Worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon, spent $70 for a manicure and pedicure. I got about 5 minutes worth of a "massage" for my hands and feet. My feet are still in bad shape. I've always had a good experience here. They remodeled not long ago, and it is clean and professional. I usually do gel nails, and Rachel and Jen both do an amazing job. They pay attention to how I like my nails (short as possible, square, with slightly rounded edges) and they make me feel comfortable along the whole process. I took away one star ONLY because they don't have lacquer!! They need this service, but if what you are looking for is on their menu, go for it. read more

This place is so clean! I am a big fan of how they clean their pedicure basins, and tools after each customer. They bring out new files, buffers etc. for every new customer, is refreshing to not worry about sanitation. They do a great job, and are not too expensive. I have always loved Paradise Nails. This last visit, not so much. It was a very busy Sunday. I waited 20 minutes, which wasn't a problem. My pedicure and manicure were finished in 40 minutes. NOT simultaneously. This woman was fast and on a mission. My fingers were soaked in water, plain water. By Tuesday, my fingernails were history. Cracking, peeling, and wearing off. The pedicure has worn off at the tips (4 days.) Maybe the definition of a spa pedicure and manicure has changed. Worst of all, I watched 3 beauticians accept new pedicure clients without cleaning the basins. Yes, the cleaner was there, but it wasn't used. Hopefully, it was just a bad day. read more

This place is clean but it reminds me of a production line. If you don't mind the wait or being treated like cattle...they do decent work. Also the women there are a trip...while I was being worked on the manicurist next to me said something in Vietnamese and then in unison they all started talking...not looking at each other and not looking away from what they were doing. I went here based on it's convenient location and yelp ratings, but was seriously disappointed. I walked in around noon on a Thursday and was seated immediately. I got a normal spa pedicure and manicure, which was only $32. These are the only reasons I can give any stars. I've had slightly uncomfortable pedicures before but nothing so painful as this! I could feel the technicians nails digging into my feet and I was pretty sure for a second that my feet were actually on fire. The manicure was equally less than relaxing and I left with paint on the side of my fingernails and cuts on 3 different fingers. The worst part is that my nails were completely chipped 2 days later! If you're in need of a cheap nail job this place is fine, but if you're looking for a relaxing experience or a perfect manicure/pedicure I would go somewhere else. read more

Lynn is the best! She is a perfectionist when it comes to my nails. I really appreciate that! She is not a talker which I really like as well! She really stays focused & isn't gabbing with the other nail techs while she is doing mine. The salon is always clean, but always busy. Which is why I ALWAYS make an appt. with her. Let me start my saying that I will absolutely be coming back to Paradise Nails every time I get my nails done! The environment was great and clean. They did an AMAZING job on my nails, acrylic fill and gel. The reason one star was docked is that I paid an extra $8 for a cuticle cleaning and hand massage and they only massaged each hand for less than a minute which is what I was most looking forward to. But like I said this was my first time and I hope to change this to a 5 star in e future. Prices are fair. I'm so angry over the services I had received here. I came here yesterday to get the same style acrylics I always get from my usual nail salon. When the woman doing my nails was filing down my old acrylics SHE BURNED ME WITH THE FILE by filing down my nail to the point where it was just skin and CONTINUED AND LAUGHED after I took my hand away THREE TIMES. I had to take my hand away three times because SHE PULLED IT BACK TO BURN ME MORE even with my obvious protests. She didn't even apologize. She was also extremely unfriendly, didn't try to make conversation or even make eye contact with me. Not even two hours after I got my nails done I found that THREE NAILS WERE CRACKED. I went in the next day to tell them what happened and all they did was bitch and say it can't possibly be their fault and they will not reimburse me. So after the manager or owner lectured me multiple times on how it was my fault I broke down and cried and my boyfriend got mad and told them how it couldn't be my fault because I literally did nothing to my nails to have broken them. The only woman there who was remotely nice was the lady who glued my broken and cracked nails back together and actually apologized when she noticed I was in pain and BLEEDING. So all in all, over an interval of two days these women have BURNED me, made me BLEED, and made me CRY. Safe to say you could not pay me enough to step foot in this greedy, rude, and plain bitchy "establishment" ever again. read more

I would definitely recommend checking this place out they are nice and clean. I have been going to Paradise Nails for the past 15 years. This has been a great place, great people for all of those years. In the past month, on one visit I was getting a manicure and the manicurist cut off too much skin and it began to bleed. Ouch! Up to this point this person barely acknowledged me, and didn't realize I was bleeding. I asked Rachel for a different person. The next person cut me even worse on a different finger. That was it, I didn't want the manicure anymore. I am a glutton for punishment, and came back today only to have the person at the front desk argue with me about our (daughters and me) appt. And to say I was confused. No one apologized about cutting me. I have learned my lesson now, it's time to move on to a different place. read more

I stopped by this nail salon on a Friday evening around 5:30pm. I signed in and sat down. I was surprised the place was somewhat empty. There was a woman behind the counter, but no one spoke to me. After being there for 7-10 mins, someone else walked in and signed their name and desired service. The woman behind the counter spoke to the new customer right away and sat her to receive services. I mentioned to the woman behind the counter that I had been waiting and no one acknowledged my presence. I did not need a welcome mat rolled out, but at least speak to me and the acknowledge the services I am requesting or give me an approximate time to be waited on. The woman behind the counter said she was sorry she did not speak because she was counting money. I was on my way out the door when the "manager" said she was ready to help me. I sat in a very comfortable chair and began my pedicure. I also received a manicure. I was done with both in about an hour and had both services done by the same person. I felt this was a rush job considering I received the pedicure with the paraffin wax and extra massage. I got my signature white polish on my toes and clear on my nails. My toe polish chipped the very next day. Needless to say, I will not be back. read more

They used to be great and some of the ladies that work there are sweethearts, however, being passed over by 5 clients who walked in after I did, was the last straw. it's always too busy now as well. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. And I feel bad because they do such a great job, but their customer is crap. I've been going to this salon, here and there, for a while now and have never really had any issue. But today was no good. I decided to treat myself to a mani/pedi because it had been a while. I didn't have an appointment so I had to wait a bit, which was fine. So someone finally took me and started my pedicure. She had already taken the polish off of one of my feet & started clipping and THEN told me her appointment was here and someone else had to help me. WTF? Why did she even bother taking me if she had an appointment in 3 min? I just had to woosa in my chair because I almost left. But then someone else came and everything was fine. However, when it was time for me to pay, we had an issue. I only had my credit card on me and I asked Kathy (did my mani) to add the tip to my card. She said they didn't do that and I would have to pull cash from the ATM. I mixed up their policy with another salon I go to in Poway, who requires you to add the tip before swiping. So I explained to Kathy that I only had a credit card and would have to go home & grab cash. I'm good for it and live right up the street. Kathy HUFFED at me while she took my card. She asked me if I'd been there before. I said yes and was about to explain that I must've mixed up salons. But as she went to swipe my card, she pointed at their card policy and basically told me, "You been here before, you should know!" I couldn't believe her. It was an honest mistake and I'm assuming that she thought I wasn't gonna come back. Well Kathy, with your nasty ass attitude, you're right! And I'll never be back to that salon. I needed an emergency pedi on Saturday and didn't have much time, so I came here. I had pretty low expectations and I was still disappointed. The person doing my toes spent a lot of time rubbing my legs in what I guess was an attempt to give me a massage - but it was so light and she was so distracted during the whole process - it wasn't enjoyable or relaxing at all. She seemed at a loss when I said I didn't want any of the extra stuff... so all she really did - for the longest time imaginable was to remove old polish - rub my legs endlessly - and then add new polish. Oh - and she put a warm towel over my legs -- nice! - but then left for a long time.. where did she go??? She finally came back and used the cold towel to rub my legs some more. She chatted and chatted and chatted with the nail tech working next to her - and was at times so engaged in the conversation she was unable to focus on my pedi at all! I don't think she put a top coat on - and when I asked her - she said she did. But my polish chipped the very same day!! I won't be desperate enough to go back!!! Terrible experience!! read more

I had my nails done at Paradise Nail Salon at Grossmont Center for $45(including tip) on this past Sunday, of which my nail broke while the lady was filing my pinky nail(she charged me for it anyways). On Tuesday, yesterday, I was getting out of the shower and the same pinky nail caught on the towel and broke off which ripped my actual nail off and tore my skin and made me bleed... I went back in today and simply asked what they could do for me. I couldn't have anything done right now because my finger is very tender and the skin obviously hasn't grown back yet and nor has my nail. The manager took one look at it and said they could fix it for me right then and there but they would charge me for it. I told her I wanted my money back and she said she only does business and giving money back is not apart of her business... I got angry and told her that her business has failed and that I deserve my money back. She told me that she will absolutely not give my money back because it was my fault that my finger nail broke. She refused to give me my money back so I told her that she just lost my business and I was going to complain to someone higher up and to have a good day and walked out. I'm shocked that after such a bad job and my skin has been torn off that they not only refused to give my money back but they would also CHARGE me to get my nail redone... ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. The place is super clean, but I would suggest making an appointment because they are usually busy on weekends and in the afternoons. They are a little pricey but consistently good. read more

Unfortunately, I had a horrible experience. Michelle does a horrible job. She charged me $7.00 more for a callus removal and did not do one thing. As she was putting on my sandals and she messed up my toe polish. I asked her to fix it and all she did was wipe around my toe with a paint brush. I took my 5 year old daughter to get our nails painted for our vacation. I called ahead to make an appointment and they told me to just do a walk-in. So that's what we did and we had to wait over 30 minutes. Once we finally got called the lady was very rushed and didnt take her time at all. She also answered the phone about 20 times and was running around with the appointment book during our manicures, which made our time there even longer. I also got my toes painted and another lady came over to do that while I was still getting my nails done (which is fine because it saved a little time) but she had me put my feet in her lap so she could paint my toes, I haven't had my toes done much so this might be normal, I just thought it was strange/awkward. If I lived here I would not be returning to this salon. read more

I used to be a regular customer but will never go back. The last time I went there I was with my daughter. We were happily getting manicures and pedicures. All of a sudden, they pulled the person who was working on my daughter to have her work on someone who had arrived much later as an appointment. They left her sitting there half done for over an hour. It was unbelievable. My daughter gave up and left unfinished. I don't understand how someone can arrive a good 40 minutes later and they can so rudely cut off another customer in the middle of a service. They didn't even discount her fee for half a pedicure. I go here because the prices are reasonable and they are CLEAN. I go for the pampering--the chair, the massage, the nail care. When it comes to the paint job though, I do a much better polish that's lasts longer. My last visit there was for the Ultra Deluxe package which is Euro mani and Euro pedi with French polish included and 10 minutes massage time for arms and legs. ZERO stars for the manicure. The girl going by "Amy" rushed through my manicure, did not give me the extra massage time, was terrible at the massage and even skipped a hand (did my right forearm but not my right hand). Her polish job was sloppy (French tips with red stripe). She bumped them and instead of redoing the one she effed up, she painted over it, the white went over the red line, and she didn't fix it. there were also bubbles in the top coat, so less than 24 hours later, all nails had at least a small chip in them. One even chipped/peeled from the side. She also didn't use any cuticle oil or cuticle remover, did one push per nail for getting the cuticles back, and then hardly nipped them so that I left with skin poking out around my nails. I begrudgingly tipped her $2 and then told the manager (man at the front desk) what happened. He said thanks for letting him know. And then I asked for a discount for next time (I paid $63 for the complete service and ended up with a shoddy mani). He gave me a $7 credit to use next time... 5 stars for the pedicure. Nicki did my feet and did a great job. I think she is ther first person who actually seemed to take pride in what she was doing. She was careful, sweet but not talkative, spent enough time on the massage, and her paint job was flawless. I wish I had her do both services but oh well, next time! What I don't like about Paradise Nails in general is that they file your nails back and forth which is not good for natural nails and frays them. But it seems to be the nail salon standard since its faster than going corner to center. Also if you get a mani whiel in the spa chair, they make you reach one hand over so that they can do both hands from the same side. If you are going in to relax (versus for a paint job) this definitely detracts from the experience. I know its not as efficient, but I'd rather they do one hand, then move to the other side and do the second hand. I will be back on the rare occasions I decide to pay and get pampered and I recommend this place to others for sanitary reasons. But man, learn who is good and stick with them.
