Lackluster service borderline hostile. Food bland and uninteresting. Lunch was $17. No drink. I don't know what it is but got very ill after.. don't know that there's any great food options in town .. we liked the Bowling Alley.

Playa Bonita in Arlington was great! We were greated right away and shown a table. A server took our drink order and someone brought us chips, salsa, and beans. The server was so nice and friendly and she made us laugh. She kept coming back to check on us to make sure we didn't need anything. The carne asada burrito was really great. The green sauce was also very mild. The kids enjoyed the quesadillas and beans. The margaritas were also really good. Baby was able to sleep through lunch and it wasn't very noisy at lunch time after church. We will definitely be back to try more of their menu soon.

Our second run going to this restaurant in route home after a weekend of camping. Definitely has mom & pop vibes and staff has always been great - friendly, respectful & attentive. Food is your typical Mexican restaurant but branched out for a lighter Tijuana salad with shrimp and for a light lunch was enough for my hubby and I to share. The shrimp was perfectly grilled - definitely recommend Ticket came out to ~$30 for two kids meals and the salad. The kiddos each took half their meals home, so great value for us!!!

We were in Arlington for the night. It was late but we were very hungry so we looked through Yelp to find a restaurant close to our hotel that was still open at 8:pm. Yelp lead us to Playa Bonita and we are so happy it did. It was on the Main Street of old Arlington but it had easy parking on the side of the building. Right next to a quilt store that I had visited before but we had not been to the restaurant. We got to pick our own seats and the service was wonderful. Both the waitress and the bus person were very friendly and helpful. They gladly changed up the menu for us as we don't eat meat. The best part was the Mole. We have traveled all over Mexico and I alway have the mole. Usually it is chicken mole but now that I don't eat chicken, they made it with prawns for me. It was hands down the best mole I have had in the states and even better than a lot I had in Mexico! Hats off to the chef. Plus they had delicious desserts! Not just flan and churros but lava cake, cheese cake, and several others. Next time I'm on shop hopping I am planning to stop here again. Thank you all so much!

    Chicken enchilada lunch special!

Tasty enchiladas with chicken onions and cheese as I specially ordered. Great service and efficient!

Good Mexican spot in Arlington, friendly service, and they give you free chips with fresh salsa and bean dip which is very good. Got the Tijuana salad with grilled shrimp, which was great. Kids got beef mexican pizza and chicken enchilada plates, each with rice and beans and it was a pretty large portion for these dishes.

We love going to Playa Bonita. The enchilada is good, and my partner is a big fan of their margaritas. I like that they have complimentary beans along with chips and salsa. We'll be back soon.

Labor Day 2019. We were on one of our photography adventures up in Darrington. On our way home we got hungry and decided to stop in Arlington for dinner. We found Playa Bonita, one of the few places open. It doesn't look like a chain restaurant, so we decided to stop. We were seated right of way. Lots of voices in the back. Not rowdy, but people having a good time. I assume there is a bar in the back. I was right. I ordered an avocado tostada with no meat and extra avocados. Husband ordered a vegetarian spinach enchilada. The waiter brought a basket of tortillas chips, salsa, and a bean dip. I really liked the bean dip. I demonstrated it. We had to ask for more and the waiter was kind enough to bring us more chips too! Husband liked his meal, as did I. Everything was fresh & tasty. Waiter was pleasant. We will stop in again the next time we have another adventure in these parts!

Chips and dips were good. Rice and beans good. Tacos were terrible. My cheese wasn't even melted. Server didn't ask if I wanted soft or hard, guess I should have spoke up. Server was also not the greatest. Didn't ask me how I was doing or engage with me at all. Won't be back

3.5 stars. For $21.99 their Pork Carnitas plate was okay. Not bad but not great either. It was loaded with too much onions in the pork dish. If their intention was to cheat to make it look fuller then it actually ruined the experience.

The base for cooking birria can't be rushed it has to be cooked with love and allowed to develop the rich flavors of all the spices. My criteria are: 1 flavor development of the actual beef. 2 crispness of the taco itself. 3 balance of the all the ingredients inside the taco itself. 4 overall flavor and body of the consume. From my prior experiences I have had bland meat that was not seasoned properly or cooked too fast. Greasy limp tacos dipped in greasy consume that tastes like soup stock. I can always tell when the beef has been rushed. Tacos la mas fregona has hit a home run in all categories. Beef slow cooked with love, crispy tacos with perfectly balanced additions love the pickled red onions on the side. Acid plays a critical role in overall balance of any food. A lot of vendors missed this important staple. The consume was spot on. Great flavor and body without being overly salty and there was just enough oil to add to the over body and flavor without over powering it and turning it into a greasy mess. Very well done! I have finally found what I have been searching for! Oh yah and the owner is super friendly. Very nice lady.

The meal and service were good. Pretty standard Mexican fare with rice, beans, chips, and salsa. When paying you get to use their iPad. The pre-determined tips START at 25% and go to 40. Rarely do I get a meal that's worth 30%, anywhere, and nowhere has a meal been worth a 40% tip. I havent had a meal at Paraiso that was worth a 25% tip. Yes, you can enter a custom tip. This is a cute little spot that's a bit off the beaten path. It's a large space, with a separate bar and two distinct restaurant seating areas. The place was very clean and decorated with festival wall murals (plus some lovely Christmas decor). We decided to order a couple of beers and split their relleno/enchilada/tamale combo. While we sipped our beers, we munched on some chips and their tasty homemade salsa. Soon, the food arrived. I have to say, it wasn't the most visually appealing plating I've ever experienced. Everything was brown and beige. I guess you don't realize how nice a little green garnish is until you don't get one. This plate could definitely have used a little dollop of pico de gallo or some guacamole. The food was disappointingly just "okay." It was definitely the heavily americanized Mexican food that seems very common around these parts: served on a too-hot-to-touch plate and loaded with lots of cheese. The relleno was the best part of the combo. The tamale was passable and the enchilada lacked much flavor at all. The service was friendly and fast, which we appreciated. What I didn't appreciate was, when I paid and the screen gave me the usual tipping options, the suggested tip STARTED at 25%! The options were 25%, 30%, 35%, and 40%. I mean, the service was good, but 40%?!?! Seemed quite over-the-top and honestly it was a little offensive (and I consider myself a pretty good tipper, usually tipping at least 20-25%). Maybe it's a minor detail, but it's still stuck in my head. I'd probably go back here again if I was in the area; but would try something different to eat.

I'm not a BBQ fan, so I never ate there, but I'll never forget a Yelp review that said, "This is the best BBQ place in a mobile home on the side of the road". It made me laugh and I teased him every time we were in Panama City. When I heard about this place inside of a gas station, I was reluctant, but when we arrived, the gas station was new, modern and clean. The taqueria was large and the menu had all of the staples you would expect in a typical family Mexican place. The special was an enchilada, tostada and rice and bean for $10. I'll repeat TEN DOLLARS. This also came with chips and salsa. I hate to say it, but this was the best Mexican food in a gas station on the side of a road anywhere. Truth is, the food was just really good and the price was unbeatable. I ended up doing something I never do, and that is double dip, after that plate, I ordered 2 tacos. I probably should have stuck with one, because the special was enough, but the flavor and price was so good, I couldn't leave without getting a bigger taste. I don't know if it was brother sister, husband and wife or father and daughter, but the man was cooking and the women was taking orders and serving. This is an area I probably get to once a year, at best, but I would not hesitate to wonder off the beaten path to return. This was some of the best Mexican food I've had in some time and more proof that too many other restaurants are over charging for far worse fare.

Our friend also got a meal that had some biscuits on the side and he had two plates of food coming out, which gave us plenty of leftovers. The eggs Benedict itself had a nice flavor with the sauce and a slightly runny poached egg. It paired nicely with the hashbrowns that had a nice, crispy top and a soft center. The biscuits and gravy had a slight creamy texture paired with a hearty flavor. We were definitely happy with our meals and the amount of food we got!
