Living around historic downtown, this is the closest area for our cravings. As alluded to above, the place is basically cafeteria-style. You order up front and wait for the food to be ready. You pick it up in paper plates and then you eat. The place inside isn't really that clean and on some days, don't expect A/C, but I guess that's the territory we are in. The moong dal vada was good, but quite spicy. Perhaps a bit too much. The onions somehow helped offset the spice a bit. The onion rava masala dosa was actually pretty good. Very generous portion too. Mango lassi took longer to arrive than our food. It was good, but that seemed weird. Place might need to focus a bit more on hygiene as this area gentrifies further and further. Parking is around the area in lots. Sadly, my old car effectively died in a nearby parking lot and now this restaurant is indirectly associated with that tragedy.

What bothered me was that they changed status from preparing to wrapping up indicating that they were ready to hand it over to the delivery partner. The first person reached and waited over five minutes and left. Then I saw someone else was designated and the poor guy waited over 30 mins and was nice enough to stick around when he didn't have to. And the restaurant kept stalling and telling him it will be another 10 mins. My issue is not that they took long, I understand make good quality food takes time and I am fine with that. But then don't miscommunicate and make a delivery person wait around impacting his income. I hope they improve their operations and communicate accurately. I ordered samosa chaat, chicken biryani, naan and a lassi. The food came out quicker than I expected however didn't seem to suffer in quality. I really loved the food here. The flavors are complex and not muddled. The rice was fluffy and not oily. And the presentation and packaging done with care. I should warn those of you who may be more susceptible, the default spiciness level of the food seems to be in the medium-hot level so adjust you order accordingly. I would definitely eat here again and likely dine in given the ambiance of the restaurant. 9.5/10

We tried their original samosa chaat, and wow--it was absolutely delicious. The portion size was amazing for the price! We visited again and this time tried the aloo paratha along with their samosa chaat. The aloo paratha is made from scratch and tasted wonderful. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try.
