This place holds such a special place in my heart. Took my son here for the first time last week. As a kid, we used to make the drive for special occasions or we would go for a school field trip. Now I'm lucky enough to live 20 minutes away. We came in and were seated right away. Much better than going on the weekend where it can be a three hour wait. Ordered my son a pancake and I ordered the Irish eggs. Both were equally delicious and my son was so excited to get a little maple syrup bottle to pour on his pancake. A country restaurant off the beaten path that has a warm and inviting feel. The food can be described as country comfort. I had the maple ribs with eggs and toast, which was good but not great (the ribs were dry in some areas). I also sampled the BLT that a family member had ordered. It was loaded with bacon and can be described as the quintessential BLT. The atmosphere is like stepping back in time in a large barn type setting with creaky floors and an open area vibe. The service was helpful and attentive. They also have a substantial two floor gift shop attached with unique gifts and their own made maple syrup and other products. If you love maple syrup, or donuts, or cinnamon rolls, that is just the beginning! You won't mind waiting 45 minutes to an hour to be seated because you are never far from that sweet, mapley aroma - inside and out! The best thing about this place is the ambiance, and great food. The baby back ribs are like candy. Their homefries are superb, and if you only had one pancake, it's giant. I couldn't finish anything this visit, but got a taste of it all. Wait staff are friendly and experienced. I'm so glad we chose this place. One more thing, for the amount of food you get, the prices are adequate. And, don't forget to visit their gift shop! This restaurants atmosphere is so lovely ! The decorations were cute, service was good; they even aloud us to move tables when we said one of the rooms was too dark for my mom to see. Next time I'll try the fried French toast , the grilled one was a bit dry though butter and maple syrup can fix that ! I loved my eggs florentine! The homemade fries that came with it were perfectly made with a little bit of crisp and not too soft. The gift shop next door was very beautiful. Whoever chooses what is sold in the store has great taste . Unfortunately the customer service in here wasn't too pleasant, from my observation the people that worked there were very unhappy and grouchy. honest opinion , you shouldn't work in customer service if you don't like people or helping customers for that matter. read more

This review is for my visit on 10/30/17. I've been here multiple times and have not had a bad experience. When I have a friend visiting in town and want to get a local experience with real maple syrup, this is the place for that. I ordered the homemade corned beef hash, eggs, home fries, and toast. The corned beef is well made and I added the tabletop salt and pepper (which has a variety of herbs and spices) to season it a bit more. It's been awhile since eating here so decided to give it a try. Place is cute, we had to wait a bit and found the gift shop to be very nice. Seated at the barn at a table for two. Noticed large ants on the floor a couple of which managed to climb up on us and that was not pleasant. It didn't seem to be the cleanest place, cobwebs and dust on the wall, bathroom old and dingy. Jenny, our server, was beyond exceptional! Very friendly, attentive and quick on her feet. The place was packed but you felt like it was just a table or two. Breakfast was so delicious and filling, even their homefries! Hash omelet wirh syrup on it was scrumptious..you even get individual syrup bottles to use and keep. Definitely a place to visit too. My husband and I first happened upon this restaurant several years back and have been about two or three subsequent times 2 years ago. We don't live locally and it was really expensive, so we only went on special occasions.. but we used to love it! From our experience, even going earlier in the morning, there was always at LEAST a 45 minute wait. Once inside, the service was extremely slow, but the apple pancakes and sausage patties were amazing. We also tried the pumpkin pancakes (seasonal), which weren't as great as we had hoped, but still okay. From what I remember, the staff were friendly. So all in all, we liked this place. Cool ambience outside, too. We had heard that Parker's was going downhill, that the food wasn't as good anymore, and that they were charging extra for more than basically a splash of maple syrup (?!?), but can't validate those things because we didn't even get in the door when we tried going yesterday. As mentioned, we hadn't been in two years. We went later than usual (10:45). The parking lot was, as expected, packed. We parked across the street in a grassy area where the sign was pointing, saying "park," where there were dozens of other cars, too. We went to go stand in a long line to put our names in. The expected wait was one hour and ten minutes. After about half an hour, they make an announcement over the intercom, rather abrasively, that anyone parked on the grass must move their car immediately or get towed, which included us. We had literally followed the sign they had with an arrow showing us where to park, but okay, fine: we move our car, no problem. We were the first to do so and encountered an older female employee while on our walk back from the parking lot who told us to move our car, to which we politely stated we just did. She interrupted us and YELLED at us to move our car NOW or it will be towed. Tried getting the words out again to explain, but she interrupted us AGAIN and yelled to move our car. This exchange continued for a few more angry "move your car's" until we just walked away. Apparently this area was their leeching field. So many people had to go move their cars who were in the middle of eating, too. Perhaps permanent signage or roping-off should be considered as I can NOT believe this is the first time this has ever happened... this apparently-restricted area is literally IN THE PARKING LOT and this place is ALWAYS busy. In any case, we were told to check out The Outpost to get coffee, donuts, and cider while we waited. We were about to wait in another long line for this, but saw the 'cash only' sign. No cash on us since the restaurant takes credit cards. Very long story short, after waiting over an hour and a half and taking a verbal beating by the staff, we gave up and didn't eat here. After 10 years of threatening to go- we went. We were there before 8AM on a Sunday- perfect timing- before the hordes got there. The breakfast was a real stick to your ribs kinda thing. Pancakes were very dense- so not my style, but family liked them. Fried blueberry bites were awesome. Liked the little bottles of syrup. I had an omelette- nothing special. Home fries were addictive little bites of deep fried potatoes. Service was quick and our waitress was very nice. Glad we went, but not sure it would be worth the wait to go when crowded. If you asked me to write this review the first time I came here years ago it would have been 5 million stars, as that had been an occasion where I was hungover, beyond tired and hadn't eaten anything that resembled breakfast, never mind maple syrup in eons I would have shoved cardboard in my gullet and called it gourmet at that juncture. After a few times at Parkers I can say this much. .. its not spectacular but it certainly isn't bad for breakfast and early morning diversion. The ride here can be a bit arduous if you don't have GPS and not familiar with the area. Do yourself a favor and ask a buddy to drive! its a nice ride up to scenic parts of southern NH in the warmer months. That being said Parkers has been around for over 50 years and as a result its a little local tourist trap if you will. If you aren't arriving before 9am on a Saturday or Sunday , you will be waiting over 40 mins for a seat. They have a system where you put your name in and they call it when the table is ready over a loud speaker. Since the wait times are so typically long they have a sugar shack, coffee and doughnut stop and a little country store on the property as well. You can take cutesy photos of the quirky signs and furniture on the way to the restaurant from the little store and theres also a little mini covered bridge. The store has a bunch of nice candies and your run of the mill lotions/soap/candles as well as cheap trinkets, postcards and do-dads. Downstairs you can find some nicer quality stuff, but its mostly just crap you can find on amazon for less. Very fun little diversion for youngins that are not so patient with long wait times. For the food, you have little choices on pancake/waffles here surprisingly. Only one kind of waffle and 2 kinds of pancake creations. found that to be awfully strange for a Maple Barn. Also another nice thing is they sell 5 grades of maple syrup in the store and have it available in the kitchen, however if you don't want the lowest grade, thinnest maple syrup, you must ask first, and pay an up charge. Bunch of Hooey if you ask me... Waffle was executed perfectly and nice n crispy. My bf had the lumberjack's breakfast and while he did like it he said the ham was ultra chewy and cheap. Nothing to write home about, just not bad. I like the ambiance in here more than anything. It will remind you of a car trip you took with your parents when you stumbled on a nice diner in the middle of nowhere. The windows are all screened , twist arm windows that will make you feel like you are back at camp sitting in this log cabin place. The decor is cute with signs and artifacts from the local area, but I really did not notice it being overly cutesy or touristy to be honest. As a native new englander, its sorta hard to avoid that, but here its really reasonable. I'll be back to make a chicken and waffle creation of my own here. Ok to start off this review.. Im in New Hampshire on a business trip with very little time off. The tourist guides recommended this as the #1 South New Hampshire destination for breakfast.. The deep fried french toast is the best tasting thing I have ever eaten in my entire life. The potatoes were crispy, perfectly seasoned and found myself wanting more. The meal was good but we were all VERY disappointed that we saw nothing at all about a Maple farm it was like we just went out for breakfast. Man this place was good! And fortunately for me, there was ABSOLUTELY NO WAIT at all. The restaurant was about 1/3rd full, my friends were baffled. I came at about noon the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Maybe that's the lucky day that everyone is too busy to eat at Parker's. Their bacon was extra crispy, sausages had a snappy skin, blueberry pancakes were fully consumed (doesn't happen often with me), eggs were fresh and tasty, and everyone was just pleasant. Went with a large group, long cold wait as expected, so that doesn't factor in to my review. While the coffee came in carafes so we could refill ourselves, the coffee wasn't hot enough, and neither was the food. My husband and I always share to try more things, so we ordered a hash omelette and the special pumpkin stuffed French toast. The cheese in the omelette had hardened before we got the meal, and the French toast was dry and hard around the edges...chewy and hard to cut. No one seemed particularly impressed except with the ribs. The service was good considering what a mad house the place is. The other positive is that the noise level wasn't bad at all. We could hear both ends of the table which is highly unusual. Bottom line, we won't return to this place as is doesn't hold a candle to diners in the area. read more

Was happy to hear that Parker's maple Barn has reopened for indoor and outdoor dining! We went on a Monday morning and it was not very crowded. Every other table was sat giving everyone plenty of room to social distance. Our waitress Carrie was very polite and friendly. I ordered the stuffed french toast (it was strawberry) and it was great but very very filling so I only ate half and took the rest home. The other person in my party ordered the chocolate chip pancakes-- which you can't go wrong with! We also had the app sampler (mini cinnamon buns, blueberry donuts..etc) I was the best part of the meal! Try the Maple Frappe as well it was so yummy! read more

We really enjoyed eating at Parker's while we were visiting New Hampshire. We were staying in an RV park close by. Our friends in the area had highly recommended we visit this restaurant. The service was prompt and the staff was very friendly. My husband and I are both seniors. My Husband ordered the Parker's special with the buckwheat pancakes and it was an ABUNDANT meal. He especially enjoyed the meats that came with this item. I ordered the French Toast from the Senior/Junior menu and it was good. The toast came grilled rather than the also offered deep fried version. The bread had a cinnamon swirl and the flavor was good. Out of curiosity, I ordered what is listed as "Maple Cream". Since this was listed as Gluten-free, I was curious and the server was not able to provide much detail other than most customers really enjoy it. I would probably say this most resembled maple syrup blended with powered sugar, interesting but not something I would order again. The maple syrup was AWESOME and much to my husband's dismay, you get to keep the little bottles in which the hot syrup is served. I would go back, even though we rarely eat out for our breakfast meal. Those Maple Baby-back ribs and eggs are begging to be sampled. May or may not be worth the hype. I took my family here for a pancake fix while they were visiting from out of town (the south, y'all!). Had read about the insane wait so we went during the week, and no issues there. We were seated right away (mid-morning on a Tuesday). We first got the deep fried donut bites to share, which were good, but oil-heavy, and a little expensive for the small plate of 5. Breakfast was just okay, nothing to write home about. Service was really slow despite there being only two other tables that we could see. The biggest disappointment was the pancakes! We came to the Maple Barn thinking we would get some great pancakes, but they were dry and just not that good. I much prefer the ones my dad makes at home. The mini bottles of hot maple syrup were a really cute touch and made for a nice souvenir for my family to take home, but I probably wouldn't come again for a full meal. Maybe a coffee and dessert and then hitting the gift shop. The gift shop was what you might expect - like a NH-ified version of Cracker Barrel. A bunch of kitschy and cute stuff, but also tons of maple syrup, candy, and baking mixes. My family got some tourist items to bring home. If you're visiting and not already familiar with the "country store," this is a good spot to hit. The REAL saving grace was the small antique/thrift shed outside of the gift shop. I almost didn't want to write about it, because it seems like a secret I should keep. As a local, I quickly found about half a dozen things I wanted to take home, at really amazing "steal" prices. It's very tiny, but if you have a more rustic/NE aesthetic, I imagine you can always find something here. One of these days I WILL force JR to take me to their sugaring house, give me some time to browse the gift shop and bring some local product home for my friends. In the mean time, I will have to settle for a slightly damp motorcycle ride through the never-ending greenery that is New England to appear at a warm oasis in the woods, eat breakfast quickly, try to pee whilst juggling moto gear and a rain suit and drink the proper portion of coffee so I won't fall asleep on the back or have to stop every half an hour because my bladder is full again from the "pitcher per person" coffee they dole out here. Their food isn't that great- it's decent. Scrambled eggs could use a little milk to tender them up, and the limp, thin slices of bacon don't do a thing for me. If you like maple syrup and are not a coffee nazi, try their maple coffee. The service is quite good though- servers get your orders perfectly and are attentive if you need anything. My favorite part is the wood stove in the main dining room- it cranks out so much heat that if you eat too much, food coma comes at you like a freight train. If you're ever in the woods near Mason or Peterborough, stop in to Parker's for the maple sugar schtick. Everyone needs a schtick. This one just happens to be authentic. read more

The main parking lot gets packed- along with the others. The restaurant has a patriotic theme. It has old school charm. While they make delicious kielbasa and breakfast sausages, the maple syrup is the highlight. Their maple syrup baked beans comes with delicious New England brown bread (the type baked in a coffee can) While Dunkin' Donuts&Starbucks now offer maple coffee, at Parker's, it's the genuine article, since their maple syrup is made onsite. The service is excellent- we were lucky with a particularly thoughtful waitress. Pro-tip- Check out the very random gift shop, with its maple cream, maple sugar candies, Native American teas from South Dakota, Beanie Babies, and various patriotic items. read more

All were good, but I'm still thinking about that toast. Also, I am a complete foodie when it comes to understanding how my food got to the table, so I adored the maple farm tour. They need better signage on what the procedure is for when you want to give your name on the list. You have no clue what you're supposed to do. All it says is only one person can give a name. How bout putting please wait in line to give your name. I'm standing in line and people are just walking up opening the door and giving their name to the woman completely ignoring the line. But it's because no one knows what their supposed to do. And then we sit down. Waitress took forever to come to us. Once our orders were given we never saw her again. Someone else brought our food and she never once came back to our table. We then had to keep finding her to wave her down to get the check. I don't know why this place was so hyped. Here are my experiences in bullet point: 1. Would not split checks -loss of 1 star. 2.Food arrived cold on top and lukewarm in middle -loss of 1 star. 3. Waitress did not come back to refill waters. -loss of 1 star. 4. The only breakfast place I've been to in the country where you have to pay an additional $1.75 to get more syrup for your pancakes (This was not on the menu and instead was told me to me in the middle of my group of friends. A bit of a wait today but totally worth it. Plus there is a coffee stand, gift shop and sugar house to keep you busy while you wait for your table. I had the Maple Bourbon latte and it was SO good. Everything we had was amazing. I got the mini Parker's special and it was the best French toast and maple syrup (served warmed in an individual little nip) I've ever had in my life. The bacon, sausage and ham were so good. I think the sausage was my favorite protein of the three. Home fries were seasoned perfectly and crispy. My kids loved it too.
