We're out again having fun. We stopped in Wilton, NH for brunch at the Hilltop Cafe. What a nice surprise! The restaurant is rustic with picnic style benches in and outside. Unfortunately, it's rains so we are sitting inside. Our waitress, Alex, was very friendly with some advice on houses for sale in the area. She gave us some great leads to follow. We ordered some drinks like Frozen Berry lemonade and Black tea with apple cinnamon in fresh squeezed lemonade. They come in 16 and 20 oz. glasses. The Berry lemonade was frozen and very delicious. We ordered the Vietnamese Banh Mi with chicken, mixed Berry crepes, and Avocado toast with a fried egg. Everything looked great and tasted awesome. We had a great time talking to the waitress and the guests. We had a wonderful culinary experience. I would recommend that you make reservations on Saturday or Sunday. The inside was full due to the rainy weather. If you're in Wilton you should try the Hilltop, it's good food, good wait service and a family friendly restaurant. Stay safe and eat healthy! We went back to Hilltop a second time for a late breakfast. Service is always friendly and accommodating. I loved sitting outside this time around and taking in the farm and all it has to offer! We got hot coffee with caramel + maple. The breakfast sandwich I got (avo, grilled onions) was so good! My boyfriend enjoyed the huevos rancheros and he was pleased with his meal. We had a wonderful brunch here over the summer. There were 13 of us and we had a large table outside. It's really pretty in the back and the menu was very creative. Huevos rancheros, polenta bowls, veggie melts and Avocado bacon Swiss sandwiches were among some of the entrées that we had. The biscuits were very memorable with a nice honey butter. Yum! After spending the night in Wilton, my partner and I were on the search for some place to have breakfast. After looking online, Hilltop Cafe came up and we decided to give it a go. Hilltop cafe is nestled on a fully working farm in the actual farmhouse. When you walk into the venue, it's what you would expect a farm house to be. Rustic with wide wood floors. The walls feature art from local artists. The venue is truly compelling and gives Hilltop a specific charm. Upon walking in, my partner and I were greeted by the two people working, who were incredibly nice. When looking at the menu, the options all feature products from the actual farm. Fresh vegetables, farm-fresh eggs, French toast made from homemade bread...the options were endless. My partner and I opted for the breakfast paella, which was a fun take on a favorite of ours. They also serve a variety of drink options such as coffees, teas, and even $5 brunch mimosas! My partner and I opted for the iced coffee, which was great. Lastly, Hilltop prides itself on using compostable material. Every plate, cup and utensil that they provide are compostable! A friend highly recommended that I check outs Hilltop Cafe's Pizza night. We made reservations online. Their pizza night is Friday and Saturday nights. They have limited seating inside and out I recommend reservations. We ate outside. We enjoyed watching the farm animals. It was a little chilly, but their nice selection of hot tea was perfect to keep me warm. My husband had a Clown Shoes IPA. We split a garden salad, which was fresh and had a nice dressing. We got the spinach, tomato, feta and garlic pizza. It was fresh and so good. The staff were prompt and very friendly. At checkout we got a chocolate chip cookie and a macaroon to take home. A group of young people opened a rustic restaurant in a farmhouse in a very rural area of Wilton. As you enter the parking lot, signs direct you as to where you cannot park. This is a working farm complete with farm vehicles that need to access buildings. You enter the restaurant and it literally is made up of two rooms in an old farmhouse. It has rustic wood furniture with chair pads on the chairs. The menu is quite innovative with a focus on healthy eating. We went for breakfast and there were many unique things on the menu, such as Peruvian potato pancakes, tortilla espanola, a polenta bowl, lemon berry French toast, and a paella breakfast bowl. They also offer many different types of specialty coffees and teas. They also do lunch. We started with pumpkin lattes and I ordered the paella breakfast bowl and my wife ordered the tortilla espanola. Both were excellent and very filling. The scrambled eggs in the tortilla bowl were very light and fluffy with some herbs added. Overall, this was a unique and excellent breakfast experience. If you go, keep in mind that you are parking in a dirt lot on a farm. Drive your old, beat up pickup truck if you have one. read more

Hilltop Cafe & Bakery is located at the Four Corners Farm in Wilton, which is housed in an 18th century light green farmhouse. This cafe opened up earlier this year and is located in a secluded and peaceful farm setting off the beaten path at the forked intersection of Isaac Frye Hwy/Abbott Hill Rd. The ingredients and products used here are local, fresh, and organic and come from the farm and from local suppliers. They have seasonal menus for breakfast (until 11AM) and lunch, which are quite limited. The offerings include fresh baked goods (cookies, filled croissants, muffins, shortbread, sticky rolls..), 3 egg omelets, French toast with maple syrup, sandwiches, and daily homemade soups. Ice cream and yogurt are also offered. Gluten free options are available. The prices for most dishes/sandwiches are $5.50-$7.75 plus tax. The drink menu is more extensive including espresso drinks (from A&E), lattes, chai tea, hot tea by the pot, fresh squeezed juices, and yogurt smoothies. Coffee is not offered here, but they instead offer Americano (with 2 shots of espresso). I took a ride up to Hilltop Cafe for lunch recently. The cafe is order at the counter and there are three separate very cozy dining rooms with wood tables and chairs. The middle room has a brick fireplace and artwork on the walls. There's also table seating outside in front of the house. For lunch, I ordered the Veggie Sandwich ($7.25 plus tax) and an Americano ($2.00 plus tax) and the food was brought to my table. The Veggie Sandwich was A-OK to me. This veggie sandwich tasted healthy, which had havarti cheese, avocado, sprouts, red onion, lettuce with sundried tomato aioli and a small trace of balsamic vinegar drizzle between soft (untoasted) multigrain bread (from the Good Loaf), though the amount of ingredients was sparing :( , served with crunchy kettle chips and small orange slice garnish. I am not raving about the sandwich I had. However, the Americano was made strong and very good. That drink definitely recharged me for the nice sunny afternoon. If I happen to be riding in the country through this neck of the woods, I'll definitely order another espresso drink (very strong) and try a raspberry, mango, yoglurt, orange juice smoothie, and a few baked goods. Those peanut butter cookies and sticky rolls looked very nice. For now, 3.25 stars. It was an absolute joy to find the Hilltop Cafe. It is one of the most beautiful farm to table restaurants I have ever seen in that the cafe is located directly on a farm. We learned that a local couple runs a 4 course price fixed dinner service on Friday and Saturday nights. You have to be sure to catch the proper seating times as they are a two person team making the whole meal happen and can only accommodate serving all diners simultaneously. That said we came in late and they were gracious enough to serve us. We loved the atmosphere and the strong local connections so much we came back the next morning for breakfast and for a walk around the farm. What an absolute gem! We made a breakfast reservation for a Sunday morning and absolutely loved the atmosphere. There are tables inside and outside on the lawn close to the farm life. We ordered a few of the items and split them amongst the table- as no one wanted to have just one item! We enjoyed the spinach and cheese scone, llapingachos, yogurt, paella, and lemonade. The scone was out of this world green and cheesy, very flakey and everything you'd want out of a scone. I've never had anything like the llapingachos, and really enjoyed it. Fried potato pancake, lots of greens, peanut sauce, scallions, cilantro and eggs. What's not to like?! Yogurt is definitely fresh! You can choose your toppings- i had raspberry jam, granola, and walnuts. Slightly thinner than grocery store yogurt, but so creamy. The next time I go, I will definitely order the paella.
