I used to go here a lot but that was also 10 years ago. I was in the area with my sis and we thought we'd try it out again. We shared fajitas and they were so bad. It came out looking bland and like it was boiled or pan fried but I thought I'd power through and give it a go. I bit into a piece of raw chicken. Like really really raw. My sister tried the steak in the fajita and it was like boiled meat. She couldn't even bite into it. We instantly flagged our server down. She was very very sweet and agreed to take it off our bill. The owners are working there everyday and are super friendly. They have been in same location for 25 plus years and are the best around. They have the best Carne Asada, chicken tortilla soup, and chicken enchiladas with chili verde. Have been dining there since they opened. We were greeted and seated quickly and in a welcoming manner. The restaurant has the typical busy and colorful decor. Drinks were offered quickly. The margarita choices were awesome. I chose mixed berry, which was delicious. The chips were crispy, but unremarkable. The salsa was spicy. The pico de gallo also was fresh and spicy. Out of a chimichanga platter, an enchilada platter, and some fajitas, we just found the food bland. It looked much better than it ended up tasting. It was somewhat spicy hot, but it just lacked a robust flavor leaving us disappointed. First time there today. I had the tortilla soup, super yummy broth, loaded with lots of fresh avocado, chicken and cheese!! Love the chips and salsa they offer and they refilled the salsa and water glasses without being asked! The atmosphere is not modern but the place seems clean and the food is tasty. Food was TERRIBLE!! I had ordered beef tacos and got chicken instead and they were soaked in water. Might as well dip it in the ocean it was over salted and hand it to me. They sat us down and didn't offer anything to drink waited until they took our order. All of our food had absolutely no flavor. Manager was understanding and extremely nice but all the waitresses and waiters seemed like they didn't give a crap about us or good service. We all feel really sick after this experience. We don't understand the rationale for the low reviews. ---Regarding Low Reviews--- The restrooms were clean. The Pico De Gallo was delicious and well worth the price and my bill was accurate. ---Hospitality and Service--- Great hospitality and service. Two of my friends and I come here every Wednesday night after we get done working. It is our highlight of the week. Veronica is our waitress and she has made our experience here over-the-top! Sometimes she see's our cars pull in and puts menus down at our favorite table. She offered us one of Paraiso's best items, Mesa Guacamole. Wow! This appetizer is amazing. They bring it to your table and mix it there. Veronica is so charming and friendly and relatable. She makes us feel like family. We not only have amazing food and drinks dining here but we feel super welcome! A few tips for you: - When you open the door to the restaurant or bar, say "Good Morning". Decided to try this place as its a "fan favorite" for the kids. It is out of the way for me, as there are 8 other Mexican places within a 5 mile radius of me. This one was 30. I ordered via phone. The order was typical ( I am pretty fluent with ordering via cell. (Thank you COVID). But yet it took over 20 minutes to get this order complete. I felt like I was filling out a home loan. I can hear a lot of ruckus going on in the back ground and am assuming the person on the other end was trying to multi-task. I had to dig deep down into the 'bowels of patience' to get this done. And that was very arduous in terms of having to reiterate my request several time! Then came time to pay, via credit card. I am giving out my Cc numbers and the person on the other end was reciting my credit card numbers. exp and code outload. Despite my repeated attempt to ask her to stop. Normally, I stop (and ask them to quit it) and if it continues, I hang up. But my kids where so looking forward to having take out from this place, I grit my teeth and beard with it, with the hopes she wasn't on intercom or was holding bull horn. The person was confused and gave the phone to someone else to complete the transaction. After hanging up, I safeguarded my account. We got the order and headed home. Needless to say, the order was incomplete. If you are looking for the all-important chips and salsa to compliment your dinner, you will not find it here. We were left chip-less in Seattle. I've been going here since I was a kid. For something like 10 years. It has been my favorite Mexican restaurant that entire time. Now, they start charging $1.50ish for a pitiful plate of pico de gallo. Next, they take away the table-side guac and charge $4 for a small scoop of peas and sour cream (clearly not even a full avocado). So I think, alright the prices have increased, surely the food is the same. Nope, smaller portions. A super burrito at any other restaurant is so much larger. The tortilla was even chewy. Been to Paraiso a few times now. And always a good experience. I go whenever I want to meet my friends from the north and it's a good place to meet up. We went on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch. Got seated right away and the waitress in the beginning was very attentive. I hadn't met my friend in ages so we started catching up once we got seated and the waitress came by multiple times asked if we were ready and we apologized and were like "omg no we are sorry we got stuck talking"... once we finally did order and got our meals and started eating, we weren't checked up on as much... which was weird. Not as many water refills or anything and we received our bill pretty quick. But the food was great. Got the chicken fajita burrito with no sour cream. This place has sure declined in both service and food. The staff used to be pretty friendly and inviting and now they don't even smile. Our waiter this evening ROLLED HIS EYES at me when I told him I only wanted ice water to drink. Unbelievable. Not even one minute had passed before he was already back at our table to take our food order. We told him we hadn't even hardly opened up our menus so we needed more time. One minute later he was back again and when we still weren't ready, he gave us an attitude and said "how about you just put your menus down on the table when you are ready to order." DUH. Then we watched him walk outside in the front parking lot to smoke a cigarette. 10 minutes later he comes back in to finally take our food order smelling like an ashtray. I ordered a combination plate with 3 items you usually cannot go wrong with but unfortunately all 3 items went wrong. I asked for shredded chicken in the enchilada and tamale. I got dry, old chicken in the enchilada and shredded beef in the tamale which almost made me throw up because it had a moldy, rancid taste. The relleno batter was soggy, cold and under-fried and the chile inside was mushy and a very strange light green color not like any chile relleno I've ever had before. It also was missing cheese which was a huge disappointment in itself. Gross food. Just gross. With so many delicious Mexican restaurants around, why would I come back here to spend my money? My car was getting work done at the Les Schwab close so I decided to skip their popcorn and have a "real" lunch. I noticed a sign out front that due to credit card processing fees that cash payments got a near 4% discount. Ok. I felt that was fair. However, when we sat down the menu stated that unless we were paying cash our cost would be the additional 4% added to our check. I'm pretty sure that is against the processing agreements with MasterCard and Visa. C'mon just raise prices and reprint the menus. There was not a lunch menu. The food was "meh". My husband questioned if the chicken in his taco was even spiced. Pretty bland. The decor is a step beyond the usual Mexican restaurant kitsch. Lots of artificial plants. This place has been a favorite of mine for a long while, they make hot fresh handmade tortillas for you when you walk in and the food has always been very good. They have happy hour specials, 1$ tacos, great atmosphere, and very friendly staff! The only complaint I have is the price has gone up significantly in the past couple years and now every entree is 20$+ it seems, where they used to be 10-15$. Just a fact I want every customer that enters into PARASIOS at Smokey Point to be aware of. They are requiring the customers to order from the online menu which quotes a price, seems convenient right. However when they check you out it's from the register which is programmed with a higher price then what the on line menu quotes. The waiter overcharged me by $5.00 and admitted that the computer changes the prices but said it was because I changed my order. Not true and he wanted to have me go to the inside register to view the higher price. That is clearly False advertisement and on top of that the food was terrible.
