In one word ... Great! Excellent Japanese craftsmanship in lenses and frames, thoughtful more medically-oriented service with better frame comfort, I'm a convert :). Inside Uwajimaya Seattle, ID. read more

Excellent service and I love my new glasses. The staff were extremely helpful and kind.

Great experience! Very helpful customer service and smooth ordering. Quality frames and lenses. Highly recommend! read more

This place was recommended by several people so I finally went since I needed something with blue light and Costco had limited frames. The lady that helped us seemed extremely knowledgeable and detail oriented which I liked. The frames can be pricey but there are more affordable ones if you search. Will be back for future glasses! read more

Outstanding service! I've been a customer for a number of years. I ordered a pair of readers that weren't quite up to snuff and Paris Miki helped me pick out a suitable pair. I needed a smaller frame to accommodate a thinner lens. They're always friendly and helpful! read more

After looking up reviews about several different eyewear shops, I came across Paris Miki, which is a large Japanese eyewear chain. I shop at Uwajimaya regularly, but never bothered with stopping by this shop for a look before, until I decided that I wanted to update my glasses. The prescription is still fine, but four years with the same glasses/same look is a long time! I took a look at their table selection of $55 to $95 complete pair eyewear. The glasses are unisex if you are not sure whether they are for a he or she. They also have displays of designer glasses and sunglasses here as well which are discounted. Pretty good, given the shop is a bit smallish. The salesperson, Sylvia I talked to when picking out my pair was very knowledgeable about what glasses would work best given the prescription that I had and the style that I wanted. Settled on a sharp professional looking pair of eyeglasses. Since I want these glasses to last four years at least like my other pair given the expense, I went for some upgraded imported lenses made by Kodak in Japan. Who knew Kodak even made eyeglass lenses? Since these are special order, they have this contraption which measures your eyes for fit which I thought was cool. Even with the lenses upgrade, the glasses were under $150 which is pretty fair. Turnaround time was supposed to be 2 weeks, but I got them in 1 1/2 weeks. Though it took that long because of the special order for my lenses. There is no eye doctor on site, so you need to get a prescription elsewhere. It might be better to go to the Crossroads Paris Miki in that case as you can get an eye exam and buy glasses at the same time. Overall, I recommend Paris Miki for their good frames/lenses selection and great service. read more

I've been a customer at P M for years now. I like their glasses, especially the silhouettes, but most of all, I like the women who work there to give their best customer service. Thank you. read more

Several years ago I bought a very nice pair of lightweight reading glasses at Paris Miki. I loved them so much that when I had a new lens prescription I had the lenses changed out and replaced in the same glasses. Then yesterday I sat on them and really got the frame torqued. I went in and the woman who helped me just diligently attempted to fix them. She said they are titanium and very strong, but was concerned that they were bent badly and they could break. We went to the case where they carry similar frames and it turned out that they still had the same ones that I had bought. But this did not stop her from going in the back of the store and working away at them. Finally she brought them out to me and apologized for my long wait. Fixed miraculously! No charge, she said. I insisted on giving her something for all the work. She tried to refuse, but she must have worked over half an hour on them and they were perfect. I would recommend this shop highly! Excellent service, selection and value--very fine people. read more

Great service, very patient, helpful and friendly. They took the time to help ensure my new glasses turned out perfect. I'd come back again in the future. read more

Amazing. I went to Costco to buy a new pair of glasses. Their frames didn't fit my Asian nose, so I asked the woman if they could add nose pads. She said no, but - bless her soul - she told me about Paris Miki, where many of their frames are made for Asian noses (read: have larger nose pads.) Paris Miki has an even larger selection of frames in a space about half the size of Costco's optical department. Their frames are also about half the price yet twice as hip. The lenses were also very reasonably priced. I upgraded to a slightly thinner lens for another $100 or $150. I was really impressed with the quality of the lenses. The customer service was excellent. I believe I worked with Sawa. She offered to work with my insurance company, but I declined and paid out of pocket, then submitted for reimbursement. When Paris Miki got my reimbursement check by accident, then sent me a check in the mail right away. I will definitely return for all future glasses purchases! read more

Paris Miki located in Uwajimaya, it's that place I've always stopped by trying on fun crazy colored glasses on display and then finding a ton of glasses I really love.. but it took until recently that I finally bought a pair here when my frames came due! Since they do not have an eye doctor here you do need to bring your prescription, which is worth two trip process in order to get quality and cool glasses, I say! The selection here is EXCELLENT. All price ranges, styles from conservative to outright funky, plastics or wires, eye glasses or sun glasses, Ray Bans and sales galore. Team that with uber friendly, SUPER helpful and knowledgeable staff that helps you find what is best for you. I had a great time shopping for my glasses here and had no pressure but lots of help. First and foremost though is they provide the ULTRA-THIN and refraction lenses for glasses and I didn't really think about what the sales lady said until I put on my new glasses from here and for the first time I feel like I can really see, I don't have the glare, my glasses are not all coke-bottle like.Compared to my old glasses the glare was shocking that I was living with. Even shops that SAY they carry thin lenses do not have this version of JAPANESE thin lenses, this is an art in eye-wear that thankfully Paris Miki carry! Paris Miki staff worked with my insurance and did all the crazy paperwork for me so I did not have to worry and could get my frame and lenses credit that was due to me. I paid with my credit card, got the miles ;) and then a few weeks later my insurance check came back to me refunding most of what I paid as the deals on frames are so good here. :) Highly recommend if you need glasses and especially if you have a thick prescription! read more

They are willing to listen to your needs and provide you suggestions and after-sales services at no additional cost (lens cleaning, template adjustments, etc.). Love this place! I got my second pair of glasses from them today and I am a very happy camper. Narumi was my opt tech and she is an absolute doll to work with! She was very upfront with my choices, advising that I stick to glasses with nose bridges since my nose is flatter than most (haha). They were also very accommodating towards switching frames at the last minute. I originally left the store with an order for a purple frame but throughout the whole day, I kept debating whether I wanted that pair or a black/beige one. I decided on the latter and was able to change my order the next day with no trouble! Affordable yet still very stylish, that's my type of store! Overall, I think I will continue going to them for all my future glasses (: read more

Paris Miki - New glasses! (: - Eyewear & Opticians Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Located inside Uwajimaya. They carry a huge selection of eyeglasses and sunglasses. The woman that helped me was very helpful and patient. It took a while, but we found a pair that I liked and she placed the order - which came in quicker than expected. They will validate your parking for you (with purchase). Highly recommended! read more

While the selection of frames might be good for Asians, please be cautious of their pressure sales tactics. I was told that the frames I liked was the last pair they had. When I asked for information on the frames, they gave me useless information, possibly so I couldn't look up other retailers who carry the brand. I was also told that they make the highest index lenses available in Japan. Maybe they meant available in the US, made in Japan but she let me interpret it as the same index of refraction available in Japan, which is not true. Their high index lenses are the same index of refraction available at any quality eyewear store (except costco). I ended up going to a reputable retailer who provide a 1 yr warranty on frames and lenses. They also accept VSP, unlike Paris Miki. Don't get me wrong, I have bought plenty of great, super thin eyeglasses in Japan-- that's the best place to buy high index lenses! But I don't trust stores that have to bend the truth to get a sale. If something seems fishy, go elsewhere! read more

Whoever said size matters was dead wrong! Do not be fooled by the tiny size of this store: Paris Miki is a well-known Japanese chain, that I've seen abroad in places like Bangkok and Tokyo (of course!). I've now been going to the one in Uwajimaya for 6 years! (How time flies!) The frame selection has plenty of unisex choices, some with bold-ish colors (which I prefer) that are harder to find elsewhere. Familiar designer names are mixed in with lesser-known but awesome European, Japanese, and Korean frames. The latter ones are perfect for my Asian features :) One of the top selling points for me is that Paris Miki offers ultra-thin, no-glare lenses that are ordered from Japan! I loooooooovve these--and, by the way, I haven't found them in other shops. The price is reasonable, and delivery usually takes under 2 weeks. Plus, you get a call from Paris Miki when they're ready for pick up. But you can also order standard lenses that take less time--one of my friends got theirs in 2 days! Overall service is great, and personal. In the interest of full-disclosure, in 6 years, I've only had one not-so stellar experience, but never with the Japanese staff--the MVP being Narumi-san. I don't think I'm alone feeling surprised to be greeted by name when I enter the store after a year has gone by! (How?!?!? I can rarely remember even what I had for lunch yesterday!) One token of the quality of the service--and how they go the extra mile to provide with the best shopping experience. I stopped by Paris Miki towards the end of September 2017 to check out some frames. After 20 minutes, I narrowed my choices down to 3 frames, but left undecided. Due to business travel and end-of-year holidays, I ended up not making it back to purchase (lame, I know!). During this time, Narumi-san left me a couple of voicemail messages, which I only heard when I made it back to the USA in February 2018. Regretting that I hadn't used my glasses benefits for 2017, I visited Paris Miki on my first weekend back home. I was pleasantly surprised that Narumi-san had saved my choices, which helped me make up my mind in less than 5 minutes! Only my Amazon shopping cart works this good! Hahahaha! Also: they validate for Uwajimaya parking--and they'll helpfully ask if you need validation (which I inevitable always forget, hahaha!) Super pro-tip: come around 11 AM on a weekend, pick up a new pair of glasses, and then head to any of the great restaurants of the area to reward yourself for a great purchase! read more

OK. This place is AMAZING. I went because they had great online reviews, and my experience went way beyond them. While the store is on the smaller side, they easily had 400+ frames to look at from big- and small-name designers ($100-500+ a pair). More selection than I've ever seen, and I've looked in several Seattle stores. This place is the real deal. Sunglasses too. The two salespeople in the store were warm and welcoming. They helped me narrow down what I was looking for very quickly and accurately. Then, one of them brought out a pair of glasses she thought would look good on me from the back. They wound up being the pair I'm going to go with, hands down. They just know what they're doing. Meanwhile, while I was reviewing my lens options with the saleswoman, the salesman took all THREE pairs of my existing glasses into the back to adjust and clean them, free of charge. Just because he was kind and wanted my glasses to fit right. I got a great deal on a pair of backup frames, too. I got home and told my girlfriend that I found our new glasses go-to place. So go ahead, get your prescription at your optometrist, then get to this place for some incredible frames and even better customer service. They validate your parking if you park in the Uwajimaya lot, as they're inside the store itself. Full disclosure, I have VSP, and they don't take VSP. However, they will file a claim to VSP as out of network, and they said customers usually wind up getting $120-$150 off the total price. Completely worth going in and seeing what it all adds up to anyway, as most vision insurance plans suck and barely pay more than that. Plus, after that I got to wander around an incredible grocery store. Afternoon well spent. read more

I've been to many optical shops in Seattle from Downtown, Ballard, and Broadway due to my changing insurance and always thought that Paris Miki had the most reasonable prices for lenses, frames and they often have sales as well of 10-50% off. Price: Everywhere else I went they would charge you close to 200$ or more for high index lenses and the ones there are only about 120-160$. Honestly, you will only wear these glasses for 2-3 years before you need new lenses anyways and I didn't find a difference with any of the other lenses so I would highly recommend you come here even if you already got frames elsewhere. Options: They have a wide variety of frame options, from very cheap frames to frames for 300$+. I find the frames here to be more colorful option wise. Plus they have multiple Asian fit frames for those who need the extra lift for your nose bridges that you wont find elsewhere. Service: Wow! Amazing service! 3 jobs and insurances and multiple years later, I returned to this shop and low and behold the same lady still worked here and remembered me by name! They were super attentive as usual and showed me all the options they had that fit what I was looking for. And went over many of the pricing options available. Highly recommend this place! read more

For the past 6 years, Sawako & Narumi help me pick out the right glasses! I stumbled upon this place, because I'm a fan of buying food at Uwajimaya. What a treasure trove of current fashion frame options! The store is small, but is chock-full of glasses/ make sure you open the drawers and talk to them. They give you an honest opinion. Prices are fantastic too compared to other eyeglass places that sell high end frames. Their service is top notch plus the lenses are imported from Japan of the highest quality. I've been buying eyeglasses in many cities for many years and this place, hands-down, is my favorite from customer service to product! If you're a bargain hunter like me, buy your glasses when they have their Fall sale, usually late September through October. Lenses are half off and the frames have a little discount on them too! read more

Nice people. I had a screw come loose on a pair of sunglasses so looked for a place nearby to get it fixed. With no fuss, the person there just solved the problem, also cleaned the glasses, and didn't want to accept any payment. read more

I know, you have seen this place, and yes, it looks like the size of one of the walk-in closets the hoochie housewives of Houstatlantavegas might have. Don't knock the size, Paris Miki crushes in high style, service, and selection from any obnoxious boutique place or dopey Lenscrafters. The ladies that run the place are so sweet, and helpful to boot, and won't sell you frames that will not work for your face. My face is like Kryptonite for most eyeglass frames: flat, round, wide, with not enough bridge on my nose. Sawako-san was so patient, and I actually had a goofy time trying on frames. It was like a good sitcom montage of me in the mirror with animated faces and getting the 'yay or nay' head shakes from auntie Sawako. If you have the means, they have some baller, couture frames that go up to $500. My price range was under $200, and they don't try to upsell or push Gucci frames. They have brands no one else carries, and I'm a fan of Prodesign a Danish company. The lenses are all high tech from Japan. Japanese engineering, Scandinavian design for frames with Japanese white glove service. What else you want?!? read more

Simple elegance found at Uwajimaya Sawako Ago is one of the most helpful Asian women in Seattle. A petite woman (most likely in her late 20's, but looks like she'd get carded for a pack of ciggies) who is quite knowledgeable in eye glasses. Paris Miki always has discounts (20% of frames 50% of lenses). The frames they have are generally designer (Bulgari, Fendi, Dolce & Gabanna) or Japanese Designer (Takemi) They have great service and frames you can only find there. Differences between this an American places? 1. Lenses developed by Kodak. That's right..like the camera 2. Originality: You can't find these frames anywhere else Sure...go to Fremont for their popular store, over spend on a pair of Titanium Frames at Market Optical. But for simple elegance go to Paris Miki. read more

Short story: Wonderful selection of frames and customer service! Super thin lenses available so people like me don't have to walk around with super thick lenses! You should totally get your next pair from this place. Tip: They validate for the Uwajimaya parking lot. Long story: After going about three years without a vision check, time flies -- I totally didn't realize I had gone that long without one -- I finally decided to have my eyes checked since I am returning from full time employment to the life of a poor and under-insured student. Sadly, my eyes have deteriorated and I was forced to buy a new pair. I checked out several places without any luck before finally remembering this place. My problem here was that there were too many good choices. I had to settle on just one, because I really do need to save my money to pay for tuition. I decided to go with a pair of plastic frames. Since I'm Asian and don't have much of a bridge, I decided to try their plastic rubber stick-on nose pads. I picked up my new glasses about a week and a half ago. Today, the day before I'm scheduled to fly out for school, I realized that I really need to go in to inquire about the nose pads. My glasses fit well, but I've had these indentations on my nose since I started wearing my new glasses. Yesterday, the indentation on the right side of the nose formed a bump and hurt where the nose pad touched it. Apparently, the indentations were a bad thing. They recommended that I go with real nose pads instead. Since I was leaving in the morning, they told me they could have it done in 2 hours if I was willing to come back. Thankfully, I had my sunglasses with me, so I could walk around while they worked on it. In only 1.5 hours, I received a phone call to let me know that my glasses were ready. Normally, the real nose pads cost $25 (versus $9 for the stick on ones), but they didn't charge me for the upgrade. Did I mention already that they have awesome customer service?!? Making things even better was that they were offering their thinner lenses for 50% off. Lenses aren't cheap....at times, they can cost just as much as the frames (depending on your taste) or more. These puppies are thinner than the lenses on my last pair of glasses from Lenscrafters and I got them for less. Keep an eye on their sales and go grab a new pair of glasses when it rolls around again. Or, just go and check it out -- you may not even want to wait for a sale. They're just that good. read more

I've always passed by Paris Miki thinking the designer frames would be way out of my price range. But I finally stopped in last week out of curiosity and was happily surprised at the selection and prices that were available. I walked right in and Narumi greeted me kindly and was an amazing help! I'm super indecisive and she helped me pick through a number of frames till I found one we both thought were cute. The frames they carry are very flattering and comfortable to Asian or smaller faces. They also carry a Korean brand that is incredibly light-weight (sorry I can't remember the name). Incredible service, stylish and tasteful frames and fast turn around! read more

Ever since I broke my glasses in half (while cleaning), I vowed to find a perfect pair of glasses that I'd treat with a bit more care. As soon as I got my prescription updated, I visited as many eyeware stores as I could. However, every one of them failed me miserably. I was mad, disappointed, and simply aghast at the quality and variety of eyeware those stores shamelessly carried. One day, I stepped into Paris Miki. I was ready to be disappointed. On the contrary, I kept on finding frames that I liked with the help of my boyfriend and a super attentive (she is one of those aggressively nice Asian ladies) and knowledgeable store clerk (Sylvia). Paris Mike does offer all price ranges and styles. Everything was accessible (no need to ask someone to unlock glass showcases) and on sale (20-50% off). I did find a super chic pair, and the glasses were ready in 2 days (since they already had my prescription lenses available). I am super excited and cannot wait to debut my sassy glasses! (Well, I should have worn them already, but I love my new glasses so much that I don't want to damage them in any way by wearing them. I know I make no sense sometimes...) read more

I was so tired of searching all over town for glasses. I had my prescription ready, but could not find the style that I wanted which would always frame my face perfectly. Luckily here, I was able to compare quite a few by designers that I had considered (Ray Ban), to others by Japanese designers (that ended up being much nicer, and a better fit). The women who work here, told me that they could order thinner lenses from Japan which would make it far less obvious than what would have been some fatty astigmatism lenses. This only took about 2 weeks (or less), and then I was called back in. Things have gone perfect with these new glasses. I will definitely be back for future pairs. read more

Best place to get glasses! But, have the Japanese lady help you if she can. She is very honest and kind. I actually went in when it was just the Chinese lady and she didn't seem like she wanted to talk to me. First, I was waiting for about 10ish~ 15 minutes so I just left because she was on the phone trying to reset her email password over the phone or something? This happened about a few months ago though Editing from 5 stars to 2 stars. Why? The cloth they give here scratched my glasses up so badly!!!!! Didn't know it was from the cloth, thought it was from using my tshirt to clean my glasses that scratched it. Nope! used the cloth they give here on my macbook and was presented with 3 scratches. Paris Miki was one of the best decisions I've ever made for my face. I've been wearing glasses all day since I was 9 and have had a lot of different glasses-buying experiences. I was recently mostly sticking to buying cheap glasses online and was pretty happy about that, but a recent bump in prescription strength (to -10) had me reeling from distortion, etc. Every eye doctor type person told me I needed to get a better fit for my face, but most places either didn't have much by way of extended bridges or were rather pricey. Paris Miki solved all those problems. The employees there are super helpful and knew exactly what would work for me right away. They had an excellent selection for low-bridged faces, and I was able to get super high index lenses at a great sale price (1.8 I think - it makes my lenses look like baby lenses!! plus the distortion is waaay down). I got a way better package for about what I would have paid at most other eye glasses stores. Three months later and they are still some of the best glasses I've had in recent memory, and I still get random compliments on them, including from my partner who sees them on me every day. read more

I have bought three pairs of glasses this year alone from Paris Miki. They have a great selection of fashionable, affordable and designer frames. I bought two sets of frames from their discount $55- $95 (lens/frames/case included) tables out front which smartly lured me to a pair of fabulous Vivienne Westwood frames that were discounted by 50%. Not only that the lenses were discounted by 50% too! They are so gracious and very attentive to adjusting your frames to fit your head before you leave with your glasses. After shopping around at least 8 different eye glass shops and not finding any cool or flattering frames, this store hit the spot. I won't go anywhere else now for my glasses. read more

No lie, the workers here are great. My spouse who is Korean needed glasses with frames that have a deeper nose bridge. Looked at various in-network places as well as Costco and decided to come to Paris Miki in the Uwajimaya plaza hoping they would understand an Asian (and not European) nose. Their selection is great (both high and low end frames) but the thing that puts them above the rest of the competition is their customer service. We walked in thinking we would only look and not want to get hassled with the ASK. We walked out ordering a new pair of high index (1.7) lenses for $235 ($135 after out-of-network deductions). Narumi and her male counterpart that day were so helpful. While she was a great salesperson, we didn't get the sense from her of either being the pushy or the impatient salesperson. She was VERY helpful, bringing to my spouse various models and colors of frames. The difference between being pushy and helpful is that she wrote down for us all of our options (frame size, out-of-network deductions, cost of different high index lenses, estimated size/cost of lens for various frames). She was willing to write down the model numbers of the various glasses we had whittled it down to in case we wanted to shop the model somewhere else. She wasn't going for the quick sell, but was really helpful in meeting our needs. And because of this, we decided to go out of network and go with her. The icing was that it ended up cheaper (they had a sale on frames) than if we had gone in-network (while the frame was not completely covered out-of-network, the lenses more than made up for it). The total cost included: frame, high-index lenses (1.7; Costco = 1.67; highest is 1.74), out-of-network deduction, co-pay, and case. BTW, I just bought my own glasses at Costco a week before and am pleased with them. However, if I could do it over again, I'd purchase them from Paris Miki. It was that good of an experience (park in Uwajimaya and get it validated with Paris Miki). read more

I wish I had started here! After visiting the other high end shops around the city, I was beginning to think I'd never find what I was looking for. She was friendly, patient and very knowledgeable. I was able to find exactly what I wanted and at a great price. They have great sales on both frames and lenses. The staff, as well as my experience was phenomenal! Staff helped me select frames, which normally I wouldn't do but glad I did. My last visit was to the Bellevue Crossroads location, selection was greatly oversized frames (that I regretted.) How awesome it is to see again!! I selected Ray Ban cat eye, tortoise colored frames with very thin lenses. The frames were such a great style and were on sale!! I will recommend Paris Miki Uwajimaya to everyone I know!! Absolute godsend. It feels so wonderful to have staff knowledgeable, helpful and personalize an experience (that sometimes can be stressful). read more

I bought glasses from just about a year ago and it broke a couple days ago (I've been pretty rough with my glasses so it had nothing to do with the quality of the frames). I went to the Seattle location to get new glasses because I really liked the frame that I bought from them, but I asked if they could just fix it on the off chance that it was possible. They took my glasses for a couple minutes, added a part from the same brand (different color but I didn't mind), and wiped it down for me. I really appreciated the great service. read more

My partner and I wandered in to look for some new glasses for the both of us one day, and although we usually like to browse for ourselves, Sawako (from Paris Miki) gave us very friendly and helpful advice whilst giving us space to look for ourselves as well. She really MADE the whole experience for me, and I'm still really happy with our choice: Dolce and Gabbana DG3138 I think that in terms of cost, things are priced very well. I used to buy my glasses from my optometrist and then at Costco, but stopped here to browse. I didn't expect to buy anything, but really liked a pair of designer frames I couldn't find anywhere else. They have high index lenses for a great price, but the customer service is arguably the best part. It's a small shop, but they have wisely chosen a selection of simple and aesthetic frames, and everyone who works there really shows effort and care. The lady who helped me choose my glasses really explained my options and gave honest opinions to help me choose what lenses to get. They offer and even recommend free regular cleanings to make sure your glasses are taken care of. I went to pick up my new glasses today, and they were really thoughtful about adjusting them for them comfortable and proper fit. I'm glad I chose to come here for my first pair of high end frames!
