The sales agent I worked with raved about the quality and care of customer's belongings. I was disappointed when several pieces of wood furniture arrived with scrapes, pieces of wood missing from the legs, and dents on the surface. My couch was also delivered with a thick layer of dust. They also lost the back cushions, rendering the couch useless. Filing a loss claim has already taken more time than it's worth. I gave up, but never again. Extremely disappointed.

Upon arrival she said because of the size, that it would be an additional $50 to move our tv since there was no box (she explained it was so their insurance would cover it. But they broke the tv and after their insurance wouldn't give their money for their fault, we were stuck paying $700 for a move and then having to buy a tv for $600 to replace the one they broke. They asked for photos, said they would pay us in 30 days, and still haven't a month and a half later. We will have to take legal action against them but I wanted to warn everyone not to use them. They overcharge for random fees and are incredibly difficult if something happens.

Friendly and professional, Jim was here in no time to do my estimate. On Saturday I got an early morning text with a status on where the movers were. 20 minutes later they were here. Friendly and again professional, four young men, Eric, Damion, Corey and Zack. It was in inside move from one apt. to another and they packed me up, moved me and unpacked me. They asked where to unpack things and did so with care for my belongings and put everything right where I needed. Literally unpacked me right into where I needed things to go!!!!!! I have a display case of cat figures and ceramic clowns and collectibles on care bears and rainbow brite LOL (a kid at heart); and they gently unpacked those items and neatly displayed them on the showcase shelf. I was in such shock because the diaplay looked better than the original set up I had!!!! Eastern Moving & Storage is awesome and they have such personalities that they make the move enjoyable! We loved Thompson Moving until our last move in December 2025. I actually wrote a review earlier,…read morepraising Thompson Moving. I was shocked when we again requested the company to move us a very, very short distance from one place in our rental community to a larger place in the same rental community. From the very first meet my husband and I felt uncomfortable because the man in charge came in with a nasty attitude. Lance spent more time in our restrooms obviously avoiding moving our belongings. While he was in our original apartment, he announced to us that our couch was oversized and he would NOT be able to get it upstairs in our townhouse. Lance had never been in our new townhouse so how he made that determination is still baffling. He claimed that we would need to leave our couch down in the basement. My husband removed the chair rail himself and lo and behold, the couch actually fit. One of his minions, kept telling us that Lance was an expert and knew what he was talking about. Lance was lazy and for every 10 boxes his helpers carried up, Lance brought one. Of course, that was when he wasn't hiding in our bathroom. At one point I couldn't take it anymore and finally told him that I was shocked by the way he kept dropping everything on the floor, unfortunately, so did his helpers with the exception of two of them. I overheard him outside telling his coworkers that he was tired of my "smart mouth". His coworker apologized to my husband and I for Lance's behavior and comment knowing we had obviously heard it. Thankfully, there were two guys that had a work ethic. A few more words about Lance. Lance continuously complained about how cold it was outside, which it was, yet none of his coworkers were whining. One of the guys was struggling with moving our couch at which point it dropped on his foot. That had to be extremely painful, but he continued to carry on. Later, Lance got scratched by a staple in our couch and so overreacted that it was comical. Keep in mind the poor guy that had the couch drop on his foot and then this large grown man practically melting down over what was equivalent to a paper cut. The other thing we noticed was that Jacob had talked about giving us a deal as returning customers, however, Lance actually charged us extra. I recommend that you ask Jacob ahead of time if Lance will be the one sent to you. If so, make sure you have toilet paper in your bathroom because that's where he likes to hide. I actually saw another review prior to our move and realized too late that the reviewer was referring to Lance. Hopefully Jacob has let him go, but unfortunately, the damage has been done and most likely we will not ever use Thompson Moving again.

Background follows: I had some cherished family furniture that I needed to donate. After learning about Habitat for Humanity ReStore, I used their very efficient web site and scheduling system. It was easy to navigate, and it worked perfectly. I received follow-up emails and text messages for the pickup, where the donated furniture was going, and reassurance that the family furniture was going to the right place. Because the furniture was too big for me to move outside, and as Restore can't come into the house, Restore assigned the pick-up to Bulk Brothers. Bulk Brothers acknowledged the assignment, and began their own follow-up text messages, keeping me informed of the vehicle license plate that would do the pickup, driver, and time for pick up. This whole interaction, and follow-on actions by Restore and Bulk Brothers was easy and professional done!
