Still 5 stars...so amazing that I had to reconfirm it for you months later after my previous 5 star…read morereview. This is my favorite cheesesteak in ALL of NY and the custom made options you would not get in Philly so arguably this is even better than Philly. There mac and cheese is top tier as well. Also the mozzarella sticks are an affordable and delicious app. Protip: Get extra whiz and put it on when reheating it as this is a filling meal. Also their chipotle mayo is made in house and is very good. URGENT: Get Delivery, don't parking I am updating this review because I got Crotty's yesterday and it was amazing yet again but I learned If you park in McDonalds parking lot (because it is near Crottys) a man with no tow truck boots your car and demands $50 cash to unboot it as its private property as you can't leave the property even if you get McDonald's too. Don't roll the dice and avoid Evil Scammers/crowded streets and simply order delivery from Crotty's. Any delivery fees from the apps are well worth it. If you are in Iona college or high school there are discounts. If it is walking distance for you I 100% think you should check it out in person too. No one can keep me from getting the best cheesesteak ever!!! 5 stars!!!

One of the great things about college is that local spot you discover, where the locals and students crave and talk about 20 -30 years later. Crotty's is aiming to become an Iona Legend. Cheesesteaks needs 4 things to be good but 4 things done right and it approaches great. Crotty's has a great cheesesteak. 1. Steak is cooked juicy and seasoned well 2. Onions are caramelized and tucked in nicely 3. Cheese your choice but I had the cooper sharp (highly recommend) 4 Bread stays together through the whole sandwich. ( Every one hates when the bread holding your sandwich together disintegrates) Guy serving me must be the owner or everyone needs an employee like him because his excitement over the sandwich process was infectious. Great job all around. One note I feel like this place should have some fancy soda choices. The ones that cost five bucks for no good reason. Not a lot just a few. Run don't walk to Crotty's.

Looked over the menu. The set up inside was very nice and retro. I decided to order the cheesesteak which came with a small order of french fries In about 15 minutes, the order came out. Everything looked very good. Nice soft Roll golden french fries I had ordered mushrooms to be added to the cheesesteak Cheese onions mushrooms, peppers. All in good proportion. Steak was very flavorful chopped up nicely. French fries were nice and crispy on the outside. Good potato taste from the inside. The cheesesteak was not greasy like some places I've had cheese steaks. The french fries also were nice and crispy, but not greasy. I appreciated that because every cheese steak sandwich I have eaten . Does has some grease I suppose when it's prepared but some have had too much I was in the mood for a hot dog after having the cheesesteak. So I ordered one with raw onions, relish, light, sauerkraut, and bacon. After about 12 minutes, it came out. It was very impressive looking. Nice toasted roll hotdog split in half just the right proportions of each of the ingredients on the top all the ingredients complimented each other, but didn't take away from the taste of the hotdog itself. I could tell all the toppings on the hot dog . Were of very good quality. The only criticism I would have is that the portion of the steak in the sandwich was not as much as I had expected. Even though the price of everything has gone up for $18, I would've expected a l more meat in the sandwich. But I would go back there again and try one of the cheeseburgers and most likely get the hotdog again along with french fries The service from the young lady was very good

Skibbidy ibbidy doo. What's the derivation of the word/name Grigg? Comment below and let a Linguini…read moreknow. I'm back in Greenwich. CT baby. What a place. If you've read any of my reviews you already know that one of the greatest sleeper food battles in the country is Grigg Street vs Luca's in Greenwich. The most underrated Cheeseteak battle in the world, right here under your nostrils. And you don't even know about it. Do yourself a favor, and educate yourself. I've gone back and forth. Most the time I have Grigg Street a .1 grade higher GASP. But other times I think they are even. I think I need more trials. Oh No! I must go again! - This is me being playful. Imagine the cruelty that the love(s) of my life most go through. Duller than a dump truck that's not street safe. - Anyways. Let me orchestrate a symphony for ya. Beautiful day. Little chilly actually if you ask me. Throw on a way too deeply opened quarter zip - no Nike tech - so that you can get a glimpse of a chain grazing the corner of my pectoral "muscle". I drive my motor vehicle across state lines to end up in the highfalutin Greenwich. Gorgeousness all over the place, my eyes hurt from gazing through exteriors and into souls. Out of place? No. I looked rather handsome this day, or said the chimpanzee that's befriended my pet mule Paco. But was I a foreigner? At the moment, yes. Yet not for long. So all delulu, I stumbled into a side block down a flight of stairs and into a straight up dungeon with a dragon spitting absolute fire in many forms at the open-faced visible ovens. I walked up to the counter and attempted to rizz up the cashier. She did a good job at resisting my aura. Marginally completely ignored me but that negative energy has no impact on a Sigma such as myself. Couldn't even tell if she had the gyatt or if she were mid, but it doesn't matter. Whatever. I'm not mad. That's not even what I was here for. I was here for a slice and a Cheeseteak. Whatever. I ghosted her first. Just PUT THE FRIES IN THE BAG! Anyways. Behind the counter the chef runs a tight ship. Would call him a pirate, first word that came to mind. He crashed out about five times and mogged roughly five unassuming customers and I absolutely loved it. That's how cocky pizza makers should be. No skibidi. No 6-7. All action, no BS. LET HIM COOK. You can only order in 15 min increments on the website. This, again, is a tight ship. So I ordered the cheesesteak and then added a slice to my purchase when I got there. Genius, I know. Why don't you tell huzz behind the counter who thinks that because she ate that she don't have to lock into to the gracefully aging unc who graced her presence. No glaze ofc. ANYWAYS. The cheesesteak is simply one of the best in the world. Straight chungus... this thing is structurally sound at an absurd diameter and circumference. Theres really not an argument to its greatness. The bread is filthy good. The cheese/sauce has some type of extra tang/spice that raises it another level. The meat is just wonderful. I mean this thing is so delicious that it's 9:30AM and I'm contemplating ordering one right now. JUST LOOK AT IT. And the pizza? Mid 8s. That's a nice score. Sourdough crust that dominates a bit because of its charred taste and texture. A good sauce almost wish there were more. Really aromatic, really fresh cheese. Super super deceptively light I could've polished a pie and I probably will at some point. Really liked it, need to try more slices. This place, across all metrics, passed the vibe check. Hits all the KPIs. Love the downstairs dark vibe. And call me Frankenstein but they hit the nail on the head with their two specialties: Pizza and Cheesesteak. Who doesn't love that combo? I know they have more to offer. I know I'll try those offerings. And you should too. Like. Comment. Subscribe. LB out.

The cheesesteak was a bit of a let down. I really didn't love the bread and it needed more cheese. Compared to your average cheesesteak this was great but I am comparing this to Angelo's in Philly and it's just not in that league. We pre ordered our pizza and cheesesteak. When we walked in there was no sign as to where to wait if you had ordered ahead of time. We stood to the side for a few minutes until we were yelled at by the cashier for taking up space. Luckily the owner saw this and quickly interjected. After that poor start everything else went well. The owner let us change our order to sit down and they made space at a table for us. Someone even nicely boxed our leftovers for us.

They have updated the bar and the dining room. The wood is lighter. The bar doesn't smell like old beer any more. We get there at 11:30. By noon, there's already a long wait. Service is friendly. The chicken wings are a top three rendition. We always order ours crispy. They stopped serving celery on the side a while ago. As a purist, I bring a ziplock bag of celery sticks. I say raise the price of an order of wings by 50 cents and serve celery again! The waffle fries are great. They have a surprisingly diverse menu with a big selection of beers. There are desserts, but I have never been disciplined enough to save room. It's cash only. This is the platonic ideal of a burger and wing joint. Set the celery sticks free!

Lots of sauce, to the point when you break them apart, there's a lot of splatter (I think I hit a kid with some sauce about two tables away). Service very good, prices comparable to other wing places. I asked my waiter how many pounds they sold on Super Bowl Sunday. He mentioned "between 18 and 19 thousand pounds!!!" Wow, double wow. Vast majority are ordered in advance and this year they cut off orders about a week before the game. This trip was a solo run for me. My wingmen were nowhere to be found. 4 very sloppy stars
