Hot of The Press, it's ya boy LB hollering at you. The news cycle for The Press, here on Yelp, has not been positive enough. So in swoops I, Linguini, to save the day by reckoning the truth and wrecking the ideology of any haters. 3.5 stars isn't enough for this spot. A lovely interior in the heart of Scarsdale, a lovely town with lovely looking people. I showed up looking homeless and ashamed - The counterparts of the village looked esteemed, modelesque and disappointed in me. But the truth was... I was in a state of distress. The ham on my calf bone slightly peeled itself the night before and so I was hobbling around from the orthopedic to anywhere that would accept me. I begged for change to pay the lofty fee of my doctorial visit, but there were no takers. Maybe it was the oversized sweatpants or the oversized peacoat or the oversized boot of which I dragged through the streets... but nobody seemed to care for the ill-fallen Linguini. Nor, obviously, did I care for myself. Luckily my stomach ruled my mind and I found myself pressing up against the window of The Press, further glorifying myself as town Hobo. Anyways. I walked up to the counter without an order which is atypical of an abnormal man such as myself. I occasionally come unprepared to see how quick witted, decisive, accurate and successful I can be within seconds. This be the true test of a master. And the master showed his mind by purchasing The Rothman and The Front Page. Lovely complimentary sandwiches for a lovely man at heart, no matter what the surface suggests. Firstly... the price may originally threaten your wallet until the food comes out. Mamma Mia talk about size. A sizeful guy like myself recognizes sizes. These were flirting on gargantuan. The front page was front page worthy by sight, by taste I'd give more of a 4/5. But the Rothman... oh the Rothman. Bread pressed wonderfully. Tasty dressing, melted cheese, solid bacon and a tazminiacally (trademark that word) crispy cutlet. I could have that thang every darn day. The chips were very nice as well and of course I took a few bites with tossing some on the sandwich to be that guy. The Rothman is a 5/5. I don't feel the urge to account. To crunch the numbers. To audit myself. Not even the IRS is allowed to audit me. So who's gonna stop me from balancing out this ledger? From "cookin the books?" Lemme fix this old score here for ya and toss a 5/5 because this place certainly does not deserve the low rating it currently has on this platform. My plan is for my presence to become a familiar entity at The Press. The kids call that aura. But I will not be a familiar face. I will enter in costume; I will be cloaked, cluttered and cleverly calm. You'll never catch me. But I'll be there. A regular. A customer. A fan. Stay Sassy Scarsdale.

This is such a nice addition to a village that is lacking great food and options for a quick bite in my opinion. I never wait more than 15 minutes for this place to have my food ready. I've tried doing takeout from parkway cafe and it was a good 30-40 minute wait. They have great sandwiches, and I must say I am addicted to their waffle fries. Staff is friendly, the inside is clean and has a few tables to sit. The prices are on the pricier side but honestly, so are the rents in the town so it's very understandable.

Disclaimer: I consider myself a bit of a sandwich snob at times. I wanted to love this place after seeing the hype on instagram and knowing that's it's owned by the same people as One Rare, but it fell flat for me. The sandwich's have potential for some great favor combos, but it is by no means a stacked sandwich. The meat to bread ratio is a little off for me. I got the Tony Pec. It was a super thin cutlet, tasty but thin. There wasn't a lot of sauce either. The end corner was missing some filling so it was just bread. That should be the best end bite! We also got the Page Six. The flank steak was on the dry side and not overly saucy for something that advertises chimichurri and aioli. Just lacking overall. The fresh potato chips are a nice touch. Not sure why they sell bags of chips if the sandwiches come with them. We went towards the end of the day, but still very much open and serving, and the floor needing a good sweeping and the tables wiped down. It has potential, but can't say im making this a destination spot for sandwiches.

The food was delicious. I ordered the Page six sandwich, the steak was tender and very soft. The arugula, cheese and chipotle aioli really brought this sandwich together. My favorite part was the toasted bread, it was very soft in the inside yet crispy on the outside. I would definitely order again from here!

I ordered the Lead Story with the shaved ribeye, provolone cheese and onions and it was amazing. The steak was juicy and flavorful, and the bread was able to hold its shape while i was eating it. The steak came with potato chips which i thought was a great alternative to fries. The service was quick and easy and the lady working up front was nice. The store was clean and decorated nicely with paintings and pictures which definitely add to the ambiance. Overall great experience, will revisit again!

Burger wasn't huge, but was super juicy, fresh right off of the grill and the Stu sauce was a great addition to it. + Big Al' shroom BOOM Burger - Same comments as above, but with mushrooms, onions and truffle sauce smotherrrred all over it. + Stupendous Cheesesteak - EXCELLENT cheesesteak. The bread was soft and the steak was tender and tasty. The cheese melted perfectly on it. + Cheese Fries - Very good baked cheese fries. These aren't your typical gooey cheese fries, but instead oven baked with probably sliced cheese melted on top. I prefer the "gooier" version, but it was still good. Our family shared this and still had some left over! + Strawberry Milkshake - Spot on as authentic as it gets. Creamy, smooth, no artificial flavor what so ever. + Menu consists of multiple burgers, flatbreads, salads, sandwiches, appetizer and sides, but DEFINITELY go get one of the burgers! THE SERVICE ------------------- + PHENEMONAL service from the lone employee working the floor. The woman was very friendly, kind and made sure we had everything we needed multiple times. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- = The restaurant isn't huge, but does have 3 tables for 4, 3 tables for 2 and multiple counter seats. = No private parking lot, but there are street parking spots right outside. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Were the 1st customers on a late Sunday morning at 11 AM and we were pretty much the only diners during our entire time here. There were a few pickup orders, but it was fairly quiet. Don't let that deter you from coming by though!

To start, we shared the crispy brussel sprouts Charleston style. These were delicious with the tangy sauce and large flakes of parmesan cheese. For my main, I had the brunch wrap. It comes with chips, but I swapped for fries for an additional charge. The wrap was a good size; I had half and saved the rest for leftovers. It was tasty, but not a ton of flavor. The tater tots were nice and crispy and I enjoyed the fresh tomatoes and avocado. They gave me a huge portion of crinkle cut fries, which also would've been great with a little more seasoning, but they were good when dipped in mayo. My husband got the shrimp and grits and appreciated the large portion size as well. I had a lemonade to drink. It was refreshing since it wasn't overly sweet. Service was great. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu!

Aesthetically, each table feels like a meal at a family dinner table; it's clear that they wanted that vibe to be translated, and it's done quite well. This is also supported by the service being very friendly and helpful in general. To eat, I had the French toast burger with sweet potato fries. Some others with me had various sides like regular fries and tater tots, and the same thing was present on them that tends not to be at most places: they were all perfectly salted/seasoned. It might seem immaterial, but it's a very good signal when something that simple--yet often neglected in favor of just using condiments to mask it--is executed well. If you're a burger place with fries that taste great without the need for a sauce or condiment, you're doing something right. The French toast burger was likewise fantastic, combining sweet and savory in a great way. To drink, we all got a communal pitcher of the only frozie they had available at the time: a kind of jungle juice vodka slushie. It, too, was great--worthy of multiple rounds. All in all, here's a place that I can't wait to give another visit.

With both à la carte options and a $44 Prix Fixe menu, we went for the prix fixe -- and it was the best decision of the day. A truly enchanting brunch that felt as if we had slipped away to a cozy café in Paris. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, with live soft jazz music setting the perfect tone. The staff was warm and attentive, anticipating every need -- even the bread served with a luxurious French butter with black sea salt was top notch. No land Lake served on their tables. Cocktails Bloody Mary -- perfectly mixed, bright and briny with just the right touch of horseradish Peach Bellini -- light, fruity, and beautifully balanced Appetizers Salmon Tartare -- diced fresh tuna , with a vibrant pesto sauce, served with crisp baguette toasts. Hubby opted for the Soup du jour, a comforting individual tureen of butternut squash soup, delicately garnished with sunflower seeds -- savory with just a hint of sweetness, the perfect bowl for a cold, rainy day. I had a few spoonfuls and can agree it was delicious and warming. Entrées So many options I really had a tough time picking one. So many classic French dishes, but the buckwheat crepe won out. A SMOKED SALMON CREPE Filled with chopped salade, in a buckwheat crêpe, sunny up egg. Great to the last bite. The waiter comes over with a huge tureen of chocolate mousse and scoops out a huge amount of it to add in your dessert plate . Quite the presentation. Paired with after-dinner drinks, this brunch was a seamless blend of French elegance and warmth -- every bite, every note of music, every detail thoughtfully done.
