Best Kbbq in Westchester, nicest manager and employees in a Korean restaurant I ever been to!

    Awful Dolsot Bibimbap
    Louise F.

Worst Dolsot Bibimbap I ever had. The egg was raw not fried and the dish was cold? How could it be cold when it's supposed to be served piping hot? It was served in a stone pot but there was zero heat. I should have known when it came out so fast. My friend's first time at a Korean restaurant and I felt awful both of our dishes were so bad. The rice was white and sticky, no flavor. No crispy rice bottom, what a damn disappointment. The meat was chunks of beef rather than ground. Shame on me for not speaking up and returning the dishes. The banchan was fishy, every dish had a fishy taste that overpowered and actually tasted old.

I enjoy every second in this restaurant and has been a loyal customer for more than eight years, yet I am still impressed and moved by how amazing and fabulous John is! Your food and more importantly your kind people made my day admist my chaotic day! Thank you so very much for giving me this wonderful experience in your cute place! Yum yum

One order of a la carte beef brisket!

I grew up in Somers, NY but have lived in Southern California since 1996. I use to spend a lot of time in White Plains, NY and at that time before 1989, there were no H-Marts in Westchester County, let alone Korean BBQ restaurants. A couple weeks ago I drove to try Kalbi House but ended up eating at the Korean restaurant inside the H-Mart food court, which is always a good option. Last night I tried Kalbi House before picking up a few items at H-Matt. I was the only person eating but that will never deter me as I know, Tuesday and Wednesday nights are typically slow for most restaurants. I discovered father and son purchased Kalbi House about a year ago and the son was working and was very nice and easy to talk to. I ordered the a la carte beef brisket and an order of kimchi jjigae. Both of which were good. The beef brisket was a bit small on the portion size for the price and the quality of meat was okay, it was not melt in your mouth like I am used to, hopefully they consider a new vender. Considering I am helping my Mom in Somers and Mahopac has an amazing new option now in Choi's BBQ (the owner lives in Flushing Queens so it is legit and his meat quality is too notch) i will stick with Choi's. My son works at Wang Cho Korean BBQ in Riverside, CA and their meat quality surpasses any a la carte menu. Price means absolutely nothing, it's all about quality. Living in Southern California you get so spoiled with all the ATCE options! I support all small businesses though and I wish Kalbi House all the best. I would eat here again when in the area.

Was craving korean bbq and this is pretty much the only one in the Westchester region. We came here without a reservation around 2p on a Saturday and with plenty of openings. There were street parking outside and were pretty easy to find. The restaurant is pretty small but typically korean. You immediately get a kbbq vibe. Our servers were efficient and nice, nothing to complain about. The food was pretty typical korean, exactly what we expected. Did not blow us away and definitely not one of the fancier and memorable korean bbq places, but has your standard stuff and will satisfy your cravings. I see why it could be rated poorly bc each order of bbq did not have that much meat in it yet it is more expensive than your usual kbbq prices... However, I think being the only one around the area gives them a pretty big advantage. I probably will come again for the convenience. Hope to have more food for what we pay for though in the future...

Ben wanting to try this place for a while and finally went with family. Place is small and cozy. Their menu has options for BBQ or you can order dishes. We decided to do the BBQ option and staff helped us with the cooking. Portions were good and loved the side dishes. Meat quality and seasoning was good. We also ordered fried rice and soup and they were so good. I do have to say, all the other tables got white rice but we did not, that's why we ordered the fried rice. I'm not sure if it depends on the dish. Although the service was good, I did think it was a little pricey for BBQ. Will have to go back to try the individual dishes

Located about a block and a half up the street from the hartsdale h Mart this place is pretty authentic from a lot of experiences so far. Service was very pleasant and efficient. Nothing is really rushed between your appetizers and entrees and the little mixed platters of pickle that you usually get with traditional Korean food. I tried the lunch special box with the kalbi which was just right portion wise. Something I've not experienced previously at any of these joints was the cinnamon / ginger tea as a post meal apertif.

Great experience, filled up a bit on side dishes! It was a Thursday night, a few family members I had not seen in awhile. No wait time, seated right away, I have to admit some seating I felt was a little spaced too close but not enough to interrupt any meal time. Luckily other patrons were pretty quiet. Started with some nice hot sake and a beer. Could not remember the brands but will update next time. Ordered some gyoza and edamame to pair with the alcohol. Gyoza was fried with a light coating and still enough with a crisp in bite without it being overdone. For the Main you need to try the Korean BBQ here, you can have it cooked or cook it on the cook top yourself, it is an experience in itself. As a Korean BBQ, whatever main dishes you order for the BBQ comes with sides. Always love Bulkoki sometimes spelled Bulgogi was a great choice, Jae Yook Gooyee and of course Kalbi, I mean its in the name of the establishment! The Jae Yook Gooyee was marinated thin slices of pork belly, not really spicy but looks amazing even uncooked. I always like to add a pork option, seems to give variety to every meal and fat content tends to lead to tastier results. The Bulgogi and Kalbi are both prime rib but cut differently, bulgogi was more thinly sliced while the kalbi was larger cut pieces. Both marinated in a similar sauce, they both cook on the grill very fast and both super delicious. Now while it was Korean BBQ and sometimes portions do get smaller with time, inflation and etc., I can tell you that for a bigger framed person I could be satisfied with just 1 order if I were alone. The best part was all the side dishes that come with your entrees, and while it may not be advertised they are seemingly unlimited, just ask for more of a side dish. Now lets go through the list from top favorites to least, on top you have the small cut sweet potatoes, I am not sure what sauce they were soaked in, I am leaning towards sesame oil and soy but they are a good starchy add on to anything your eating there. Fish cakes one of my favorites, has a tiny bit of spice like from marinade but not to deter anyone away from trying. There were also sides of broccoli, spinach, bean sprouts, lettuce, and of course kimchi. You do always geta side of white rice but they also have some gochujang and another dip provided, however making your own lettuce wraps in addition to pairing it with rice is a suggestion to enjoy your meal more then just one way. It was a great experience, I do recommend stopping by, wait staff was attentive, food was good. I have to mention that parking in their parking lot is extremely limited if you are trying to go on a Friday/Sat. Sunday of course is free parking outside on the street and Weekdays more availability. I was having such a good time that I did forget to take a lot of photos, like I mentioned food did cook pretty quickly. Have fun and enjoy!

No good again, we missed the original owner here, looks like they are 3/4 turned over and all new faces here. We been here many time since 15 yeas and met 3 past owners. This time I really want to say it is my last Time. The quality is really downhill here

Great Korean food! I love the little plates with appetizer. Their kimchi is delicious. You cannot go wrong with this place. Friendly staff. Clean place. Highly recommended.

It's been a long time since I've found a place I can rave about, and this is my place! Thank you Google! I was looking for a place to quench a hankering for Korean, and with gas prices rising I wasn't feeling the trek to Fort Lee or Queens, plus who wants to pay a toll. A little bit of searching on Google, and we found this place. It's my first time here & I gotta say it's nice that they had parking in the back & you don't have to feed a meter. On a Wednesday evening it was just our party & one other. The service here is attentive, friendly & plain perfect. There are plenty of tables, and a couple of TVs playing Korean movies or dramas, not sure? We ordered a seafood pancake, vegetable gyoza, shrimp tempura, eel over rice, and of course the kalbi with a couple of Korean beers. The ban chan was set & the food came out piping hot. I must say the food was delicious, the seafood was fresh & cooked perfectly. The food tasted authentically Korean. Only reason I mentioned authenticity was because after looking at their menu on Google, I thought they might be a Korean Japanese fusion, but they were not. We all agreed that this could be our new spot, no more driving over bridges for great Korean food! Also, for those who care to know, the women's toilet was spotless. There's literally nothing I can complain about. We all left here feeling full & happy, it was a great first experience. This is a local family owned business, they are originally from Queens & I'm so glad they moved here. Everyone treated us like we were regulars. We will most definitely be regulars after this. Happy Yelping!

    They serve alcohol?

Yes they now have a small selection of beers, wines and sake only. I don't think they sell the hard liquor stuff. As soon as you walk in, in front of you is a little bar are with a small selection of drinks

Do we have to make a reservation? And how old do we have to be to be there/ call in? Do we have to be with an adult?

No, but it helps to call/contact to make one , and they reserve one of the really cool booths .

It really helped that it was a Wednesday night though--this place does get busy. Great ambiance inside. They shout a Japanese greeting as you walk in. Pics included. We had some great meats, rice, and veggies. Only wish the bigger tables had two grills in them. One doesn't make sense. We couldn't all eat at a normal pace. We had the egg rolls this time around, crunch and superb. Hanger steak was new for us this time, excellent, would get again. Beef tongue--pretty good! Not bad.

So much so, I couldn't eat more than a few bites Moreover my complaints to my bartender/server fell on deaf ears...which reeks of poor management Gyu-Kaku may or may not be good for Japanese bbq but I caution folks while dining there, their ramen offerings should definitely be avoided at all costs

First, I'll give credit where it's due: we arrived a little late for our reservation and they accommodated us almost immediately, which we appreciated. Before we were even seated, one of the staff members asked if we wanted still or sparkling water, and within seconds someone else came to take our order. We decided to go all in with the full churrasco experience. That's where things started going downhill. For some reason, many of the gauchos kept approaching our table with only the last piece of meat left on the skewer, which meant one person at the table often missed out completely. As the night went on, we did get to try some of the churrasco selections along with the chicken and parmesan pork, but service quickly became extremely inconsistent and inattentive. Multiple times we had to flag staff down just to get food brought to our table. At one point, a hostess asked if there was anything specific we wanted, so we requested the picanha and ribeye since neither had come around. Later, another staff member promised to bring us those cuts along with the fried cheese. We said yes to everything... and then waited... and waited... and nothing ever arrived. Eventually another gentleman came by again with pork and once again asked if we wanted anything specific -- for what felt like the fifth time. We repeated our requests, but the food we were promised still never showed up. By that point, the vibe was completely off. We were looking forward to dessert, but honestly we just wanted to leave. The atmosphere made us feel unwelcome and forgotten. To make matters worse, the meat quality itself was very disappointing. Several cuts were unusually chewy, the color looked off, and the flavor tasted old and low quality. For a restaurant charging around $75 per person, the experience and food quality simply did not match the price. Unfortunately, my partner and I left feeling frustrated and disappointed, and we definitely will not be returning.
