They do a great job with acrylic nails. However they are certainly not the best with natural nails!! I purposely grew out my nail quite a bit to have natural long nails when I got them done and, they clipped them all off! I then asked for square shape and got every shape in the book besides square. Looked like a great place for acrylics but wouldn't trust them again with natural nails!! It should be the nail technicians responsibility to know how to do a basic file of a square shape. I honestly don't know if I kinda liked this place or I highly disliked this place. First I scheduled an appointment to have my nails painted- regular polish and to do a thin acrylic overlay over 2 nails that were cracking (my real nails). They told me gel is better. Ok fine, I'll go with it. I pick a color and then she tells me to do Bubble Bath instead because it's close to that color anyway. I was a bit taken aback because what is the point of having me select a color to only offer me another similar color. I guess it was more convenient since it was already at her station. Ok fine, I'll go with it. Then instead of the acrylic overlay, she says she'll do dip powder over the two nails because it's better for my nails. Ok.. I'm not a nail expert, I have done dip powder on my own nails at home and know it's not like acrylic, but stronger than gel.. so ok fine, I'll go with it. I was in and out in 20 min. This is where I'm torn. I did not get ONE thing I asked for EXCEPT that my nails were done. However, I was in and out so quick I was happy with that part. I went here because I was in a rush to get my nails done and the crack in my nails fixed while my son was getting a haircut 5 min away. This place was my worst nail experience. They gave me the wrong color polish, separated our party all over the salon, and were very rough on my nails. Got a gel manicure and my nail lady left my nails uneven and with some polish on my hands. To top it off she had dried blood on her own fingers. read more

I should have walked out immediately after I walked in but I was in need of a mani/pedi because my regular lady was sick and had to cancel last minute. Here are some of the issues... Pedi: - water was cold (not lukewarm). Literally ice cold. I had a request for her to add actual hot water in the bowl. It's winter in Utah (30 degrees outside today). No one wants their feet sitting in ice cold water. * the girl getting a pedicure beside me had the same issue - she didn't do the basics of a pedicure (clean under the nails, clean polish off of the skin, push cuticles back,...) - my gel polish ended up being extremely thick. *There is a drop off between my toenail and cuticle - My toes do not look professionally done at all. Gel pedicures are usually crisp and clean. * I had to cut the excess gel out from around my cuticles when I got home, clean under my toe nails, etc Mani: - I did a combo acrylic and gel manicure. The application was extremely sloppy for the acrylic. She drenched the brush in the solution and then the powder. It was so wet when she applied it to my nails that I had to place them under the UV light to set the acrylic powder. * this is the first time in 20+ years of getting my nails done that I had set the acrylic powder under the gel light - The stations are not clean at all. There is old powder that was removed from prior clients that is covering their stations. This is gross and unsanitary. - I showed her a few designs off of Instagram and she told me that she was able to replicate it exactly. * She definitely was not able to, and gave me some thing far off from "similar". The execution was poor. I definitely would not recommend. This is your typical nail salon where the goal is do as many nails as possible and skip over quality. I pride myself with tipping. When getting a service, I always tip 25-30% and I actually tip 100% around the holidays. The quality of service was beyond disappointing that I only tipped 10%. They need to do a deep cleaning/dusting of this place. I can't understand how the powder containers and polish bottles are so filthy. It's disgusting and likely violates health code standards. Update: After 8 days, my gel/acrylic set by Ruby V has started peeling off. My sets usually last 3-4 weeks without any issues. read more

I got a gel manicure and it was very rushed. Three of my nails had to be redone twice because of errors the technician made (didn't put the top coat on the gel so they smudged, hair in my nails). The technician shaped my nails in such a bizarre, inconsistent way that I didn't say anything so I could just fix them on my own without her ruining them more. To make matters worse, my nails chipped within ONE DAY. This is unfortunate as I got them done for a friends wedding and they didn't even last through the entire wedding. Also, it didn't seem very sanitary - they had put some random, scented lotion into cetaphil bottles and didn't seem to wash anything between my manicure and my friend's. Overall I had a very poor experience. I would never recommend anyone come here for a gel manicure as it was the worst one I've ever had professionally done but my friend had a better experience with her dip nails. read more

Let me tell you about all the state board rules they broke regarding patient protection and sanitation. :) My sister and I called to make an appointment, they gave us a slot for 6:30.My sister made the call and she told me that they didn't get her name, as they hung up so quickly. When the time came we showed up right on time, some ladies in front of us were trying to figure out how to check in on the iPad outside, but they just went on in since they couldn't figure it out. I saw that all nail techs were busy, so when it was our turn at the front desk I told the host that we made an appointment at 6:30 for 2 gel manicures and 1 regular pedicure. Jim overheard and asked us to wait a moment as he sat the other 2 women first. My nail tech was Tina, my pedicure was okay. She did lay really hot towels on my leg and they burned a bit but she flipped them immediately and it felt manageable so I thought she was just going to leave them there. Nope! She pressed them on my legs and they burned,we test hot towels or wax inside our arm, as it is a sensitive area and if anything we burn ourselves before burning a client. This is also part of the procedure on a state board test. She asked if I was okay with genuine concern, and I appreciated that. Stuff happens... Meanwhile, My sister asked Jim for ombré nails and he told her he could do it with a gel nail manicure. So Jim was friendly with my sister, super talkative and nice. My sister looked at her nails and they were not ombré at all. Lol He said that when she washes them with cold water they will turn ombré. So she washed them there and nope! Still not ombré. He then asked my sister to pay for her service but she told him she was also paying for me. He still wanted to take the payment although I was not done. I'm sure it was because he wanted to close on time. (I get it. ).... So Tina finished and I guess she had no idea I was also waiting to get a manicure because she gave me a receipt that said $25 for the pedicure. I asked her where do I sit for my manicure and then she asked her coworkers about it in a different language then sat me in the back at her station. She clipped my nails with a toenail clipper on her station that was not clean, it had residue. I figured it was mine since she was in a hurry...pretty sure...but eww! The problem here is per state board it's cross contamination. What if I had fungus on my toes and she transferred it to my hands?! There were two cuticle nippers at her station, she decided to use the soiled one. Once again, same issue. However, this is why I figure they were my implements because who would take that many soiled implements to her station? She did use the nipper on the sides of my nails but at an angle almost like she was gonna do a coffin nail. (Against state board rules) This is how people get ingrown nails! I get the toes, I mean because some people's nails curl into the skin and it hurts, so this gives one relief. If you do this carefully, I'd say it's totally okay, but not state board. Anyway, Tina did that to all my nails and I said "round" and she looked worried for a sec but figured it would work for how she cut my nails anyway. She's really animated. Honestly, I didn't want them round. I said what she chose for me out loud to mess with her. Lol. I used to get acrylic sets before so my nails are growing out. It looks hideous! But what I do since the nails are already uneven from the regrowth is BUFF them not continue to file them with the nail drill. (Never use a nail drill for natural nails, per state board) if you buff them and you're putting gel on them, it won't be that noticeable. I'd rather them be u even than infected as she did not use a clean nail drill tip, but hey she may have just used it on acrylic and made me an exception to really smooth them out. I just wished she asked me, that's all. So then the filing came. She used a 180 grit nail file on my natural nail. The one you use on acrylic, not natural nails! (State board!) That grit is too rough. All nail files are labeled with the grit, and the shape is distinct so you don't confuse them. read more

The people here were so rude! I came in to remove my gel nails. I came in and told them they were hard gel. She didn't believe me and told me I had acrylic... but I know exactly what I had done last. She sent me to the back with some other lady who didn't greet me at all. She was speaking with the lady next to me who was already looking at my nails. The lady took my hand and said they don't remove hard gel but they would today and never again. She continued to lecture me on how bad hard nails are and how I should never do them again. Decided to try Paradise Nails for the first time 2 weeks ago. I have been going to another salon in Orem, but this one had good reviews so I thought I would switch it up. I called and made at appointment for 10 AM. The staff was ready for me as soon as I arrive. Due to COVID-19, they are requiring masks and checking temperatures as soon as you walk in. If you arrive without a mask, they are selling disposable ones. I highly recommend going to Paradise Nails! The nail tech did a great job on my pedicure and gel manicure. I felt comfortable throughout the entire process and felt that I got my money's worth for both jobs. The nail tech was even willing to fix my smudged toenail before I walked out the door. The only thing I found strange was that you are offered a drink during your service, but not told that it costs money until after it's offered. I've been to nail salons that offered free drinks before so I accepted one, but declined once I learned it was an extra charge. As for how long the mani/pedi's last, one of my nails chipped the 2nd week of having them which I was kind of disappointed by. I do work a job that requires me to use my hands a lot, but I was hoping it would be a little more durable. My pedicure (regular nail polish) has held up just fine. If you are looking for an extremely fast pedicure, this salon is for you. If you are looking for quality, go elsewhere. The pedicure girls are not allowed to spend more than 25 minutes on a customer. They actually set a timer, and rush each step to see how fast they can finish. They used a cheese grater on my feet that left the bottoms rougher than when I came in. My first visit was great! I got a nice gel done for a pretty cheap price, around $20. However, I went back a couple weeks later to get the gel removed and to get a regular polish. My nails looked terrible, the polish was so clumpy and the tech didn't ask me if I wanted to file them or anything. I was also surprised that she put my nails under the UV light with regular polish on. Truly disappointed because I was happy with my first visit.
