This place is cute and the ambience is relaxed and welcoming. The staff are friendly and greeted us with enthusiasm even when we entered close to closing. It was late in a long day out and La Hacienda was thankfully open while most places seemed to be closed by 9pm. Chips and salsa were brought to our table of 4 right as we sat down. We were given menus right away and offered waters. The chips and salsa aren't anything to write home about but, for a complimentary item, I won't complain and it's always appreciated. I ordered the 4 tacos, thinking that they were going to be street style tacos and I was a bit disappointed that they were served in hard shells. I've never been a fan of "crunchy" tacos and I did not assume a Mexican cuisine centered restaurant would serve "hard" tacos. I guess that's on me for not reading the menu closely enough. My wife ordered the taco salad which was arguably better and more of what you expect when you order an item by that name. Value for what you're ordering, the prices are fair and the food is "good" and will do in a pinch. It's your more vanilla version of Mexican food but if you don't mind another take on Tex-mex then the service and ambience make this a nice place to visit.

We met friends here for dinner. I've been here before and been disappointed but willing to give it another shot. I had the carne asada burrito. It was good, but filled with more beans than steak. My husband had the pork carnitas. He was disappointed. It had no flavor. Our friends had carne asada and said it was delicious! They also had the molcajetes. Now, that was a hit. We all tried it and loved it. I guess if you order correctly, this place can be terrific. I plan to go back and give other items a try. Service was fantastic and the restaurant was clean and welcoming.

Fish tacos - 6/10 Chips & salsa - 4/10 Guacamole - 8/10 Service - 6/10 I'm from Texas. Moved to the area not too long ago and the acquaintances I've made tend to come here regularly. I decided to give this place a try. I will say that the guacamole was the game changer for me. I would definitely order the guacamole and just eat that if I could. The fish tacos weren't bad but they weren't seasoned enough for my liking. If I were to get them again I would try them with flour tortillas, instead of corn. The good thing is that the menu here is extensive. So, I'll definitely be trying something different next time. An acquaintance had the Molcajete and it looked sooo good except it had chicken in it, and I'm a pescatarian. But he said he would get it with shrimp next time. Soooo we shall see. Service was good. They were all very friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a nice family friendly energy and I would definitely be a regular here. Overall the restaurant has a nostalgic feel to it. It's like catching up with that one close friend you haven't seen in 10 years, and the entire time you just can't stop smiling.

Best Mexican food in town! Always super quick, whether we place a pick up, or dine in. Also their margaritas are a must have.

This is my first time visiting this location…read more We are in need of finding a restaurant that was at the halfway point. I knew my family member enjoyed Mexican so I found this location. It's kind of hidden gem, as it's very easy to drive right past. Everything was excellent. From the chips and salsa, to the shrimp ceviche appetizer. Will definitely be back in the near future.

We stopped in for dinner the other night before attending an event nearby. (Side note: if I'd known…read morehow much food was going to be at the event, I'd have skipped dinner altogether!) This is a cute little spot that's a bit off the beaten path. It's a large space, with a separate bar and two distinct restaurant seating areas. The place was very clean and decorated with festival wall murals (plus some lovely Christmas decor). We decided to order a couple of beers and split their relleno/enchilada/tamale combo. While we sipped our beers, we munched on some chips and their tasty homemade salsa. Soon, the food arrived. I have to say, it wasn't the most visually appealing plating I've ever experienced. Everything was brown and beige. I guess you don't realize how nice a little green garnish is until you don't get one. This plate could definitely have used a little dollop of pico de gallo or some guacamole. The food was disappointingly just "okay." It was definitely the heavily americanized Mexican food that seems very common around these parts: served on a too-hot-to-touch plate and loaded with lots of cheese. The relleno was the best part of the combo. The tamale was passable and the enchilada lacked much flavor at all. The service was friendly and fast, which we appreciated. What I didn't appreciate was, when I paid and the screen gave me the usual tipping options, the suggested tip STARTED at 25%! The options were 25%, 30%, 35%, and 40%. I mean, the service was good, but 40%?!?! Seemed quite over-the-top and honestly it was a little offensive (and I consider myself a pretty good tipper, usually tipping at least 20-25%). Maybe it's a minor detail, but it's still stuck in my head. I'd probably go back here again if I was in the area; but would try something different to eat.

A former co worker of mine loved tis BBQ place in Florida that operated from a trailer on the side…read moreof the road. I'm not a BBQ fan, so I never ate there, but I'll never forget a Yelp review that said, "This is the best BBQ place in a mobile home on the side of the road". It made me laugh and I teased him every time we were in Panama City. When I heard about this place inside of a gas station, I was reluctant, but when we arrived, the gas station was new, modern and clean. The taqueria was large and the menu had all of the staples you would expect in a typical family Mexican place. The special was an enchilada, tostada and rice and bean for $10. I'll repeat TEN DOLLARS. This also came with chips and salsa. I hate to say it, but this was the best Mexican food in a gas station on the side of a road anywhere. Truth is, the food was just really good and the price was unbeatable. I ended up doing something I never do, and that is double dip, after that plate, I ordered 2 tacos. I probably should have stuck with one, because the special was enough, but the flavor and price was so good, I couldn't leave without getting a bigger taste. I don't know if it was brother sister, husband and wife or father and daughter, but the man was cooking and the women was taking orders and serving. This is an area I probably get to once a year, at best, but I would not hesitate to wonder off the beaten path to return. This was some of the best Mexican food I've had in some time and more proof that too many other restaurants are over charging for far worse fare.

Food came out super fast - about 5 minutes…read more Service was really friendly. Cool vibes inside the gas station. Will be back to try more of the menu! My enchilada and tostada came out really yummy and it was the special of the day so only $9!
