If I had known it would be offered for $5 I could have sent someone there to buy it and save my stuff. It's been impossible to email or call and no one seems to be able to tell me anything. I am very upset that the so called "great" customer service went from a 10 to a minus 50!!!!!!

All for twice the price that other moving and storage facilities offer. And to add insult to injury, they insisted after all of their mistakes that I paid an additional $4.50 for tolls, even though I have an Illinois toll collecting unit that I use for paying for tolls when I go through them. Honestly, after all of their mistakes you would've think they could've erased $4.50, but that is just how greedy this company is.

Having the right employees represent your business is so important and can make or break the impression you give customers. I hope that Public Storage recognizes Shannon as the asset that she is. When I asked about the significant rate increase (almost tripled), I was told I could move my belongings to a different unit to receive an introductory rate. What a scam! I never would have rented a space at the rate increase. I'm an older, retired woman who would have to hire someone to move my belongings. Please do not give your business to this facility. I was enticed to rent my space by the lower rate and then taken advantage of and not treated with good faith. I will be out by June 1st.

I have a storage unit at the Public Storage Willowbrook location. When I first rented the unit in…read moreApril 2025, my monthly rate was $124. Since I know that many storage companies attract customers with low introductory rates and then frequently raise the rent by unreasonable amounts, I specifically asked the manager to make sure this would not happen to me. He told me that rate increases typically occur every 5-6 months and that each increase should not be more than 5%. Unfortunately, I received my first rate increase in September 2025, and my rent went up by approximately 35%. I then received another rate increase notice starting in September 2026, this time for another approximately 30%. Based on what I was originally told--that increases would be around 5% every 5-6 months--I have instead experienced a total increase of approximately 75% over just 17 months. I recently called and spoke with one of the managers, Dee. She was very helpful, patient, and willing to revisit my situation. I truly appreciate her positive attitude and willingness to listen. I hope she will be able to handle my case professionally and fairly.
