Convenient location and nice clean space. I love how quickly I was able to get an appointment the day before. My eye exam went by quickly and all my questions were answered. I love it that they accept Apple Health now! There is also a good selection of prescription glasses covered by Apple Health insurance plans, all for about $20-25. Just ask to see those and they'll bring them out to you. I do love me some designer glasses, but those are a great option for those who tend to break/lose their pair too often, or just don't want to spend too much on a pair. Aside from those affordable glasses, there is a huge selection of designer glasses, many are vey stylish. I got my Bebe glasses here a while ago and loved them. read more

I've been coming here for three years since I originally lived in the area. Now I just come back because I like my doc! I can't really remember much from the first time I came here but I've always remembered Samantha, their front desk assistant. She acts like every question is such an inconvenience and is so curt with everyone. It's not the kind of attitude that belongs at a front desk. This time around, she told me my eye insurance was "inactive" and I asked her what that meant and she just looked at me and said, "well, it means it's not active." I'm sorry, but of course that's what that means but what are you going to do to fix it? Their insurance lady then came out and helped me. It's been a year since I was here, how am I supposed to know things randomly deactivate? The insurance lady was helpful but gosh, Samantha is not helpful at all. They were a bit pushy on getting glasses even though I told them I didn't want any. They made sure to ask three times if I was sure I wanted to just use my benefits on contacts. I was sure. The reason I do keep coming back is because I like Dr. Kuar. She's just nice and efficient. She's the first eye doc that hasn't dilated me since my pupils are so large, which was nice. She also switched me to 2-week contact lenses which have worked for the past two years just because dailies are expensive. Further, when I was here a year ago, I thought I needed to up my prescription but she recommended not doing that and alls worked well since then. read more

Dr. Kaur is pretty amazing. She's really knowledgeable and seems like she genuinely cares about her patients. I found the EyeSite through the VSP website because that's my vision insurance provider and I picked the one closest to home. Parking can be tricky because it's right on Lake City Way but as long as you find a spot, it's free out front on the street. The clinic itself is really clean and welcoming. I definitely got lucky with this one! I'm going back in this week to try on some trial contact lenses before I settle with a bunch of new ones. Highly recommended. If you ask her questions in depth, she won't have any answers or go any further. Doctor was good but never had smile on her face. I got a missed phone call early this year from them asking me to have eye exam, so I called them back right away. But was told there were no availability until next month... I will not go back again. Dr. Kaur is a very good optometrist and all the staff at the EyeSite are very nice, skillful and helpful. I don't like my new glasses, but that is not their fault. They really had no frames that I liked in their collection, so I had my wife help me decide between three I could find. Now I hate the glasses, hate the way I look in them and I plan to have new lenses made for some older frames that I have. But again, that is not the fault of EyeSite. I cannot expect them to stock frames for me alone, especially if what I prefer is not in vogue. I would go there again in the future for an exam, but considering what I paid for glasses, in the future I will search online for something that I like. EyeSite was one of my rescue place, on a particular day I felt like I am loosing my eyes as I got so sensitive to light that I couldn't drive the car. I was diagnosed wrong by a local physician and had a second opinion with DR. Kaur, she was amazing , calm composted and felt I could just trust her. The place is good , staffs are friendly . That being said I felt they looked down upon me because I didn't want an anti glare on my glasses and they didn't like it when I asked why was I charged out of pocket for certain things. They like it or not they have to explain why am I charged so they did but with an unpleasant face. Except for judgmental by the staff the Dr is amazing. read more

Was a bit reluctant to get my eyes examined during the covid concerns but after my initial arrival for my exam all my concerns were cleared up. The entry door was locked and a simple call to the office allowed the staff to verify my appointment and let me in. All employees were wearing masks and practicing social distancing as well as cleaning and sanitizing areas. The staff, including Robin, Stephanie and Samantha was extremely friendly and professional and very helpful. Dr Kaur is a very helpful person who visited with me about some different options I should consider when choosing glasses. Just tried to call to get new glasses for my son. The woman who answered the phone was very rude and acted like we were scum because my son is currently on WA Apple Health. I was willing to pay out of pocket for two pairs of glasses if I had to, but didn't even get a chance to say that. My son has specific vision issues and sees a specialist. They will not accept prescriptions from other eye doctors. They need to train their staff on basic customer service and phone etiquette. I almost never post reviews, but in this case I would give zero stars if it was an option. read more

I got my first pair of glasses in the second grade and remained convinced that's why I was a nerd until I saved and saved and got contacts in junior high....right about the same time glasses got cool. So, I've had a great deal of experience with eye doctors and eye-care places. I can't say any have been terrible, but I can say I've never really been overwhelmed with a great experience. That was until last week. I went to the Eye Site on LCW for the first time. I got there a little early to look at frames, and I was really pleased at how clean and organized the place was and I found the staff to be super friendly. It's very small with one doctor and one person at the desk, but they were both wonderful. Dr. Sorena Kaur was quick, efficient, friendly, and helped my make sense of my vision insurance (something I always have a hard time doing). She and her staff were able to fit in some other people who were desperate to use their insurance by the end of the year, but it never detracted from my appointment or the time that the staff took with me. When it was time to choose some frames, the doctor and her staff member were really helpful, they helped me narrow it down to about 5 frames and then let me hang out and send images to my friends to take a poll via text message as to which ones to get (yes, i am kind of difficult like that). Also, since my eyes were quite dilated and it was very sunny out, they let me hang around for a little while until I thought I was okay to drive, even though it was New Year's Eve. Heck, when they got pizza for lunch, they offered to share! Overall, I felt more comfortable going here than anywhere else I've been. It is way more casual than most places, but still very professional. There is a nice selection of frames and the staff is friendly and informative. I've always hated going to the bigger chain stores, since I feel so rushed and just like a number. It was great to be treated like a whole person instead of just another set of eyeballs. I also like that it is an independent business (not part of a chain), local, and woman owned. I'm excited to pick up my glasses when they come in, and I may actually be kind of stoked for my next exam! :) read more

I had adequate service from this place in the past, but that is a bygone age. In order to pay for new lenses, I have to apply tor assistance through the Lions Club. This is something EyeSite has successfully handled in the past. I had to wait over a week for an appointment, so this place DOES NOT NEED YOUR BUSINESS. I received a voicemail on Friday afternoon telling me they had not received any paperwork from the Lions Club and the exam would require cash payment. I called back Saturday to inform them that I had the Lions Club paperwork FOR EYEGLASSES ONLY and it was asking for an estimate, which I could not get until I went to their shop. I informed the receptionist that the exam was covered by Medicare, which she confirmed. I concluded that call with, "See you Monday morning." Monday morning, I take two buses from my home to the EyeSite. When I get there, I find that they have cancelled my exam appointment, and the doctor is not even in the building. Why? Because they didn't get paperwork from the Lake City Lions Club. The receptionist proceeded to tell me that they do not do business with the Ballard Lions Club, the charity is neighborhood based, SO I WILL NEED TO FIND ANOTHER OPTOMETRIST TO SELL ME GLASSES. I insisted that was not how the system worked, it depends on where I live and not where I buy glasses, and even suggested she should call the Lions Club to clear up the confusion. She flatly refused, and re-stated that they don't do business with the Ballard Lions Club. You may think that this stems from some sort of error on the part of the weekend receptionist, perhaps failing to note our phone conversation on Saturday. This was proven not to be the case when the Monday receptionist called the absent doctor and READ THE NOTES OF MY SATURDAY PHONE CALL TO HER FROM THE COMPUTER. It was at this point I realized this was an exercise in harassment of the poor and disabled. They made me wait over a week, then waste an hour and bus fare (can't drive with broken glasses) to get there, then obstructively abused a disabled repeat customer. This is beyond unforgivable, it borders on the legally actionable. I can't wait to put this place on my list "AND GOOD RIDDANCE TO THEM." read more

I was one of Dr. Kaur's first patients when she opened years ago. I've never gone anywhere else since!! She's fantastic!!! I just had cataract surgery about a month and a half ago. I've been getting bad headaches ever since. My eyes have healed enough now, so I can get new glasses, today was my appointment. I explained my situation and asked if she could rush getting the glasses made, hoping to relieve the headaches. What she did instead blew my mind!!!! She loaned me one contact to remedy the headaches until my glasses arrived at no charge!!!! WAY above and beyond the call of duty!!! I simply lover her!!! I'm really on the fence about this place, and can't decide if I appreciate the service or don't appreciate the extra efforts to charge me and my insurance more. I hadn't seen an eye doctor in years and realized a change in prescription might be causing my recent headaches. Turns out - that was the problem! I was able to call and quickly get seen on the same day for an eyeglass prescription. They were looking at new frames that day from vendors so I had the chance to see a large number of options. However, the prices on their glasses are not cheap, even with insurance included. Glassusa has been my cost effective solution to super expensive glasses since I like trying different frames and break them too often! A few months later I wanted to go back to get fitted for contacts. Apparently their prescription is only good for 3 months, because to get contacts after that point you have to do a completely new exam! This is absolutely bizarro, at my age my eyesight is not changing that quickly (it's been 5 years since I had any change in a prescription). Sadly I won't be back, I'm getting ready to move and I'd rather find another provider if I have to get a completely new exam. Be prepared to pay up from the start if you want flexible options. read more

The EyeSite is the only place I've gotten glasses for 6 or 8 years now. The staff is helpful (especially for someone who doesn't have much confidence in his own esthetic judgment about frames). The star of the show, though, is Dr. Kaur. She is attentive to your immediate needs, but also is thoughtful about what services you may need over time, and looking after your vision for the long term. True Customer Obsession. I've been wearing contacts for over 10 years. I have a job where I am at a computer crunching numbers 10-12 hours a day and have just written off wearing contacts to work. Dr Kaur wouldn't accept that. She must have given me over 10 different samples of contacts, and even samples of different solutions to wear, suggesting specific solutions for specifics contacts, etc. She was adamant that there was something out there for me, and was also price conscious with her feedback and selections. Her staff is also super friendly and I have never once been stuck killing time in the waiting room because they let their schedule get out of control, and I've been there over 5 times. I've been struggling with them to resolve an insurance issue. They tell me they have filed my claim however when I speak with my insurance carrier they insist nothing has been filed. My insurance offered to speak with them and get it resolved but The EyeSite refuses to call them directly and refuses to give me the claim paperwork so that I can do it myeslf. read more

I can't say enough good things about Dr Kaur. She is extremely professional, approachable, knowledgeable and was always very attentive to my comfort. I have a complicated health history and she made sure that she had a thorough understanding of that. She discussed the pros and cons of various options and made sure that I had a clear understanding of each because there is not one simple solution to my eye care needs. She explained her recommendation, and the reasons why. Her front staff is friendly but terribly confused. Repeatedly they mistook my Medicare for Medicaid. At one point they told me she isn't covered by Medicare, she is. I told them she was listed as a preferred provider on Community Health Medicare Advantage website. I was told they would have to get back to me. It took two calls from me and a week for them to verify. Once verified I got an appointment in 3 days and was warmly greeted. After seeing Dr Kaur, I was told I would have a $30 co-pay for glasses I said no, I have a $100 credit, she looked at her paperwork with large $100 hardware written out and said oh eyes you are right and proceeded to show me glasses. After about 30 minutes, I finished my selection and she asked for my Medicaid # I had to remind her once again that I am on Medicare not Medicaid then she told me all the glasses she had shown me were for Medicaid patients ONLY! If I could deal with Dr Kaur only, I would recommend her to everyone without reservation. She needs to fire her current front end staff immediately and hire someone that can efficiently and correctly assist her patients with insurance! I used to be a case manager helping people with insurance so I can be my own advocate, I will wait to deal with a talented and patient medical professional willing to listen to me and untangle a complicated chronic medical history but no one should have to wait a week for insurance confirmation or waste their time because front desk gets Medicaid and Medicare mixed up. The Eye Site is a small vision care service. I went there mainly because it is covered by my insurance. Dr. Kaur is great; she is very friendly and really cares about her patients. She was very careful and thorough during my eye exam. After it was done, I explained her that I wanted prescription sun glasses on September because I'll be going overseas. She was kind enough to go to the back office and get all the sunglasses that were not in display because of the season. I was also impressed with the eye glass selection that they have. The fact that the place is small doesn't mean that you won't find your favorite frames. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Wonderful! This year is the second time I have joined in on a visit with my 90-something year old neighbor at The Eye Site. The staff, the office, and the selection of eyewear is great (did I mention I go here myself) and beyond compare. Special acknowledgement goes to Doctor Sorena Kaur for her compassion, kindness and thoroughness. Doctor Kaur spent well over the time for a typical patient so that my hard of hearing nervous neighbor not only had a most complete exam but every step of the exam she explained what was being done, why and the results...AND with upmost respect and dignity. At the end of exam, Doctor Kaur did not try to sell her a pair of glasses that would not improve her vision. I gave special accolades to this establishment. Hurray!
