So I will fully disclose that I did not have any business done with Paramount Builders. Therefore I cannot speak to the quality of their product/services. What I can speak to is my experience with them and why I would not recommend them. So I had them come out for an estimate to replace a couple of windows that the seals have gone bad. The salesman was very nice and professional. He gave a pretty impressive presentation of the quality of the window. No doubt these windows are of very nice quality. So he gives me a quote to replace the four windows. Can't remember the exact price but it was right at $8000 dollars. Now, I thought this was high but one of the windows was a half moon window so I figured that that would cost more, but still very high in my opinion. Well lucky for me, if I booked today I could get it for around $7300! Only today though, cuz you know according to them the price of pvc goes up (yea okay) and they need to come out and take new measurements again if I don't book today (you don't save measurements? Do my windows change in size? Yea okay, how stupid do you think people are?). So I knew from then on out this company was full of crap. Now, this alone would not inspire me to write a negative review at all. The salesman was very nice and hey he's just trying to get a commission, I get that. What drove me to write a review is my experience after. So, I always do my homework and get a couple of estimates. I decided to give Window World and the Glass Doctor calls and they gave me estimates. They both quoted me about $4600 for the four windows, PLUS THREE ADDITIONAL WINDOWS. So, half the price of paramount for an additional three windows. Well, I talked to both of them and they upfront claimed that their windows would not be as energy efficient as paramount. So I ask them do I really need that high of efficiency/quality with my windows? They both advised me not to, even tho they would set to gain more money by selling me the higher grade windows. Just curious, I asked them the difference for all of my windows with the triple pane krypton gas (what paramount sells) compared to the double pane energy efficient ones I would go with, and they said that's an extra $1200. Ok, so $5800 for the same exact window quality (maybe give paramount a SLIGHT advantage still for quality) compared to $7300/$8000 WITH THREE EXTRA WINDOWS. WOW! So at that point I decided to go with Window World. Well guess what, now paramount wants to earn my business! They call saying they can send some "district sales rep" or something to give me a new estimate "at cost" as long as they let me put a sign in my yard. I tell them you have my window measurements, I'm not interested in having someone else come out, so give me your price and I'll consider it. They respond that "well the measurements may be different so he needs to come out." Seriously? I'm not the smartest person in the world but who believes this BS? So at that point I tell them I'm not interested and I expect a company to give me a fair and honest price upfront with me, cuz guess what, I am sure they would have taken my $7300/$8000 if I folded when they first came out! Ok, pissed but not at the point of writing a negative Yelp review.....until.....They proceed to call me another time and give the same BS sales pitch after I told them I wasn't interested. Same BS about a district manager and same BS about measurements! Since they felt the need to call me back a second time after I told them I was not interested, I took the time to write this review, otherwise I wouldn't have wasted my time. I suspect the reason why the "district guy" has to come out is so that he can get credit for selling the windows to me( he doesn't make commission) and gyp the salesman out of his commission to give me a lower price, which is so dishonest to me. But hey, can't be for sure. That was my experience. Make sure you always get several estimates and don't let this company price gauge you. read more
