This review deserves no stars at all. Me & my friend had the most disgusting experience ever. We waited over an hour for food. We sat outside and it wasn't busy when we originally got there. So we thought things should go smooth. We were the only black people there and people who came after us got there food before us. We ordered a salad and hamburger? Yet everyone by us got their food-- ham burgers and salads. The same things we ordered but no one ever came to bring our food. Our waiter came to us twice the whole night. Everyone was walking pass us like we didn't exist at all and servicing other tables around us including our waiter. I finally had enough and asked for the manager. Spoke to some guy and told him we do not want the food anymore. This is unacceptable! He tries to apologize and say we're sorry and your food is coming??? Where was the food an hour ago?? No one cared an hour ago but now when I speak up it's we will have your food? And then had the nerve to charge us for drinks & appetizers? What kind of establishment does that? A random couple comes to us and say you guys are the only ones with no food why is that? Because I guess the 2 black people here weren't important as the other customers. This couple was actually nice and advocated for us and demanded we speak to a manager & not pay for anything. Because if it was them they wouldn't have paid for anything at all. I've never in my life have experienced this kind of treatment at a restaurant. Everyone was being serviced and catered to but we was the only ones not being helped? Yeah okay... I don't think they care to service people of color. It's actually sad.. this is simply why I do not go to local restaurants. I would of never got treated like that at an upscale restaurant... Mastros, STK steakhouse etc. would never! The treatment was obvious and they clearly didn't care until we spoke up. Never again! And the food wasn't even hot when they decided to give it to us for free lmao. We opened it in the car and the food wasn't even hot??? So where was the food?? My salad was filled with soggy lettuces! It didn't come out the oven. Save your coins not worth it. read more

Went here on a Saturday night and it was pretty busy. Was greeted and sat immediately - so glad it wasn't long considering it was just my girlfriend and I. I got the BBQ oink & moo - succulent and juicy - while my girlfriend got the fish tacos - 'out of this world' according to her. For drinks I had the port brewing wipeout ipa and she had the watermelon mojito - which was surprisingly very refreshing (I'm not a mojito kind of guy). Our server - I apologize I forgot her name - was absolutely fantastic and funny. The only thing that did not go so well with me was the 'manager'. Well, she introduced herself as the manager and we both saw her floating around talking to tables. When she came around she asked how everything was which we responded that everything was great. What got me a little uneasy was that she talked about us telling her about "any bumps we may have on the road" and to "report to her" if anything was wrong. Don't get me wrong, it's great if a manager touches base with their tables, but not make it sound as if we were being served by military staff. Also, not a professional look for a manager if you're wearing checkered pants, a white shirt most people can see through, and what really got me was the chuck taylors. I'm sorry, if you're a manager, dress like a manager would. Other than that, we both had dessert. I had the chocolate mousse and my girlfriend had the peanut butter brownie. Hint to everyone: the dessert is too good to share, get your own! I promise you wont regret it. With that, I ended with a Not Your Father's Root Beer (on tap!!) and she had a chocolate manhattan. Sounds like a lot of sugar but we both love our sweets. Overall, I give this place a 4/5. Really great place if you want great food, great beer, great dessert, and fantastic service. I would push to 5 stars but that manager just seemed pushy to me. Also! Great thing I learned is that the small room up front can hold up to 30 people which sounds fantastic for events! Will I be back? Most definitely. read more

5 stars for the food, 1 star for service and one big mess up. We came in for the brunch. My 2 daughters and I decided to do the buffet and everything was fantastic. Our server was eh, she seemed more interested in talking to her friend than taking away the extra plates that piled up in a corner of the table. Also, we paid for unlimited bloody marys and mimosas and each time we reordered we had to ask where it was. The buffet had every breakfast food you would ever want - and if you didnt want that, there were more filling items. A la carte was also available. We noticed that the staff was taking down everything and we were very upset that our server did not let us know they were doing so. Also noticed that our server was off again to the side talking to her friend than helping out the rest of the staff - which is very rude. One big thing is that my daughter is very allergic to peanuts. Our server failed to mention to us what dessers contained peanut in them. My daughter had one of the mousse cups, we were unsure of what flavor is what, she decided to pick one out of all of them. She had one bite, realized it was peanut butter mousse and pushed it aside. We tried flagging down our waitress but she was nowhere to be found. I kept an eye on my daughter and she seemed to be fine. Finally our waitress came back and we requested for the check, paid, and left. Later on, my daughter became violently ill. I knew it was due to the peanut butter mousse. If I tell you someone has an allergy always keep it in mind and let them know what items in your brunch or menu contains peanuts! Thank god my daughter recovered after half an hour. Would I be back? Maybe. After this experience it would make me wonder if every server doesnt care about allergies. Hopefully they train that server better. read more

I always enjoyed going to this establishment as the food has always been stellar. I don't recall the last time I've been but it's been a while. I thought I would take someone there for Easter so I made a reservation for 5:30p. They told me that they were serving a buffett with brunch/lunch choices for $40/person. I thought twice about it but remembered how good the food was so I confirmed. I got a call 20 minutes later asking if I could make it in at 5p given there are 2 seatings and the food will be fresher. I agreed. We got there and there was only one other family getting ready to leave. No one else was there and it looked like they were breaking things down. Clearly, there were no seatings. I felt had. The place looked decrepit and the buffet was served in their dark bar area. It was my fault that I didn't turn around and go elsewhere but I forged on. The food was awful. The omlets and the meatballs - with no pasta - were cold. The salad was gloppy. The chicken was dry, the potatoes gratin were gone and there were no ribs. The only item that was decent was the shrimp. In fact, half of the buffet was gone. The pastries/desserts were what you would see at a middling hotel. In addition, the waiters started lining up for food while my friend and I were getting ours. Very awkward. For $40/person, I was expecting so much more and I was so very disappointed. "I ate the steak," so I paid, but I told the manager this was a money-grab and someone should have been honest with us as soon as we got there. He gave us a $20 coupon for future use, but I will never go there again. You shouldn't, either. read more

Paragon Tap and Table in Clark, NJ, exceeded all expectations! We were a party of 14 and dined there last Sunday. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant atmosphere. The attention to detail in the decor created a cozy yet upscale ambiance, perfect for any occasion. Now, let's talk about the food. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. From the appetizers to the desserts, every bite was a delight to the senses. The menu offers a diverse selection, catering to various tastes and dietary preferences. Several of us were vegetarian/vegans and that was plenty to choose from. The drink selection is equally impressive, with a wide range of craft beers, cocktails, mocktaila, and wines to complement your meal perfectly. The knowledgeable staff was on hand to offer recommendations, ensuring we found the perfect pairing for each dish. What truly sets Paragon Tap and Table apart is the impeccable service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. Their attention to detail and genuine care for their guests truly shine through. Food was once excellent.. for me, it's now about the worst value for your dollar in town. I don't know if its new ownership or what, but the place just doesn't run the way it used to. The food is drastically overpriced and confused as far as concept. From what I can tell, they still offer happy hour sometimes, but the deals are about as bad as I've seen and the menu is unintelligible. After trying 4 of their new apps, I won't be experimenting with them again. My wife and kids were here with me this week and I came with a co-worker a few weeks ago for a few beers. Had drastically different experiences. My wife's appetizer came out before mine by 15 minutes! Then, when our entrees were ready (after 50 minutes-- never seen a more bizarre and disorganized system for delivering food) we only got 3 out of 4 meals! It was a beyond terrible experience. With my buddy, I had a few great beers and the bartender was super knowledgable about beer and hysterical. One of the only bright spots. Look for the tall guy with a beard. It's still a great place to watch a game and has the best craft brews around, but now it feels more like an Applebees or Chilis now with mostly young kids who don't know anything about what their serving. Disappointing that the place has lost most of its identity, but its still one of the better places around to get a good beer. read more

As my girlfriend and I arrived we were given the option of indoor or outdoor seating. We chose outdoor, but quickly realized that the space was an issue, we were seated directly next to another family even though there were plenty of other tables available, it felt like we were participating in their dinner with them. The menu had some nice sounding food, I went for the prime rib and I will say for a $43 meal it felt more like a stouffers tv dinner. It comes out on a cutting board style tray. The veggies tasted frozen and the Rosemary Au jus felt like it coated the back of your throat with additional fat, the meal desperately needs the horseradish sauce as it's saving grace to have a break from all the oil and fat and it was just ok. My girlfriend got fish tacos fried, it came with rice and beans, the fish tacos were fine but the rice was undercooked and felt like biting into plastic. If you are looking for a fine dining experience this isn't the place, but the bar food looks a lot more appealing, maybe I should have gone with the wings or a burger. The waitress was very nice and the service was ok. read more

Two weeks ago we had hosted a Bridal shower for my daughter on the outside patio. I would like to give a huge thanks to the managers Edward, Mike and Ernie for providing the most memorable experience for my daughter and guests! Management and staff provided the most amazing service and etiquette through this difficult time. We had a group of 20-25 in a their private party room and patio. Through this tough time, all staff and guests took amazing safety measures to ensure that our group and all others were safe at all times! This place is awesome! One of my friends goes to trivia here regularly and said it was a lot of fun so I tagged along this week. The trivia itself is a little slow moving, but it's only because the place is literally stuffed with people. I was a little concerned when I saw that there was only one bartender, but he was unbelievable. He appeared to be making drinks for the whole restaurant while thoroughly engaging pretty much every guest at the bar. He asked us what kind of flavors we liked and selected a perfect beer for each person. We had all eaten dinner already, but the bartender said he loves the food and highly recommended that we stop back soon because there is a new menu coming out and he made a few of the dishes sound mouth-watering. We've been here at least 4 times since our first trip, not including trips where we've brought friends here. It's truly a winner! Our server was attentive, and I loved the darker atmosphere of the dining area. The food was outstanding. I loved their tuna tartare and short-rib egg roll appetizers! As two girls, we should've known that we'd be full after those generously portioned staters, but we really wanted to try the linguine. It was packed full of clams, perfectly-cooked scallops, shrimp, and calamari. Even though we were full, I needed to sample a dessert. Their chocolate mousse was light, fluffy, and topped with strawberries. I will definitely recommend 387 to friends and will come back myself for another special occasion!

If you pay by credit card, be sure you check your credit card account a couple of days after, as one of the employees added $20 to our bill- even though we tipped more 20% in cash. They did refund me the $ when I alerted mgmt and attempted an explanation, but this is unacceptable & very concerning behavior.

Garlic Rose really knows what they're doing. No, seriously. Having garlic in your name means that…read moreI'm entering with the mindset of garlic being the main event, and I definitely wasn't disappointed. Upon sitting down for dinner you're greeted with warm bread paired with their Garlic Rose dipping sauce AND an entire head of roasted garlic. I love roasted garlic, but that dipping sauce had me hooked and was what I kept going back for. It was bright, garlic forward, and just so addicting to the point I'm sure I consumed about three heads of garlic and a loaf of bread just to myself -- and that was only the beginning. For appetizers, you MUST get the Angels on Horseback. Shrimp, crab and bacon all in one dish - you can't go wrong. I just wish I ordered a plate of this for only myself so I didn't have to share with the table. I also opted for the pre fixe dinner set that came with another appetizer, allowing me to try their beet salad. It was a generous portion and exactly what I was looking for! Garlic Rose's menu has a pretty bold statement on it: that their pork chops are the best you'll ever have. After seeing a French onion pork chop on their menu, I just knew I had to try that one and put their claims to the test. One word: WOAH. Not only was the pork chop extremely juicy, it was packed with flavor and you definitely get the French onion soup feel. All the elements of French onion soup are on your plate, from the cheese, the deep beefy flavor of the broth, and even a piece of bread underneath to soak up all the sauce that you were missing. The surprise came when I cut into my pork chop and realized there were layers of sliced onion underneath the broiled cheese, allowing me to fully get that onion flavor. Safe to say there were no leftovers on my plate, as I licked it clean. Another star dish that surprised us was the Calabrian Shrimp, Spaghetti, and Filet Mignon tips. The sauce packed a punch, but the shocker was the filet mignon being tender and having a delicious, smoky flavor that perfectly complimented the dish. I'm still dreaming about it! I wish I had a larger stomach so I could try the entirety of Garlic Rose's menu in one sitting, but I guess I'll have to settle with multiple visits in the future. This is some amazing Italian food that you MUST try if you're ever in the Cranford area!

Fortunately, I can say not much has changed. * Inviting atmosphere, a nice tone for a "casual formal" meal - low lit but not overly elegant. * Prompt and friendly service, refilling water whenever requested. * I asked, they delivered: refills on bread and garlic bulbs if you wish. Because if you're at the Garlic Rose and you're not devouring clove after melty clove of roasted garlic, why are you even here? Of course, I only ordered food with garlic. The garlic chowder, hot and full of flavor. Garlic pasta: beef short rib ravioli. Splurge a little. What a flavorful filling. Back in the day, we'd get a bunch of garlic pastas and entrees to pass around. The only caveat: no garlic desserts. I've had garlic ice cream before at garlic festivals. It can be done, Rose. Make it so. The verdict: Make sure to invite the whole family, otherwise you'll be sitting alone for a few days.
