Came here because I keep seeing it on my Tik Tok. So today about 10am on Friday I decided to stop by after getting my nails done. It was very hard to park in front of the cafe...the street with so many cars going so fast, it was hard getting out of my car. I was not greeted as I walked in..Didn't ask how I was, didn't offer to help me with the menu as I was looking at it for a good few minutes. I was the only one in there so maybe an off day. Anyway I ordered the 20oz Pistachio Latte. Service was fast. The latte itself was very bland unless you drink straight from the bottom and get the pistachio crunchies at the bottom of your drink, without those crunchies it just tasted like milk. It was $9.26 and I gave a tip of 18% bc I HATE when that stupid screen pops up BUT it does give you choices 18%, 20% & a whopping 30% tip...it cost me $11.65 total for a mediocre iced latte. It was cute inside you can sit and eat and have a conversation. I did ask the guy behind the counter if there was parking in the back it was just a gruff yes... The menu looks promising so I may go back again to either get a sandwich or dessert but I'll probably walk even though it's over a mile away because parking is literally that bad. Overall I'm torn it's close by but it's so $$$ for not a great p

I'm a sucker for a sweet treat, so I was excited to grab a cup of gelato at Venchi. If you're not…read morefamiliar with this Italian brand, it has more than a century and a half of history! They started out as a gourmet chocolatier in 1878, and later expanded into artisanal gelato in 2007. The store is located on the first floor of Garden State Plaza near the food court. You can't miss it because the interior is absolutely STUNNING from top to bottom. It looks like a designer boutique, decorated with ice cream cones, walls of chocolate products, and floral wallpaper. Even the packaging is beautiful and feels high-end. Luxurious, darling~ I stopped by on a Friday night and was greeted warmly. From the colorful walls of chocolate bars to the stainless steel counter lined with a rainbow of gelato flavors, I didn't know where to look first! I made a beeline for the gelato. It's freshly made in small batches every day. They offer classic Italian flavors like tiramisu, pistachio, and hazelnut, along with fruity sorbets and more chocolate heavy options. The staff generously let me sample as many as I wanted to. Most are also gluten-free and vegan. You choose a cup or cone, pick your size, and even upgrade to a gourmet version if you want to add a chocolate spread + toppings. Prices are steeeeeeeeep, so I just chose a small cup of the Chocoviar Mango ($7.95)-- a mix of mango and milk chocolate with crunchy white chocolate pearls. Many ingredients are imported from Italy, and they pride themselves on using natural ingredients without artificial flavors or coloring. So naturally, the gelato was delicious! I loved the silky, dense texture. The mango was tangy and refreshing. My favorite part was the milk chocolate bar topping-it had that creamy, melt-in-your-mouth sweetness that cut through the tartness of the mango. Don't forget to browse their selection of gourmet chocolates, gift boxes, and hazelnut spreads. There's no doubt I'll be back to satisfy my sweet tooth! Yes, it's pricey, but that first spoonful made it feel worth it! I should've gotten another scoop. LOL.

Van Dyk's is one of those classic summer traditions for my family. We usually make a few trips here…read moreevery summer, and it's easy to see why people keep coming back. Their homemade ice cream is delicious, and they offer a huge variety of flavors. We stopped by on a Friday afternoon and lucked out--it wasn't crowded yet. If you've ever been here during peak summer hours, you know that's a rarity. This place is a local favorite, and long lines are pretty common later in the day. I was really hoping to get my favorite, Bailey's Cream, but they were sold out. That's one thing to keep in mind: while they have a ton of flavors, they aren't always all available. I ended up ordering the Black Raspberry Chip with free rainbow sprinkles (my go-to), and it definitely hit the spot. Someone in our group got a milkshake and absolutely loved it, while another ordered the Cappuccino Oreo and enjoyed it as well. Portion sizes: A single scoop (their small) is surprisingly large. With prices having increased over the years, I'd love to see a smaller, more affordable option for those times when I just want a little ice cream. I also wish they'd let you choose two flavors in a small cup instead of requiring a double scoop (medium) if you want to mix flavors. A few things to know before you go: Van Dyk's is cash only, although they do have an ATM inside if you need it. The shop itself is very small, with no indoor seating or restrooms. There are only a few places to sit outside, so most people end up standing around or grabbing a spot on the small wall. Parking can also be a bit of a headache. The lot gets hectic, especially when they're busy, and better signage would definitely help. We've found it's often easier to park on a nearby side street and walk over. Even when the line is long, the staff does a great job keeping things moving. One employee usually takes care of an entire group from start to finish, which helps keep the ordering process efficient. Everyone we've interacted with has always been friendly and helpful. Even with the cash-only policy, limited seating, and hectic parking, Van Dyk's is still one of our family's favorite summer traditions. The homemade ice cream keeps us coming back year after year, and hopefully next time they'll have my favorite ice cream, Bailey's Cream, in stock.
