Grey hair pulled out from the lemon square bar after I took a bite out of it.

This was my third time visiting this place. I stopped by coming from grocery store nearby, I used to like this place not anymore. I purchased 6-pack of cinnamon roll (no icings), and the lemon square bar. On the way home walking I decided to take a bite on bar, I had pulled out very thick grey hair out from inside of the lemon square bar. Heck, if you are going to sell ridiculously expensive baked goods, at least invest on head cover for the baker.

An apple slice turnover, chocolate eclair and a cinnamon bun w/ plenty of cream cheese icing, for just a little over $5, that's a steal. Or a deal. The eclair dough side could've been softer, but the whipped cream made up for it. Liked how the server put each item in separate bags. Accept credit/debit cards.

The best cakes, cookies and cinnamon buns around very reasonably priced and friendly staff.

I've been coming there since I was a kid, and I've got to say they have the best cinnamon buns I've ever had.

She recommended: Rosemary garlic pull-apart, and that was REALLY GOOD. Definitely a 5/5. French onion pull-apart, 4/5. Fig, brie, and prosciutto croissant, 4/5 (wife's favourite). Croque monsieur, 4/5 (kids' favourite). I also ordered an oat milk latte with vanilla syrup, which was 5/5. Really good latte!!! They source their coffee beans from "Honest to Pete," located in Vancouver. A 1 lb bag costs $25, and I'm planning to pick one up on my next visit!

While their pastries/cakes are on the pricier side, the quality was really good. The dark chocolate raspberry mousse ($8.25) was decadent and rich without being overly sweet and honestly their canele tasted pretty much like the one I had in France! The matcha latte here (~$5.50) also was better (less milky and had a stronger matcha flavour) than some other cafes in the area. Overall, a pretty solid cafe in the Coquitlam area though you might need to check ahead for pastry availability.

My favorite is Soboro chestnut cube, sweet potato cube, Shio pan, mugwort mochi bun, mochi mochi bread and roll cakes. Cube breads are excellent items. Dough is very soft and fillings are great, especially Soboro chestnut cube's small chestnut pieces and crunchy soboro topping makes it addictive. Shio pan is very buttery , one of the best in town. I also liked Mochi mochi bread which had very chewy texture like mochi, but this time, I felt the one I had in the past tasted better. However, Rich bread was very good. The dough is similar to brioche with very rich, buttery flavor. This one is definitely better than before. Overall, I really liked their products. Highly recommend if you have a chance to visit North road

I've long heard about Korean salt bread and had been wanting to try. Maison mori offered a couple of salt bread selections. I didn't know which to get so I asked for recommendations. The staff wasn't helpful at all. "They're all good." She also said the bread is Korean style bread that is popular in Korea. Then I asked why use the Japanese word for salt, i.e. "shio". She then responded that the bread is Japanese style. Like, which is it? Korean or Japanese? After consulting Gemini AI, the two styles are fundamentally the same but the texture is different. Regardless of Japanese or Korean style, I got the original and black (squid ink). I honestly don't see what the hype is. It's essentially just butter roll with salt sprinkled on top. Lol.

Wifey also ordered a latte whilst I got an Americano. The chocolate cake was super moist, decadent and delicious. Too sweet for me but I can see for chocolate lovers this would be a good choice. My chiffon cake was lighter, moist and plenty of cream. The blueberries were plump, juicy and sweet. The overall bite was nice. The seating in the side of the bakery is cozy and clean. Nicely accentuated chairs got the decor. Service was pleasant from the cashiers at front and they had smiles throughout our visit. Very vice bakery and would definitely visit again.

Unfortunately, its quite hard to find marzipan in the lower mainland. So you can imagine that I was quite excited when I saw they had one on the menu. At first glance the chocolate drizzle on top looked too little, but it was just the right amount. The all butter croissant was perfectly flaky. I heated mine up in the toaster oven for a few mins. The amount of filling that was inside amazed me. However, it would have been more enjoyable if it was more spread out, instead of a "log" of filling. Also, after warming up the pastry, the bottom was extremely oily. So oily that it was literally dripping. The meringue on the Lemon Meringue Bar was a bit deflated and dry. The lemon flavor wasn't overly powerful. The Mango Bar, mango flavor was very mild. I would have liked to taste something a bit more prominent. Also, I didnt like thay they added so much sugar to the Graham Cracker crust. The Spumoni Bar tasted mostly of coconut, but the bar was super flavorful and tasty. The Cheesy Bar cheesecake texture was nice and light. The Fruity Bar was very tasty. Although I wouldn't say that it tasted like strawberry. I liked the crunchy texture from the white chocolate covered rice krispies. I liked the Matcha it could have used a touch more matcha, but I know not everyone likes a super strong matcha flavor. My top picks would be SpumoniBar, Matcha, and Fruity Bar. However, I feel that all of the bars could use more flavor. Additionally, I would like to note the fantastic customer service that I received. I had a dog with me and she has major separation anxiety. One of the staff members noticed us and was kind enough to offer to watch the dog while I quickly ordered inside. I would rate the croissants 4.5 stars, the bars 3.8 stars and the customer service 5 stars.
