Estrada's Grill has been established on Chapman for as long as I can recall. This was my 1st visit & I wasn't disappointed. Located in an old strip mall, the parking lot is old, but there are plenty of parking spots. You can enter from the parking or from the street. There were three people in line when I arrived. They ordered their food and then sat down. As I had never been there before, and the lady ahead of me had, I ordered what she did. The special was three tacos for some reason reasonable cost. I had a choice of potato, chicken or beef. I got one of each. I started with the potato as that is one of my favorite tacos. It was a little on the bland side despite adding the accompanied green sauce. Which was delicious and hot. I believe it would have benefited from pico de gallo. They had a great deal of lettuce and a little bit of cheese and no tomato. The covered patio is surrounded with plants. It was loud against the sound of Chapman just on the other side of the sidewalk. Yet it's preferable to the indoors booths IMHO. They have soup made on the premises as well as lots of options on the menu. I'm looking forward to returning and trying more to find what is best and what isn't. Drove by this place for years and finally make a stopped to check it out. Plenty of parking since they have a huge parking lot on the side and behind the place. They do have a big coveted patio and a small inside seating. Menu is quite big with both Mexican & American dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Was in mood for pastrami therefore got the combo and the cost with tipping is $23 total. Portion is small but perfect since I shouldn't eat much in the morning (just a crazy craving at the moment). Staff is very nice and very friendly, she knows the customers there and their orders without them telling. The place is small but nice and clean and spacious. The foods are very good and tasty. Ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon.... The burrito came out super fast which had me curious and confused. It was about 7:20am when I ordered it in person. To my surprise the breakfast burrito was just fully loaded with potatoes (hash browns) from top to bottom. At first I thought maybe it was just a certain portion of the burrito being inconsistent, but it was throughout. There was some cheese, some eggs, barely any bacon. I only got hashbrowns and coffee and the hashbrowns were made perfectly....the coffee was just normal coffee don't be going here like you think it's a Starbucks! My friend got a veggie burrito and he liked it and my other friend got a breakfast burrito and she liked it... This place is close to my mother's home. I came here twice in two days. They were an interesting contrast. Yesterday, I had a burger with onion rings, fries, and zucchini. The burger was ok. Not a tremendous amount of flavor - pretty generic. Thickly sliced onions and tomatoes made it pretty big to eat. I ate less than half. The fried sides were very greasy and really needed salt. I ate 2 of the rings. The whole thing was kind of blah. Today, I was in this area at lunch again. I noticed people seeming to really enjoy Mexican food yesterday, so I decided to give them another shot. I got huevos rancheros. Really quite good. Three eggs perfectly cooked with gooey yolk. A red and a spicier green sauce adorned the eggs, with cheese sprinkled on top - served with beans and rice. Everything was delicious. The corn tortillas with a little beans and egg inside was so good dipped in the egg yolk. So the moral is get Mexican food here; it's delicious. I'm sure the burgers have their fans. This place has that classic old-school Mexican vibe and I like it! You order at the register and go find a table. Spanish is spoken more than English here, which is a plus. They also have great breakfast plates and burgers, in addition to classic Mexican fare. Everything is good, tasty and priced right. The chile relleno burrito for $11.99 was totally worth it! It fed me for 2 meals. I think the sauce could have been better as it tasted more like spaghetti type sauce. So need authentic sauce. I must say, the burrito tasted better the next day! The service was outstanding as we were the only group in at that time which made us wonder why.‍. And I think I know why, we were not told about the extra $3.00 charge for using a credit card. Another expense .. i don't know any restaurants in the area that do that ...$1 fee would have been reasonable ... like some nail salons add. But I hate to see this restaurant go down because I like the ambience..decor.. spaciousness... and service. I can't believe I haven't written a review yet. We have been eating here as long as they have been open. Several years now. Even after 50+ visits we still have not tried the entire menu. Maybe because we end up ordering the same things often. My personal favorite is the Chile Relleno Plate. Chile Rellenos are simple but the sauce, cheese and chile make it so delicious! I order it for breakfast or any other time of the day. Definitely a go to!!! I have also really enjoyed the chips and salsa. They also have some sauces in squeeze bottles, a red and green, both yummy. They are getting ready to open a second location, Estrada's Cafe. I'm am super excited to check that out. read more

I have been really wanting to try this place and I finally pulled the trigger. My coworker raves about their burgers, so I decided to go for the Hickory BBQ Cheeseburger. I put my order in through Yelp and went to pick it up after I was alerted it was ready. Got there and they were still making my fries. No biggie, I can wait and get some fresh fries. Location is clean and the staff is courteous and friendly. One of the waitresses/ hostesses helped me promptly and validated my presence when I got there. The food: DELICIOUS. The burger was HUGE, and the flavor was not lacking. Sauce for the size of burger: perfect. Not too much, but enough to get in every bite. The fries, crispy, seasoned well and evenly. The bummer was when I realized that I had ordered the basket and got only fries. I even forgot to take pictures of the massive burger since I was so excited. I was really looking forward to trying their onion rings and zucchini fries. I should've checked before I left. Again no biggie, pobody is nerfect and it gives me an excuse to go back, but it would've been the best experience if they had double checked the order. I will return. read more

I'm honestly mad at myself that I've lived down the street for 3 years and never came to Estrada's. They're in the same lot as Perry's which I've gone for fundraisers, etc. I'm glad I now have a local (and authentic) go to for my Mexican cravings. - $6.99 chile verde burrito (conferti cannon!!)...my GO TO item. Spicy with a light linger, scorching hot, & packed with meat and chile verde sauce. (Santa Ana spicy...not white gloved OC spicy.) - $6.99 carne asada burrito does not come with guac if you want it, be sure to add it. The burrito has a ton of good quality perfectly cooked asada. - $6.99 chicken burrito; my Mom loves their shredded chicken & said it was not overcooked. - $3.29 hard shell tacos; the chicken one broke and got almost immediately soggy from the shredded chicken sauce. The carne asada ones held up pretty well but if you're super hungry, I'd suggest the burrito and a side of chips. The meat ratio works for the tacos but two of them didn't fill me up. - $3.15 carne asada sope; it is so hard to find a good sope. Estrada's makes a good one, I wish it was fried a little longer as I had to fork & knife it after two bites. The collapse could also be because it was loaded with beans, meat, cheese, and lettuce. Not a shabby reason for collapse! Sopes are my 2nd go to here. :) - (?) $4.99 is the cheese quesadilla, I always add the meat and forget to check the receipt on the $. The chicken quesadilla is my kids go to after the carne asada burrito. It's pretty standard but I like that it's super crispy and consistently loaded. Great for splitting. - $12.59 shrimp cocktail; looked promising but they forgot the chips and I didn't get a lot of shrimp. We did get a half of a avocado sliced on top which my husband enjoyed. We had it the next day when I bought chips and all the shrimp turned a really odd bright pink from the sauce. Overall ok, wouldn't order it again though. Definitely will be back! We have to try their tamales & the rest of the "South of the border" menu items. P.s. Don't forget to get the chips! They're thin, seasoned, citrusy...and delicious! read more
