalbi was braised in was delicious and the meat was so tender and flavorful. I wish we had 2 servings of this as I would inhale both of them. Likewise, the A5 wagyu was equally delicious with a sweet and savory sauce glaze poured on top of the sizzling steak. It was a melt-in-your-mouth experience and another highlight of the meal. Main course - The Samgyetang is one of the main attractions to this establishment. Again, if you're Korean this dish can hold a special memory for you. As for me however, the best analogy I could come up with is to think of it as a chicken noodle soup, only with gelatinous rice instead of noodles. It's quite the spectacle as they bring out a portable stove to boil the dish on. The wait staff will then break apart the chicken for you which is nice. I will say that the chicken was delectable and extremely tender. The broth is very comforting and perfect for a cold day. I was surprised as to how much I enjoyed it. Be wary of bones however! Dessert - Ice cream from an establishment across the street. Nothing special for us. Overall we enjoyed our experience here. One of the BIGGEST issues we had however (aside from the non-refillable side dishes), is the complete absence of complimentary rice for the meal (aside from the rice in the Samgyetang which happens at the end. We found it baffling that it's $4 for a small bowl of rice (barely enough for one). Considering the delicious sauces we had for the A5 wagyu and the kalbi chim, it's such a waste to not have rice to mix it in. For $60 (or $98), the fact they don't include rice is a slap in the face for anyone who enjoys Asian food with rice and comes across as stingy (the rice was nothing special to us!). Our recommendation to the owner/chef is to throw in some rice for free as I'm sure they won't go bankrupt over it. Docking them for the rice alone. Aside from that I would still recommend this location especially for those who enjoy a hearty Samgytang.
