Got take out from here and twi as pretty decent! Pros: + Great options for curries + Vegetarian Friendly - I love the palak paneer + Lasooni gobi was fantastic + Large Parathas Cons: - A few options were overpriced - One of the specialty parathas is around $10-12 dollars. Yes, they are pretty big. However, I would have expected to pay around $7-8 for one IG: QueenOfAdventureNYC read more

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!- They keep wasting your time by saying ur order is coming in 10 mins, few minutes. Gosh! Idk what they are upto? No respect for customers. No integrity! Why keep telling lies about the order whether it's take out or dine in. Wasted my 30 mins in the restaurant today for just a simple snack in the morning where no such crowd was there. They need to work on their business and improve customer service rather than chitchat about life. Such a slow process, totally disappointed by their behaviour as had to walked out on empty stomach WORK ON UR BUSINESS IF U WANT TO GROW UP ELSE SHUT IT DOWN!!!!! read more

Food and service is great even in late nights. Must try if have paratha cravings. Lots of options

Paratha Junction is more than its signature dish. It's a tasty food hub in a retro bollywood train like ambiance. Good portions & reasonable prices with a multi course menu. Service is alright. They probably should've served us water. Food wise, Samosa chaat is delicious. Aloo onion paratha is nice but not extraordinary. Paneer tikka is sizzling & tastes pretty good but the paneer itself isn't as soft. Gulab jamun was little too hot & soft. Pay by cash to save some bucks. read more

So this place is defo a hidden GEM in Journal square(India square). The ambiance very much resembles if you are in a desi dhaba. Their parathas are the BESTTT! They actually taste like your mon's parathas. Very legit. We tried their Allo and cheese one-both were amazinggg!! Also best part they have a person in front making fresh jalebis right away- they were like heaven!! Defo will go back. MUST try. read more

I've had some bad luck recently with Indian restaurants in the journal square area. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food here. The lamb samosas are excellent and the best I've had in a long time-- look at the amount of peas in them! The naan was everything I wanted it to be. The mango lassi was delicious as was the daal makhani. The butter chicken was sweeter than I personally like it to be but still good. I would have liked my mains to be a bit spicier but that's on me for not specifying. The interior of the restaurant is snug; its about 3 tables I think so I wouldn't try to bring a very large party here. Food service was relatively quick considering. 9/10 would eat here again and even try a more complex dish... read more

took a hour for food never come here slow service everything is horrible. ambience was okay but they consistently lie about food waiting.

The late hours and bold flavors make this a valuable delivery option, despite the time when I ordered $18 chicken 65 biryani and just got the $10 chicken 65 which I originally thought was a DoorDash issue. But the chicken 65 was good enough that I revisited it. This time I also got the pav bhaji. I wasn't sure which item the green sauce belonged to but it was impressive nonetheless. read more

Came to this area to pick up some pawn so decided to try out paratha junction. Service was nice and quick. Food came out piping hot! Wish I asked for the food to be spicy because it was definitely not spicy for my taste but quality was great. Got the chicken tikka parantha and the keema samosa. Both were really good. I'll need to come back and try some the curry dishes. Also decided to grab some desserts but next time I'll skip those. Love the decor here too! read more

This is located at the junction of paratha and culinary perdition. Should you damn your morning in ordering chole bhature or puri halwa, know that very smallness of its servings of watery chickpeas or greasy halwa would be your salvation therein. Another saving grace - pretend as if you received exotic fare as nothing would be recognizable. Even better, get this - they offer a two for one deal but intentionally omit the second order lowering your pain - smart!! And!! uber eats tops up your compensation knowing this doozie of badness. It would be overkill to add mandatory condiments of pickle or onion as this is not enhanceable - so nothing received to mask the depravity. Don't be fooled by the subtly disheveled packaging - what awaits will define new lows!! But you self-flagellated playing Russian roulette with sub three yelp turd stars! read more

One of the few restaurants that opened later on a Sunday night. We were surprised how packed it was. (Which is inevitably a good sign, of course). Despite the business, we were able to grab a table pretty quickly and the waitstaff was so attentive and the space was very welcoming and friendly. I got the curry chicken and it was a great choice. Everything was cooked to perfection and came out at a decent amount of time. Not that I frequent Jersey but I'll definitely be returning soon. read more

I got Samosa Chaat for Pick Up here. Considering that Journal Square has so many Indian spots, I'd have to recommend away from this place. I've had samosa Chaat in many other places and this is the worst Samosa Chaat I've had. It was bland, excessively watery, soggy, poorly presented, and tastes like it was regurgitated. I'm normally not picky at all when it comes to food, but this was so bad, I can't even get through a few bites and had to throw it out. I'm giving a two star as a benefit of the doubt but if a common dish like like Samosa Chaat turns out so bad...it doesn't seem promising. read more

For a place called paratha junction, the gobi and aloo parathas were very weak cold and overpriced ($9). The veg biriyani was impressively bad. The daal and the malai kofta were decent, all of the above made us sick the next morning. Also, the ambiance is not the best - a very fast casual vibe. Overall, would not recommend... lastly, an automatic gratuity was charged for a group of 4 and we were not notified in advance read more

I ordered delivery from delivery.com. The order was delivered with an item missing which the restaurant had called me ahead of if the delivery about. When I asked them to refund or redeliver I was told to contact delivery.com or place a new order. So basically they won't do anything to fix their mistakes it's on you! and whatever was delivered was leaking all the way to the outer packing and dripping all over the carpet of my front door. Again they won't redeliver unless you place a new order because they "don't deliver" ( is what I was told my the person who was answering their phones). So now I have to chase delivery.com for refund and the onuses of proof is on you despite having paid in full and tipping! read more

Definitely a best place for parathas. Cannot think better place other than this the reason for 3 stars is when I check in via yelp I received a promotion to have a free desert of my choice. I requested the same to the lady who was working but the first thing she said is like how do I redeem it (well I am not the one who is working there) nonetheless, I was given a free desert but there was a clear argument in kitchen which everyone in restaurant heard and owner didn't said good about it. Hence, I would not visit the restaurant again after all etiquette matters over quality read more

I ordered food from this restaurant for the first time from uber eats. I saw an offer from the same restaurant on Grubhub so decided to cancel immediately (within 2 min). I was not careful to check and got charged $47 on a $55 order as cancellation charge. I called uber eats who told me that restaurant will decide whether they can still fulfill my order or not. I called up the restaurant and a lady picked up. I told her I just ordered from uber eats and she got flustered and handed to another guy. The guy asked me about my order and said he doesn't see it. He asked me the same question about my name and order details at least 3 times, pretended to talk to someone and told me he doesn't see my order and I should call back in 5 min. I call back 5 min later, he asked the same questions 2 more time. By this time, I knew he was lying. I offered to come pick up the order, at which point he handed the phone to someone else. That person immediately told me he sees my cancelled order and can't do anything about it. He lied that the restaurant doesn't keep the cancellation charges even though uber eats confirmed it. This is not a restaurant, they are thieves and don't deserve to stay open. read more

Got the paneer and chicken tikka parathas. The outsides were burnt, insides weren't fully cooked through. It was difficult to eat. Irani chai was overly sweet with strong rose water flavor. MISSING ITEMS IN TAKEAWAY AND NO REFUND! I visited this place twice during my last visit. The restaurant definitely has cleanliness issues and the kitchen looked bad, the service is worst but first time around the food was okay. So we ordered again for the second time to take away. Upon reaching our destination in Maryland, we opened the bag only to find half of the items were missing. I called the restaurant multiple times and was told that they are sorting it out but 1 week down and still haven't received my refund. Worst service I have ever received. Visited this place last week for dinner. Really amazed at the taste of food there. ~ I went two days back to back and had parathas and kaali dal both times. The parathas were simply fabulous! They came out pretty quickly, piping hot and well made. The stuffing was just as it should be; fresh, hot and super tasty. There were by far the BEST parathas I have ever had in US :) ~ The parathas are served with a limited amount of yogurt raita. Well, it was not the best raita I ever had but was okay. They charge $2 for each small cup of extra raita which is outrageous! Avoid that completely ~ The Kaali Dal was really amazing. Slow cooked lentils, flavored well and served in a handi, this came with a side of rice. The combination was perfect and dal with the parathas was awesome too. ~ The Indian Chai is the better amongst other chai I have had around. Pretty cheap ($2), given they also charge the same amount for 10 ml raita! ~ The place is really dark and some light would really help! Overall, service was quick, servers pretty friendly. I read a lot of reviews about a shady restroom so skipped that! Pretty good portions for the price. Two stuffed parathas, rice and dal along with chai for two would be around $26. Pretty great food for that! They do not accept card below $20. read more

Avoid going on rush day I have heard a good review about their parathas and biryanis. It was dandiya night (29-Sep) and I guess we chose the wrong day to go there. It was overcrowded. We got the table after 30 minutes. This is small eatery with 8-9 table and very congested. The table beside us, got occupied by one big group and they were all noise. It was like we are having dinner together, it was that close. Coming to food, we ordered Tandoori chicken, Hydrogen bomb paratha ( a mixture of chicken and mutton) and 2 mutton biryanis. Tandoori chicken was $10 but it was not an iota greater than chicken we get in the buffet; only fancy part was they serve on a sizzling plate. The paratha was ok and coming to biryani, no sir, we don't call it biryani. It was mutton gravy mix with rice. I even told them, I heard good reviews of your biryani, but I was disappointed with what they served. Might be I have chosen the wrong day to go, but it was a restaurant. They should prepare for days like this read more

Disappointed, to say the least. Ordered Samosa, Paneer Tikka, Dal Makhni for a takeout. Samosa: Decent, but definitely not fresh. The filling was ok but the samosa definitely tasted microwaved/reheated. Paneer Tikka: Clearly undercooked. They seemed to have gotten the marination right but the paneer was clearly refrigerated and a bit hard for a paneer tikka to be honest. The veggies along with that seemed to be there just for the sake of it (almost raw). I am assuming that they do not have a tandoor and that they didn't do a good job with heating stuff on the skewer either. Dal Makhni: Probably the worst dal makhni I've ever had. I literally went back in person to return it. I told them it smells burnt/rotten. They said they'd give me a new one, which was nice, but supposedly the 'new' one was just as rotten as the last one. The excuse given by the waiter there (who was polite tbh) was that "it's the puree, and its supposed to taste like this. We have it here everyday". I am from delhi and have had dal makhni all my life, never has it tasted anywhere near that. They genuinely need to change their attitude on how their food tastes. The one thing that I did like was the Kheer, which ironically, i think was complimentary. For a place that prides itself for its north indian/punjabi food, they need to make strides to even come close to justifying it and for starters serve customers at-least something that is fresh. For the price that they sell things they need to be doing so much better or else it's just grifting customers off their money. read more

If you're brave enough to walk in to this joint after how it looks on the outside, you either know how good the food is or you don't care how bad the food is. The good news is that the food is awesome. Awesome enough to make you overlook the drab appearance on the outside. The menu is fairly small so you can't really go "wrong" with anything here. As the name suggests, the parathas are great. They are soft and fresh. We tried the gobi paratha and the mutton keema paratha. These came with yogurt and would have been very good just with that. We also got an order of the butter chicken which was absolutely smashing. The portions are larger than you'd expect and it is definitely good value for money. The lassi here deserves a special mention. One of the best I've had this side of the pond. Some things like a $20 minimum per credit card and the awful restrooms are the only reasons this got a 4. The food is definitely a win read more

Oh how the mighty have fallen. That's how my good friend Dennis M. wanted me to start this review. It was years ago that he discovered Paratha Junction, back when they were located where Curry On currently stands. It had been where he (and later I) first had Indian food. Years ago, we'd come late nights when we had a craving for Indian. Fast forward to yesterday, where we found ourselves craving Indian food late in the night. I thought we take a trip down memory lane and revisit Paratha Junction. Walked into the new place (after accidentally walking into the old place) and noticed it's much smaller. It also lacks the late night chill spot vibe the previous location had. I went with the Atom Bomb and paneer tikka masala. The Atom Bomb was unimpressive, two flavorless parathas sandwiching an ensemble of vegetables and chillies that don't taste well with each other. The tikka masala would be decent if it didn't make you feel like throwing up a half hour after eating it. It's exactly at this point that one of my friends noticing a restaurant grade that reads "conditionally satisfactory". I left my leftovers and Dennis M. left his by some trash outside (after some consideration). I give this place an extra star only because it's open late and cheap. I'll now end my review with some quotes of the night (at the request of my two friends who endured this meal with me): "Let's never eat here again" - upon seeing the health grade "My leftovers are where they belong, the trash" "I was as disappointed with this food as my mother was with me when I came out the closet" read more

Again, I wish there were half stars! This is usually my go to Indian joint when I have a craving, I've been going here since I was in HS. My go to was always chicken tikka masala or buttered chicken. I remembered it being super creamy and amazing a few years back. Today's experience, the chicken tasted delicious, but the sauce wasn't as creamy, and it was definitely more tomato this time. My SO got the chicken biriyani, he isn't keen on Indian food. But I did have a few bites and it definitely wasn't the best I've had here. The bathroom was a little bit eh as well. Smelt like the 7th circle of hell of every animal dying in there with no soap. It was a so-so experience, I'll probably try a different place next time to keep my options open. read more
