Don't get me wrong, I still love sheet cake from Kroger as much as the next kid. Amazing place for freshly made, fresh tasting parisien-esque sandwiches, tea, coffee, latte. The roasted Chicken baguette is tasty. The salads are wonderful, can't go wrong with the smoked salmon, and the desserts are just divine. So light airy and freshly made. Stopped by after my friends wife sent me a picture of an interesting birthday cake she received from her co workers. The food is good and is freshly baked. It's a little like a mixture of Starbucks, Panera Bread and Pret A manger rolled into one. It's self serve and the staff is polite and I found that it misses by any personal interaction and friendliness I would expect. I gave it 4 stars for the food otherwise I would give it a 3. This is a chain outfit and what all of these types of places miss on is either hiring very friendly happy people or train them to interact with the customer. This is a clean, well-run bake shop. I don't think there is any baking going on in these shops, but whoever and wherever the baking is done, it is done very well. I ordered cookies that were listed as available online, and they gave me absolutely nothing when I got there. There was no call, no text, no message at all to let me know. Just a nasty surprise when I got there. There's clearly no care at all in maintaining their ordering system. Besides, there are better, more reliable, places in the neighborhood, go there instead. Love, love, love Paris Baguette cakes! They rare the lightest cakes with fresh cream! Convenient location in downtown Brooklyn! Came here during lunch to pick up two cakes to go and service was both quick and staff was friendly. Omg, tried the chocolate strawberry cake for the first time and absolutely loved it...this is coming from someone who doesn't like chocolate flavored cakes. You don't really even taste the chocolate. I always worry if the strawberries are sweet or tart given the season as it's been a hit or miss in different bakeries/cake shops (mostly misses). This time it was a hit! Also, ordered the usual green tea blueberry cake, which everyone loved. Noticed for the first time that PB actually sells the mini-sponge cakes (serving size 6 ppl) now. Great since I don't always need a 10" cake for small celebrations. Also, the prices in this location is cheaper by $1 than in Manhattan. Lots of pastries too choose from too along with other cakes. Of course, if you want writing on your cake, need to order at least 2 days in advance! I'll be back to try some other cakes and pastries. read more

It was a bit of a shock to watch a Korean bakery plant a branch in the very heart of Brooklyn Heights, but seeing as how I walked in on a gaggle of women exuberantly oohing and ahhing over how "everything is SO cute and pretty!" I would say they're doing all right for themselves here. Anyone familiar with Paris Baguettes will know what to expect. Photogenic desserts, lightly sweetened pastries, and lush berry- and fruit-topped tarts. The cakes here are expensive (at least, for me. If all cakes cost near $30, I'd ban my own birthday celebrations) but achingly detailed and beautiful. I bought the Cappuccino Cake a few weeks ago for my mother-in-law's birthday - a coffee sponge cake with chocolate garnishes cut and shaped to look just like a mega coffee cup and with light buttercream and cocoa swirls to mimic latte foam. Wile it hurt just a little to fork over $28 for a small cake that says it serves 6, the gasps of delight at its final reveal and instant photo-oping around the table made me realize it was money well spent. I might be hanged for saying this but I think the coffees here rival the Starbucks just down the street, both in quality and price. I'm a green cup gal at heart, but the iced coffees and lattes are both deep and rich, lifting the morning sleepy eye after just a few sips. The fact that Paris Baguette has their own simple syrup in a pourable bottle at the counter is incredibly convenient (how many times have I had to flag down a Starbucks barista to tell her she forgot my classic syrup?) and for strict vegetarians, vegans, and the lactose-intolerant, they have non-dairy milks available at a light upcharge of 75 cents. All that, and my large latte this morning still cost less than a latte at Starbucks, with an adorable coffee cup no less. There is ample seating on the ground level for folks to do their usual coffeehouse lingering but even more on the second floor for busier hours. Love the look and feel of this bakery and will spend a few months subsisting on ramen noodles to save up for another beautiful PB birthday cake. read more

I've always loved Paris Baguette. They have very good quality pastries at very affordable prices. They've given other French bakeries a run for their money. The self serve model is also very appealing to the masses as people want to have an up close and personal look before purchasing. Their displays are clean and inviting and sanitary at the same time with glass sliding doors. You see something you want and then you slide the door open and pickup what you want with tongs. This time was the first time I came here with the intention of having a simple lunch sandwich. I've had their Baguette sandwiches in the past when they first opened in NYC. But the new sandwiches blow the old sandwiches out of the water. I had the Pesto Grilled chicken Toasties sandwich which they heated up and it looked like it came fresh off the Panini press. Bread was crunchy toasted and the Pesto was ample, the chicken encompassed the entire sandwich, not just a small piece in the middle of the sandwich. When I was done I was full but not too much. I also had their large iced coffee. I've always enjoyed their coffee. It has a rich taste to it but it never tastes burnt or have that too much grounds, bitter taste. Always a nice experience! On October 28th I placed my ordered 18 baguette breads for a catering job. The ladies took good care of me, my order was ready and waiting for me a pick up the next day. The bread was fresh and soft and I even took some slices of cakes that looked so good in the glass casing. I'm looking forward in going back before Thanksgiving to grab a few desserts for Thanksgiving dinner. I wish they would make a variety of mini pies for the holidays ! But I love this place! My review is based on buying a cake for mother's day - a positive experience. The space is clean and modern. There are seating areas downstairs and upstairs (small but gives a small peak into the baking area). Wifi is available. One unisex bathroom downstairs. Staff is very courteous and professional. Went with the blueberry chiffon, which they state is their #1 cake ($36). I'm not a big sweets person but thought it was a good cake - very light. Was able to easily feed my group of 10 people. My favorite Paris baguette location! They honestly have the best staff and the freshest pastries. My go to pastries are the Feuilleté au Chocolat and Sweet Potato. The Iced coffee here is delicious, especially when made by Jennifer. One of the best I ever had. There are so many things to choose from, you won't be disappointed. I didn't get to try much from here, but from the little bit that I did, I really want to return here. My boyfriend and I were in Court Street and we decided to get brunch. I've always seen this place and finally decided to go in and give it a try. Since we were in a hurry, we didn't order a much but a sandwich. A turkey avocado sandwich to be exact. But even that, as simple as it may seem, was so delicious that we are planning to return here to try some other stuff while were in the area. Update: My boyfriend and I returned recently and we got the chance to try some other things out. We bought some of their warm sandwiches that you pick out from their selections, and then they will heat it up for you almost like a Starbucks. We also ordered some London Fog Tea's that they had on a sale at the time, and everything was so delicious as expected. Heard the cashier tell the barista who was making the drink, SOY. I saw him pour regular milk... I'm lactose intolerant and I can't have regular milk. Instead of fixing her order when she asked politely, she was screamed at completely embarrassed in public. Normally love this place but when I bought a cake today, they handed me the cake in a plastic bag and grabbed the bag by its handles before I could tell him to stop. Luckily I caught it early enough so the cake did not get deformed but the cake slid on the board it comes on and we weren't able to reposition once we opened the cake. This is a bakery chain that has consistently been a solid go to for me. Is it spectacular?! No... but it is a solid option when you need a pastry and some coffee. I am not the biggest fan of customers picking out their own pastries before walking ip to the counter to pay. I would rather the workers handle my order completely. I guess thats the germophobe in me. That being said I picked up an almond pastry, which was kind of bland, but had a great flakyness to it. Walking around Brooklyn, I stumbled on this place. Was in need of some caffeine and a clean, cool place to sit down. Their pastries are in display cases for you to grab for yourself, with tongs, of course. I opted for the Tuscan Brioche. Not bad, probably would've been better toasted, which you can ask them to do for you when you head to the cashier. You would think that they would ask you when you are paying. So if you forget, then too bad for you. Green tea latte was just like every other green tea latte I've tasted. Nothing stood out. I wouldn't argue that they are overpriced, seems fairly average, if I am comparing to similar cafes back home in Hawaii. This particular establishment that I went to wasn't the cleanest. The trash can was full. The tables were kind of dirty and not wiped down. Some of the staff could afford to be a little friendlier, warmer, and a little more welcoming. Barely cracked a smile. Whenever I go to Brooklyn to visit my friend at SFC, we come here to study and chat. The desserts here are so cute. They aren't spectacular, but they're pretty solid in taste in every place you do go to. The atmosphere is really nice and it's clean. It's not too loud so I can study and they also have free wifi so I can go on my laptop. I don't really get their packed lunches, because they are a bit pricey. How nice it worked out for me that this spot opened up on the weekend prior to my having jury duty. Was walking down Court looking for something to ea, starving having skipped breakfast and having been locked up in a jury pool all day. Have to admit I never even heard of Emmantel but this sandwich was pretty darn good. They toasted it up for me so the pretzel was nice and crunchy. Took a walk back to the courts and grabbed a spot on a bench and on this lovely spring da made quick work of that sandwich.
