Great customer service, I LOVE Paris West, they go above and beyond to accomodate you. I needed my pupil distance number and I called Belvedere square where I had my eyes examined and they told me that when I had my exam the Dr. didn't put it on my prescription and since I wasn't getting my glasses there they could not assist me. Our experience with Paris West Optical was fun, highly informative, and productive. I'd recommend their store for anyone who wants something out of the box, great quality, and personalized. We worked with Jason and he was phenomenal. I so appreciated how he was happy for us to browse independently or to engage hands-on with us. His main priority was that we found glasses that we felt great in. He was very proactive and authentic. His perspective is that "the decision doesn't end when you leave the store", and truly understands how important glasses are in everyday life. He passed along some knowledge that I will take with me for years to come, like how to see whether a frame "flows" with your face. He knows all of his products inside and out, and has been working with face shapes and features for decades. I have been a customer of Paris West for over 10 years. I love unique and quality eyewear, and this is the only place in Baltimore where that combination can be found. The staff is wonderfully friendly, helpful and patient...the patience is particularly important because I tend to take a long time selecting glasses. My favorite purchases were a pair of Bespoke Tom Davies tortoise frames (engraved with my name inside since they were custom made), a groovy pair of JFrey sunglasses and handmade Danish designed Orgreens. Both my husband and I have rimless Lindbergs-always in style and Lindberg produces a product that one can customize--lens shape, bridges and frames. I also see Dr. Rubin, their resident Optometrist, who is smart, friendly and has a great manner. I get my contacts at Paris West too. If you desire glasses that are distinct, well-made and make a statement beyond what the mainstream stores can provide, this is the place to go. OUT OF NETWORKERS-BEWARE This is only for out-of-networkers. First let me say, the staff is amazing and the dr. did a great job with my prescription. I love my glasses. The only complaint I have is regarding getting my claim form getting filled out for the insurance company to reimburse me. To be as brief as possible. I have made 5 phone calls over a 2 week period to have the doctor fill out my claim form that I faxed 2 weeks ago. Apparently the fax only goes to his office and he does not care to contact his patient regarding the situation or fill out the necessary paperwork for reimbursement. His staff have been friendly enough over the phone but with no follow through. They always promise me they will call me back and never do. I am about to make 6th and final phone call. After that, I'm sending my hubby in. If you are an out-of -network patient, I would suggest you look elsewhere or have the form to fill out before you go and make him fill it out while you are there. read more

This business has the best customer service and eyeglass selection. I had my eyes checked at UMD and a student did the exam. The Dr. did not check it. I brought the prescription to Paris west and they ordered new eyeglasses for me. The prescription was wrong. They fixed my new glasses free of charge. I will definitely return to Paris West. Based on the Yelp reviews and the recommendation of a neighbor I visited Paris West Optical and ordered a new pair of glasses on July 26, 2014. I was told that it would take from 6 weeks to two months to get the glasses because the frames came from France. I called six weeks later and was told by the gentleman who answered the phone that the glasses would be there in a week or ten days. Two weeks later I went in person but no one could provide me with an explanation for why after two months my glasses had not arrived. The owner was not around. I left a message asking that the owner to contact me with an explanation and expected delivery date. I was never called. Two weeks later (almost three full months after I ordered) I called again. After some checking I was told that the frames had been on backorder and were finally being shipped and should arrive by the end of the week after which the lens for both the frames and the e-clips would be processed in California, meaning another couple of weeks delay. To "compensate" me for the delay Paris West offered me $100 off the $1,100+ I had paid in full in July. I decided given the poor service - I needed new lens and have been struggling for three months - to cancel my order and go back to my old eyeglass shop. Had I known that the frames were on backorder I would have selected another frame. Poor service. I do not recommend this place. read more

I went to this shop after checking the stellar reviews on Yelp to get my Warby Parker frame adjusted. I even offered to pay for the adjustment. The person took my frames and returned back after 5 minutes with the frames far worse than before and told me its a Warby parker frame and he cannot adjust it. Such rude customer service. If you are not going to do it, just refuse in the first instance. Why do you have to make it worse and be rude about it? I did call the person to complain and he apologized. read more

Fantastic service! I purchased (2) prescription glasses as well as (2) pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. The staff was extremely attentive to my concerns. The owner, an optician, was very skilled as well as knowledgeable about lenses, frames, proper fitting, etc. He was very nice to work with and seemed very motivated to provide a positive experience for the customer. We could not be happier with Park West Optical. They have a great assortment of up-to-date frames. If you went to New York, you wouldn't find a better variety. The people that work there are awesome. Alike many other Yelpers, I was looking for a new place for glasses, something different than the norm with plenty of variety-well, I must admit I found it here and more! This establishment is actually pretty far from where I live, but it was well worth the trip! Cailin helped me and she had the best customer service of any place that I have been in a long time! I had some issues getting my prescription from my previous eye doctor (which is exactly why I do not go to that place anymore!) and then hit another issue with my HRA card, but they were more then patient and accommodating with me, and I walked out with 2 pairs of glasses that I love! I must also say that there turn around time for actually completing the glasses was amazing too! I got my glasses in less than 5 day! 5 DAYS!!! Awesome is all I can say for the staff and product for this place! I needed some eye glasses prior to my month long trip to South Carolina,I was measured for some frames on a Wednesday,however I did not have my HFS benefits card with me to purchase the glasses,so I told PARIS WEST OPTICAL that I will return the next day.I was later called out of town for an emergency incident at one of my construction site. I did not return Baltimore MD,until Saturday even..PARIS WEST OPTICAL was closed on a Monday and Tuesday.I showed up on the following Wednesday and the African -American eye technician said that I told him that I was coming back the next day. That automatically sent a red flag to me! So now PARIS WEST OPTICAL had all of a sudden misplaced my files " YEAH SURE!" what a coincidence!!! That was around August 1,2012 . I was later told that the Doctor probly moved my file and that I would be getting a call as soon as my files was located.I stopped by PARIS WEST OPTICAL serveral times after the fact. Guess what I still have not even received a courtesy call from PARIS WEST OPTICAL!!!!!!! I do believe that it is illegal to disgard/destroy active medical files!!!!!
