Lackluster service borderline hostile. Food bland and uninteresting. Lunch was $17. No drink. I don't know what it is but got very ill after.. don't know that there's any great food options in town .. we liked the Bowling Alley.

Playa Bonita in Arlington was great! We were greated right away and shown a table. A server took our drink order and someone brought us chips, salsa, and beans. The server was so nice and friendly and she made us laugh. She kept coming back to check on us to make sure we didn't need anything. The carne asada burrito was really great. The green sauce was also very mild. The kids enjoyed the quesadillas and beans. The margaritas were also really good. Baby was able to sleep through lunch and it wasn't very noisy at lunch time after church. We will definitely be back to try more of their menu soon.

Our second run going to this restaurant in route home after a weekend of camping. Definitely has mom & pop vibes and staff has always been great - friendly, respectful & attentive. Food is your typical Mexican restaurant but branched out for a lighter Tijuana salad with shrimp and for a light lunch was enough for my hubby and I to share. The shrimp was perfectly grilled - definitely recommend Ticket came out to ~$30 for two kids meals and the salad. The kiddos each took half their meals home, so great value for us!!!

We were in Arlington for the night. It was late but we were very hungry so we looked through Yelp to find a restaurant close to our hotel that was still open at 8:pm. Yelp lead us to Playa Bonita and we are so happy it did. It was on the Main Street of old Arlington but it had easy parking on the side of the building. Right next to a quilt store that I had visited before but we had not been to the restaurant. We got to pick our own seats and the service was wonderful. Both the waitress and the bus person were very friendly and helpful. They gladly changed up the menu for us as we don't eat meat. The best part was the Mole. We have traveled all over Mexico and I alway have the mole. Usually it is chicken mole but now that I don't eat chicken, they made it with prawns for me. It was hands down the best mole I have had in the states and even better than a lot I had in Mexico! Hats off to the chef. Plus they had delicious desserts! Not just flan and churros but lava cake, cheese cake, and several others. Next time I'm on shop hopping I am planning to stop here again. Thank you all so much!

Tasty enchiladas with chicken onions and cheese as I specially ordered. Great service and efficient!

Good Mexican spot in Arlington, friendly service, and they give you free chips with fresh salsa and bean dip which is very good. Got the Tijuana salad with grilled shrimp, which was great. Kids got beef mexican pizza and chicken enchilada plates, each with rice and beans and it was a pretty large portion for these dishes.

We love going to Playa Bonita. The enchilada is good, and my partner is a big fan of their margaritas. I like that they have complimentary beans along with chips and salsa. We'll be back soon.

Labor Day 2019. We were on one of our photography adventures up in Darrington. On our way home we got hungry and decided to stop in Arlington for dinner. We found Playa Bonita, one of the few places open. It doesn't look like a chain restaurant, so we decided to stop. We were seated right of way. Lots of voices in the back. Not rowdy, but people having a good time. I assume there is a bar in the back. I was right. I ordered an avocado tostada with no meat and extra avocados. Husband ordered a vegetarian spinach enchilada. The waiter brought a basket of tortillas chips, salsa, and a bean dip. I really liked the bean dip. I demonstrated it. We had to ask for more and the waiter was kind enough to bring us more chips too! Husband liked his meal, as did I. Everything was fresh & tasty. Waiter was pleasant. We will stop in again the next time we have another adventure in these parts!

Chips and dips were good. Rice and beans good. Tacos were terrible. My cheese wasn't even melted. Server didn't ask if I wanted soft or hard, guess I should have spoke up. Server was also not the greatest. Didn't ask me how I was doing or engage with me at all. Won't be back

Despite it being a busy holiday evening, we were seated immediately. The vibe was lively but comfortable, with most tables and the bar filled. Since we visited in February, we leaned heavily into their specials menu. We skipped the small plates and went straight for the mains: the Greek Salad with Steak, the Steak and Gorgonzola Flatbread, and the Vine Burger. Every dish was a hit, though my wife found the red wine vinaigrette on the salad to be just "okay" rather than great. For drinks, we stuck to the mocktails. We tried all three on the menu, and the Blueberry Mule (ginger beer based) was the undisputed winner. We'll have to come back for the cocktails another time since they looked promising! We capped the night with the Apple Blossom pastry with vanilla ice cream--it is a total "must-try." Overall, the service was courteous, the ambiance was spot-on, and parking was a breeze. We'll definitely be back!

The soup of the day was fantastic. A sausage, potato and kale soup. Warm, comforting and delicious! The salad was somewhat disappointing. I ordered the quinoa kale salad, with a citrus vinaigrette. There was a little quinoa and kale on top of a large amount of romaine. Not what I expected. It was also served stuffed into a small, tall sided bowl with the dressing on the side. How exactly are you supposed to dress it and eat it? My friend had the burger and fries. The burger was half the size of the bun. She literally removed 50% of the bun. It was also extremely well done. The fries were cold. They don't have decaf coffee, but I was able to order mint tea. It was brought in a cup that smelled like old coffee. The table had been cleared and I had no napkin and he didn't bring one with the tea. There was a slice of lemon I didn't want and I had no place to put it. There is potential here, I hope they pay more attention to providing a quality experience and food.

Hostess was very friendly as she checked us in for our reservation (easy to make online!) and our server gave great recommendations and was very attentive. The ambiance is upscale, low light to set a vibe, although there were people dressed-up as well as more casual so there is no dress code enforced (like some places in Vegas) but it's definitely a fancier place. We had a table facing the kitchen, they have a clear glass you can see thru and watch the chef, very cool! Both our meals were 10/10 delicious. We started with the Dungeness Crab Cakes appetizer, the flavor was amazing. Loved how they served 3 different sauces to try with it (found that quite unique I've never encountered that elsewhere), they were all very good. For my meal I ordered the Seared Scallops, the flavor of the dish was out of this world, and the scallops were cooked perfectly. My friend had the New York Steak & Prawns and she said it was delicious. The restaurant is on the pricier side, so it would be great for a date night or special celebration, or a lovely dinner before a concert if you enjoy delicious upscale cuisine. I will definitely be back again with my husband.

Our family dined here…read moreregularly and then slowly stopped coming as the food quality declined and prices rose over the years. Last night was the first time my husband and I have been in over 6 years so we figured we would go in with low expectations and give it another shot. Sadly, it met our low expectations. I will give it one star for the service (which has always been great!) and another star for the food which was ok at best. I would give it another half a star if I could because you are able to make reservations which at the busy Tulalip resort, is a huge perk. They give you a basic basket of rolls to start. They are the same rolls they offer you at Cedars Cafe at Tulalip. In the past it used to be these awesome artisan crackers and butter so its sad they don't do something fancy like that anymore.I ordered the salmon caesar and the portion was soooo small... for $48. Like 6 stalks of romaine and a tiny piece of salmon. My husband had a steak which was cooked nicely but flavor wise, it was nothing special. His plate had the saddest looking vegetables accompanying it. Which for the price, felt unacceptable. We tried a couple of the desserts and they were good and felt upscale, which matched the price and the vibe of the restaurant. Bottom line... don't waste your money here. Everything is so overpriced and the quality does not match the price tag at all. Cedars Cafe at Tulalip has WAY better food for half the cost.

Grand Buffet from the outside entrance has a humble vibe. There are no fountains or statues. And the bathrooms have a disinfectant quality in the air. Somewhat dated. Not oozing with warmth. But clean in my experience with a no frills way of washing hands before eating. The staff will seat you, but I typically will get the appetizers, then find a seat. The staff are usually quick to see if you don't have a glass and will take your order if you choose to start that way. With families, I'm sure having them seat you is preferred. And seating, even on a busy day, is not too difficult. I estimate seating for about 100 people is available. That's based on a tour bus with 44 Japanese tourists coming in for lunch and not having any difficulty finding seating for lunch. The tour guide said he always brings his customers there after crossing the border from Canada, where they arrived. I mentioned appetizers. In addition there are main dishes, sides, some American offerings (Fried chicken wings, Pacific oysters on the half shell, French fries, crab rangoon), fresh fruit, a variety of salads, salad bar, and desserts including soft serve ice cream. The typical soft drinks, hot tea, or bottled beer is available. Dinner frequently includes salt and pepper fried crab half's. You may miss them at lunch. Sometimes they only serve them for dinner. There is also a Mongolian grill at the back of the buffet, that offers meats (beef, pork) or seafood (shrimp), noodles, vegetables, and different sauces. This is manned by one of the staff to cook your food with your sauce preference. They use a hot flat top grill to cook your food right in front of you. If you have your heart set trying that and don't see any staff, just ask for help from one of the waitresses. To get the full experience do try something from each section. The main dishes have chicken, beef. pork, shrimp, crab, and imitation crab. Easily labeled and recognizable. Buffets are logistical nightmares with the common element of consistency being the goal. Seasoning can also present challenges when trying to make everyone happy. Over the years visiting this place, it's been consistently at the right temperature, seasoned appropriately, well maintained with all serving pans filled with food, and clean. The staff are rock solid. No deviation from being there making sure your glass is full and being polite and helpful. This week I chose a Friday at 3:34 PM. To my surprise the parking lot was half full. Usually there is a steep lull between lunch and dinner. That was the only surprise. Everything else was at a standard I expect. Which is why I come back. ADA parking and access. Parking is ample with overflow parking. As of January 2026 cost for Dinner, one adult: $20.75

It was mostly your standard Chinese fare, all cooked in one way or another: shrimp cooked about 6 different ways, beef and broccoli, a Mongolian grill - just pick your ingredients and bring it to them, as well as a small dessert bar including soft serve with cones! I left satisfied with the options and the price. It's a lot bigger inside and can accommodate large groups, if necessary. We brought in 30 and had our own section. There was still plenty of room and the server comes around refilling drinks regularly (pay for these separately from your dining bill), as well as brings the bill towards the end of your dining experience.
