VERY VERY ANGRY with my service. I usually go to a different place but I have been hearing good things about this place in towaco so I called up and asked how much for a gel pedicure and they said $37. So I go get it and I go to pay and they say $55. I was so confused so I said I called and you said $37 and she said I know I thought you asked for hands not toes. I said that's not my fault this is ridiculous and she said either pay it or she's going to call the cops. She admitted to messing up the least she could have done was offer me a discount to help me out. I will NEVER EVER come back here and I will be disputing the charge. Worst people ever. read more

For a pedicure, they didn't put water in the foot tub. They didn't push back or cut the cuticles. They cut the nails crooked. They painted half of a pinky toenail and they charge $25 extra JUST for gel POLISH. They do not give ANY sort of massage unless you want to pay $2 per minute. Not worth it in my opinion read more

I have been going to paradise nails for 12 years. The original owner Eunice was always great and her staff were always very friendly and attentive. They recently got bought over by another person and at first I was OK with the transition. However, I had an appointment at 11:15 to get my pedicure and as I walked in the nail technician, Michele welcomed me with the nastiest look and told me that my appointment was for 10:15 I told her that my appointment was for 11:15 and that I would never book it any earlier because I have a continuing engagement every Friday from 9-11. She continued to argue with me that was the time even though I know for a fact, I booked it for 11:15. Instead of just being gracious, she continued to argue with me and then told me with a disgusted look to go sit as if she was doing me a favor. It was disgusting the way she treated me. I've spent thousands of dollars at that location and I will never go back again completely unprofessional, rude and there are plenty of other places that would love my business. read more

I feel like everyone here has just stopped trying. Every time I go they don't even look at my nails when shaping them. I just left here and some nails are totally slanted right, others left, others are somehow shorter in the middle than on the sides. The cuticles are a mess. She globbed the clear coat on top of one nail so it looks like one of those awful bubble nails. It's not just one person either - I had Eunice today and someone else two weeks ago. They just don't care and they move quickly without asking questions so that you don't get enough time to look and see how bad it is. I swear it's like if you ask for a regular manicure their thought process is "this will last one day so they're clearly just here to relax and we'll make it special". Ask for gel manicure and they're rough and cold with you, knowing you'll be back in two weeks to spend another $30. In addition to this, whenever I call to make an appointment they say "can you come in right now?" As though there are no other availabilities as they won't answer when I ask what other times are open. However, I called this morning and asked if I could come in now (more or less to see what would happen) and they seemed baffled I would ask because they're SO busy. Ultimately, she said "no, how about fifteen minutes?" It makes sense why there's rarely anyone here these days. The best nail salon in Montville. For hands, Annie is the best, and for pedicures Christina. Annie and her husband own the salon and are super nice. Put your email and birthday down on your first visit - they'll send you a postcard for a free mani around your birthday. They also have a "punch card" - 10 manicures, get one free. Everyone is super nice, professional and detail-oriented. Some techs are slightly better than others but I've never been unhappy with my nails here. Clean, spacious, and comfortable. I did the groupon special paid $35 for 2 gel manicure. First time I went they had me w/a young girl taking off my nail polish etc. Never asked me if I wanted my nails trimmed. Had a man massage my back while there were doing my nails-that was great. For gel manicures they only have like 5 wheels of color to choose & mostly fall colors. Left there w/some nails short n others long my design I asked for which was stars did not match my 2 ring fingers. 2nd visit-again never asked if I want nails trimmed I had to tell them. No one massaged my back like first visit or other salons. Very inconsistent which is why I see why they have groupons all the time. Plaza nails in Lake Hiawatha is so much better. Pretty shotty manicure.. Went here on a whim since I needed to pass time so I did the mani and pedi. The pedi was half way decent since it was empty in there at that specific moment. I agree with another reviewer that I barely got a leg massage, no pressure whatsoever. As soon as she started on my hand, another customer walked in so she completely rushed my manicure. End result, a crappy manicure with uneven nail polish. Look for yourself.. I suggest going here when it's completely dead in order to get decent service or wait for the owner to do your nails. read more

This place is not using fully sterilized equipment. They never open a sterilized pack of anything they used on me (only tossed in a solution - not sufficient) or even cleaned the foot spa. Only used a plastic bag but never cleaned or sprayed down anything after any pedicures. Disgusting! Also my daughter and I had an appointment and she was done for 20 min before me. They took walk in people and bumped me back! The owner was late and they claimed that is why I got pushed back. Will never go back! read more

What a horrible place ! Went here with 5 of my friends we all got gel manis' and pedi's ! My gel manicure looked like I did it my self ! It looked horrible. Then someone else tried to fix it and one of the nails looked like 2 different shades ! Finally Cindy fixed the nail! She was the only one that seemed like she cared and knew what she was doing! I have been to other salons in the area ,plaza nails which is 100 times better ! For spending 60 dollars on gel mani and a regular pedi I expected at least decent job. Horrible ! I made the mistake of purchasing a groupon (2 for 1 gel mani) from this place. The nail technician did an average job both times, but the overall mood/environment of the salon is horrible. I went in for my second gel mani and the male owner had an immediate attitude and gave me such a hard time for requesting an appointment with OVER AN HOUR'S notice! He told me that it wasn't nearly enough time to do a gel mani and that I would be waiting for awhile. FYI a technician called me over 5 minutes later and the gel mani took no more than 35 minutes. Never in my life have I been treated with such disrespect by someone, and by the OWNER of a place in which the customer should come first! I would never go back to this place nor would I ever recommend it to anyone. Bottom line....the owner is a jerk and disrespectful to woman and the general atmosphere and vibe of the place is negative and judgmental. I just got my nails done after getting a groupon for gel mani, and regular pedi. I have never written a review but this was by far the worse nail job. The nail technician asked if I liked the nails and I was very honest and said no. She ignored me and sent me to get a pedi. I then mentioned something to the gentleman at the front desk, and he had her come over I explained again; you never cleaned up cuticles and nails, there is gel all over my hands, and the job on my nails is horrible. She goes on to ignore me, cleans up one cuticle and moves on. I then asked the lady doing my toes to please have it soaked off. They all look at me in astonishment, and do not remove the gel! I was so upset and beyond in disbelief at the service or lack of. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Avoid this place even if you have a groupon!!! Horrible! read more

I wish I read these reviews before I went. Cost me $100 for an awful gel nails, WAY OVER priced for the job. The technican is horrible at scupting gel nails. When I told her how displeased I was with my nails she was very rude & told me it was because I've never had gel nails before. I will never go there again. Overall it was just okay... i used a groupon and felt they could ha e done a better job.

So disappointing. Just had a spa pedi and the girl who did my toes was so not interested in putting in the effort. I had to ask her to file my nails to make them even after she felt they were acceptable. Plus she didn't even get all the oil off of my feet and I now feel like I am going to break my neck if I'm not careful. She was rough in handling my cuticles and actually put her weight on the top of my foot to push herself up from a sitting position. I feel like she missed a step in the "spa" pedi that you pay a premium for. I don't understand why it is so hard to give good service. Now that being said there are some girls there that do give good service, however, not today. Unfortunately this put a bad taste in my mouth. Look at your staff and reevaluate who you hire, if the quality isn't there cut them loose. This is especially true in a customer service oriented business. Everyone is really nice and they squeezed me in for my first appointment. My french gels came out really nice. The reason for the A-ok rating, I wanted color polish with the gel over the top. They don't do it here. Or at least that's what I was told. You can choose from the gel colors they have. The colors are really limited and not at all interesting. I have never been to a place that will not put regular color polish under a clear gel. Sadly, I need to find another place because I prefer to have more variety. read more

I really wish I could have raved about what a great place Paradise Nails & Spa is... I'm usually pretty easy to please, and I wasn't expecting much, it being my first time at this nail salon... But I'm sorry to report that despite an amazing pedicure done by a really skilled and talented lady named Anna, it is run by such a rude and inconsiderate staff that it nearly had me ready to storm out the door midway through my manicure. And that's a real first for me. I'm still shocked and upset by how rude the manicurist was. I get that they're trying to sell their services and that times are tough... but really... if i don't want the gel colors and just want the plain manicure I requested, is it really necessary to interrogate me about why I don't want them? To spend over 5 minutes pushing me to get them, trying to convince me, getting visibly annoyed at me for not wanting them... And then when I'm finally forced to admit that I just can't afford them today but perhaps another time, is it really necessary to ask me why I can't just pay for the gel colors with a credit card??? I believe her exact words were "What, don't you have a credit card on you?" SO RUDE. SO INAPPROPRIATE. And when I finally just flat out told her I wasn't getting the gel colors, just a plain manicure she has the audacity to make a loud huff noise and tell the girl next to us that I can't afford the gels... what the heck is that?! All I went in for was a simple mani/pedi which they damn well knew! I don't have much money and it was just a rare treat for myself... and to be accosted by who I suspect is the owner... it's just a really disappointing experience that should have been a relaxing treat.
