    Strawberry shortcake

Beautiful cakes but it was harder to eat the cake because of the shape of the strawberry! Matcha latte was too sweet for my liking. Would love to try some of their other pastries and breads.

I've heard of this place from my friends in NY. Came to try some of their unique pastry items. Pineapple brulee - is unique but nothing special. Just pineapple pieces on custard. Wasnt very brulee at all. The dough was flaky Strawberry cream peanut crumb bread - i expect it to be crunchy but it wasnt. Not a lot of cream or strawberry for the price point. Although I really want to try their cakes, I wasn't very impressed with the pastries.

Butter pecan mochi donut & Sweet potato pastry

I was super excited to try this popular Korean chain bakery out and decided to visit after dinner one night nearby! We arrived at 9pm on a weekend night so it was late (they close at 10pm). There wasn't that much variety or choices left but that is expected. I happily got my tray and tong, and selected 2 pastries. I chose the Butter Pecan Mochi Donut ($5.59) and Sweet Potato Pastry ($4.99). The Sweet Potato Pastry was quite nice as it had a slightly sweet, sweet potato puree, wrapped in a twisted Danish. It was balanced well and had a good flavour. The Mochi Donut had an obvious butter pecan flavour and it had a nice chew, but it didn't stand out. I do wish they had an option to somehow re-heat or re-crisp up the pastries, especially the puff pastry/danishes, as I think it would've been way better. Again, I went at the end of the day so I understand, but it does feel like the pastry has been sitting there all day. I do also feel that the prices are a bit steep for what they are, so unsure if I'd return. And also if I do return, next time I'd likely bring it home so I could stick it in my air fryer!

Paris Baguette has a loyalty program where you'll get a free pastry for signing up and a cake slice on your birthday. I visited l the Alberni location a few months ago and tried their mocha cake slice. Honestly, It was overly sweet and didn't seem all that fresh. But for this blueberry yogurt cake slice, it was a delightful surprise! The texture was moist and soft, and the fruits gave it a light and refreshing flavour. It's a great choice for those who enjoys fruity desserts without the heaviness.

It is more 3.5 stars as it is hit and miss on some items. I like the drinks more than the baked goods. The matcha latte and iced Nutella latte are yummy. The regular coffee is ok. They don't do a flat white. I guess they can only make drinks from the machine. The mochi donut is good. Regular not so much. The cake is average. Looks pretty. The croissant is also good. I've been to Paris Baguette in Asia and the US. I think the food quality is way in Asia than this part of the world. The place can be very busy and as it is not that big, most people buy take out. There are also sandwiches which are great for those working in the area for lunch. We came once in the evening and the offering was pathetic. Nothing much left. Come here early in the morning for the fresh food and seats.

I grabbed their red velvet cake to go. It was super moist and the cream cheese icing was soo good. It was the perfect cake to icing ratio.

I gave the Vancouver spot four stars when it should have been FIVE! Paris Baguette absolutely rocks! I tried it for the first time downtown on Alberni St & I gotta say - bravo! This location in Coquitlam can be a major traffic nightmare during certain periods especially the rush hour. If you can, take the Millinium Line or Expo Line trains (depending on where you're coming in from) to Lougheed Town Centre, then walk (15mins or less) to PG or take uber or a cab from here. It'll save you the headache of getting trapped by other cars. Excellent pastries, sweet hot chocolate, great drip coffee, supreme donut croissant ... I could go on. Beautiful interior & well laid out presentation of all on offer. Be warned - you will be severely tempted to buy all of it! Get here ASAP! Open late.

Paris Baguette is one of the most anticipated bakeries to open in 2024. On the opening day, I was lucky enough to enter the shop without having to wait in line for too long, as I strategically avoided the busy hours. I was so excited to explore the wide variety of baked goods, including croissants, donuts, cakes, and other savory and sweet breads. The interior was cozy and well-organized, with separate sections for breads and cakes, along with a comfortable eat-in area. Since it was the opening day, many items were already sold out. However, I managed to get the following: mini cream cheese pastry - Mini pastries with cream cheese filling were good, though the dough could have been a bit flakier for my preference. Castella - This item was great! The texture and flavor were almost identical to what I had in Japan--an excellent choice Strawberry croissant - The croissant had a flaky dough, and the cream was light and delicious. This item was great too! Snowman donuts - This item was solid, and it was nice to pick the cute snowman for Christmas. It was just okay Broccoli cheddar quiche - It was just okay. If you're looking for a savory item, this will be a good choice. tiramisu tart - This one was delicious. I really liked the creamy filling. strawberry mochi donuts - It was just okay. The dough was nicely chewy. Overall, even though there were some hits and misses, I would like to visit this bakery again to try different items, especially the cakes.

3.5 stars I stopped by to try a few things -- It was super busy since they opened only recently and it made the experience a bit challenging due to a long lineup to checkout and limited space to grab pastries. It didn't feel like there was a huge assortment of savoury pastries which is what I was craving so I grabbed two sweet ones to try. I would definitely have the Very Berry Pastry again as the fruit was just the right level of sweetness and paired well with the tartness of the lemon-custard, puff pastry nicely done as well. Unfortunately, the strawberry mochi donut was probably greasier than other ones I've had and wouldn't be an item I recommend. The medium hot chocolate was pretty big and was decent, not overly sugary but still a bit sweet. Overall, would need to try some more pastries at some point to see if my opinion changes but I haven't been blown away so far.

Finally it is here. Such a long wait. What is the verdict? The quality is pretty good, especially the mochi donut and croissant donut, and the coffee danish. The flavour of the bread is on point. The croissant can be a bit more moist inside however it was still flavoursome and not overly rich. But we do miss the Korea flair of the items that we had tasted back in Seoul.

We tried the almond pastry and Dubai chocolate mocha doughnut. Both were very tasty. I also tried the feature pistachio latte.

I was first introduced to Paris Baguette when I visited South Korea. It is great that this bakery has made its way to Coquitlam. They have a large selection of pastries, cakes and baked goods in addition to a drink menu. If you are purchasing pastries or baked goods, there are liner sheets next to the trays to use for hygiene purposes. I saw a number of customers purchase baked goods without using the liner and I do not think the trays are washed often. This is more of a FYI. Service was efficient. There is some seating available for dine in. Overall, a nice addition to the area.

The matcha latte here (~$5.50) also was better (less milky and had a stronger matcha flavour) than some other cafes in the area. Overall, a pretty solid cafe in the Coquitlam area though you might need to check ahead for pastry availability.

I also liked Mochi mochi bread which had very chewy texture like mochi, but this time, I felt the one I had in the past tasted better. However, Rich bread was very good. The dough is similar to brioche with very rich, buttery flavor. This one is definitely better than before. Overall, I really liked their products. The staff wasn't helpful at all. "They're all good." She also said the bread is Korean style bread that is popular in Korea. Then I asked why use the Japanese word for salt, i.e. "shio". She then responded that the bread is Japanese style. Like, which is it? Korean or Japanese? After consulting Gemini AI, the two styles are fundamentally the same but the texture is different. Regardless of Japanese or Korean style, I got the original and black (squid ink). I honestly don't see what the hype is. It's essentially just butter roll with salt sprinkled on top. Lol.

One suggestion I told the serving clerk to perhaps put a sign to separate freshly baked ( such) cookies from days old products. I went there on a Tuesday morning around 10 am and I bought a pack of shortbread cookies. I took it to the car and my husband tried one right away and found the supposedly crisp cookies were quite soft. He said these were not freshly baked. So I went right back to the bakery and told them what my husband said. The manager agreed to give me back the refund and the serving clerk told me the fresh cookies will be ready in late afternoon and the one I bought was baked over the weekend. I believe it is important for the bakery to separate the daily baked fresh products from the rest.

The amount of filling that was inside amazed me. However, it would have been more enjoyable if it was more spread out, instead of a "log" of filling. Also, after warming up the pastry, the bottom was extremely oily. So oily that it was literally dripping. The meringue on the Lemon Meringue Bar was a bit deflated and dry. The lemon flavor wasn't overly powerful. The Mango Bar, mango flavor was very mild. I would have liked to taste something a bit more prominent. Also, I didnt like thay they added so much sugar to the Graham Cracker crust. The Spumoni Bar tasted mostly of coconut, but the bar was super flavorful and tasty. The Cheesy Bar cheesecake texture was nice and light. The Fruity Bar was very tasty. Although I wouldn't say that it tasted like strawberry. I liked the crunchy texture from the white chocolate covered rice krispies. I liked the Matcha it could have used a touch more matcha, but I know not everyone likes a super strong matcha flavor. My top picks would be SpumoniBar, Matcha, and Fruity Bar. However, I feel that all of the bars could use more flavor. One of the staff members noticed us and was kind enough to offer to watch the dog while I quickly ordered inside.
