Slow service for a weekday lunch. The restaurant was decently packed with other diners, though, who probably opted for their lunch meal deals. The aesthetics of the place is very modest and simple. I ordered the mixed non-veg tandoori platter and the quality and flavors were pretty decent. A highly satisfactory tandoori experience! The tandoori chicken was better than most places.

Decent Indian food with nice decor and outstanding service. We visited Amiya two times in April 2024 with colleagues for a team lunch. The place looks great, with a simple but nice aesthetic decor and ambient lighting. It felt really pleasant to be in. First time we opted for a lunch special. It included a small appetizer bar: Dosa (Indian crepe) with potato filling was very good and smooth. Lentil/vegetable soup was good, mildly spicy, and warm. It had however celery or lemongrass or some other stalks in it that were not chewable and had to be spitted out. I'm sure the soup would be great without this. Potato/lentil doughnut was deep-fried, unremarkable, quite tasteless. The main course was a platter with a choice of two dishes. I got Lamb platter with Chicken Xacuti. It was served with fresh warm naan bread and some cooked coconut flakes as a side. Naan was perfect. Coconut was interesting and nicely accompanied the main dish. The lamb was something like lamb korma, tasty and flavorful, though very mild. Some pieces were very tender, melting in the mouth, but some were hardly chewable. Chicken Xacuti unfortunately was a complete disappointment. Pieces of boiled tasteless chicken breast just mixed into some sauce and immediately served. It certainly didn't taste like a properly cooked dish with all the flavors combined and blended. Looks like they tried to cut corners on this one. The second time we ordered from the main menu and it was a big difference in food quality. Appetizers Vegetarian Sampler Platter - it was good as it's supposed to be. All items were deep-fried which I'm not a fan of but it's my personal taste. The dish was good. Coriander Soup with Mushrooms and Chicken - the soup itself was excellent, warming up, with the right spice level. The mushrooms didn't belong there at all though. They were tasteless and slimy and soup would be much better without them. Alternatively, the mushroom could sauteed or roasted before adding to the soup. Mains Paneer Kadaai - excellent and delicious! It had very interesting flavor combo and was mildly spicy. Lamb Rogan Josh - also excellent, smooth, flavorful, and tasty. The lamb was fully cooked, soft and tender, melting in the mouth how it's supposed to be. I asked to make it as spicy as possible, but it came milder than Paneer Kadaai which was ordered as mild as possible :) Oh, well... It was good anyway. The service was excellent: polite, quick, very attentive. Empty plates, used napkins, and utensils were removed and replaced promptly. Overall, I would rate Amiya 4 at this point. It's ok for a medium grade Indian food in a nice atmosphere but not if you are looking for a full taste palette Indian cuisine has to offer. If you are looking for a much better food quality, I recommend ordering from the main menu rather than lunch special.

We got takeout from Amiya and let me tell you, it was awesome! My top picks were the Coriander Shorba with Chicken and the Black Pepper Chili Chicken - both had incredible flavors that we enjoyed. The Shaam Savera was pretty good - it's like a version of Malai Kofta, which was interesting - and the Desi Chicken Curry was flavorful but not the best we had in NY/NJ. The food was fine overall, and we enjoyed it.

Amiya is our go-to Sunday takeout spot. The food is delicious, and the staff are courteous. We have also eaten in and have enjoyed a great meal. So tasty!

What an excellent choice we made!! Traveling once again and discovered this gem 30 minutes before the afternoon closing. We were welcomed very kindly and enjoyed this dine thoroughly. Service was wonderful and the atmosphere and decor were lovely. We enjoyed the lunch special Fish Platter and the Vegetable Platter. There is a self serve appetizer area included with the lunch specials along with a dessert. We did not opt for the dessert since we did not want to keep the staff waiting for us since the lunch hours ended at 2:45. Like already mentioned.....an excellent choice.

Impeccable food, great drinks and top notch hospitality from the staff, especially Nitin and the Manager, Tushar. This restaurant is perfect for date nights, family lunches and dinners, and even just solo dates when you're craving some great Indian flavours in Jersey City. The location is quite convenient too!

    Kali Mirch Ka Tikka

We have been ordering from here for quite sometime but portion have reduce significantly! This dish is $15 plus tax plus delivery charge - kaali mirch tikka . Last month there were big 8-9 chunks of chicken. Now it's small 5 pieces. Make sure to call and ask them about portions.

Tucked into the Financial District, this spot blends old New York history with some of the best cocktails in the city--and it's easy to see why it's been named "World's Best Bar" more than once. The name itself has a wild backstory, inspired by a notorious 19th-century Irish-American gang from Five Points. It adds a layer of character to the place, but what really keeps people coming back is the atmosphere and the drinks. The space is split into two levels: a two lively, sawdust-floored Taprooms downstairs and a more refined Parlor upstairs if you're in the mood for a quieter, cocktail-focused experience. Drinks are the real highlight here. The Irish Coffee is widely considered one of the best in the world--rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced with whiskey, coffee, and fresh cream. They also get creative with variations like a frozen version and even an Irish Coffee martini. If you want something different, the "Act Naturally" is a standout, mixing Irish whiskey with Guinness and fig in a way that works. Food is just as impressive for a bar. The lobster deviled eggs (topped with caviar) are a must-try, and the menu leans into elevated comfort food. Overall, The Dead Rabbit nails the balance between historic charm and modern cocktail excellence. The D.R. is one of those places that is never boring and consistently delivers.

We wanted to have after-dinner cocktails in a chill space, so we searched on our phones & saw Paradise Lost address via Google. We proceeded to walk down & was unable to find the establishment due to their being no front sign. After walking back & forth a few times, we saw another group walking towards the door & they confirmed the place. We walked inside the front door pressed a "doorbell" & lo & behold we gained entry after the previous group went inside. Definitely an incognito entrance. Once inside that door there is someone to greet you, & take your information. There is a forest/ grass/ jungle-looking foyer/ hallway we walked down to get to the next door. Before we knew it, we were near the "Paradise Lost No Vacancy" neon sign w/ an arrow pointing towards the snake-shaped knob door. It gets opened & a supercool speakeasy awaits.... Paradise Lost has mixed style table / seating arrangements throughout the place. A bar seating section, booth-style seating area, lounge- style seating area, etc. We got there a little after 7pm, so the afterwork crowd was in full swing. Paradise Lost has interesting atmosphere. At times a Gothic / Medieval Vibe, meets place w/ shipwreck decor, meets eleganct /club vibe w/ beautiful ceiling lighting, etc. Music played in the background. Staff are friendly, energetic, & attentive. We were pleasantly overwhelmed w/ the vast selection of tiki cocktails that were on the menu. Paradise Lost also have an intimate selection of snacks/ food menu items. This included Popcorn, Tater Tots, Devilled Eggs Rangoon Dip, etc. We ordered some cocktails served in unique tiki mugs & a bucket of popcorn to munch on w/ our drinks. The popcorn is flavored w/ Sea Buckthorn & Browm Butter, which gave it an special flavor profile. Our cocktails were well-prepared & nice & strong. Paradise Lost has individual unisex bathroom stalls & a communal vanity & sink area. The bathroom stalls have spooky voices coming from a speaker as you use the bathroom. I was so humorously taken aback, it had me laughing when I came out...Definitely a different thing to experience in the bathroom - lol. Before we left we watched one of the bartenders do a cocktail "fire" presentation for some patrons in a booth seated area. Wow.... Paradise Lost accepts walk-ins only, no reservations. The front part where you first walk in is the bar area with some tables. This restaurant is on the darker side and brings you back in time. Once you walk in further that is where the main dinning room is. This is also on the darker side as you can maybe tell by my photos. The wall paper and art around the restaurant is cool and there are some monkey statues around the restaurant. I was seated in a corner table in a booth area that seemed to be for at least 2-3 people. I thought for sure they would seat me at the bar area. I had a wonderful waitress whose name I think was Taylor but I could be wrong. I ordered the Monkey bread to start off with. It's a very buttery bread with truffle and parm cheese on top. I have alot of allergies and I was searching online if I could even have truffles as I have a nut allergy. So, I asked the waitress and she said she had never heard this. But, she came back to me and told me that White truffle grows near or like over where Almonds grow from but that, they don't use white truffle so I was all good. Well, this was super nice of her to check for me. I had no idea she was going to do this. She said the restaurant has strict protocols when it comes to food allergies. I then got for my main dish the double cheese burger with onions and pickles. To drink I had the cucumber martini. WOW everything was pretty darn good!! I passed on dessert. We started with drinks, and mine ended up being a surprise standout. I ordered the coconut margarita, slightly hesitant since I'm not usually a margarita fan--but it completely won me over. It struck a perfect balance and leaned just enough into the coconut to make it feel unique without being overpowering. My sister-in-law, who's pregnant, had a non-alcoholic Ritual margarita and loved it, noting how convincingly it mimicked the real thing. Since we were sharing, we got to try a good mix of the menu. The monkey bread came first--definitely a splurge at $34, but it's one of those fun, indulgent starters that's worth ordering at least once. While I wouldn't call it the best bread I've ever had, I also wouldn't change anything about it. The crab rangoon was another highlight. Having it made with real crab made a noticeable difference, and the dipping sauces complemented it really well. It felt like a more elevated take on something familiar. For mains, the French dip was a hit. The meat was incredibly tender, the bread had that ideal crusty exterior, and the au jus was packed with flavor--I was very glad I ordered extra. It pulled the whole dish together. We also tried the smoked whitefish Caesar, which was the only dish that didn't quite land for me. It was a well-made, fresh salad, but the smoked fish flavor was a bit overpowering and took over the balance of the dish. Even though we were too full for dessert, the restaurant surprised us with a scoop of strawberry ice cream with chocolate sauce to celebrate my sister-in-law's babymoon. It ended up being one of the most memorable bites of the meal--we're still talking about how good that ice cream was. We arrived right at 11:45, and by the time we left, the place was absolutely buzzing. It's clearly a popular spot, and for good reason. Between the lively atmosphere, strong service, and well-executed food, I'd highly recommend making a reservation if you can.

Our friends raved about this place and we of course were excited (and a bit skeptical at first) to try it. The concept: no menu + no lights + a few questions = the ultimate cocktail experience. The speakeasy vibe and the dark ambiance really makes this place feel even more exclusive. With just a few tables and the bar setting, you're in for an experience you won't forget (unless you answer the wrong questions and really end up with a drink you don't like HA). This wasn't my case. Of course I described my two favorite things: Negroni + mezcal. The obvious answer would be a mezcal Negroni, but that's not why one comes to a place like Attaboy. Our amazing curator came by to ask us all a few questions, write down a few words in the napkins, and mix up the perfect drink that our master bartender crafts, curates and creates. My drink came as I couldn't possibly imagine. It looked like a Negroni smelled like Oaxaca, with all the smoke simmering up and preparing my sensory experience, leading to the best first sip. Ladies and gentleman, I introduce you to The Devil's Backbone. A perfectly balanced drink I'll never forget, one that is sipped slowly and enjoyed thoroughly. It's sexy, it's smoky it's sipped. Attaboy gave the best mixology experience and we can't wait to be back. Pro tip: be sure to be as vocal as possible, even with ice, so you don't end up with a tiki drink if that's not your vibe.

He called us to let us know our table was ready but we missed the call (our fault). We returned the call immediately and got there within a couple minutes anyway. I sipped away an Old-Fashioned in my souvenir Wicked cup while singing along to the Wicked soundtrack and making a friendship bracelet for my daughter. This experience was relaxing and joyful so now I know my type of party consists of a craft night. Close to the end of the night, I participated in a Wicked costume contest. I lost but nevertheless, I had a good time. Ended the night with an order of burger before heading home to show off my creations. I can't wait to check out their other events and come here again!

Mood lighting, comfortable seating, great drinks in a cozy and Victorian-inspired space are the perfect blend of unique and. I always felt like I was part of something special the few times enjoyed creative, delicious, and strong libations from the pros at the bar. While it has always been pricey, I do feel like the excellent service ambiance, and drink quality warrant this, but may prevent more folks from becoming regulars so to speak. He'll be the only person on the street, so no worries about missing him! The menu has changed over the years, but the quality has not. The bartenders are social and personable.
