Super nachos with asada
Cat B.

Been a long time customer at formerly Alertos and now sabrosada we still call it Alertos. Have tried many things over the years super nachos, super fries, asada burritos, tacos, carnitas and chicken tacos, chilaquiles, asada combos, breakfast burritos, etc. Portions are fairly large. They have the best nachos. The asada meat is good for the most part but there was a time several years ago that it wasn't we stopped coming for sometime because of that. Their salsa is pretty good hated that they got real cheap with it for some years. Prices have really skyrocketed items used to a third of what they cost now. Have not eaten in in a while so cannot comment on ambiance.

Got the $10 Taco Tuesday special today. Two beef tacos and a medium drink. If the medium drink is considered free, that means each taco is $5. The tacos were not that big. I felt this is a scam food item, especially since one of my tacos was smaller than the other one with very little beef. I probably should have ordered something else or ordered from the Taco Bell app (give you more for less). Besides from that, the service was good and the ambiance is okay for a small business.

carne asada fries (half order ~$15)

Their carne asada fries are the best!! Photo does not do it justice. We always place a phone order and it's ready in 20 mins. We get a half order (no beans) and it's the perfect amount for 2 people at about $15. Best comfort meal ever :)

MASSIVE BURRITO FOR $8! I have been craving a bean and cheese burrito for over a week and I'm so glad I came here to get one because it was so worth it. I was in and out of the drive thru in under 5 minutes, and the worker was quick and friendly. The burrito is even bigger than what is pictured too! I would definitely come here again and again. I've also had the carne asada fries which are really tasty too! Packed with flavor and the beans are nicely flavored! 10/10!!!

Ordered a full/large box of the Carne Asada fries. Came out after 5-10 minutes. Store only had a few customers waiting. For such a small place, there was plenty of seating inside and out. However the floors were a bit dirty. Taste was amazing, food came out quick, was incredibly filling for $18. (satisfied 2 people)

For nostalgic reasons, this place will always be Alerto's in my heart. Heck all my friends and family still call it Alerto's. The food is still good to this day but damn the younger generation will never know, cause back in the early 2000's the food here was fresh and top notch. A carne asada burrito or nachos back then was only $5. But hey inflation, it is a bit pricy here but only reason why I keep coming back is cause of nostalgic reasons.

Sabrosada aka alertos, use to be the go to spot for burritos for decades, but over the years the burritos has been mediocre at best. Late Thursday night decided to get sabrosada and pull up on the drive thru, my go to burrito is normally the pollo asada burrito $15 with tax. Quick 10 min drive home to eat it. When I ate the pollo asada burrito, it was basically slightly warm, Flavor of pollo asada tasted bland, with a lot of super cold guacamole. I felt the guacamole was too cold, so it quickly cooled down the pollo asada meat. Unfortunately the burrito failed badly to hit the late night craving. Bright side they did give me 3 small cups of red salsa.

Buche, Al pastor, and asada tacos

We were in search of some tacos and this place showed up and decided to try it. It isn't like most others we've been to. They do Not have mulitas and tripas. The street tacos were ok and packed on a lot of meat per taco. We didn't like the tortillas, they felt old and not good quality. Maybe they overcooked it. The deep fried hard shell taco was good. The al pastor quesadilla was huge! But very greasy, and the cheese wasn't the best choice. It didn't feel authentic. The fried chili pepper and onions were just greasy and not seasoned. The best part were the chicken flautas (3) per order, comes with lettuce, cheese, guacamole, and sour cream. For $6 bucks, you can't beat that. The service was great.

I was craving Birria tacos late in the evening, and after some searching, we found this spot because my husband was in the mood for flautas. We usually get our flautas in Garden Grove, but they close at 9 pm, so we were happy to discover this place. Although they didn't have Birria tacos, I went with quesadillas and flautas instead. My husband ordered street tacos and a crispy taco. The service was great--they even let us sample the drinks, and we loved the melon flavor. The ambiance was pretty typical for a fast food taco joint, complete with a drive-thru.

Frankly this place is expensive but the owners and employees cheap asf. $30 for 2 tacos and burrito and a drink not horrible but then they go to charge me for pickled veggies... ur 2 carrots 1 pepper and 2 red sauces is not at all going to suffice. Service is always crap and quality has gone way down since it was albertos. UPDATE: came back to see if the service would be any better 7/22 at 9:30 the thick girly and the skinny girly were busy laughing and chillin in the back to notice the entire line of drive through patrons. Then the attitude was crazy from the thick one with the sharpie brows - chose a struggle girly it's your job just pass me the hot sauce why are you trippin ...

Side of chips nice hot and crispy

My favorite Mexican fast food establishment. This location has to be the best too. The food, service, and atmosphere here is always consistent. The parking lot it's a little bit dark and hard to navigate since there some construction going on but so worth it. I typically dine in and the tables are clean spacious and spread apart. I always get a California burrito, fried chiles, side of chips, and half carne asada fries with extra crispy fries. I don't know how they do it but they make the food so fast and it's always so fresh and piping hot when I eat it. Their salsa bar is awesome too it has a great variety of salsas and veggies in it.

Foods good, but the service!!! I swear 10th time no carrots and jalapeños, everytime. I ordered a side of carrots and jalapeños, in the drive thru thought the speaker. You get one for free after that they charge you. I get it. At the window the lady is smacking her gum and gives me attitude. I didn't know you could chew gum, Asked if I want sauce, I said red cause, she gives me red and green. I get my food, I check the bag and there's no carrots and jalapeños! I had to call them back to open the window and ask for carrots! And jalapeños! As she walks away to get me carrots and jalapeños, I said I wanted 2 side. She gives me this little bag with barely anything in it and says we have to charge. She should have charged me for the first one I ordered through the speaker. I was trying to explain to her but she did not care. Just kept smacking her chewing gum.

Consistently delicious food! Having been to Mexico- this food hits the spot for a Tex-Mex or Mexican craving. Not sure why the rankings are so low. Service is quick. I've never eaten inside but the drive through is well kept outside ambiance. Cashier wasn't very friendly at drive through but I can look past that for the food. Worker was on phone behind drive through. Kind of gross. They skimped on the cheese the time I went to write this review sadly. One star off! The carne asada fries and breakfast burrito are always delicious. My taquitos were warm but not hot... still good.

$1 for two tiny extra sauces is wild

I love this place, but $36 for 2 burritos?!?!? And then I get the eye roll about asking for extra salsa? Think I need to a find a new place.

El Toro De Oro - Half Asada & Half Pastor Fries

El Toro De Oro

Earlier this month I was in the Little Saigon area (Westminster) of Orange County in Southern…read moreCalifornia on a Taco Tuesday with family and discovered this food truck in the ABC Grocery store shopping lot on the intersection of Magnolia and Bolsa. Decided to drop in and was delighted to know their Taco Tuesday special is $1 street tacos for a select handful of 8 protein fillings and $2 for 6 other choices. Even their regular price is still very reasonable. There was definitely a line around 6pm but it moved quickly. Love that they also have a self service taco condiments bar and area on the side of their truck where you can top your food with the freshly sliced or pickled veggies/chilis and slather on various taco sauces to your heart's content. Especially loved that they use a rotating gyro style meat grill for some of their meats. I also noticed they had another truck/van parked nearby where one of the staff would go to replenish some of their supplies for their taco truck. What an efficient way to keep up with demand by having a mobile/secondary vehicle that you can use for storage of stock to keep up with the high demand. I loved all the street tacos that I tried: carnitas, fried fish filet, al pastor, carne asada. Flavorful and done right! Definitely recommend this spot any day of the week when they're open, but especially for their Taco Tuesday specials.

Honestly, this place is terrible. It doesn't come close to the superior Tacos El May right next…read moredoor. I used to come here on Taco Tuesdays only because the tacos were $1 and the line at El May is always too long. I chose convenience over taste, but in the end, this place offers neither. On my last visit, I waited about 40 minutes for my tacos. I ordered six and only managed to eat three before realizing I had overpaid and that the $1 tacos weren't worth my time or the effort it took to chew them. I threw the remaining three straight into the trash. I genuinely chose to go hungry rather than finish them. The meat and tortillas were both bad, and the portion sizes were pitiful. I honestly don't recommend this place at all, especially when Tacos El May is literally right next door.

This one has been around for a long time and still draws a steady crowd. They used to be open twenty four hours, which was a huge perk, but even now it remains a go to choice for quick and flavorful tacos. I ordered their street tacos, which continue to be some of the best I have had in Orange County. They remind me of tacos I have eaten in Mexico. They are small in the perfect way, two or three bites and you are through the taco, which is exactly what a good street taco should be. The meat has a rich and savory flavor that stands out right away. The red sauce is bold and adds the right amount of heat without overpowering the rest of the taco. The staff here is consistently friendly and welcoming, which adds to the charm of the place. Service moves fast even when they are busy. Inside, the space has that classic street taco shop feel. It can get crowded, especially during peak times. The only thing I would like to see improved is a little more attention to cleaning the tables when the rush hits since you sometimes have to sit at a spot that was not wiped down yet. It is not a major issue but it is the only reason my rating is four stars instead of five. Overall, Taqueria Mexico is excellent and remains one of my favorite spots for authentic street style tacos. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a simple and flavorful meal that feels true to the roots of Mexican street food.

Taquería Mexico: The Incredible Shrinking Taco…read more I remember when this place had lines out the door. Cinco de Mayo, I'm craving tacos, I show up expecting chaos. There's 3 people ahead of me. Jackpot, right? Wrong. They move so slow that a line forms behind me anyway. 15 minutes later I finally order: 2 carne asada, 2 al pastor to go, onion + cilantro on the side, salsa included. $2.65 each, FYI. Get home, crack open the foil, and... are these tacos for ants? I'm not crazy, so I did what any rational adult does: pulled out a food scale. Three tacos, weighed the meat. All came in at _under 1 oz_. Normal tacos run 1.5 oz. These are missing a full half-ounce of dignity. I usually need 2-3 bites per taco. These? One bite. I tested it. Slid right in like a communion wafer. Flavor? Aggressively mid. Carne asada tasted like it gave up halfway through cooking. Pastor was just... there. Nothing offensive, nothing memorable. Like a beige PowerPoint slide. Sides? Salsa bar? Pickled onions, grilled jalapeños, radishes? Nah. This place is a desert. You get foil, meat confetti, and the crushing realization that $2.65 bought you disappointment. Now I know why the line died. Taquería Mexico isn't even phoning it in -- they hung up. Orange County really is the undisputed champion of mid tacos. I live 1 mile from the LA County line and I'm forced to cross it like a taco refugee. Sad, because I _want_ to support brick-and-mortar spots. But not when they're actively shrinking my dinner. Giving them 3 stars on Yelp because I was raised right. Real score: 4.8/10. The pics on their site are pure fiction from 2012. Don't believe me? I took a pic of the meat on my scale as evidence. CSI: Taco Division. Do better, Taquería Mexico. This is shameful.
