I'm not a fan of spicy food, and we specifically requested no spice on everything we ordered. Even so, the food seemed heavily seasoned and still had more heat and seasoning than we expected. It was difficult to fully enjoy the meal because of that. Another issue was that the air conditioning was blasting very strongly inside the restaurant, making it uncomfortable to sit and eat for an extended period. I have heard about it numerous times before, but never had a chance to try it so I decided to try it today. The menu is fairly small so it is not confusing. I got a number four which was the chicken slider with french fries and a small fountain soda. When you order your food you get to choose the level of spiciness you want. I got mild as I did not want to go any higher so early in the day the food was prepared very quickly, and the staff was very helpful and helping me make my decision on what to get when the food came out. I got my order to go, but I ended up sitting and eating in the restaurant, the food was prepared very well and everything was seasoned very well. It was pretty busy when I arrived, so there was a little bit of a wait, but it was completely understandable once I got my food. What really stood out to me was that everything came out hot. That may sound simple, but these days it's actually rare. Whether it's places like Burger King, McDonald's, or even fried chicken spots like Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, food often comes out lukewarm. Fried chicken especially needs to be hot, and Dave's absolutely delivered. My entire meal--from the mozzarella sticks to the fries--was fresh and hot. I ordered the mozzarella sticks with a little kick, and they were fire. You can adjust the spice level, and the seasoning gave them just enough heat without overpowering the flavor. The fries were hot and crispy, and they came with Dave's sauce, which was surprisingly good and paired really well with everything. Another nice surprise was the slice of bread tucked underneath the mozzarella sticks--simple, but it really hit the spot. The service was also excellent, and I want to give a special shout-out to Jo Jo and Isaiah working the front line. These two really held it down. Their energy is exactly what establishments like this need. They were engaging, positive, smiling, attentive, and in my opinion they kick off the entire experience from the moment you walk in. The manager also came over and greeted me, asking if I was being helped. I made sure to tell him that the front-line energy is the business, because when your team sets the tone like that, it makes a big difference in the overall experience. The only thing I wish they had on the menu would be bone-in chicken. Wings or traditional bone-in pieces would be amazing because that's usually my go-to. That said, the food I had was so good that it didn't take away from the overall experience. Overall, I was surprisingly impressed with the food, the service, and the atmosphere. Another chicken spot but have finally found the best one so far!!! Bye chic-fil-a! Upon entering, the floors were spotless and the menu was so easy to order from. They have a long list of spicy levels but decided on no spice today but that sign saying you need to sign a waiver for the reaper spice definitely has me curious how bad could it be? I ordered the number 4 and the number 2 but with no pickles or kale slaw. That was another surprise. A coleslaw but made with kale is definitely unique and was delicious my partner definitely missed out! The only downside is the meal doesn't come with a drink. It does come with seasoned fries that were so yummy! I also love how they put sauce on the sandwich and then a small container of the same sauce to avoid us having to go up for more. They already know we will lol! The chicken was amazing. So crispy and juicy and steaming hot!!! The soft bread is also the perfect vessel for all the goodness. I thought price wise, it wasn't bad. The food fed my family of 6. But we will not be returning. The bites had NO flavor. I expected a taste of a mild buffalo but it really had no flavor. If you look at the picture I took the piece of chicken on the left sandwich went off the bun all the way to the corner of the food container. These sliders are full-on sandwiches in my opinion. I was full after one and some fries. When I bit into the chicken it actually made juicy chicken noises twice. I was like, what? The fries are crispy and I like them! The sauce is good too. I have to say I like this place better than other very popular chicken places right now and that says a lot. What I will say, which I won't hold against them as evidenced by my five star rating, is that they get a big volume of customers and so the orders do not come out speedily. You will wait a bit. I went to their soft opening and it exceeded my expectations! Having been to other Dave's locations before, I already knew the food would be amazing; and of course it did not disappoint. For a soft opening, everything ran so smoothly. There was a line (as expected), but it moved quickly, and we got our food in no time.
