I was at the Navy Golf Course -- Seal Beach (located in Cypress) last week for an event & took note of the Take 5ive Grill & Bar near the Special Events Room. We came back after seeing all the positive Yelp reviews & enjoyed the food, service & ambiance. Lots of tables, a cozy fireplace area, lots of windows with a nice view. I felt like I was on vacation! We ordered The Cubano Sandwich (a flavor bomb of ham, carnitas, cheese & pickles), The Classic Hamburger & the American Dog. All delicious! Each one came with choice of side. We went with Green Salad's & Onion Rings. The salad was fresh & had olives, tomatoes, shredded cheese, etc. There's a full bar, Starbucks coffee & other beverages. Prices are quite reasonable by today's standards & the staff is welcoming & attentive. You order at the Bar & the food is brought to you. My friend and I arrived right before closing (around 11:00 PM), and they were kind enough to cook our food ahead of time so we could still enjoy a hot meal. Even though they were getting ready to close, the staff and cooks welcomed us with kindness and never made us feel rushed. I tossed mine in the air fryer for a few minutes and it crisped up perfectly. My box included 2 Sicilian pepperoni slices, 1 Sicilian sausage slice, and 1 regular cheese slice. We ordered tacos for taco Tuesday and they brought out chips and salsa. The chips and salsa are usually my favorite here. However, the chips they served this evening were not good at all. It was evident that they did something different. They did not taste good and they were very thick with no flavor like usual. I ordered a fish taco and normally the fish is one large piece. The fish taco I received this evening was one small piece cut in half. It was very noticeable and when I asked the waiter, he did not seem to know why. Lastly, when we got the bill, they overcharged for the tacos. It was supposed to be $2.99 for taco Tuesday, but I was charged $3.69. When I altered the waiter he promptly corrected it. I am trying really hard to justify coming back but after having no AC both times and the food quality changing, I'm not sure if I will return.
