SO RUDE. The waitress was such a sweetheart but the manager, Joel, was so rude and unprofessional. We left the 5 star review for the free bubble tea and fries, and then Joel accused of us scamming them by leaving a 5 star response, deleting it, and reposting. My friends and I go for a good time with good food but Joel created such a hostile and disrespectful atmosphere. When confronted, he laughed in my face and didn't take me seriously. He kept making snide comments to my friends and I, I was the only one who's been there before more than twice and I never left a review. Joel needs some serious customer service training because a grown ass adult manager shouldn't be beefing with teenagers especially when we didn't do anything wrong, we were respectful and kind and polite until this happened. Haven't been to a Bonchon in awhile and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this one. Located around the mall in White plains, plenty of street parking and mall parking around the area. The restaurant is very spacious, different than some Bonchon's in the city. Their menu is so much larger than I remembered as well. We got the thigh combo with soy garlic sauce and kbbq sauce, both were great. Also got the korean street corn, which was ok, the sauce was a little too liquidy for me. We also got the korean donuts, which were good too. Overall not too pricy, and we had a lot left overs afterwards. Service was pretty fast too, didn't have to wait too long for the food to come out. I've been eyeing Bonchon's opening in White Plains for a while. I actually had never heard of the chain before, but both my brothers had nothing but good things to say about it which instantly got me excited. They officially opened their doors on 11/8, and after letting the dust settle for about a week I decided to stop in the other evening and pick up some dinner. Bonchon is located on Main Street which is one of the main commercial strips in downtown White Plains. The space itself isn't large but the layout kinda works since there's a space to wait in line to place your order then a small area to stand and wait for it. Additionally, there's a seating area with a decent amount of tables/chairs. This space used to be a quick-service pizza spot and they definitely remodeled and dedicated a large portion to kitchen as I remember the former spot being larger. The star of the menu is fried chicken, prepared Korean style which makes it extra crispy. There's chicken in all shapes and sizes: drums, wings, boneless, and strips. In addition to the poultry, they have a selection of other Asian-inspired dishes, some sides, and dessert. I'm admittedly not a wing person, so I was deciding between the boneless and the strips and ultimately chose the latter. Each chicken item is orderable in a number of different piece sizes and your choice of sauces to be added. I ordered with a 5-piece with half the strips brushed with Korean BBQ sauce and the other half brushed with soy ginger. I chose the meal option which came with a choice of side (I chose seasoned fries) in addition to some complementary coleslaw. At first glance, I thought the strips were a little scrawny looking - it may have been the way they were placed in the box but I eat with my eyes first and they didn't really look great. However, I wasn't at a gourmet eatery so I quickly checked myself. The strips were quite good - five pieces was a good size (especially relative to the generous helping of fries); they were crispy as expected and the sauces were really flavorful. Speaking of the fries, they were pretty good but the seasoning was a little muted - not bad though. Service was good - they were super efficient and despite being busy my order was ready in a relatively short amount of time. Overall, I was impressed with my first visit at Bonchon - I'm glad they opened in White Plains and will definitely return to explore more of their menu. read more

I recently tried Korean food for the first time, and I'm officially a fan! As I walked in, I asked the cashier what would be good for a first-timer. I don't like spicy, oily food, and I prefer low-sodium meals. She recommended either the fried chicken, as they're known for it, or the bulgogi. I saw the sign for Bonchon go up recently and I was so excited to try it. They have other locations, but this is their first Westchester location. Tonight, I stopped in for dinner. I don't eat fried chicken but they have some other options too. I tried the marinated chicken tacos. They were very flavorful and packed with chicken, coleslaw and lettuce. It was the first time I tried Korean tacos, and I would definitely come back and get them again. They were fresh and delicious. For $12, you get a lot of food! It took 15 minutes for my order to be prepared. There were only 2 people ahead of me, but they were training a lot of staff behind the counter, as they just opened. I saw other food options that I would love to come back and try too. I also had a Chai Bubble Tea; I would order this again too. It was more like a chai smoothie, but it was good. I live just a couple of miles from Bonchon and the food is alway warm at best. The food is great and I reheat the fries in my airfrier and they come out awesome. This place has been slammed since opening. I came at 2pm on a Monday after the lunch rush. It was about half full, and the wait was brief. There are a good number of tables, and the staff take pains to keep them clean. I plumped for the 8 piece boneless, and made it a meal. The meal includes one side dish and a fountain drink. I chose the cheesy corn. The included fountain drink was a tall medium, but choices were limited, they had run out of a couple selections and they do not have iced tea. My food arrived in five minutes and was carried to the table by a server. The best thing was the cheesy corn, which reminded me of a dish that comes with the BBQ at Baekejong, but was spicier. The boneless chicken would have been great had it not been lukewarm - I am guess it had spent some time keeping warm since the fryer. The chicken was moist and tender, the crust crisp, the special sauce just the right balance of spicy and sweet. The complimentary side of pickled daikon was tiny, but helped balance the heat. Keep in mind me and my friends have NEVER done this deal before, I have personally have never bought anything there before. The manager (Joel) kept insisting that we've done the deal before and that he "remembers our names" but "he'll let it slide". . He gives my friends their food and repeats that he is gonna act like he's doesn't know what going on. We are so confused because we've genuinely never done that deal before. Joel needs to lock in. Fried Chicken Leg- i and my wife bit into it and GREASE came out like a bubble in our mouths- thankfully it was not to hot- 2. 5 Piece Chicken Strips spicey- to say the least they should have been chicken feet fried. really skinny mostly breading drenched in sauce. 3. This is probably the worst coleslaw we ever had, to be exact and precise the after taste was like eating a spoonful of SPLENDA- Sugar Substitute i have to say i hope it survives at this location being from growing up in WP i've seen that Mamaroneck Ave and Main Street area businesses especially hard to park areas just disappear overnight. My biggest tip is if you want your food nice and hot. EAT HERE. DONT order take out or expect a pipping hot delivery order. We've eaten here three times since they've opened up and so far haven't been disappointed. If you think this is your average fast food sort of place and your food will be ready FAST. Then you WILL be disappointed. Our food took maybe 15 to arrive to our table but it's been hot each time and that's how we know it's made to order and FRESH. So no complaints there at All. The chicken itself is nice and crispy. We've had the bao buns which are good. Bulgogi fries have been our go to. SUPER GOOD. I've walked by Bonchon any number of times, and today was the first time it wasn't very crowded (I passed by at an off hour, 2:30ish, well past lunch, well before dinner), and after taking a minute to review the menu in the window (which I'd never done since it's right next to window seating that's always ocupied, and it felt a little creepy to look at it while people are right there) I saw that they had several items on the menu that sounded good, at competitive prices. Plus, I was hungry. So I figured, new year, try new things. And in I went. having looked at the meu in the window, I ordered the 5 piece chicken strps, fries, and a diet pepsi. Yes, it sounds like food you can get anywhere. But the server was polite, rang up the order perfectly, answered my questions about sauces, and made the intial meet very pleasant. Order placed, I was given an order number, went to a table, and waited for my number to be called. Well, they don't call your number. When orders are ready, they're placed on trays, and brought to the table by a server. Within less than 5 minutes, my food came to my table, and...it was as good could hope for, and better than most would expect. The chicken strips are fresh (maybe a little on the well done side, but not overdone) 0with a thin, crisp seasoned kight coating of bread crumbs. The french fries are frozen, but good quality. While the chicken strips don't compare to my all time favorite of Ranch One, there are virtually no more Ranch Ones, and these are better than anything else I've had at any quick serve restaurant in the lat 10 years. They offer a variety of sauces, but given I try to avoid sauces with a lot of sugar, I settled for ketchup for the strips and the fries, and that worked out fine. I am still trying to find someplace that delivers boneless fried chicken at the level of Ranch One, but while looking, this is the best I've found to date on that quest. This place is in a pay for parking mall. We ordered the fried vegetable dumplings (which arrived cold), edamame with salt (no salt was added), and the soy garlic chicken fried rice which was supposed to come with egg (no egg was added). The dumplings and fried rice were way too salty. The place was crowded and has very little seating. It costs about on par with a Chipotle or Panera Bread. Of course, they ask for a tip.
