Dr. Roh thought my short, natural nails were "too long" (so weird)

I am writing this review anonymously and request NO contact from Wallingford Eye Care or their office whatsoever, including a response (both public and private) to this honest review of mine. BEWARE. Wallingford Eye Care is ridiculous, unprofessional and the WORST eye clinic in all of Seattle. Don't do this to yourself, and do NOT go here for any of your healthcare needs. The receptionist is extremely unprofessional, useless and unhelpful. Not to mention, Dr. Roh is unfriendly, not caring, and abrasive. I never felt comfortable talking to her or asking her questions. Additionally, Wallingford Eye Care does not accept VSP which is, again, ridiculous. Also, a WARNING: the positive review/photo by Christine M. is inappropriately and unethically posted here because she is a staff member at Wallingford Eye Care. Seriously, what a joke. I needed an eye exam urgently to renew my driver's license. My mistake was not accepting the horrible, yet accurate, reviews here and rushing into finding an optometrist that would see me right away. It goes to show that Wallingford Eye Care is not booked up because their unprofessional conduct is reflected in their low clientele. Wallingford Eye Care was constantly sending me phone call and email reminders for appointments which was just straight up annoying. I'm not a 12 year old child who can't manage their time without their parents' help . I'm a grown adult and college graduate with enough common sense to manage my time/appointments with a calendar that I use on the daily. I finally had to tell them to stop sending me reminder phone calls and emails because it felt like near-harassment. I got a weird vibe from the receptionist from the beginning. She enjoyed speaking in a condescending manner towards me and was very full of herself. I was unable to put my contacts in for my contact follow up, and the receptionist gave me weird looks and questioned me if I actually have contacts. Um, yes I do (my appointment was for a contact follow up which indicates I had been in before), and I couldn't put them in that day as I had simply told. She was also disrespectful on the phone as she argued with me and tried to impersonate a doctor by telling me things like my cornea would be damaged in hypothetical situations. During my contact appointment, Dr. Roh grew impatient with me when I struggled learning to put in contacts (as most people do). Dr. Roh was constantly berating me for the length of my (extremely SHORT) nails. I prefer my nails cut short, as they were during my contact fitting appointment, and I have natural nails (no fake nails). During my contact fitting appointment (see attached photo), they were (and still are) beautifully manicured and trimmed as short as possible. If I cut them any shorter, my nails would be bleeding. I truly believe Dr. Roh was jealous of how awesome my nails are, and repeatedly told me they were too long (?!). I couldn't believe it. After all this ridiculousness Wallingford Eye Care brought into my life, I have since stopped supporting their unprofessional clinic and moved on to receive better, quality healthcare elsewhere. I have found a wonderful eye clinic in Bothell that is absolutely fantastic, professional, caring, and perfect unlike Wallingford Eye Care. :)

Having a great time buying glasses!

Not a great selection of frames, the employees were not particularly friendly, and I was not impressed compared to other stores in the area.

Roh is the most patient, kind and thorough eye doctor I've encountered, and I've gone to eye doctors since I was tiny.

Her whole demeanor was off putting. When I told her I use monthly contacts, she looked at me weird and said "I mean, if you want to keep doing monthly's with the bacteria buildup by all means" like dang my bad I've only ever used monthly's. The staff was nice tho. Overall, I will not be coming back and I highly recommend you don't either!! There are much better eyes doctors in cap hill that will actually treat you professionally and make you feel welcomed.

(Also rejects nearly every insurance especially those most likely to be held by the disabled or elderly and their dependents) My ears are still ringing from the anti-disability dog whistles. (It's called income source discrimination and it's a real thing companies do to make disabled individuals feel unwelcome without obviously breaking anti-discrimination laws) They get so annoyed and dodgy about insurance questions that I get the impression they wouldn't accept any insurance at all if it would guarantee they'd keep the poors out. Brett likes to claim he doesn't accept some insurance because of "the evil luxoticca monopoly". However, he doesn't accept VSP attached to children's Medicaid plans, so that's a dishonest excuse used to bury/obscure the dog whistle. Furthermore, they can't take criticism AT ALL. A quick glance at the combative responses from the owner to negative reviews on google can confirm this to anyone paying attention (but there's not many negative reviews there because including mine he somehow masks/suppresses them) I suggest Vision Plus of Ballard that accepts VSP associated with both Medicare Advantage plans for the disabled and Medicaid for the dependents of the disabled.

Well, this is a first for me. Did I come on to Yelp just to share my incredible experience with…read morethis practice? Sure did. When I moved to Seattle, a friend recommended another large opthalmology practice. Scheduling required weeks of advance planning; in-person waits were long; while my doctor was lovely, the contact lens fitters constantly rotated into the practice and so there was feeling of never getting to know someone. It was... fine, I guess? When this same office moved to requiring separate days for the contact lens fitting and the annual check-up, it was the catalyst I needed to search for an alternative. Two friends happen to see Dr. Lo at Eye Clinics QA. I seamlessly transferred my records and easily made an appointment. The first time I visited the clinic, my exams went quickly and smoothly. Dr. Lo listened to my very nuanced concerns, had me try out a newly-tweaked prescription, and it made all the difference in the world. My second annual appointment with him this year was no different (only it was moved to the Ballard location, as this one is still being renovated!) I cannot recommend this office, this doctor, and this experience enough. My only regret is not finding them sooner. Thank you Dr. Lo and team!

Staff showed me relevant frame options (narrow, low bridge) and I tried on several pairs quickly. Walked out with a new pair, paid with FSA, within 15 minutes of walking in. Beyond impressed with visit 1. Uploaded my prescription online, which was reviewed and processed by Warby within a day. This location does not offer eye exams, but Bellevue Square and Lynnwood do. Frames arrived extremely quickly - shipped within 4 business days! Packaging & unboxing experience was excellent. Stopped in today to get frames adjusted, which took less than 5 minutes - excellent 2nd visit. This honestly blew away my expectations as a first-time Warby customer (was scared of the lines/waiting experience at the University Village location) - kudos to the Cap Hill team for crushing it!
