This place has really gone downhill. I went in January of this year to get a contact lens exam and order them through my insurance. There were no problems, and as I was leaving the front office even handed me a copy of the rebate I was entitled to for ordering a year's worth of contacts. Fast forward to July, when I decided to get a pair of glasses before my plan ended. I went in, and ordered a pair of glasses. I told the salesperson that I wanted to buy a certain brand to qualify for a discount and rebate, and he responded that he knew what I was talking about. Glasses were ordered, came pretty fast. So I return to retrieve them and I bring the rebate form with me. The salesperson Tali then tells me that I am not eligible for the rebate because they sold me the lens through Zeiss laboratory (their more expensive laboratory). How the hell I was supposed to know that they source from two separate laboratories, and that one lab is covered better by my insurance, beats me. He refuses to ask anyone to sign it. Miffed, I then called the office days later, and spoke to a woman named Tammy. She confidently said that she knew about the rebate and would help me to get it signed. So I went back in with renewed hope. Upon walking into the office, she sat me down and promptly told me exactly what Tali had said. They were not going to be held liable and be audited to sign a rebate form for the wrong product. They even told me that it was somehow my responsibility to bring the rebate form in upon purchasing and educate them on it. At this point, this is no longer about the $100 rebate, which is sizable. At this point, it's about me handing over several hundred dollars to a place that clearly doesn't give a rat's ass about its patients or customer service. All they had to do was educate themselves on the rebate, so that they could sell the right product for the customer's needs. I ended up returning the pair so I could purchase it from Eyeconic, where it would be half the price (even without the rebate). Oh but it gets worse! They refused to withdraw their claim to the insurance company so I cannot order another pair of glasses. Yep, they decided to use my insurance coverage to pad and pay for their mistakes. DO NOT GO HERE. Believe me, I have had an excellent optometrist before. Good offices will have a support staff that knows these promotions backward and forward. This is a huge tool for millions of people, and it is not cheap! Nobody here will ever have make your needs a priority. I have never had the experience of dealing with people who have no earthly idea of what good customer service is, when their glasses can cost $800 out of pocket. When you really think about how important and how costly their products are, really ask yourself if you want to be giving your money to a place that is rude, dismissive, and will charge you double what some other places charge for the same item. read more

I definitely recommend Your Eyes LLC. It is a wonderful optometry small practice that is conveniently located in Downtown Seattle. It was really easy to make an appointment over the phone. Dr. Feiten is very pleasant and extremely professional. She did a thorough eye exam on me and it included some cool new machines and techniques that I've never seen before. Dr. Feiten also did a great job of explaining things to me, including educating me about different parts of the eye and about various eye diseases. The front desk staff is also excellent. They made sure to check my insurance benefits before I arrived, which my last place failed to do. They also sent me text messages to remind me of my appointment, which was really helpful. My favorite part is that they are very upfront about any costs or fees. They told me exactly what my insurance would cover and what would be my responsibility. I'm really happy that they didn't charge me a "contact lens fitting fee," which is something my last doctor insisted was normal. I ordered my contact lenses from them. They didn't have my prescription in stock, but they shipped them directly to my house, which was super convenient. I rarely wear glasses, but they had a lot of frames to choose from in the front of the store. read more

I have been to this place 3 times so far to get an eye exam. Great service every time, and I found the doctor was very patient and thorough. No hard sell whatsoever to buy glasses at the same place. Got my annual checkup at Your Eyes a couple weeks ago. They've really gone overboard when it comes to taking precautions for covid-19. I was able to get an appointment a few weeks out and was prompted to fill out a whole bunch of information before I went in to reduce the time I spent in there. I found this pretty impressive and unlike any of the optometrists I've been to before. I arrived to a locked door only to be greeted by someone outside who took my temperature and asked me to hold on while there were only 2 other customers inside the store -- this took about 3 minutes. After confirming some insurance info, I was ushered into the testing rooms. The doctor was really really nice!! All in all, everything was done in about 45 mins. I went in about a week later to order a set of prescription glasses - they have decent collection of good frames. James taught me everything there was to know about the various kinds of lenses. The only negative is the lack of available parking, but that's generally true in all of Downtown Seattle. Otherwise, great experience, definitely coming back next year. read more

This is the place you want to go. Easy to set an appointment online. I show up, the place is clean, quiet, and the staff is helpful. Everything went smoothly and they were very up front about what they were going to have me do as well as potential charges and options which is huge for me as it is not always common. Dr. Feiten was clear and helpful but didn't waste any time. I let them know I wasn't here to order contacts or glasses and just wanted the exam and received 0 pushback. I know I'm beating a dead horse and some of this seems like basic courtesy, but I have been in a lot of practices where they push extra stuff with sales tactics. None of that here. At the end the doctor walked me through my prescription, an informative walkthrough of my eye images, and my current insurance status. Anyway, the actual checkup was top quality and I got my prescription and was on my way. Great place. read more

It had been so long since my last eye exam that I could barely remember it so, with my wife's encouragement, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Feiten. One of the big reasons my wife liked Dr. Feiten's service was the up-to-date equipment. No longer is it necessary to dilate one's pupils for a certain test (costs $29 but saves the annoyance of going around with dilated pupils for the rest of the day), and no longer is the doctor literally "in your face" as they determine what correction you need. I'm not one who takes the approach of, "The doctor said to do (whatever);" I want to know why, what my options are, and ultimately manage my own care. Dr. Feiten gave me the information I need to make informed choices. Plus, she and her staff are all very personable and have all the insurance companies dialed in so you know your out-of-pocket. Bottom line: I won't wait so long next time and will see them again when my next exam is due in two years. read more

After finally admitting to myself that my blurry vision and difficulty reading signs at night probably wasn't a phase, I looked at my list of in-network providers and found Your Eyes, which is just a few blocks from my office. Making an appointment was easy, I filled out the online request form and someone called me the same day and an appointment was made for the week after. This was my first ever vision exam, so I had no idea what to expect. I walked in and gave my insurance card to the receptionist, who then passed me onto an optometrist tech or nurse (not sure what the proper term is!) who did a bunch of vision tests using machines. The offices were clean and well maintained, and everyone was very friendly. When Dr. Feiten came into the exam room, she explained my exam results (I had astigmatism) and gave me a run down of what everything meant. She then messed with the crazy lens tester contraption and figured out my prescription, and that was that!! An overall very easy experience. Now came the hard part - picking out glasses. This is probably the only meh experience I had here, and it wasn't really their fault. Being my first experience with picking out glasses, I didn't know much about frame pricing and wish I had done my research beforehand. They have a wide variety of nice designer frames here, all of which are quite expensive (I believe the range for frames only was about $145 minimum, with most frames being $250-$500). I only wear my glasses as needed, so I didn't need a really nice pair. I did order a pair of Ray Bans with Your Eyes, but in hindsight would have probably gone to Warby Parker or ordered online. Anyway, Dr. Feiten's staff were very helpful in helping me order my glasses. They even sent me a text the following week when my glasses were ready for pick up, and stayed open a few minutes late to accommodate me picking them up after work. Overall I had a great experience and now I'm part of the "I can see club" - yay!! read more

Excellent! I came here after a terrible experience at another clinic and feel so refreshed. From the friendly greeting to the supportive care (I am unbelievably squeamish about eye things), I was well taken care of. I got exactly the appointment I asked for, instead of needing to go in once for my vision check and again for contact fitting. I got the encouragement I needed to learn how to apply and remove contacts, too, even while I was uncomfortable and nervous about it. There was no pretentiousness or attitude about anything, which I experienced at the last clinic, and I'm thrilled with Your Eyes. I look forward to returning for my contact recheck in a few weeks and hopefully ordering a new pair of glasses while I'm at it. 10/10! read more

I've been going to see Dr. Feintin at Your Eyes for over 10 years now and I will never go anywhere else. I have very bad vision (-9.5/-10) and she has me seeing better than 20/20. She also found the best contact lenses for me, the most comfortable ones I've ever had. Plus, the experience is very fast but also thorough. She updates her tools regularly as well. I can't speak to the frame selection or pricing since I so rarely buy glasses, but I've been very happy with Your Eyes and would recommend them to anyone. read more

The staff has been amazing in every visit I've made to Your Eyes. Even on visits when I broke my glasses, and when I came in to bring a friend they've made every effort to ensure we have been satisfied and understand everything we've discussed and decided upon. Some of the selection here you won't find other places, I'm just starting to see the RayBan sunglasses I bought 13 months ago on the faces of passers by. The doctor here is very detailed, has a great "bedside" manner, uses newer technologies/equipment and genuinely has your best interests at heart. I can't say I got anywhere else on the regular that makes me feel as great. After the countless eye doctors I've visited over the years, many of which seems more like a store and just want to push you out, this places feels like family. Thank You! read more

I'm not normally the sort to leave a 1-star review as a form of protest... I honestly think this is the most accurate rating I can give. Two stars is a poor rating, but doesn't fully describe my experience. The short version is this - my next two optometrists concur that Your Eyes messed up my prescription significantly (more on that below) and Your Eyes did not stand behind their work when it failed pathetically. First, while eyes change over time they very seldom change back afterward. For that reason, it's clear the OS Sph measurement they made was wrong by 3x. Perhaps it was a typo, perhaps it was messy handwriting, but my 2008, 2010, 2014, and 2015 prescriptions have it as -0.75. My 2012 Your Eyes prescription (right in the middle) is -0.25. Whoops. Then, after about two weeks of having these glasses one of the lenses fell out and was lost in a crowd. Fell out while I was wearing them and standing there. I've had literally a dozen pair of glasses from the same frame company, so I know this isn't a common issue. Your Eyes claims it was due to faulty frames so would not help me. The frame company claimed "bullsh*t" because Your Eyes are the ones who didn't properly close the frames up after installing Your Eyes' own lenses. After talking to other eyewear shops, this one is definitely a Your Eyes bad. Their only solution? Buy a whole new pair, lenses, frames and all. They didn't even offer to charge me for one lens. I regret giving this place my money. Actual conversation with Dr. Feiten on my first visit two weeks ago: She wanted to know what I did for a living, so I told her. Dr: Oh, you build low income housing? Where? Me: All over the region, really. I have a project in Olympia. Dr: Good! Put those people there. I don't want them living in MY neighborhood. Here's a tip: I don't care how you feel about affordable housing - don't insult your customers' vocation. And don't tell your customers how to do their jobs. I went there the other day for a complete eye exam and was very happy with the service. Dr. Feiten is great - her exam was very comprehensive and thorough. She asked about my family eye history, health history, etc - much more thorough than the typical optometry exam. She checked everything and explained all of my eye issues to me in a manner that I could understand. She was very friendly and patient with all my random questions =) The staff was extremely helpful. Super friendly when I walked in, and they helped me adjust 2 pairs of glasses that I had that I didn't even purchase there. What a difference the adjustments made in terms of the comfort of my glasses! They took care of all my insurance billing, gave me some sample eye drops, and I was all set. Would definitely go back! A little disappointed in the service I received here. So much so, I went elsewhere with nary a "goodbye, thanks for coming." I arrive in about an hour to closing. I give them my medical insurance card and ID, they proceed to call into VSP to verify my coverage. They are friendly up to this point. However I'm browsing all of their selection and I'm less than thrilled thus far. The guy at the desk does get in touch with VSP, and tells me that I have X amount covered on frames, and that lenses are not covered. The lens would cost about $130 or so. Interesting to say the least, but since I didn't find any frames I was sold on, and never really got any help while browsing, I just left. Never did anyone ask me if I needed help, or say anything as I was leaving. Oh well. Turns out lens were fully covered, and the frame amount was off by $10 more than what they told me. Good thing I went to shop around. Net of the story, verify your coverage on your own, or from a couple of sources. Shop for your eyewear at different places, as there are HUGE brand/design differences at each shop. And above all, be treated like the business wants to earn your business. Disclaimer: I'm not suggesting a shady operation at all. It was most likely a misunderstanding from my insurance provider to "Your Eyes LLC," in regards to coverage. Wanna know a funny story before I begin my review? Great. I needed some glasses because I'm a 26 year old without a drivers license and in order to operate a motor vehicle, I need to have them at all times. So I thought. So I show up to the DMV and get my permit and they check my vision. "There you go. You don't need them after all." *jaw drops* I felt part of my face go numb.. or maybe it was just me having a panic attack. But here's the actual review- This place is amazing. The staff was so friendly, so calm and knew what they were doing that I enjoyed going to get some glasses. The tests were easy and they explain to you what they're doing versus... "Yo keep your eyes open so we can see em." No. They don't speak that here. They speak, "Let's get you the glasses you need so you leave happy! My face is round and wide, plus my nose is funny and they don't fit alot of other glasses, but Tai knew how to work around those issues. Plus Dr. Fieten helped too! Overall, although I didnt end up needing them, I'm at least glad I got such amazing service. Lenny, Tai and Dr. Feiten, you guys are so fantastic. Dr. Feiten is awesome, her exam is extremely comprehensive and thorough. The staff at Your Eyes are really friendly and fun to chat with when I have been in. I have been a patient for two years years now and have plans to keep on visiting as my VSP allows. They are conveniently located downtown and keep easy hours with an extended evening (6p). Parking is street, but hey - I don't drive, so whatevs. This year I decided to add contacts into the mix, and Dr. Feiten has been wonderful - helping me figure out what works best for my eyes. She is full of hot tips on how to get them in and out with out gouging myself blind. She has let me try out 3 different brands, without batting an eye.... Nice! I like this place. read more

Everyone in this office is super cordial and amazing! Convenient location, my appointment started right on time. The staff's very knowledgeable, especially James when it comes to buying a new frame. I bought contacts from them last year and they beat the online price! I go in every once in a while to get my frame adjusted and they happily take care of it. The doctor puts you at ease immediately. I had seen Dr. Feiten for a medical check on my eyes and really appreciated how thorough she was in explaining things to me. During my recent eye exam she was so thorough and answered all of my questions; on some, she even went above and beyond to help me figure out how to extend the life of my contacts and figure out where some of the discomfort with my eyes was coming from. My husband and I have been to 3 different optometrists in the 4 years we've been in Seattle (one of them was in Vancouver, BC). I've never walked away with the feeling that my exam was 100% adequate. I also rely on the staff to help me select the right frames for my face, rather than the right price for the staff ;-) Dr. Feiten was wonderful to work with, my exam was vastly different than my other exams (I suspect new equipment) and I felt extremely confidant when I walked out to select my frames. James helped me with my selection. What I LOVED about James is that he knew his product very well (imagine that!), selected frames that looked good and fit well. James showed me the advantages of each style I tried on. James took his time and didn't push - I could go on and on about how helpful he was. I had my appointment on Wednesday, my husband had an appointment that Friday and had the exact same wonderful experience. Since I worked with James, my husband did as well. We have beautiful frames with all the features we love on our lenses! The insurance process was a breeze (they had everything ready in advance). Dr. Feiten is the best optometrist I have ever been to. Seriously, she's an all-star! I have been going to optometrists my entire life, and have not found one as personable, knowledgable, and efficient as Dr. Feiten. Her office is neat, orderly, and very clean. Her staff is friendly and competent. I was especially impressed by how flexible they were. On my first appointment I arrived 10 minutes early and didn't even have to wait! They took down my information verbally, scanned my insurance card, and whisked me off to the exam room. No sitting in a stuffy waiting room with a golf pencil and clipboard filling out paperwork! I was quite pleased. The exam with Dr. Feiten was exactly what you would expect, save one thing. During the exam she found something unexpected: apparently I have a benign eye condition that no other optometrist had ever caught before. She explained the condition to me, answered all my questions, and left me feeling very good about the whole thing. I originally went to Your Eyes because they were close to my place downtown. Dr. Feiten did the most thorough exam I have ever had and this is over 25 years of glasses and contacts. She also recommended to me to NW Eye Surgeons for corneal crosslinking, which I have now had completed two months ago. Now to why the 5 stars... With my prescription in hand, I unfortunately had to head over to a Bellevue eye clinic Bella Vision, because they carry Oakley sunglasses which I wanted for work. After having the Oakley's completed, I noticed something felt off with the glasses. I brought them back into Bella Vision and they stated the glasses were fine, however when I brought them in to Dr. Feiten's office, they found my pupil centering was WAY OFF which was causing problems. With markings on the lenses from Dr. Feiten's office, I brought them back to Bella Vision and had the lenses replaced after they agreed the centering was WAY OFF. Odd how at first the lenses were fine and then when a professional calls them out they change their mind. I will not go anywhere else as long as Your Eyes is open. I woke up one morning with a very painful, teary, sensitive eye. My normal eye doctor didn't open until 11am, so I desperately searched for another one to help. I found Your Eyes after a quick Google search. They were able to book a same day appointment, and even called to let me know when an earlier booking fell through so I could come earlier. Patricia saw me and was quickly able to diagnose the problem. (Lesson learned don't sleep in your contacts while camping, even if they're approved for overnight wear). She prescribed eye drops and asked me to come in two days later *before the shop even opened* to make sure my eye was healing well. My eye recovered within a week. There is a possibility my vision could have been affected long term if Patricia hadn't been so accommodating. I am forever grateful!! read more

I've never experienced that with any doctor I've ever been to, and I really appreciated that. It took a while to get my glasses, but I realize that it wasn't their fault, it was complications with the lab they sent the prescription to. James was very genuine and he explained what happened. Even though my glasses had to be sent back, do to those complications. I still get to use my warranty if something happens to them. I'm very happy about that.
