#8 Carne Asada Burrito
Anthony S.

This place is a hidden gem located inside the Lakewood Crossing 76 Gas Station. If you are like me and miss having a local joint for authentic Cali style Mexican food, this place is for you. Excellent menu and the food is fresh and hot every time. I have had the asada tacos and the asada burrito. I'm hooked on the burrito right now. Filled with rice, beans, pico, and meat...it's delicious and hits the spot! The green and red salsa's are great. Give them a try!

Carnitas Tacos and Taco Salad. Entry to the gas station store.

My husband and I love coming here once a week for our tacos. The service is great and the food is good! Claudia is friendly and helpful. Everything we've tried has been good but I mostly come for the carnitas tacos. It's to the side of the gas station store so my husband goes in there too get a fountain drink as the restaurant only has bottled soda. The horchata is good too! They're closed on Sundays and Mondays.

On the better note you can get your own banchon so you can get as much as you want to eat. After ordering the food came quick but it took very long for them to come take our 2nd order, Very minimal on selection of meats and items. It's not too small and not too large of a place. Their kimchi is very salty to my taste. Their soy sauce is very bland. Our plate was burning and oil was popping at us and we had to ask the server to change it and mind you they walk near us multiple times. First time and gonna be last time here.

AYCE is the place I called them to verify that not all the meat is marinated so if you have a food allergy such as to soy, you are in luck. They told me the brisket is not marinated. This last time I went, I had the brisket and Bulgogi pork. They seat you then start your barbecue in the center of your table. Then you are free to go to the self service counter to load up on any of the vegetables. Make sure you grab plenty of leaves of Romain lettuce on which you will build your beautiful messy barbecue and eat with your hand and chopsticks. They have forks and spoons as well as chopsticks and extra napkins on the table. I think it was $24.99 for lunch. There are rules since it's all you can eat so people don't order too much and waste a bunch of food. My, go to is their french fries, steamed rice, whichever meats I feel like having and the vegetable and kimchi and dessert bar. The server was attentive, and friendly.

Even the young man who kept our water and bread baskets filled and boxed our leftovers, did an exceptional job. Reservations are highly recommended. You will need to leave that on a voicemail so try to plan ahead in case they're booked up. They have two dining rooms side-by-side. It gets busy and is currently open Thursday through Saturday for dinner. It gets loud as people are dining and enjoying themselves. The ambience is always delightful and fun. You can really tell the amount of pride and skill that goes into their service and meals. Tips: order all of your food upfront so that if your favorites are popular that night, they don't run out before you order. Popular items are Chilean Sea Bass and fresh-made desserts like the dreamy, white cake, just to name a couple.
