Paris Baguette has been ingrained as a pricey place to shop for bread for me, so I don't come here too often. But whenever I'm here the experience is pretty good. The staff here are always friendly and helpful, so much that I wanted to write it down today. I went in looking for the croissant loaf, but couldn't find any so I asked if they will be available any time soon. The guy at the checkout told me that the bread delivery was delayed yesterday and they likely won't have it ready today because of that. The conversation could have ended there, but he went out of his way to go in the back and double check to see if the loaf is not available today. Even though the loaf ended up not being available today, the guy told me that it will be here the next day. It's kind of sad that my bar is set at a pretty low point because of carefree services I've encountered elsewhere in the past but such experiences made me appreciate nice people even more. I'm grateful that Paris Baguette is successful at maintaining its service quality. Now, the products - generally I enjoy the bread products over cakes. I had the strawberry croissant (croissant with strawberry slices and custard inside) today and that was pretty good. Cake is just ok and you can find other places with better cakes. I love this franchise and have always been happy with my experiences at this location. Everything is always packaged nicely and the place is always clean. I like the cafeteria style service they have. At first glance It's mostly pastries/desserts but they actual have a lot of lunch options. There's an array of sandwiches and salads. Even some savory pastries. They have a $10 lunch special where you can get any sandwich, a bag of chips, and a drink. I've gotten the caprese sandwich and their pesto sauce is amazing! Their pastries are pretty good. Some have this sweet glaze on top that I'm not a fan of, even the mini garlic croissants which I thought was weird. I love their almond or chocolate croissants because of the flakiness! As for their cakes, they are beautiful to look at for sure. I'm not sure if it's just this location but it's always super buttery (the actual sponge cake and the frosting). The size is also very small and can't feed many people but they're all around $45. I live down the block and decided to walk in to try their pumpkin spice iced latte. I have to be honest, I'm disappointed. I don't think it's worth the $5.95, though if you're going to treat yourself, go for it. My only negative experience was that I was overlooked while waiting in line. The cashier had opened up a second register and asked who's next, but as I moved towards her another woman asked if she spoke Spanish and pulled her aside to retrieve a cake and pay before me. My Spanish is horrible, so I just politely waited until they finished the transaction, but I didn't feel great being skipped in line to wait for a person who was also buying more than I was. I used to come here all the time. Last week, a male customer started arguing with the management. I think he had been told to leave the establishment. The customer then started verbally attacking me out of nowhere: look at the Chinese woman (I'm not Chinese) and she plans on being being here all day - why don't you kick her out? Then management asked me to leave even though there had been plenty of other non-Asian customers who had been there for longer than 30 minutes. That customer was racist and so is the management. So first and foremost I don't like writing negative reviews, but this kind of bothered me. I usually come here to study, Bc it's spacious, has great coffee with good milk options and it's 24H. I usually spend most of my day here since im studying for my boards exam. And tend to usually get 2 coffees here. I was patient when I received the wrong order, vanilla hot instead of iced. But then when I returned, the barista didn't complete my order. I believe one of the managers came and asked if I would l would like to order something and I had explained to him I received the wrong order and the barista did not complete the iced coffee. The barista then came back and said that she will work on it. What bothered me is that he did not believe me. I told him that I ordered a croquet with it. And he said I should have returned the hot coffee. I explained to him that I would not take something I did not pay for and just want an iced vanilla coffee I paid for. He kept looking for the order and said it was not there. I was a little offended, only because he made it seemed I was making it up. The barista clearly did remember her mistake made the coffee and apologized. So I will give it 2 stars for coffee but no more than that bc customer service on the managers end was poor, and he didn't apologize. Next time, I'll dig in the recycle for my receipt for the coffee I paid for 20 minutes ago, instead. Sorry for throwing my receipt away. read more

I won't lie and say that I wasn't excited to learn París Baguette was setting up shop by Astoria Ditmars stop. One that is open 24/7. That made my heart flutter a bit. For that, they get a star, bumping from 3 to 4. I have stopped by during different time of the day, including wee hours of the morning (don't ask...). The place is usually kept quite clean and the staff are always pleasant with a smile around the clock; the variety on the selection of pastries does diminishes past dinner time. Paris Baguette's baked goods tend to have a hint of sweetness on all of them. Which is quite typical of Eastern Asian brand bakeries. Not over the top, but there is a brush of sugar glazed on their croissant, there is sugar sprinkled on anything croissant-donut, croissant-muffin, the bread for the pigs in the blanket definitely has sugar in it. Personally, I find their pastries and regular coffee are a step above Dunking Donuts, certain things such as cakes, fruit tarts and tiramisu I prefer theirs over Martha's. read more

On Sunday, I attempted to place a breakfast order with this merchant through a third party for food to be delivered. First, I received a call telling me the pastry I wanted was no longer available. I thought okay, as I accepted an alternative selection. Then, I called after realizing a considerable amount of time passed and they still hadn't delivered my food. When speaking to the cashier, I was told that the food order had been voided. No explanation as to why they had voided my order could be provided. I assumed they made a mistake, because nothing was noted on the part of the third party delivery service I used to place the order. Upon speaking to the manager Ollie, as was said to be his name, I asked to please cancel my order so the receipt would reflect a cancellation to the order. He was nonchalant and careless in handling the matter and since has not done so. If there was a problem with fulfilling my order, greater communicational efforts should have prevailed. Since we spoke, no notice of refund has occurred. The fact that they hadn't called to notify me of a problem with the order nor did they take responsibility by rectifying matters appropriately by issuing a proper refund, I am inclined never to buy from them again. It was a first and a last for me. I'll confidently dispute charges on my card, but it was an added task not needed in my already busy day. My only apology is stooping to their level of negligence when offering four letter words to describe my thoughts on such crookery. LOL read more

I tried some of the breads and unfortunately they looked better than they tasted. It didn't seem like the bread was very fresh. I got an americano and a couple other drinks for my friends and the drinks were very good. I opted for the drinks here instead of the Starbucks down the street the next morning. I love the atmosphere and think it's a very good casual spot to hang out. When we visited at 2AM the guy behind the counter was super sweet despite the late hour. Just left from there not a happy customer. Full disclosure I am in the service industry so I understand the rights and wrongs of a customer vs server. I went in to grab a pastry and coffee. Me being the chubby I am I took a nibble of my peanut butter bread thing. It tasted horrific. It was for sure a couple days old, dry, and just nasty. I went to the counter and told the cashier if I could grab something else because it was disgusting. She asked me if I bit it, I said yes (I mean how would I have know how it tasted otherwise) she angry said yes. I come back with something else and she informed me I had to pay for it. Even thou it's already thrown away. Whatever screw it I pay for it and get a coffee. I asked for it back cause I'll just give it to a homeless man and she already threw it away. My problem is this: I was told I could switch it out for something else. Which was a lie I paid for something that was already thrown away. The cashier was rude and needs customer service lessons. (I can teach her that) When I complained that why did I pay for something that's in the garbage, the manger just kept saying ok. I know what I was complaining about it accurate and justified.
